Everything is wonderful there. It is a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. It is so nice to have a chic bakery in Knoxville.

My family stopped in on Valentine's Day. It was busy but there is a large area in front of the dessert case and a lot of seating so it did not feel cramped. The employees were friendly, greeting every customer and answering questions about desserts. We ordered two hot lattes, a cappuccino, cherry cheesecake, 2 chocolate macarons and pavlova. We ate inside. Silverware and napkins are provided and food is served on plates and mugs, not paper items, which is nice. We enjoyed everything! My daughter said that the pavlova here is just like the pavlova she had in Europe. I don't understand reviews complaining about price or that items are too sweet. It is a dessert shop. Some of the desserts are so pretty. This takes time and you are paying for that. I appreciated the attention to detail. We will definitely return. read more

I got eh lemon blackberry tart ($11), Strawberry kiwi tart ($11), cookie ($3) and a macaron ($4.50) The Coffee macaroon was tasty, not a very strong coffee flavor. The strawberry kiwi thing was ok but weird. The kiwi part was good, gelatinized kiwi, but the strawberry swirl on top wasn't great. The tart crust was not good, so that went into the trash. The blackberry lemon tart was like lemon curd with blackberry compote or jelly, that was ok. The chocolate thing in the picture.. the girl said it was like a shortbread cookie, but it wasn't crunchy, it was like a cake cookie that was baked a few days prior. I bought the oreo cheesecake and the lemon cranberry cookie. Wow, I have a sweet tooth but the level of sweetness to both pastries was ridiculous. The cheesecake was delicious at first and not too sweet but the sweetness began to increase the more I ate. It was just okay. The cookie, on the other hand, was odd. Better than butter cream cake for sure however quality of the cake wasn't good enough worth $13 to be honest. If we are in big city, this price is understandable however for Knoxville little cake shop, way too expensive. I know it costs to make artisan cake and cover the cost but didn't think it's worth it. Wow! I pass by this place driving to CycleBar all the time! Finally today we decided to stop in for a treat. This place is just adorable. It is so fancy, elegant, quiet, and it smells incredible! The inside would be a perfect place to go and get some work done! They even have espresso!! My friend and I tried the chocolate croissant and Oreo chocolate cheesecake ( and got the raspberry pistachio tart and blueberry tart to go). Everything was just decadent. I really appreciate that the chocolate cake mellowed out the richness of the cheesecake... and the crunch of the Oreos . The chocolate croissant was also so perfectly put together. The buttery, yeasty, flaky croissant with the sweat chocolate center was incredible. A sweet man came over to make sure everything was good (I assume the owner). Not "American" sweet. Letting the fresh ingredient shine. My husband had the chocolate peanut cake. The peanut is not the typical jiffy. It's taste like roasted peanut but in thick cream form. The peanut flavor really shines. The chocolate is decadent. I tried the cranberry cake and lemon poppy cake. Fresh cranberry and one of the best lemon curd I've had. The slices are thick and sooooo worth it. I've paid more are some restaurant for a slice of cake that was not worth it. Their cakes are very reasonably price for their size. It's actually cheap for that quality! The latte is delicious and the hot chocolate is real hot chocolate. Staff is friendly and super helpful. The decor is so calming and pretty and Very big space. The lemon poppy seed cake is to die for!!! Went in here to pick up a last minute cake for my fiancés birthday. They had a few options available and we went with the raspberry red velvet. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. My family and I went in after an early dinner and swooned immediately. Everything was so gorgeous and tempting that we took an embarrassingly long time to decide on the pavlova, chocolate coffee tart, strawberry red velvet cake, birthday cake pop, and a few macarons. As a baker myself, I'm rarely impressed with what I find in bakeries, but I made a point to try a little of everything we ordered (I know...such a sacrifice!), and not one bite disappointed. The flavor combinations were subtle, beautifully executed, and never undermined by the American tendency to over-sweeten. At most bakeries you find that the cakes and frostings tend to taste boringly similar, but every cake tasted like it was hand-crafted--like it was a featured delicacy, not just a variation of their go-to recipe. I even enjoyed my daughter's cake pop, and I despise cake pops. The prices were higher than a dessert you might find at Ham n' Goodys or other bakeries close by (we spent about $50 total) but totally worth it. For a few dollars more than a Sonic milkshake, you could have a decadent pavlova or several macarons and relax in their quiet, stylish, and spacious dining room. The fact that Artisan Cakery is within walking distance to my home is going to be a huge problem going forward, but honestly, I think I would crawl there if I had to. read more

Prior to choosing Artisan Cakery my fiance and I had visited and tasted several more traditional wedding cakes, but when we tried a cake from Artisan Cakery it blew our socks off. We chose a layered honey cake and it was literally the best cake I have ever had.
