My dog ended up bleeding and needed an antibiotic injection from the vet. What made the situation worse was that the other owner did nothing to intervene, and we had to physically separate the dogs ourselves. It was frightening and completely avoidable if the posted rules had been followed. I hope the park enforces its guidelines more strictly so everyone's pets can stay safe.

For the two legged parents, there are great benches with big umbrellas...almost always 1/2 of them in shade depending on the time of day. I've only met a few fellow owners, but every one I meet is nice! Bring a book, Bring a Sandwich, and BYOD...or else it's weird if you don't bring a dog. This is a no-no except for very small dog treats. Speaking of very small, there is a big dog area and a small dog area. Also, as with all dog parks, people are expected to pick up after their pets. Bags are available for that, and trash bins too. Most of the dogs and people are well-behaved, but that can change so dog owners should be attentive to their dogs. The dog park is a real asset to Aksarben Village.
