Fought my snowblower in for a tuneup. They did it. First snow - started for 5 mins. Took off the plastic cover thought it was a gas line issue....nope. The carburetor was hanging by one bolt. Called the, and they made good on it - even picked it up, fixed it and dropped it off. I'll give it a three star. read more

I bought my lawn tractor from them in March last year, and I also brought them a 30 year old roter tiller I bought from Craig's List to clean up. They did a good job and got it back to me fast. I had them pickup my mower for service over a week ago, and it hasn't even been looked at yet. It got picked up on Wednesday, and I called them late on Friday to check on the status. They said it was up next to be looked at first thing Monday and I would receive a call. I called them again Thursday morning, and said that it hadn't been looked at yet, but it should be ready in the next couple of days and I would get a call when it was ready -- probably early next week. I asked if it usually took this long and he told me they were about 10 days for service. They didn't mention that when I called for the pickup. And they've been very bad about keeping me updated on their progress. Meanwhile my grass just keeps getting longer... It looks like this is their standard of service these days, so I'll likely go elsewhere in the future. read more

I was recently in need or a new lawnmower and wanted an electric battery model. After buying and promptly returning a poorly functioning Ryobi unit to a big box home improvement store, I found Halloran Power Equipment in a google search of Toro dealers. I figured a large equipment dealer would have new units I could see and try before purchasing and I was correct. When I arrived I described the type of unit in which I was interested, and Joe, the salesperson, located one in inventory, had it assembled and let me test the self-propelled drive controls and the mower operation in the parking lot before I purchased the unit. Joe was extremely helpful and completed the warranty registration for me during the sale and I left the store with a fully charged battery. I am extremely happy with the sales experience and the level of service I received. I would recommend Halloran Power Equipment to anyone seeking a new lawnmower. I am also very satisfied with the performance of the Toro 60V personal pace max recycler mower I purchased, which was a little cheaper than the Ryobi model I returned to the Depot read more

I am writing this complaint because I have dropped off my snow blower on 12/30/17. It is now 01/15/18 as I am writing this review and still don't have my snow blower. In my initial call they said they will get it done the same day. I got to the store they advised it will take a couple of days since they need to replace a belt and to put in a bolt. I have been told to put in a bolt on the handle would take 30 minute only !!! I asked how that is possible they said that's how long it takes. I was told another 30 to do the belt. I was told it would be $100 and I left a 40 deposit. I called them three times in the past and said they are working on it. I called today and they don't have it done so I expressed frustrations and the individual at the store didn't care to hear my concerns. read more

I purchased a new snowblower from them in the fall of 2012. I was able to purchase it online and do an in-store pickup for same price offered at the local "big box" store. I would highly recommend purchasing from Halloran since this equipment is their speciality and they know it inside and out. Whether you ever have a problem with your equipment or need just basic service, these guys will stand behind you for the life of the equipment; they don't disappear after the sale. I had a small warranty issue with my machine they made sure everything was corrected at no cost. I worked with Mike and he really took care of me. read more

I would advise that contractors would stay away from this place. Our Experience was not pleasant with this people and was a bit of a nightmare in a way. Took in our mower for a repair which cost us $625.00 and in the process of them fixing the machine they accidentally damaged the wire harness. We were expecting for them to fix it free of charge but instead they ended up charging us another $600.00 additional to repair their "little" accident. I would recommend anyone that would consider using this people to be careful so you wont be -$600.00 on your budget. I purchased my Ariens 28" snowblower from here, great customer service and the delivery to my house was handled seamlessly. They were very competitive on price, and I prefer buying from a dealer vs. the big box stores; The dealer can actually support you after the sale. Plus, many times the dealer has higher quality models that are not sold in the big box stores. I have bought parts here from time to time, some for an old Ariens that I was repairing, and they were really helpful balancing OEM parts and aftermarket to keep the repair costs down. This past summer I was having issues with a gas trimmer brand that they did not sell, actually this was a big box brand that I bought when we first moved to the area. Since big box couldn't help me ( why I prefer a dealer!) I knew I could go to here to have them take a look. They were super cool about it, took it back to the shop to work some carb tuning magic and had it running better than when I had bought it new! I bought some parts too while I was there, but there was no charge on the carb tune! I was certainly "wowed" by this, you just don't see this kind of customer service anymore, it's refreshing. Bottom line check this place out for your landscape power equipment needs, even if your not a contractor they treat you in a very courteous and professional manner! Just walked in to see if they could do repair on a lawn mower. I walked up to front counter where an employee was on phone with a customer. For fifteen minutes a stood there with zero contact! No "I'll be with you in a few". No "let me get some to help you or any anything!" Just ignored for fifteen minutes. I do understand he was already helping someone on the phone but a wave a nod or anything would have helped. People wonder why nobody goes to local shops anymore , and this is exactly why, Horrible Customer Service. I'm sure the guy could care less and will deny everything I wrote but that is why business are successful and grow and others struggle. read more

I just paid for my Simplicity mower tuneup and mulching deck installation. The tuneup service said the mower would be steam cleaned. It came back dirty. And the mulch deck installation came back with the chute eeflector still attached and in the way. I would not recommend using Halloran for a mower tuneup. read more

They were very good to me when I was shopping for a snow blower. Even when they couldn't get me the blower I wanted, they were very helpful knowing I had to buy elsewhere. They offered to do my warranty work, which they get paid for but still could have told me to go scratch. Ordered generator parts, they gave me advice on getting it running. Spent like an hour on the phone over the course of a week as I shopped for hard-to-find snowblowers for the big '11-'12 midwest winter that never came! Thankfully. read more

I live in Virginia, but wanted to buy a snow blower for my daughter in law. I did a Google search to find a local dealer. I can echo what some others have said, the service was wonderful. They delivered the snowblower ready to go and later gave my daughter in law instructions on its use. When I realized they had failed to install a hand warmer I had paid for, they immediately rectified the problem. As others have noted the prices were the same as big box stores. If you would like to have your equipment repaired in a timely manner then I would definitely recommend going anywhere else other than Halloran. Dropped off a chain saw to have the carburetor replaced and they told me that it would be a week or so for it to be completed. Well two weeks later after not hearing back from them at all I decided to stop in where they then told me that the carburetor was ordered and it'll be coming in within the next few days. Ok so I decided to let it go up until it became a full month since I dropped it off for repair where I the. Stopped in again to check on it once again after still never receiving any phone calls. No carburetor ordered and absolutely zero work done to it. Well atleast they were nice enough to give me my $40 that I originally paid for the service. I will never take my business there again and I suggest you do the same. read more

So yea... on the one hand, these guys are good and friendly, etc., they know their stuff. But, on the other hand, the few times I have had things in there for work, it has literally taken FOREVER! I'm not exaggerating, two months in one case. I get it that they are probably busy but really? get some more people or be VERY clear about potential turnaround times. For this kind of repair work I guess my expectation would be at least an estimate call in a week to ten days but in all cases I've had to call them after hearing nothing for two to three weeks and then promised call backs don't happen. I'm not saying anything negative, just be aware this is standard operating procedure. If you need something back in a reasonable amount of time, make sure you keep this in mind. read more

I would not recommend Halloran Power for any equipment repair or small engine maintenance. They picked up my Simplicity lawn tractor on Jan 26, and promised to have a routine tune up done in two weeks. After three weeks I had to call for an update and Joe, the service manager, said they hadn't even started on it, but that it would be done in two weeks. Three weeks later I called again and received the same answer from Joe. This continued every two weeks or so until I stopped by the store on April 5 and asked for the owner Mike Halloran. He was too busy to see me at the time but finally called me two days later said he would check it out and call me back. Mike never called back and after two more days I had to call and ask for Mike. He finally called back and said there were some problems with the tractor not noticed initially. Finally got the tractor back on April 11 - which is 11 weeks from the time I dropped it off. They never called me once, and I had to call probably 8-10 times to get updates. Mike said he would give me a price discount for being late, but it still cost over $700. They are very frustrating to deal with. I believe these guys are basically a lawn service and not a small engine repair shop - they certainly have no concept of costumer service. read more
