But thought I wanted more pampering (that's why I chose hot stone ) the therapist came in asked what kind of pressure I wanted. I said medium. She went pretty deep. I was ok since that is what I normally get. My down side was the hot stone. I don't think she even used them for 5 min. She spent more time massaging my feet ( not a bad thing, but when you pay extra for hot stone, you kinda expect hot stones) Overall I will go back if I'm in the area again. But won't pay for the hot stone again and just get a massage.

I have been to this business 3 times in the past 3-4 months. My first 90 minute massage was…read moreoutstanding! I was asked if I was warm enough, what pressure I liked, what areas were of concern or preferred. I was extremely impressed with the student and my massage! My 2nd 90 minute massage was with a different student. I was not asked if I was warm enough or what pressure I preferred. My massage ended in 60 minutes even though I had paid and scheduled a 90 minute massage. The staff was apologetic and offered to reschedule my 90 minutes massage. I returned about 3 weeks later. I was told my student was en route to the school. I had a clipboard and questionnaire put in my hands to fill out without providing any details or questions like "when was your last massage?" I was frustrated but filled out the form. Then a student I previously had the last time said I was to be her client, was that ok? I hestitated, but agreed. Upon undressing and waiting for student, it seemed about a good 5 minutes! The questionnaire I had filled out asked what are areas of concern or to be avoided. The student asked me these questions and I reconfirmed my answers. During my massage NOT ONCE WAS I EVER ASKED: ARE YOU WARM ENOUGH? IS THE PRESSURE OK? IS THE MUSIC LEVEL TO MY LIKING? NO, instead, I had the exact same 60 minute body massage extended into 90 minutes. Were my concerns tended to during the massage? NO! After dressing and returning to the office, I was handed a clipboard to fill out with comments regarding my massage. I was very honest in my answers! I looked around to hand the clipboard to, did not see anyone, so I placed the clipboard on a table by the office and left, telling myself I will not return to this business. I have yet to receive any follow up phone call regarding my massage and the issues I answered and provided on the feedback form.

I called nearly a month ago to get an appointment and received a voicemail saying appointments needed to be set up online at just relax.biz. (Groupon told me this is not correct she must make appointments how she agreed to it on their website which was by phone) I went to the website and it showed she was booked through May2018, This was in early November. (I knew this could not possibly be true) I called the company back and this time waited for the beep and left a message stating the above. I got a call back the next day saying that they only book 1 month in advance and November was already filled. She advised me to call back on 30 November and December would become available. (she said if I did not call on 30 November that I probably would not be able to get in in the month of December, so I put a reminder in my phone) I told her that My Groupon expires December 14 She stated if I did not get an appointment before the 14th I would have to pay full price would be required to pay the difference between the Groupon price I already paid and the regular price. My reminder came up today and I went to the website where I was able to select a massage time, however it would not allow me to complete the transaction after I entered my personal information. I got completely out and tried it again without success. At 9 AM I called the business and left a message. At 10:15 AM I called back and left another message. Shortly after that the owner/manager/receptionist/massage therapist Lola,(I only know this because the website said that to my massage would be with) called me and said the problem must be on my end. I told her I went out to the website several times and even had an appointment time but the site would not confirm. She suggested I find another computer to try it on and resubmit it again. She told me I needed to do it quickly as the slots were filling up. I advised her I did not have access to another computer and my mobile device is working just fine. I asked if she could please just booked the two massages that I had paid for. She refused. When I asked for her name she would not respond, there was just silence on the other end. At one point in the conversation she told me she had to do a massage soon so she had to go. I asked her if she was the manager; she said she was the manager/receptionist/massage therapist. I asked her, does that mean you are the ONLY employee and she said yes. I Pressed her to find a resolution for this issue and she said she did not know what to tell me. There was silence on the phone for about 30 seconds and I asked her again if she was there and what solution she could provide? She said she had no solution. Really???? You own the place and you can't make a simple appointment???? I was on the phone with her for 7 minutes answering questions about how I entered the information online etc. She could have book an appointment for myself and my husband in two minutes but instead was obstinate and unyielding in her conviction that the problem was mine, not hers! I finally told her I guess I was going to have to contact Groupon and get a refund? She said yes, I think so! Since this whole bad business deal ended up taking up so much of my time and energy I just decided to spend a little bit more time and energy letting you know what you might expect!!!

I had Marija, and I could tell that she takes massage seriously and works on her skills. She knows what she is doing and can tell what part of your body needs work and how to release the knots. She is very intuitive and knows just how much pressure to use when she is massaging you. She also has good customer service and communication, which unfortunately not all LMTs have. Let me also mention that I've been looking for a decent massage therapist in the St Louis/Belleville area for like 3 years since I was stationed here. I've tried like 10+ different places and they were honestly mediocre with the exception of like one other independent massage therapist, who I believe moved location. So I kept looking for someone local and found Holistic Massage and Reiki, and this place is a gem. I've had a lot of massages across the states for like 6 years so I am very aware of what constitutes a "good" massage. I feel like a lot of LMTs in the St Louis region got into the business because they thought it was easy money and all they have to do is go through a routine of "pawing" at people, and they have no intuition or deep knowledge of anatomy. Even a lot of LMTs and chains here with "good" reviews were mediocre because no offense but most clients in this area never had an actually good massage. So, understand my frustration. But then I find Marija and not only is she competent and know what she is doing, SHE IS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD. I am not going to list all the mediocre places in the city and the other side of the river before I found her (since this review is for Holistic, not them) but seriously, don't even bother with the other places, just go to Marija.
