5/21/2019 ... When my prior oil companies showed their service or oil pricing couldn't be trusted I shopped around. Haly was the best in 2015 and I've been with them since. While I never had a problem with their customer service I did had a major problem when their contractor spilled oil and Haly sent someone to rectify three times. They tried to get the awful oil smell out of the house but it unfortunately stayed until the following heat season. May, 2019 we had a cold spring and when I turned back on the heater it made a clanking sound. Haly came out and found the blower wheel had come off center. 5/13/2019 cost to repair... $59 service call. Not too bad. BUT add on $25 diagnostic fee. Alright, still not too bad...BUT... $100 for MISC MINOR REPAIR * LEVEL 3 ... which I think is excessive Total $184.00 and has me thinking Haly doesn't value my history with them and feel taken advantage of. Now, I'm going to pay this of course but I think I'll check around this August for another oil company. 8/29/2019 ... I've found a new supplier. Telecon and email sent to Haly discontinuing their services. Interesting note: I've talked to a contractor today who said their customer expressed the same issues I've had AND they are discontinuing their contracts. read more

After 30+ years of using Haly, today I have decided to cancel our contracts and go elsewhere. We have 8+ oil and fuel tanks and associated boilers in multiple buildings, all of which was serviced by Haly for years. Today however, their tech that responded to our emergency service call was the most unprofessional thug I have seen employed by a home service company or contractor. I was told he would not waste his time examining our unit because it was only half the house that was lacking heat. My 8.5 month pregnant wife and I should sleep in another room, because he's got other houses to service that have no heat. well, that sounds like a manning and personnel problem with Haly, not a decision for a tech to make about what's more 'just.' Under those circumstances I could never make an emergency call as I have multiple heat pumps. When I inquired about our service contract, our history of having repairs like this completed, he reiterated (shouted) that he was too busy, and would not waste his time even examining the unit. I walked him to the rooms that were 49 degrees and falling, but he proceeded to become more irate as I asked him to at least examine the equipment they have been servicing for decades+, at which point, as he continued to become more irate I asked him to leave. Never, have I seen this kind of behavior from what was once a decent company. Haly oil was recently sold, and it is no longer the family run business by Bud Haly. I called the service center and asked to be reached by a manager, and have yet to hear from them. I would give this place zero stars! They are crooks and i will be turning them in to the Better business bureau! The rudest ppl work there and they expect me to pay a 1000 bill for having someone come out to clean our heater that wasnt cleaned properly the first time!!! They can stick that bill! read more

I called Haly Oil after another company - that I was using for two years prior - failed to deliver in the snow. Haly went ABOVE & BEYOND to deliver oil to my residence in record time, in the snow, and during their busiest time of the year. I will never even consider using another oil delivery company. Installed a 6000 AC unit in 08/2018 that has never worked properly. To date has refused to properly install unit.

Recently used Haly to troubleshoot - would recommend them to anyone looking got have a good honest company do repairs or maintenance. They were prompt, friendly and very quick to make the needed repairs. They used provided a safe non contact visit -used masks and gloves during visit- and kept me informed of all charges. read more

I had Haly come out after my oil boiler was short cycling. Customer service was helpful and told me the tech would call an hour before he arrived. The message never made it to the tech (Brian) and he arrived unannounced. Fortunately he didn't mind waiting a half hour for me to arrive. He was very thorough and explained his findings very well. I actually called Haly for a second opinion after another Company told me I needed a new boiler. This guy ensured me my 14 yr old boiler was in good shape and was not in need of repair. Just a cleaning and a part replacement. I thought the $99 service call price was high, but after working with this guy it was a bargain! read more

I made a will call rush appointment for an oil delivery last week and nobody showed up after several days and now I'm very low on oil. They said they could not find me in the system. They even said they would increase the price and charge me 75 same day delivery charge. Very unhappy with the service but somebody's dropped the ball. read more

Terrible customer service. Ripped us off with exuberant charges and in the process of "fixing" our HVAC unit broke our nest thermostat. Reported them to the BBB and they still didn't make the situation better. Stay away! read more

Like others, ripped us off with insane charges for simple parts with at least an 70% up charge. When asked why a $15 part at Lowes would cost over $100, the explanation was 'we have to make our money somehow'. That doesn't even include the labor charges they add on. Make sure you get a cost up front - even if the tech says 'they don't know', otherwise you will get unauthorized and unexpected random charges on your credit card for hundreds of dollars. Good luck calling the 'Service Manager' for an explanation - no call backs, no promised refunds, no good explanations, bad attitude, etc. This place used to be great, not sure what happened. This company went from good to meh. Pass on them. They changed our appointment time and technician without a call or email. They obviously have communication issues with their customers. Sorry maybe next time try a little harder. I almost feel like I'm dealing with Comcast. Then after they reschedule the appointment they are 1.5+ hours late. This has gone from a 8am appointment made 3 weeks ago to a supposed 1pm appointment to now 232pm and they company hasn't called emailed nothing. They are down to 1 star now in my book. I needed heating oil, and called Haly Oil, who I've been working with for 12 years. Because it took them longer than the time promised, we ran out of oil. They had to come prime the pump to get the heat started again. There was electric to the heater when they came. They even said the light was flashing red on the pump. However, the next thing my husband knew, there wasn't any power. They are saying we have an electrical issue, but the system is only 9 years old. Now they are saying it's a billable service due to having to send out slmeone. We did not break the system. The system worked fine UNTIL they touched it. Additionally, it took them over two hours to contact me (I had to leave work). They also did not wear masks when entering my home or follow the direction to use the basement door. I would absolutely NOT recommend them at this point. I'm incredibly disappointed in a company that had a loyal costumer all of these years. Next time send someone who is knowledgable. read more

They deliver oil regularly but make their receipts impossible to read. I don't trust this company. I am a renter and share the oil bill with another renter (it really sucks) but usually our landlord gives us a bill with the amount we owe. Today, they finally (accidentally) left a receipt. I'm very suspicious because of the charges I'm seeing. The bill says "multiple deliveries at one site" but we have only one oil tank. Idk...not sure but will post update. read more

Haly Oil put a new heater in my house and did a great job. They did what they promised and made sure not to leave any mess. The guys had to go through my house into the attic. They laid a drop cloth over the entire carpet. My house is much more comfortable now. read more

7/13/19 Something has changed with this company in the last couple of years. Always had very high praise and have sent numerous customers to them. Been a customer for heating/AC/propane. Have heating and A/C contract for many years as well. Just replaced A/C system last year. Now problems with A/C. Problem with last heating system check up. Very sad and wondering what the structure of the company is now. Looking for new company. Not happy with A/C - trouble twice shouldn't be. Again very sad. read more

We have used them for several years and have been very satisfied, but when I called a month ago, in early December, to ask them to top off our propane tank before winter sets in, I was told on the phone that the percentage of what was left in the tank wasn't low enough for them to come out and deliver. It was suggested that I wait for another month or so and then call for delivery after I've used more propane. As a regular and satisfied customer I was shocked. I've never had a fuel company talk me out of a fuel delivery before. I have a quarter mile driveway that gets snowed over, so I must plan ahead and I can't wait until the propane gets down to 40% before they will deliver, which was what the person on the phone suggested. In addition, there is a resident here who has a health problem and I can't risk losing heat. Until now, I would have given them 4 stars, but I can't do that now. read more
