When our family needed help the most, Wong Ah Yi took care of our newborn meticulously every day, prepared delicious meals for our entire family, and ensured that the mother received the best care and sufficient rest during her postpartum period, allowing her to recover comfortably and quickly. For postpartum nutrition, Wong Ah Yi prepared different foods, soups, and stews according to the mother's physical condition. She has many years of experiences taking care of children. She is very skilled in managing a newborn's feeding amounts, ensuring the baby eats well and sleeps well. She also patiently taught us childcare knowledge and shared her experiences. We are very grateful for Wong Ah Yi's care over the past month. She is friendly, talkative and worked well with us. She treated our family like her own. She would occasionally remind the father to eat on time no matter how busy his work is. Our older children also liked her very much. When her postpartum care period ended, we were very reluctant to see her go. We sincerely hope that she has smooth work in the future and remains happy! We highly recommend her!

I gave birth to both of my…read moresons here--my first in March 2019 and my second in November 2021--and both experiences were everything I hoped for and more. From the very first prenatal class, I felt truly respected and empowered. The midwives and educators took time to explain every part of the process--no condescension, no pressure, just real information that helped me feel confident and grounded. The birth prep classes weren't just informative--they were community-building. I connected with other expectant parents, and we grew together as we learned what it meant to welcome our babies into the world with intention and care. Both of my births were completely natural and 1 took place on the bed and the other in the tub--peaceful, powerful, and free of any complications thanks to the expert, attentive care of the midwives. Their calm presence, deep knowledge, and trust in the birthing process made me feel safe and supported every step of the way. San Francisco Birth Center isn't just a place to give birth--it's a space that honors families, nurtures community, and deeply respects birthing people. I'm endlessly grateful for the role they played in two of the most important days of my life.

I delivered my first baby at the birth center a couple months ago and it was the single best medical experience of my life (which is a high bar as I founded and sold a healthcare company and have a lot of experience in the space!). Like many people, I was hesitant to choose a birth center over a hospital--especially for my first child--but I am so glad I did. None of my friends who delivered at a hospital had the kind of personalized care, home visits, texting support, or thoughtful pregnancy and postpartum care that I received. I ended up coaching and advising my hospital friends because they just didn't get the same support. The birth center itself is immaculate, warm, and calming. I was able to move freely throughout labor without being hooked up to monitors, and everything around me--from the music to the lighting to the temperature--was set up with care. I was physically and emotionally supported every step of the way. My husband was also included fully in the process, and he was moved to tears watching how incredibly these women cared for us. The only reason to become a midwife is if you truly love it. It's a demanding, 24/7 job, and the system doesn't make it easy. These women clearly love what they do, and it shows in every interaction. I labored for 21 hours and felt deeply supported every minute. The education and classes offered during pregnancy helped me feel ready, prepared, and confident. I met great people there who I'm still in touch with. Postpartum care--including home visits and constant texting with the team-- was incredible because they knew me and I could ask questions and know I was going to get an answer I trusted asap. They helped me through full recovery, mastitis, feeding issues, and more. I will 100% have my future kids here.

It happened repeatedly (at least 10 times), completely ruining any chance of relaxation. I stopped coming for a while after that, and when I finally returned, I was told I had two massages that had "expired." That alone felt questionable...but what happened next was worse. I've seen six therapists total, and three of them shared some very intimate details about their personal lives during the session. A friend of mine who also comes here said she's had similar experiences. I think they should have a standard check-in at the start of each session--asking if the client prefers quiet, music, or conversation. It's an expensive place, and there should be a basic conversation about comfort level upfront. The tipping situation is also confusing. The massages already cost about 30-40% more than other places in the area because they're marketed as more of a medical-style massage--which I agree, they often are--and it feels like that should be built into the price. I've had two other massage practices in Oakland and SF email clients recently saying that, now that Certified Massage Therapists are legally recognized as healthcare providers in California, they no longer accept tips. One even said they believe a no-tipping policy helps support massage therapy being treated as part of healthcare. This place feels like the opposite. You can end up paying around $240 after tip, and sometimes the session doesn't even feel like a full 60 minutes because of delays getting started. It shouldn't feel rushed at that price point. Tipping should be initiated by the client at checkout if they choose--NOT prompted and pressured by front desk staff asking what tip you'd like to leave. THIS IS NOT AN OK PRACTICE HOW THEY DO IT. And not typical of other places throughout California. Jason, as the manager, really should take a closer look at the tipping policy and culture here even if it currently benefits him.

Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge.
