Not worth your money. I could not believe how under seasoned and poorly cooked the food was. I ordered the prime rib (which comes with a salad and bread for about $30). I got the salad first and I chose the spinach salad. It was very good. I can't comment on the bread Bc it was never brought out. The steak came out with "jumbo" shrimp I added and also some a la cart sides. So the shrimp looked like they were cooked without any oil or butter Bc they were DRY and had a shriveled up skin and I'm going to guess that maybe they were jumbo until they got shriveled down. The steak had zero flavor. The horseradish cream it got served with was nice but I'm sad I needed it so badly. The sides picked were mac and cheese and asparagus. The asparagus, like the shrimp, was not cooked with any oil or butter. Those stalks were literally thrown on the grill raw and then brought out. Awful. The Mac and cheese wasn't bad, but literally had no flavor. When the bartender came over to check I told him the asparagus and shrimp are dry can I have some butter for them? He offered a lemon butter sauce for them and it was delicious but I got charged for it which sucked Bc the shrimp and asparagus were already expensive enough without adding that. Same for the steak. My boyfriend and I were sharing everything and he doesn't like horseradish so he asked for steak sauce which they didn't have. So he said bbq was fine. We got charged for that too. We went to celebrate my birthday so we also wanted dessert. I got the ice cream cookie pyramid. This was the worst thing we ordered. The entire thing was frozen. Like it was prepped at noon and we got it after it was in the freezer for 9 hours. I asked if everything was meant to be hard and cold and they told me yes Bc otherwise it wouldn't stay a "pyramid". I ate the ice cream out of the center. They came back later to clear the plate and asked how it was. I told them the cookie was frozen solid and very hard. They did not offer a different dessert or even a couple dollars off. That scoop of ice cream was $11. Smh. I will never suggest this place to anyone. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about but I loved going here last night. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The chef even came to our table and chatted with us for a few minutes. Very classy and it really added to the experience. While I thought $12 for a glass of champagne was a bit pricey, the rest of the food and drink were priced fairly for what we got and the quality of the product. I had the New York strip and my partner had the fillet minion and they were both amazing. The kitchen did a great job with the seasoning. The red potatoes were great as well. They gave us a sample of 3 different kinds of butter to go along with our bread and they were al very tasty. I'll be back for Friday night entertainment even if I don't get a full meal too often because of the cost. If I had to find something to complain about, I would say that they should put the cigar lounge on the roof in order to improve the ambience of it. Having outback in the parking lot took away from the experience in my opinion and i think they should require nice dress from the people coming in. Its a classy place. Went for brunch... way overpriced for what you get and their brunch menu is a joke for people with kids... Adults can get a 3 egg meal with meat, potatoes, and baguettes for the same price as a 2 egg kids meal with the same or only one pancake or french toast with nothing else... Serving staff was fine but when I say I am good with my drink another person should not come by and refill my drink... Salmon tasted like it was previously frozen and way overcooked. On the bright side their carrot soup was really tasty. Since they have been only open a short time they have some work to do. read more

Mom's weekend in Champaign. The wait at Watsons was 40 minutes so we came next door to Hamilton's. Fantastic Sunday brunch. We had prime rib hash with 2 eggs over easy on top and it was as good as I could have hoped for. We also sampled a chicken sandwich and a white bean soup which was hearty and tasty. A wee bit expensive for campus town but 3 of us ate for under $50. If you come to see your student and need a break from Papa Del's, try this place. I came in with high hopes and a little bit of caution(read the other yelp reviews). I made a reservation on a Sunday night, didn't know if would be necessary on Sunday, but better safe than sorry. Not sure if I needed them or not, but they did not appear to be on a wait. Ambiance is fantastic. The front end bar is beautiful and looks like it could be great for cocktails. Seated and our server was with us immediately. Took drink orders, they were out quickly. Also placed an order for appetizers, crab cake and Oysters Rockefeller. They came out quickly. I am not an oyster guy, but these seemed decent but I don't have much of a comparison. The crab cake was tasty and the sauce was even better. Around 10 minutes after that, our entrees came out. 3 filets, 2 lobster tails and a bone in ribeye, garlic green beans and au gratin potatoes. All the filets were ordered medium and the bone in was ordered medium rare. Filets came out Mid Well and the bone in was medium to mid well depending on the bite. They were under seasoned (not sure if they had anything on them) and unspectacular. It was late enough that I didn't feel like sending the ribeye back, So I guess I can't complain too much about that, but just be aware that they struggled with steak temperature at our table. The sides were unremarkable and didn't add or detract from the meal. For dessert we had the cookie pyramid and a chocolate cake. The portions were huge and we only ate the cookie pyramid. We each had a bite of the cake, the frosting was good but the cake was quite dry. Overall there is so much potential in the space and concept and the service was good, but for the prices, I expect a whole lot more flavor. read more

The appetizer, entree and drinks were amazing. However the service was horrible. We made reservations and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated at our table, then another 20 minutes to be greeted by our waitress Jamie. When we asked about menu recommendations she stated she didn't know because she hadn't ate any of the food. One of the bussers finally brought us water and bread. In the bread was a very long black hair that my husband pulled out of his mouth. He spoke to the manager and he apologized brought new bread and got another drink at the bar for us but it took 15 minutes to get to the table. During this time we still had not been checked on by our waitress Jamie. Our appetizer, salads and entrees arrived and no check in from our waitress. We finished our meal and had to get Jamie's attention to get the boxes and the bill. She then couldn't figure out how to swipe our credit card on her tablet after 5 minutes she realized she had the card upside down. The atmosphere, food and drinks were amazing but if you like quality service it is lacking especially if you have Jamie for a waitress. I was hoping for high quality service from Hamilton Walkers especially when your bill is $130+. My husband, Jake was so upset with the lack of service that he didn't leave a tip, and we are great tippers we tip 20+% based on service. read more

Wanted this to work, was looking forward to eating here. First off, I know ordering a Prime Rib can be a crapshoot, and I lost out.Ordered a 10oz of which at least 4oz was grizzle.The au jus looked like chicken broth. Since half of it was inedible, at the price I didn't want it to go to complete waste, I took home a doggy bag. Now I don't normally give my dog "people food" but this had no real flavor so I'm sure she'll be fine. One would hope after spending over $30 you wouldn't have to go home and cook yourself dinner right afterwards, but that's what happened for me. Didnt want to leave a negative review, but after talking to others about their experience here the consensus seems to be that it's a bit of a money grab for those in big cities staying at the hotel next door and looking for food in a walking distance. They spent some coin renovating and seems like their trying to make up with their prices. Not a place to satisfy hunger but if you're into overpriced snacks, appetizers or foo foo drinks this is the place. Now if you do want a good prime rib there's a place in Fisher that even with a Uber you'd still come out on top. It's the complete opposite of the place, looks like a sh!thole but quality food. Wow! What a great experience. We ate there for our first time last night and although we had heard some mixed reviews from reputable people, they have gotten their act together now. Steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection(we heard they didn't salt and pepper their meats, totally false). The service was top notch and far better than what I typically expect out of champaign. Byron was our waiter and he was professional and timely with everything, not a step missed. I ordered a beer to come with my steak and 1 minute before the steak arrived he had my beer on the table. Can't expect more than that. The prices I think I extremely reasonable for a steak house and we will definitely be back. The atmosphere, food, service and overall experience is top notch. I don't understand a lot of these negative reviews, so let me share MY experience at Hamilton Walkers. I made a reservation through Open Table for 4 people on Sunday, December 18th. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived and we were immediately seated. Our waiter was very friendly, however he seemed a little unsure of himself at first. 3 of us ordered cocktails from the bar and one person ordered a diet soda. Their only complaint was that the glass it was served in was fairly small, so the waiter had to keep bringing refills fairly frequently. The salads that were served had very fresh, green, crispy lettuce, house salads and caesar salad were both very good and nicely sized. My personal suggestion would be to add ranch dressing, as they don't have any. Our server recommended the Green Goddess dressing, which I didn't care for as much, however I can see why it was suggested as it is similar. Moving onto our main course we had prime rib, which was cooked perfectly (medium rare), another member of my party had a filet, again cooked perfectly. One other ordered the crab cakes which were very tasty. One brilliant thing I will say about the prime rib is that by 730pm you were still able to order medium rare prime rib. Any other restaurant in town that serves it seems to run out of the med/rare by 530pm, so being able to order and receive the prime rib at a temperature I prefer was awesome! The sides we chose were the mac and cheese, sauteed green beans in garlic and the twice baked potato (which was HUGE!) and sauteed mushrooms. All were absolutely delicious, however they weren't super hot, but at least were warm. The homemade ice cream we had for dessert is to DIE FOR! So rich and creamy-trio of vanilla, chocolate (my fav!) and strawberry. Many of the reviews i have read people complained about the time they spent in the restaurant and the length of time it took to get their food. In my opinion, they must not have experienced as many fine dining establishments as I have, because 2 hours is pretty standard at most higher end steak houses in downtown Chicago. This isn't Outback or Texas Roadhouse where they herd you in like cattle and you're in and out in an hour. Sit back, take a moment to visit with your party, enjoy the atmosphere and savor every bite of what is served. My thoughts are the wait staff needs a little more training, which will come with time as they get more comfortable with the menu and the system, but my overall dining experience was excellent! Couldn't give them a perfect score as there were a few small things that I mentioned above, but they are a sold 4.999 stars in my book! I will definitely be back, can't wait to try the other items on their menu! read more

This was arguably one of the worst steak restaurants that I have ever been to. I started the meal with an order of Oysters Rockefeller. After eating a couple, my girlfriend literally spit out a bite. After trying some of the oyster that that came from it literally tasted rotten. Then, our steaks came out and I ordered a filet, my girlfriends, a rib-eye. My filet was completely under cooked in the middle and charred black on the outside. I am a fan or medium rare meat but this was nearly raw on the inside. I am not one who likes to send food back but I had to since I didn't want raw beef. After it came back, It was even more charred on the outside to the point were the only taste I could notice was the one of burnt carbon. Not to mention that they barely cooked it much more on the inside. My girlfriend's rib-eye was sub-par. It was a very thin cut, which does not leave any room to keep the center medium rare or get a good sear on the outside. The only thing that was ok about the meal was the lobster tail I ordered on the side with my steak (which in all honesty is one of the easiest things to cook without messing it up). I also failed to mention that the prices there were absurd. For what was nearly a $150-200 meal for two, which was supposed to be a celebratory meal, this was absolutely THE MOST disappointing dining experience I have had in a long time, possibly ever. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will certainly never go back under any circumstance. read more

We decided to dine at Hamilton Walkers this evening to celebrate a birthday. I'll admit, I was a bit concerned because of previous reviews. Both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised. Our waiter, Teven, was cordial, attentive and professional. Our meals were very tasty. We both had the 6 ounce filet and split the asparagus and garlic mashed. We also ordered desserts to share, the chocolate cake and chocolate pyramid. The desserts are huge, one would have been enough for four to share, but we couldn't decide. My wife and I along with another couple went to Hamilton Walkers new years eve afternoon about 4pm..We just wanted a drink and then move on. We sat at the bar for ten minutes and no one waited on us. There were plenty of people behind the bar but no service for us and there was very few people in there at the time. We couldn't understand not getting any service to we got up and left. New years day I stopped by to have a talk with the manager about the NO SERVICE. I might as well have talked to the wall because he didn't seem to care. I keep wanting to like this place. From my time in Detroit and Chicago, I really crave that downtown steakhouse where I can sit at the bar, have a drink or two and enjoy a fine meal. Well, I must tell you, The crab cakes at Hamilton Walker's are the finest I've ever tasted...if you don't mind a 25-minute wait for an appetizer. Ultimately I think the agonizingly slow pace of their kitchen will doom this place; after our first full dinner there shortly after its opening, my wife vowed she would never return. I'm still willing to stop in for the occasional meal, but on my last visit the chill I got from the front door while seated at the bar was equaled by the cold shoulder I received from the bar staff. I get the feeling that the regulars at HW have formed a chummy little club with the bartenders, and we infrequent guests are not welcome. That's probably not a good attitude to project if repeat business is your goal. Bottom line: food great...endless wait...sit at the bar and they give you the gate. read more

One of the best meals of my entire life. Every. Single. Aspect was perfect. The appetizers we ordered were very thoughtfully designed and tasted fantastic. We ordered oysters (in central Illinois) and they were some of the best, freshest tasting oysters I've ever had. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides that our table split were extremely uniquely crafted and were so flavorful- I strongly recommend the garlic green beans. My stake was cooked to perfection, and our craft cocktails were great. My ONLY complaint- and it is very minor and changeable-- the dining room was slightly too bright when we were there. Everything else was perfect. I've heard others complain about the prices- but to me they were extremely reasonable- especially considering the quality of food. My wife and I drove from Chicago to visit our daughter at U of I. We were looking forward to taking our daughter to a high end place for lunch. What a total disappointment!!! My 14$ dollar burger was not only made from a low quality meat (probably frozen patty), it was also cooked on a surface which was not hot enough as the burger was more steamed than grilled! Horrible! The place was completely empty at 3:30 in the afternoon and this may explain such a low quality of food. Nevertheless, I definitely will not give this tourist trap a second chance. read more

We made reservations for New Year's Eve about a month in advance. Our reservation was late - 9:30 - after a concert at the Virginia. The ambiance is nice, although the dining room was a bit noisy. We expected that on NYE. The wine list is extensive, and the menu has a number of diverse choices. In our party of four, two of us ordered fish entrees, and two ordered steaks. They were out of one of the entrees. I had a sidecar for a cocktail; It was excellent, and I recommend it. We had a young waiter; she was very friendly, but struggled a bit with the iPad or whatever HW's uses for conveying the order to the chef. First out was an appetizer for the table - cheddar cheese spread with baguette - it was a cold dish - I expected something warm. My bad for not asking. It was OK, not great. I ordered a small filet, medium rare. It was overdone but good. They do not have A-1 steak sauce, but have house made sauces that are good (I still missed A-1). I had a small wedge salad, which was delicious, but should have been served on a larger plate to allow for cutting. We split a chocolatey dessert (called something with the word "pyramid" in it). It was just OK. One of our party ordered coffee with dessert; it never came. Things I liked most: sidecar cocktail and small wedge salad - actually half salad with an upcharge to accompany my entree. Things that I'd like to see changed: 1) service staff should pay more attention to detail; 2) steak was overdone; 3) not good to EVER run out of entrees, especially at a place this pricey. If you DO run out of an item, tell people BEFORE they decide on their order to avoid disappointment. We will try again sometime. read more

My experience wasn't horrible at HW but when you factor in the price of the meal I was dissatisfied. The service was slow and not good, it took five minutes for my wife to get her Coke, and her refill never came. But to be fair, it appeared the other waiters/waitresses were good. It was a good atmosphere for a classy steak joint. Bathrooms were excellent. But that may have been the high point. My NY Strip was good. Ordered medium, came out a little on the medium rare side but not a big issue. I was not a fan at how the pricey steaks did not include a potato or side, only a soup or salad. My soup came out lukewarm, and it was a shrimp/scallops soup but there was hardly any shrimp/scallops in it, just veggies. Double baked potato was great. My wife ordered off the appetizer menu. Her scallops and mussels also came out warm, not hot, and that is very concerning for seafood. Her lobster bisque came out hot, but that was because they forgot it. And it was in my opinion too sweet to be a bisque. I don't mind shelling out big $ for a steak meal, but this meal was not worth it. Go to Ribeye if you want a quality steak dinner. read more

Absolutely terrible. Seems like they put all their money into the bathrooms and forgot about the rest of the business. Very good cocktail. I ordered cheesecake as a dessert and it was terrible. The bartender asked me how it was and I said terrible. He in turn gave me a free cocktail, which I was not expecting. While I was in the restroom the bartender said to my Husband that I was the first person to ever complain about the cheesecake and that it was authentic New York cheesecake and that I must not be familiar with New York cheesecake. I have had cheesecake all over the world, and I assure you theirs is terrible. Dry, flavorless, no crust, no sauce, 4 day old berries scattered on top. If you visit, have the cocktails but skip the food. read more

If Ruth's Chris had a ne'er do well brother who glommed onto the family fortune to create a restaurant disaster, his name would be Hamilton Walker's. This place has prompted me to write my FIRST Yelp review. Like so many who waited with anticipation for the brown paper to come down to reveal a new gem, there's only a lump of coal in this stocking. Like you, I work hard, and when I go out for dining it is for a tasty meal and a memorable experience. First, we had an 8pm reservation and arrived on time. The 4 hostesses could not figure out when we would be seated and rather than directing us to have a seat in the bar for a drink they kept telling us our seat would be ready right away and so there we stood like awkward teenagers at the middle school dance, standing near the bar because are were no seats. One of the hostesses had absolutely no recollection of who we were and repeatedly asked if she could assist us. Unfortunately the bar itself is bland and uninteresting, lacking any charm. The bartenders had 4 of the big ugly plastic glass holders visibly just parked out on the bar reminiscent of a college bar. Finally starving and in a seat, we waited for at least 5 minutes for water. No drink order for a few more, although the waitress acknowledged us. Bread came out and was tasty and warm, but in huge chunks that required use of the serrated knife provided. The mixed drink menu is blasé; I ordered wine and a starter, Tomatoes Florentine. The appetizer came out on a large plate with sliced tomatoes alternating with store bough square slices of cheese and a huge pile of raw spinach in the middle. Perfect for a garnish plate for burgers at a cookout. Strike one on the food. We had barely started salads and the beef medallion quartet and steelhead trout were served with a side of scalloped potatoes. The beef medallions were cold, chewy and bland....and served without any explanation of the accompanying 4 sauces. The scalloped potatoes looked like they were scooped from a large casserole dish and thrown into a soup bowl. The trout I ordered could've redeemed the other failures--after all, it was billed as fresh--but the trout looked like a slab of leather and reeked of sour old fish at the first bite. From fine dining in large cities to off the beaten path sketchy restaurants in remote places this is the first time I have ever turned down an entree, prompting this Yelp review. I just didn't think my constitution was up for a second bite. This left us splitting the medallions, which is how I confirmed they did not live up to the description on the menu. As for the decor--not enough time for the design flaws--no one in the history of restaurant design has ever uplit a black spray painted ceiling. If you're seated in their elevated booths your eyes just keep drifting naturally up to that back expanse. I could've given them a pass on glitches of poor service, uninspiring decor, or mediocre food. But this place has the entire trifecta. To be fair one of their managers, Thomas, kindly listened to our concerns at the end of the meal and offered to take the fish and the tomatoes off the bill and brought out cheesecake in an attempt to smooth things over. While I would like to be constructive about their prospects, any owner who would come out of the gates with such an unacceptable product needs a reality check. I can only hope that this lump of coal might be transformed into a diamond. If the miracle does occur, I will write my second Yelp review. read more

We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time and immediately checked in; we were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time. It was Dad's weekend so some of that delay may be out of the restaurant's control, but I would think that the management would have planned better. The entire restaurant was uncomfortably loud. We could barely hear each other. The decor is very "private men's club". Limited mixed drink menu, modernizing old supper club standards to today's tastes. I would have liked to have ordered a martini, but there were none on the menu. Large wine and beer menu. Our salads were terrible. The Champaign dressing is overloaded with bitter herbs, and has no other flavor. The Caesar salad was overloaded with cheese. Everyone enjoyed the flavor of their entrees and the sides, however my husband's salmon portion was small, very overpriced for portion size. We ordered three sides. They arrived half an hour after our entrees. They comped us with a free dessert for that without our asking. The chocolate layer cake and baked Alaska were quite good. I might go there again during a less busy time to try to get a better feel for the place. read more

This was my first dining experience here. I made a reservation for dad's weekend and we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. When we were seated we noticed there were quite a few empty tables and wondered why it took so long to seat us if there were all of these empty tables. We ordered our food and sides and carried on through dinner. The meals took about 35 minutes to come out, the side that we ordered, however, came out 20 minutes after our meals. Due to the delay in seating and the issue with the sides our waitress said they would comp a dessert in addition to the birthday dessert (we were celebrating a birthday). We were a party of seven, but the reservation was for a party of 8 and one person couldn't make it so they applied a 20% grat that is for parties of 8+, no big deal, makes sense. Later reviewing the bill we noticed the two desserts (birthday and apology for inconvenience) were applied to the grat as well, a few bucks isn't a big deal, but I've worked at restaurants before and it's just not right. I spoke with a manager and she apologized and offered a free app if I come in again... Most of the food was delicious, however the portion for the salmon dinner a bit small, and the seafood stew was very greasy. Timing and management needs some improvement. read more

I loved that they are open until 2 am like a lot of restaurants in L.A., where we're from. Was excited to try them out. So on 1/23, I made reservations for a bday dinner. You have to use Open Table restaurant reservation website to do so. Our party was for 18 people but the website only allowed me to book up to 14. I received an e-mail from Open Table confirming my reservation for 14 people. So, two days later, on 1/25, I called the restaurant directly to make sure they had my reservation & to see if they could extend the number of people in our party to 18. I was told that yes, they had my reservation & they could only accommodate 18 people if they split us between 2 tables with 2 different servers. Told them no problem as long as we were all seated near one another. My name & phone number were both confirmed before we got off the phone. On Feb 3rd, the day before the dinner, I received yet another e-mail from Open Table reminding me of my reservations for the following night. On Saturday, 2/4, the eve of the dinner @ about 6:15 pm, I receive a third e-mail from Open Table. It was an apology stating that they were sorry that 'this' happened to me, it's a rare occurrence but completely unacceptable, here's 1,000 dining points for my inconvenience, etc. I had absolutely no idea what they were apologizing for so I called them directly. They pulled up my acct & told me that the restaurant informed them that they were unable to accommodate such a large party. I hadn't heard a single thing from the restaurant about this despite them having my name and phone number. I found out about this an hour and 45 minutes before our dinner time of 8 pm. That was strike one. Of course, I was pissed. The rep from Open Table said she would call the restaurant & have them contact me directly. She did & they did. I spoke to a man. He never gave me his name & I didn't ask. He told me that my reservation was not in their system that afternoon & that it had "just shown up" in their system that evening @ 5:30 p.m. Claims he spoke to every manager with the company & that no one has any recollection of making the reservation. I told him that fortunately, I have an app on my phone that records all incoming & outgoing calls (true story). Told him I can come in & play the call for him so he can hear that I did, in fact, have reservations that were made almost 2 weeks in advance. He told me if he could accommodate me he would be happy to but he couldn't. I explained that our party was now decreased from 18 to 13. He said he was still unable to accommodate us. He kept apologizing yet offering absolutely zero suggestions as to how to fix something that was in no way my fault. I explained it was a bday dinner & that we were looking forward to dining @ their restaurant for the first time but that this was a really bad 1st impression. Asked him for corporate's info because I fully intended to report this incident to them. He told me that their location was the only restaurant. I asked him who was above him that I could speak to so that I could file a formal complaint. He said he was the "project manager" & that he was the one I'd speak to which is why he reached out to me. Of course, he only did so because Open Table told him to. I responded that I would have to Google who I could contact otherwise because it was just unacceptable. I reminded him that I did what I was directed to do by their website in order to make reservations & that I also did a further step by calling the restaurant to confirm my reservation and ensure they had my contact info. yet I was still without dinner reservations and it was now an hour before the time our dinner was to begin. That turned into "if you continue to yell @ me, I will hang up". I'm an extremely honest person about my temper. Well aware when it's being exposed. I was upset but not yelling or being rude. He just didn't wanna deal with me anymore. My EXACT response: "If I continue to yell @ you? Are you serious? I'm yelling @ you because I'm frustrated? Did I curse @ you? Did I go off on you? I'm frustrated, I'm angry and you have to understand that, sir." He repeated himself so all decorum went out the window when I replied "you know what? Fuck off." before I hung up. That was strike two. No, I don't regret this. Moving on...the bday boy decides to contact the restaurant himself. If it were my bday, we would have gone elsewhere. But, it was his day & he didn't wanna hassle with redirecting everyone to another restaurant @ literally the last minute. Can't recall the name of the guy he spoke to but it wasn't the same person I spoke to. The guy he talked to gave us reservations @ 9 pm. Why they asshole I spoke to didn't offer that is anyone's guess. read more

Some of the food was very good (steaks), some of the food was not (seafood, salads, and sides), so it was hit or miss. However, the service was lacking (the service staff were very friendly, but did not have proper training) and the kitchen was very, very slow. We spent almost 4 hours for dinner because the food was delayed and orders were wrong (multiple orders were wrong for a party of 12). Each time our food arrived, the service staff asked us who ordered what and we had to pass some of the food (and drinks) along the tables ourselves. The manager (who did not seem very friendly and was quite defensive, bordering on rude) was at the table behind us because the orders had been wrong for them, as well, and they had also been seated for several hours. He offered their table free dinners because they were becoming quite vocal and loud about the poor service. We felt sorry for the servers who were clearly trying hard, so we did not complain (except among ourselves) and paid our $900 bill and left. By the way, they charged us for several items that were incorrect (we had sent these items back to the kitchen), but it was not worth it to make a scene. This was one of the worst meals of my life. I went out on a limb and tried the steak tartar for an app before the entrée. Tartar is meant to use the freshest of meat and to be done to order. What I had tasted as if it were made days in advanced and was on the verge of spoilage. By no means was it classic as the menu described either. The server actually argued with me on this point as I was describing my disappointment. Being a classically trained chef that has worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, I think I know what this dish is supposed to look and taste like...as it is one of my favorites! The rest of my meal was mediocre at best and the service was not good. As one of the other reviewers stated, I have never filled out a review in my life. This experience was that awful. My last thought is, if you are going to write a menu, be able to execute the items properly...a chef should be a technician that is an expert in the items that are on his/her menu. read more
