We heard about Shawarma guys from YT featuring best food spots in San Diego. We went to their South Park branch. We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! This is probably the biggest wrap I ever had! Generous with meat and veggies. Their wagyu egg rolls are definitely must have! Falafel fries is really good too! All of these perfectly paired with their garlic sauces. My favorite is spicy lemon garlic! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu. It's a food truck set up and there's mini standing tables for alfresco dining. SG was definitely lived up to the title #1 restaurant in the country on Yelp! read more

Came here on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm. I ordered online in advance and just waited outside for my order. There were plenty of parking spots around this time. Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location. read more

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. It was good! For what it is. It didn't completely blow me away. I have had better shawarma from some random guy in NYC. I have had a lot of wagyu, and if no one told me this was wagyu, I wouldn't have known. It was like regular steak. The whole experience would be better if you could eat it fresh and not take it to go. The egg rolls and fries got a little soggy on our 3 minute drive to the park. I bet they would have been amazing if they were served on a plate. They do have e a couple tables, but they are standing only. The sauces are REALLY good. The jalapeño hummus is super good! Stoped by shawarma guys, and it was very yummy! It's a classic shawarma sandwich, the meat was very juicy and seasoned well. The sandwich itself isn't filled with a bunch of toppings, just pickles and turnips. I personally enjoy a more simple sandwich, but definitely worth coming by and trying! We grabbed lunch while we were in town and I remember this place had great vegan options. It was hard to decide between the vegan chicken cutlet or vegan cheese steak but since it's rare to find a vegan cheese steak, I went with that. The expectations were set pretty high, and unfortunately, Shawarma Guys didn't quite hit the mark for me. I'll start on a high note: the wings were excellent. I would 100% go back just for those. They were cooked well, and the sauce was amazing. After that, though, everything was pretty mediocre. I got the chicken shawarma plate, and it was okay, but a bit dry and nothing especially memorable. I also tried the chicken cream chop plate, which had potential, but the lemon sauce was added very sparingly. The few bites that had enough sauce were really good, but most of the dish ended up tasting like bland breaded chicken. The tabouli could have used a little more flavor, and while I really liked the texture of the hummus, it was also on the bland side. The pita bread was probably the biggest disappointment. It definitely seemed past its prime. I know it can be easy to treat pita as just a side or condiment, but at a highly rated food spot, fresh, decent pita bread should be a given. We got the half beef and half chicken plate to try. Trust me when I say--stick with the beef. The chicken was good too, but it wasn't as tender or flavorful as the beef. I'd definitely come back again. There's so much flavor, and everything pairs really well together. Dang, Shawarma Guys really hit the spot! I didn't feel like cooking dinner so decided on some take out. Ordering online was super easy, they also deliver. My order was packaged wonderfully and all extra sauces (tahini and hot sauce) were accounted for. Great job Guys! I ordered the Wagyu Beef & Chicken Shawarma Plate which came with hummus, tabouli, rice, and pita all drizzled with garlic sauce. The portion size was huge, I swear the box weighed over a pound! Quality and quantity, everything was delicious. Even the rice had so much good flavor. I loved their hot sauce which brought a sweet heat to every bite. I got the chicken and beef shawarma plate for about $20 and it really didn't have a huge portion of meats. I felt the meat was a bit dry and could've used more sauce. Hummus was average, but the sides of pita were extremely dry and not even warm (although they were served in foil). My husband got the beef shawarma pita and also said it was just average. I liked the falafel, but overall I was disappointed in my dining experience. Note they do not have any seating and are located in a liquor store parking lot. They have two small bar type tables to stand at, but those were taken on a Friday evening. We waiting about 10 minutes for our food after ordering without there being a line. The menu also differed from what was on their website, so note they didn't have any bowls (on plate entrees) on the menu in person. It felt like a cheap cut dressed up with a buzzword to justify the price. The fried deli chicken was also disgusting. The portion was laughably small. Barely a few bites of protein, padded out with 12 fries. The sides were just as bad: watery tabouli, bland hummus, and a stale piece of pita that tasted like it had been sitting out all day. All for $20!!! What's even more frustrating is the restaurant's 4.6 rating, which feels completely misleading based on this experience. I don't know how it's that high, but it definitely didn't reflect the food I was served. Overall, this felt low-effort, low-quality, and overpriced. If you're going to charge a premium, at least deliver something that resembles it. read more

Very excited to finally try Shawarma Guys and got a variety of things to try. Service was friendly and it took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. The Wagyu Beef & Chicken Shawarma plate was packed with flavor. The wagyu beef was the highlight. Very very tender. The chicken on the other-hand was a bit dry. I was hoping that both meats would actually be more juicy and moist, but between the two I definitely recommend the beef. The hummus and tabouli sides were also nice accompaniments. I also do think they need to give extra garlic sauce on top or on the side since by the end, it does get a bit more dry. We also got the Greek Wrap and substituted falafel as the protein. This wrap was HUGE and the falafel was really really good. I think this wrap was actually better than the plate. Next time I'd definitely get a wrap or pita to see how those are. The Lemon Cream Chop Fries were also a generous portion. I liked the lemony flavor overall but I felt overall the fries were just okay. It's not that creamy and so the fries end up being more dry and I found myself needing to sip water after every bite. A little more moisture in the form of cream or something else would help a lot. read more

This place is so good!! Someone told me to come here and it was definitely worth it!! They park in a parking lot of a liquor store and you order and wait for your food out of a food truck. Everything was pretty tasty. I got the combo which is a beef and lamb meat with chicken as well. The only thing I wish I got more of the garlic sauce because it was so good and I didn't have enough to spread over the entire dish. The hummus and tabouli were great to select as sides. We didn't end up eating it until about a half hour later bc we had walked over there from our airbnb. The fries were just okay. Very dry even with the sauce/gravy on them. The wraps were VERY sad looking. The pita was dry and crackly and there was maaaaaybe like 1/4 of a cup of bland shredded chicken in my wrap, no obvious garlic sauce or hummus, one raw slice of tomato, raw red onions, and some gross soggy pickles. Not my first rodeo at Shawarma Guys, but it is the first time I've been back since I started Yelp. And luckily I think I found the menu item I've been waiting for: Greek Wrap sub chicken for falafel. (The 5stars is based on this wrap alone) Wow wow. It was huge! So juicy from all the sauces. The falafel was moist! It lasted me two meals it was so big. Now I know to go into it with someone to share it with since it's best fresh. My partner ordered the wagyu and chicken plate and the lemon chip fries (to share, but I was too full to try too much). The chicken on top was good, but the fries were a little lacking in flavor and texture. It only takes us 5 ish minutes to get home so maybe we have to eat the fries right next to the truck next time.
