Diogenes can rest! We found an honest Mechanic! I am disabled, on crutches and living on Social Security, so I watch every dime. We found Tim Hall's shop after a number of disappointing experiences at a neighboring shop. Tim actually sent a mechanic over to retrieve our Jeep from the other shop, and made the repairs for a fraction of what the other shop quoted. I decided to take my Expedition for a few needed repairs, and again the repairs were made quickly, and to my surprise for about half of my expectation. I even stopped Tim and asked him if the bill was correct! He assured me it was, and I went home a happy man. Hall's is clean, the people are personable, and Tim is a good communicator. Unlike a neighboring shop that confuses fixing cars with operating a day care center. On one occasion when I entered the shop, after seeing me on crutches, the mechanic rushed out with a chair for me. When I picked up my Expedition, the same mechanic drove it around front for me and made sure I got in alright. Small gestures, but much appreciated. We live in Kingstowne (Alexandria), which is about 25 miles away; however, it is well worth the effort to have them serviced by someone you can trust without charging an arm and a leg. I purchased a used car from a dealership and I took the car to Halls Auto to have them check it out. I Received a call from Tim Hall (Owner) and he stated that the car should not have passed State inspection with the front brakes in trouble. Mr Hall recommended me to call the dealer and tell them the problem and I did and the dealer replaced the front rotors and pads at no cost. Mr. Hall could have done the work but he is so honest and told me what to do and he saved me over $150.00. Thanks for being honest with a customer.. I recently relocated to northern VA a few years ago. As many people know, its hard to find an honest mechanic. I found Halls Auto Care by searching the Manassas area for a mechanic. I am a recent college grad, so money is tight right now. I needed a skilled mechanic, honesty, and fair pricing. What caught my eye about Halls, are the classic cars that are out front!! There's this Fire Engine Red Firebird with a 455 out front all the time. Its one bad bad ride, completely restored I was told! So! Halls has always taken care of me with very fair pricing on labor. The best part is, the owner Tim and his spouse are so nice! When you want the job done quickly and correctly, go here. They don't mess around. I would give 6 STARS if I could. Thanks! 1997 dodge caravan wouldn't start, Hall's Auto has a towing company that they work with and they are fairly reasonably priced, so I just called Hall's and they called the company for mand included towing cost with their bill so i dodn't have to write two seperate checks. Price was approx $60 for the towing, and the tow truck driver was very considerate and let me ride in the truck with him. When I got there Tim popped the hood and immediately started explaining the various possibilities as to why it wouldn't start. Luckily it was just the cables which had become pretty badly coroded. Instead of just replacing them and thus costing me alot more money (He knew I was a single mom and didn't want to spend more than absolutely necesary), he welded them on tighter and showed me how they worked so that if I ever had another problem in the future I'd know what to do. I needed to replace the tires all too, so I bought four new ones from pep boys(They had a buy3-get4-free deal, and I cheated and got a warranty on just one of the four so that if i blew one tire they could fix it, much cheaper than paying for all four) He charged me just $10 per tire for installation and balancing. He's honest and a genuinely good guy and I wouldn't think of using anyone else read more

Halls auto care is honest and trustworthy. My parents have used them since I was 3. (Now I'm 24) they greet you with respect and never blow you off. I highly recommend coming here to fix your vehicles. I'm sure you will not regret it. I brought my friends car in that just needed a grill flap plugged in. At another auto repair they told him it was a gas module, and it would be big bucks. Tim right away checked the codes, printed out pictures of the part and explain what needed to be done to the car and my friend saved a lot of money, You don't get honesty like that anymore. I have been going to this place for years and they do good honest work. I know if I have to take my car any place, this is the only place I will go and I trust them not to over charge me any repair. Their shop is clean and the wait is usually pretty short - depending on what you're having done of course. I cannot recommend them enough. Go there and I promise you won't regret it. read more
