I called Halo Detail this morning since my car has been neglected over the years and was in dire need of a good waxing and leather conditioning. John answered my phone early in the morning and was quick to schedule Ricardo to come out to wherever I was. I had initially asked for him to meet me at my office, but being in real estate, a last minute appointment came up, and I had to move locations. (Which is partially why its always so difficult to have my car carefully waxed since I'm always on the go!) I called John and let him know I'd be relocating, and he was quick to have Ricardo meet me wherever I was. Two hours later, and my car looks BRAND NEW!! One of the main things I'm most impressed with is how well he cleared out all of the dog hair from the backseat carpets. My mangy mutt sheds like a monster, and I had asked Ricardo to please pay most attention to that. I was so pleased with his work, I called my husband on the spot to see if he wanted Ricardo to come detail his car, too. I will definitely be using Halo Detail again for my next car waxing job!! Jon and the team at Halo Detail have worked wonders on both my boyfriend and my cars. I have had problems with water spots on my car due to a broken sprinkler system at our apartment, and have tried multiple car washes to try to get them out. I had gotten quotes up to $250 to get them taken care of at some of the local hand wash places. Horrible! Picked up my car after doing some shopping at the swapmeet. They returned my car with bird poop on the windshield, black marks on the trunk, dirt in the wheels, dust in the interior...After brining it to the attention of the man who handles the cash he said he gave me a list of excuses and said he would have his guys fix it. At this point I am beyond annoyed that they would deliver my car to me like this and be okay with charging me full price. I would have been better off going to the drive thru car wash for $5 vs $40 for a crap wash. read more

Recently, I met up with the owner and discussed a couple of body blemishes on the car. I asked if a great detail would get rid of the blemishes. Instead of talking me into "just trying it out" like other companies have in the past, the owner straight up told me that even the best detail wouldn't fix that blemish. I have to write a review before the freshness of the beautiful job these guys did on my car is gone. I am beyond busy with a crazy schedule and the fact that these guys came to my work and were able to schedule an appointment for me on such short notice, is just amazing. Ricardo worked on my car for over 2 hours and did an incredible job. My car is over 14 years old and traveled here from Montana to be my transportation until I get a new one.. Snowy days and muddy shoes resulted in such dirty floors and upholstery. Ricardo got them magnificently clean. I really hate leaving bad reviews. A few years ago when they cleaned my car, I would have given them 10/5 stars. They did a phenomenal job! Unfortunately, this is not how my current experience went. A few weeks ago I called the number they have on their website. Without typing out the entire conversation, the person who answered treated me like I was inconveniencing them with my inquiry. He sounded annoyed with me for trying to book them. He gave me minimal (sometimes 1 word) answers. I overlooked it because I knew it would be worth it when my car was cleaned. We booked a day (not time) and he asked me to text the number my address. I did this, and I also asked how long it should take and what time they would be there. A few hours later he tells me it should take 2 hours around 12 or 1. This was perfect since I had to leave for class around 4. When no one called or showed up, I called them at 2, and no one answered. I figured at this point they weren't coming. At 3pm I get a text saying they were on their way. I had to text back saying that since they didn't show on time and I hadn't heard from them saying they were running late, I assumed they weren't coming and I had to go to class. All he replied with was "ok sorry". I really wanted to reschedule because when my mother booked it for me years ago, everything was great. Unfortunately, this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I've worked in customer service a long time and I couldn't treat someone like an inconvenience. My only advice: At least let someone know if you are going to be a few hours late. I would have been 100% understanding because I know that stuff happens that's out of people's control. When I don't hear anything and I take time out of my day for this, it feels like you don't care enough about my business. If that's the case, don't book my business. read more

Pretty competitive prices for a place that does some quality work. I think my favorite part is how honest the guy (John) was I spoke to over the phone. He mentioned to me that they could come over in the afternoon but recommended it was better to have them detail the car the next day so the carpets could dry properly. Not a lot of companies would recommend something that is better and risk losing the business. Surely appreciate the honesty! read more

Extremely fair pricing considering the level of work they achieved. I never knew how much chrome my SUV had on it until they cleaned it! The inside is impeccable. Had wifes car done for xmas at the swap meet while we shopped. When we came back to leave they said it was done. Carpet were dirty and wax still on parts of the car. I used their service the first time for a mini detail. It was $175. They are a mobile detailing service, so they come to you. The detail was fine. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. In the following months, I tried to make an appointment for them to come out again to wash my car, this is typical upkeep for a vehicle. John made it difficult to make an appointment. He would either be at a job site or not as his "calender". He would always ask me to text him. I make the effort to call him as a customer, and he essentially blew me off. Doesn't seem to want my business. I texted him again today on my day off. He finally texted me back and said that financially, it is not worth it to come out to my house to wash my car. He now has a $75 minimum to come out. On their website, the used to advertise a $25 car wash. They still offer a $39 express detail. If you are looking for the $25 car wash or the $39 express detail, they WILL NOT come out to you. You must go out to one of their job sites. So much for this place being a "mobile detailing Service". When it comes time for my next big detail, I will not be using John's mobile detailing service and I hope you don't either. read more

John did an EXCELLENT job on my Lexus and backed up his reputation for providing quality service - Ricardo, who worked on my detail, kept working at it until my car was restored like new. We got our Tahoe detailed at the Costa Mesa swapmeet. The Tahoe is a 2002 and no kidding, they made it look like new again! Haven't seen her shine like that in years! Overall I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the detail job. I paid $175 to have them clay my 2 year old car, wax it, and detail the engine compartment. They did not detail the engine compartment as requested and did a poor job with the clay and wax. Very little attention was paid to detail, I wiped off numerous spots as the detailer stood there. I wasn't being finicky, they were really obvious. What concerned me most was, there were spots I was expecting to come out with the clay, just smudges, nothing significant. The smudges were still there, which made me question whether or not they actually clayed/waxed the entire car. I was also really disappointed to notice that there were swirl marks all over the car. I would be cautious, I'm concerned I didn't get what I paid for. I recommend paying a little more for a much better service. If you choose to use them, be certain you get what you pay for. read more

I went to the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds today to do some shopping and I noticed the car detailing place off to the side of the parking lot. I went over and inquired about a clay polish for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma, and John ( I think he is the owner.) gave me a very reasonable price. Now my truck has been neglected lately, so they had there work cut out for them. I had a good amount of oxidation on the hood and the front bumper of the truck. John said that he would need a couple of hours to finish the job, and it will look like new. Two hours later I returned and the truck looked great on the inside and outside. Nice job John! read more

Halo detail did a FULL detail on my Subaru this week, as I have been neglecting it for a while. There were some stains on the rear bumper from the exhaust as the car was running catless for a while, and it just needed a good compound/polish/wax all over. I am a HUGE FAN of the team at Halo Detail! Jon and the guys did an absolutely wonderful job applying their premium Opti Coat 2.0 exterior sealant to my newly repainted 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit (Black Crystal Pearl). The treatment has given my car a truly wet-look brilliant shine with zero streaks or sun swirl scratches. And it is guaranteed to be long lasting and resistant to streaking and staining from the elements (bird droppings, tree sap, mystery green droppings from the sky, etc) for years to com!. My experience with Halo deserves zero stars. My first call/email was not returned until the next day. I had another detailer set up but canceled since Halo told me I would get a discount given they were at my building that day. They were to detail my car on a Friday and never touched it. They promised to do it Saturday and still did not. I called and texted and received a response via text many hours later on Sunday. I agreed to still let them do the detail at a reduced rate on Monday which was done, however, the quality was poor. I had told them I wanted the car ready to be sold and yet there was dust left in the emergency break handle, in the back door handles, etc. read more
