Bev, who answered the phone, was super sweet and walked me through the process of bringing my car in with insurance coverage and with renting a car. She did an excellent job communicating with me throughout the process and her projected timeline to completion was pretty much right on. The work done on my car (removing the glass and replacing the widow) was done excellently. In addition, Precision Auto Body also lubricated a door latch that was not opening and vacuumed my dogs' hair off the front seat at no extra charge. Everyone at this location was very friendly. After finding my mother a replacement door, we got several estimates to put on the new door and repair the frame of the car which had been damaged to the point that her car door wouldn't even close. Our quotes ranged from $800-$1500 with people wanting to cut out the damaged frame of the door and weld on new pieces... another one wanting to put the car on a stretcher (no idea what this is) and solder/stretch out the damage. Frustrated, I took to craigslist... where I found Larry Brafford and his auto body shop. His listing was to the point-- he has a small auto body shop, works with insurance companies, has a great BBB rating and to give him a shot. I called Larry, and sent him photos of my mother's car and the damage. He wanted to see the car in person and didn't give a quote over the phone... this is when I thought he was going to try to bamboozle us; but nope! After having her car looked at by 3 other people who all demanded insane prices and had weird ideas of how to fix the frame-- Larry pulled out a hammer and like a trained mechanic or smith, hammered out the frame on the spot and attached the new door, electrical wires and paneling for $125!!! Are you kidding me?! I'm so used to being taken advantage of by mechanics, it's beyond refreshing to see that there are still good ole business owners who take care of people and make their business by word of mouth... not by cheating hard-working blue collar folks out of their money.
