The menu lets you choose each protein as a pita, sandwich, or plate, which made it easy for everyone to find something they wanted. It is on the pricier side, but that's fairly typical for kosher restaurants. The schnitzel was crispy, flavorful, and delicious. The minute steak was packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the grilled onions and peppers. The portions were generous, and all of the sides we tried were excellent. The hummus and fresh pita were also standouts and the perfect way to start the meal. This spot is really close to us and we were craving Mediterranean food-- so thought we'd give it a try due to good reviews! It was really busy inside on a Sunday afternoon, but just went to get a pick-up order we placed about thirty minutes prior. Showed up a few minutes before the pickup time and it was ready-- but the pita was so soggy after taking it on a 5 minute drive home. The shawarma flavor was interesting & got better as we bit into it further to get to the sauces inside, but the soggy pita made it hard to thoroughly enjoy. I had asked for sauces on the side and they gave a bunch of the tahini sauce, which was meh. And some honey mustard sauce which was also meh. Wowzah! Definitely the best pita in San Diego. Tahini is amazing and hummus is good. Mom and I came here after for lunch post doctor appointment. It was a bit noisy for us but in waves - good waves because they're busy and it friendly strangely neighborhoody for a non neighborhood spot! I had the pulled steak pita with caramelized onions and mom had falafel. Sandwiches are a nice size with a good mix on the side. I don't know what's wrong about this place. I've been here more than a couple times. Not only one time but the last time i ask for more pickles, they ignored . Maybe it's expensive? Idk. Wow! For an unassuming little spot in a strip mall, I was so surprised by the fantastic quality and flavor or the food here! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The place was crowded at lunch time on a Thursday. The staff were friendly and helpful with explaining specials and menu items. Food came out quickly and was presented nicely. You order at the counter and they bring your meal out to you. They have a selection of cans bottled drinks, but no fountain drinks. I ordered the Arais appetizer and the schwarma salad. Both were excellent! I expected the salad to be a bit bigger, but the meat portion on it was large. The salad was super fresh and everything was tossed in a refreshing olive oil and lemon juice. I loved the Arais and hadn't had anything like it before. It was loaded with flavorful ground beef in a pita pocket. Great kosher food . I love that they have a kids portion for the schnitzel and fries and that they cut the schnitzel in small pieces for the kids so it's easier to eat . You can choose any meal to be in a pita, laffa or plate and choose all your fixings ( cabbage salads, Israeli salad, pickles , etc) . The only issue is that the area is small and can't accommodate large parties so it was pretty cramped for 8 of us to sit together . The most misogynistic place i've ever been. They treated me poorly, one of the guys passed really closed to me and touched my boobs. The men at the restaurant were giving me super weird looks. Is so unfortunate bc the food was okay, and i would've come back but I genuinely don't feel safe there. I am scared to go back. The server guy gave me bad attitude even tho I was buying one of their plates that was almost $30 which nothing wrong with that but his attitude was mean. Wow! Wonderful casual restaurant. I was blown away by the assortment of sides. The falafel appetizer is generous, and I loved biting into it and seeing all the green. Two sauces and some arugula filled out the plate. We ordered the chicken schnitzel and were crazy about the crunchy sesame coating. We had it as a plate, as well as a second plate with chicken thighs. The thighs were not as exciting as the rest of the very flavorful food we tried. We also had chicken livers on a baguette. It tasted good and the bread was delicious, but perhaps overwhelmed the livers. Next time will try them as a plate. The sides were wide ranging. Examples included humus, two cabbage salads, tomato salad, cucumber salad, eggplant, olives, hot peppers, to name a few. From what I understand this is one of the only kosher restaurants in town. The food is very high quality and even though it is a little pricier than places with similar cuisine it is worth the coin. I've been twice and was equally pleased both times. So far my favorite thing has been the Shwarma Plate. My friend in I shared it and we had more than enough to eat.
