We came here as a group of 8 on a Sunday and I had just seen this place driving by and have always wanted to try edible cookie dough and rolled ice cream. The service was quick and the girls working were quite nice. I decided to combine the two and got the vanilla base with confetti cookie dough with marshmallows and cheesecake bites. I enjoyed being able to watch them make what I ordered and I thought the price was reasonable, especially because of the work they do to make it. The cookie dough is good. They let you taste it before you buy it so you know if you like the flavor. It is a bit heavy on you though. The store was empty when we walked in but after we got our ice cream the line was basically doubled around the store. I had the rolled ice cream with Tn trash cookie dough. The three toppings I decided on were chocolate & caramel syrup with whipped cream. My son had cookie dough ice cream with Oreo dough and his toppings were Oreo, whipped cream, and cheese cake bites. The ice cream was good but a bit pricey for what you get at $8 a pop. The part that really left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively, was when I paid with my card the kid working true register asked if I wanted to leave a tip. There is no service aspect at this establishment other than making your order, they don't bring your order to the table, they don't clean up after you, they just make your order. I went in to Knox dough with my daughter a few days ago. we walked in and the girls working didn't even acknowledge us. we stood there for a good minute or so before I finally walked up to the counter and said hello. very awkward. we ordered a couple of rolled ice creams and a scoop of cookie dough and I am not even kidding you when I say the scoop was no bigger than a golf ball. the rolled ice cream was messy and didn't look very appealing to the eye. they also asked me to leave a tip. I was very excited to learn that this cookie dough concept was coming to Knoxville! I've never had their cookie dough from their food truck, but knew I had to try it from the constant, positive ravings from locals and friends alike. The storefront is kind of in a weird little shopping center "strip mall", but right before Costco, so it's actually in a great location. It more than makes up for the weird location by having a very welcoming decorated storefront, that is appealing to families in its farmhouse decor, while also having board games to play with at your leisure. I was pleasantly surprised to see that out of the flavors they offered, about a third of them were already dairy-free! They do not currently have any gluten free options available yet, but with their growth, I think it could be a firm possibility. We got three flavors- TN trash (oreos, m&ms, and another candy); and two dairy-free options (not intentionally!) lemon blueberry cobbler, and blackberry mint. Everything is nostalgic in a good way, and the scoops are a decent size for what you get. The owner was also very friendly and informative about everything. It seems that Knox Dough will be quite successful, especially in a family area like Farragut. The only thing to watch out for is that their flavors are always rotating, so you might not always get what you want just by looking at the menu! Never have I been to any restaurant/food serving establishment that won't serve water. You have to buy a bottle. No bueno. The rolled ice cream is good, exactly what it's supposed to taste like (for those reviewers who didn't like it: you just don't like it, as some of us don't like mushrooms. This is what rolled ice cream tastes like.) That said...(more bad news besides the cheapskate-y "no water" rule): it's too expensive. In the past couple years I went several times to a place in a high rent area (Vienna Va) where it was $5.00 (and I believe it was six rolls, maybe five.) So $8 for four rolls --in Knoxville --just feels like a rip off. For us, or likely a lot of mom/dads w a couple kids --running a $35 tab (+ $1.50 for water throws it over $40) for ice cream will not result in many return visits. If this were five rolls for five bucks and a little plastic cup of water on the side it would be 5 stars review. The place is cute clean and kids working are nice and efficient. (Oh and one more thing--like the other reviews noted, a cashier is not a tipped position. Employees should be paid a fair wage for the tasks required of the job. Like the other reviewers, I too am weary of businesses looking for tips in non tip jobs, expecting customers to cover the disparity between the wage and job duties.) read more

Edible cookie dough is very popular right now so I was excited to see a place open up that serves it. I wasn't really sure what to expect because this was my first time trying it, but I was really disappointed. The store is very cute and trendy and the workers here are friendly and knowledgeable about the flavors here, but unfortunately, the cookie dough was a major let down. I asked one of the workers about which flavors she recommended and she suggested their most popular flavors, the TN Trash and the Southern Sass. When I tried both flavors I honestly could not tell the difference between the two and found the consistency of the cookie dough to be more like cake frosting. They were both so sweet that I was only able to take a few bites. I even took home my leftover dough and put it in the freezer to see if the consistency would improve but it was still too soft. Although I was disappointed in the cookie dough, the atmosphere here is very pleasant and the workers are excellent. This place also serves rolled ice cream, so I would be happy to return and try that instead. This was my first time ever trying edible cookie dough, so I can't compare it to edible cookie dough from other places. Maybe it just isn't my thing.
