Great customer service! So very sweet, we got a free lemon cookie because it was out first time. We ordered breakfast croissants with egg, bacon and cheese. They were very filling and came with an apple! I loved the hospitality, great little spot for breakfast and baked goodies!

Ham 'n' Goodys local bakery has a variety of baked goodies. They have heavenly lemon cookies that just melt in your mouth. Every holiday the bakery offers a special signature cake baked fresh each morning.

Assorted cookies: lemon, peanut butter, brownies, sugar, and no more chocolate chip

So I binged..I behaved for too long and broke when I heard it was a lemon cookie. Their lemon cookies are so addicting. Everything else was eh. I had probably had a dozen of lemon cookies that day along with a few peanut butter cookies and one chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are very fragile and break into pieces after one bite. I also had a nibble of the brownie and eh. It was too mushy. I loved that their were tiny pieces of nuts in the brownie but the texture was no appealing. You could imagine how gross I felt after eating all those cookies - it was a stressful day and I tricked myself to believe it helped. WORSE decision ever. Overall, great lemon cookies but that's about it.

Ham'n Goodys is really goody. I seriously drive across town for these goody goodies. Everyone raves about the lemon cookies. Well....believe it! They are sooo scrumptious! I can honestly say that I have never tasted anything like it. The lemon flavor is distinctive and the glaze has a smooth finish. If you like soft and chewy cookies then you'll love these. At $1 a pop you'll be glad you did. I'm also a big fan of the tea cakes. Actually, I like these more than the lemon cookies. At $3-4 per cookie they are expensive but totally worth every penny. The tea cakes have a rich almond flavor and taste like wedding cake. Oh the butter is just decadent and melts in your mouth like heaven! You can get the tea cookie glazed or unglazed. I prefer unglazed. They close at 2 on Saturdays and are not open Sundays. I haven't tried the food menu here (weekdays only) and the service has always been fine. The cookies are so good this mom and pop shop can probably afford to be 'just fine' with their customer service. Cookies make it all better, right?

More importantly, it's totally worth it. We got a box of goodies and they were all fantastic. You can taste the quality of the products they use. You can taste the butter. It's just lovely. My husband also really liked his latte. We sat inside and ate some of our goodies. We took the rest home for my mum for Mother's Day. My family loved them, too. Nice space. We also bought some whole wheat flour as a gift while there. Will absolutely go back when I'm in the area.

If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!

The shop itself is small but mighty. Super kind staff who will give you any info you request. There are candles, plates, cards, and a few local gifts for sale, alongside all of the tasty treats. There are cookies, brownies, cupcakes, single cake and cheesecake slices and full size cheesecakes for sale. My favorites are the oatmeal sammie and the PB cheesecake. I normally avoid sugar cookies but their version with the sanding sugar is too notch! We definitely prefer the storefront, as the items are super fresh and I love that they carry the single servings. Whenever we are downtown for work, this is our stop. When you get something from the Kroger Magpie's selection, it will either be a full size cheesecake or a sampler box of cookies or bars/brownies. It is hit or miss as to how fresh the items are here. This location now refrigerates the sammies, too, which seems to dry them out quickly. Bummer. From either location, we definitely prefer the cheesecakes, pies, and cookies to the actual cake. Either way, support this local gem!

I've had king cake from places like Dong Phuong so my standards for king cake can be pretty high. Ordering online was easy, pickup went smooth (the inside of magpies is cute and everyone working was very nice), and the cake itself was delicious! I got the cream cheese and it wasn't dry at all and tasted just like a piece of Louisiana. My biggest complaint is that I have to wait another year to get it again! But that's okay just means I'll have to try some of the other treats that magpie offers now that I know how good they are at what they do.

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.
