When we go to N.L. and pass the old Hamilton market my husband always mentions how the grinders always were the best. My husband went into the new to him, Hamilton Market. He bought two grinders to go. One salami grinder and the other a BLT. The grinders are huge, fresh and delicious!! The bread is So good! We stopped here on a whim and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. We ordered two sandwiches and a salad. The portions are very generous. No skimping on the meat on either sandwich. Our service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had a small sandwich and it would have been a large at most places. The pastrami was perfect. Not fatty and not greasy like some places tend to be. The salad was not lacking on toppings or veggies. Very nice for the smallest option in size. Stopped by on our way to NYC on a Fri afternoon. They were out of roast beef. I got the small italian with everything except oil and vinegar. It was overflowing and delicious. My spouse and son shared a reg size sub, and it filled them both. My daughter got mozzarella sticks, and they were good too. Hope I remember to stop here again on a future trip. The ham, capicola, and mortadella was sliced thin & piled high with freshly shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, hot pepper relish & FRESH ground pepper. The best grinders around. Tons of meat and cheese. No skinny sandwiches here. One is enough for 2 meals. It's always the first place I think of for grinders. My husband doesn't like their crispy sub rolls, no worries, just ask and they have a softer roll. Amazing little hole in the wall deli that makes massive sandwiches (and very reasonably priced). I wish I could have taken a picture of my sandwich but it was gone before I even thought about it! I ordered a large turkey grinder which could have been shared between two people since it was stuffed! The two ladies behind the counter were hustling around as it was lunch time. Yelp is an amazing resource once again .... saw the 5 stars and had to check it out. This small grinder was huge. Going to have to give this a DO NOT EAT WHILE DRIVING alert. I have absolutely no self control and couldn't wait until home and this thing exploded everywhere ... anyways this was the best turkey grinder I've had in my life. There must have been a pound of really great quality turkey on a fresh grinder roll. It was so big I could only eat 1/4 of it and enjoyed it for 3 meals after that. The place itself is extremely small. Waiting around lunch time is sure to be a cramped experience. Think shed sized room with 2 tables and standing room for 3 small people while breathing on the necks of those eating at the tables. The place is plain and the employees are not overly friendly. Being born and raised in Groton Ct., I am a grinder enthusiast I listened to my friends and went to HSM to try my favorite ham grinder. The gal who took my order was very helpful and I was out of the store in 5 minutes with my prize possession . After I got home I tucked into my grinder! Now I am not a fan of smoked ham and I included this in my order, so........ I also noticed the ham was shaved extremely thin thus the description of their grinders being packed with meat but the quality is not there. I did enjoy the lettuce and tomato and cheese the bread a bit too soft for my liking. I love a hearty bread not too hard not too soft. Place is tiny and very busy on Friday- a little disorganized because they never asked for a name for the order and it sat there ready and I had to ask if it was made. Got the small combo grinder- nothing small about it. I could only eat half and it was very good. Lots of ham- salami- and veggies with oil and vinegar. Next time I will go with a friend and split the small. Prices are good- the place is no bigger than a large shed and has two tables to eat in. I will go back and try another sandwich next time. Great little place!!! We just went for breakfast, as the local hotel was not giving free breakfast due to Covid. Had an excellent omelet, great homefries and a nice type of wheat toast. This place will put those chain sandwich joints out of business. Parking can be a deterrent but persevere, it's worth every bite. And the service is on point too. I used to patronize them at their original location as well. The food and service keeps me coming back for more. Quality cold cuts and fresh bread never disappoint except when they run out of there sub and Kaiser rolls. But that's usually before closing for the day and it's a good sign business is good. I really love this place and think the sandwiches are amazing but I went in today, 4 people working behind the counter one with a mask on his head (answering phones, I get it..it sucks) and the other 3 making sandwiches and ringing up orders all had their noses sticking out. I don't know if that is safe while preparing food but I'm not going to be taking that chance for a sub...sorry. You can do what you wish, but if you are requiring me to wear a mask to enter (which I gladly do to protect you) then you should be doing the same. read more

Not a large place and you can almost miss it with the exception of the line out of the door. Went in and ordered a small sub which in most places is a large sub. Ingredients are fresh, bread is fresh and tasty. I bet they have it delivered daily. So yummy and satisfying I ate two lunches with the one sandwich . Just as good the second day as the first .
