I saw this place on triple D and it looked really yummy and have to say it was yummy as Guy said. The sandwich are super huge, u need to work out for a couple weeks to develop muscles to lift it :-). However it only got two stars cause the service sucked royally. These stars are totally food which was darn good. As a Brazilian, I was just browsing on Yelp trying to find some new place to try some thing that would take me momentarily back to BR. It kind of did but not for the reason I expected. I ordered a take out and even though the staff was prompt, they were not welcoming or pleasant at all. Felt more like if they were doing me a favor instead of doing their job. I chose a Cheese tudo with no ham. The frustration started at the paying time when it costed me $7 and I had seen on the website priced as $5,50. I'm assuming there were tax and whatnot. Oh well, I thought it would be worth. Was very excited to take a bite when I got home, but when I did so, oh what a disappointment! The bum looked and tasted like an old bread seating around for who knows how long. Seriously, I had to take out the bums and eat just the inside of it which was an okay flavor. Not as juicy or tasty as I imagined. I can say on a scale from 1 to 10 being 1, poisoned food and 10 heavenly treats, a 3 sounds just about right. If you frequented the infamous Rutgers grease trucks, then you'll feel right at home at Hamburgao. The concept is the same, stuff as many different types of meat, fried starch and condiments as you can on one sandwich. I must say that the ingredients here are definitely higher quality. I had the #1, which had steak, fried egg, corn, mayo, tiny potato sticks, mozzarella and Godzilla. It was a big sandwich. The saltiness of the beef drowned out most of the other ingredients. I saw the egg, but didn't really taste it. A friend got the same and thought it was chicken. lol. The bread was a bit hard. Oh, they're french toast was amazing. I'd recommend number 1 on the menu, the Hamburgáo (Fillet) if I'm recalling it correctly. I had this because I'm very conservative when it comes to trying new types of burgers. Absolutely one of my favorite burger spots, and I am not alone. Between the Cheese Tudo, Chicken balls, everything else they have to offer, I dare you not to leave in a heavenly food coma. We came here on a late friday night after picking up our family from the airport, so we decided to go were we can have quick food and was open late. When we arrived the place was crowded (small place) so we waited like 10 mins for a table, and after we seated it started to get empty. We ordered some burger which we waited forever like 40 mins ( the place was empty then), i though we were going to try something different (Brazilian burgers) but it was more about the same, the meat were kind of overcooked even though we have told the server we wanted medium and medium rare. I come here after games- it's only a ten minute walk or so. It's a small place, but there's always an empty table. I usually get the cheese bacon which is super satisfying and delicious. The pink sauce they give you is rich and absolutely delicious on the sandwiches. On my last visit I had the da casa, which was also yummy. I was very excited to try a giant brazilian burger simply because i never had one before. It was definitely unique and tasted alright, but it's nothing spectacular. Imagine eating a breakfast sandwich: egg, ham, cheese... with a burger: lettuce, tomato, mayo, meat.... plus other additions: corn, tiny french fries and that is essentially the Cheese Tudo from here. $7 for a giant burger is a pretty good value I must admit. I was very full afterwards. I might update my rating after trying other stuff from their extensive menu (salads at a burger place!), but as of right now lack of seating, difficult street parking, and average tasting burger i give this place 3 stars. read more

I brought family here from out of state and we had a great experience. It's definitely a locals place and not all the staff speak english - but if you are polite and ask for assistance ordering, assistance will be offered enthusiastically. The burgers come with different toppings, like an egg, potato sticks and other things that sound random but go well together on their burgers. They also sell empanadas with pink sauce. Big fan of this place. Been here and the other place at Kearny Ave a few times. Now this is how a sandwich should be made. Nice and big. And none of that ground beef stuff. The mystery meat, now what the heck is that from McD, Burger Kings, Wendy's etc. The sandwich here is made with real steak. And you know what? It cost the same as those other fast food place. Delicious combo of flavors. The little crispy fries, great cheese, not an American burger... Totally different. My bf and I both got #1 but I had them hold the bacon. We ordered them rare but they were more like medium rate but still juicy and delicious. The place isn't fancy but the service was excellent. Definitely try the crispy fries, too. For $20 (2 burgers, 2 coffees and a small fries), we left stuffed and I left with half a burger. You won't find anything else like this. I'm a burger man and this place makes great burgers. A simple cheeseburger costs like $4.50 and it's way better than burger you can find other places at the same price like fast food burgers which most of the time just taste cheap (which they are).
