I made an appointment to see Mandy today at 3:15pm for a haircut and a shave. I was texted all day reminding me about my appointment. On my way there I get a text that they were running late by 15 minutes to come in at 3:30. I was also told by the Receptionist that I wasn't scheduled with Mandy. I told the receptionist that I scheduled my appointment with Mandy. She told me, that Mandy's customer had scheduled his appointment in July so it wasn't their fault but my own. Because I scheduled the appointment this month on the 16th. I asked to speak to the manager. And she pretty much told me the same thing. I told her, that there wasn't any reason for me to lie about scheduling my appointment. Then she said since we've been arguing on the phone for 5 minutes, she could no longer accommodate me. That I could either have the shave or the hair cut. They made a mistake booking the appointment,They texted me to come later, they called me a liar, and they took away my shaving appointment. I was basically punished for speaking up. Horrible customer service. Very rude manager. read more

This is the third time my beard has been done with poor quality. Before, when men worked there, they had them do my beard, and the guys did well; they used a razor for the lines, they understood what I wanted, and I looked forward to coming back. However, it seems none of the women use any actual razors, nor are they confident in their abilities, plus, there doesn't seem to be any consistency in their techniques. It's all just electric shavers, so maybe don't advertise the straight razor service. Nobody is there long enough for me to develop rapport with, so each time has been a gamble. This last one was bad, she left half of my mustache long even though I told her to not cut it short, so idk what she was meant to do. She cover my eyes for the whole thing, so I couldn't tell what she was doing, no water was used, and she completely missed the corners of my beard. Lots of cleanup when I got home. I'm a bald man, so my beard is all I have, and maybe the haircuts are good (I wouldn't know), but I do not recommend this place for beard work. Too overpriced for the quality. read more

I have been going to this location for around a year (on and off). I wasn't super thrilled after my first experience here, but I joined the grooming club anyway. I have been a member for over a year. I love the idea of this place because I used to go to HairM in Portland Oregon where I would get scalp/neck/hand massage, straight razor shaves, drinks, etc. Amazing place, amazing service (highly recommended). HairM advertised services and over delivered. All that said, perhaps I am a little spoiled. Here at Hammer&Nails, they advertise a 45min premium cut with massage, hot towel, scalp massage, straight razor neck shave, etc. In all the times that I have been to this location (multiple stylists) this service has never been more than a 20min deal. Quick cut, neck shave with 2/3 min neck massage, shampoo with hot towel over face + 3/4 min scalp massage. That's it! Today I was there and didn't even get the hot towel over my face or scalp massage! I spend the extra money for the added comforts. Since these comforts are pretty much ignored here, I am going to cancel the membership. I can pay a little extra at Supercuts to get "extra massage" during shampoo. It is a lot less expensive and the massage is at least 15mins with the hot towel! read more

I've been a customer of Hammer and Nails since Jan 2018. I am a faithful bi-weekly customer. Prior to visiting Hammer And Nails I had a very rough and dry feet however my feet are like new 100 bills since I've been a customer of Ms.Jenna, she has improved my feet 100% and my hands also.I get a pedicure and a manicure and it feels great as more men should consider taking care of themselves . Came here to just to get a little off the top and the sides but they ended up reshaping my whole hair cut and cut off way too much. Even tho my wife said it doesn't look bad I was really bummed out and called into work. I most likely won't be coming back. I wouldn't recommend. read more

If you make an appointment and don't show up (which often times sadly happens for many busy people Making nail, hair, massage, dr. appts etc) they do not tell you this at the time, BUT THEY CHARGE YOU THE FULL VALUE OF THE SERVICE. I loved getting my haircut there even though it costs almost $75 for me every time I go in, as a man, just getting a regular cut and shave... But when they told me that I would have to pay the $60 for my missed session in order to come back, I lost it. That is a business model that doesn't even help the barbers because they still won't see a dime of that fee they charged me. I'd rather say to the stylist I screwed out of a client for that time slot "hey, I'm sorry but here's a tip for the good job I know you'd have done". It's really frustrating because I genuinely enjoyed their services, but there are barbers that do a better job, for literally less than half the price, and aren't rude when you miss one appointment. They also made no effort to tell me I'd have to pay that fee if I missed until they called me 10 minutes after the time of the appointment to let me know there'd be a penalty. Y'all trippin if you think you can overcharge me for "decent" service and then also charge me for money that won't even go to the one person who really got screwed in that situation, the stylist. read more

I've had their "membership" now since they opened but today I decided to cancel it do to the decreasing availability of getting services when "I" have the time. Unless you book a month out basically and God forbid there is traffic and you run late you will find it hard to get an appointment on the days "You" want and are held to whatever is available, and never on a day that is convenient. I arrived 13 minutes behind for my haircut to be told that I would not be receiving the haircut that is included in my monthly "membership" but a quick 10 minute trim however your still dinged for the greater value haircut. I love the idea of the place and they started out strong but you are really at their availability not your own and give some buffer time between your appointments or work with the customer to move the haircut or service to after your other services have been done (Nails and Feet read more

If you love your beard do not go here. I grew a beard for 6 months to have it "professionally" trimmed. They did a great job until I said I wanted a little more fade. The lady working in my beard took it personal and f*#ked up my beard so bad it's gonna take another 5-6 months to get it back. They may seem nice when you walk in but they don't care about your beard. Go for a manicure or pedi but don't let them touch your beard. I will not be retuning to this location. And my fellow beard friends will not either. So disappointed after high expectations. read more

Pretty decent experience. I tried the manicure and pedicure combo since they were offering a discount online. The staff were extremely friendly and wanted to make sure my experience was awesome. They did offer me a complimentary drink which was a good twist. Each nail chair has its own TV with headphones, now that is a man cave for sure. There was only one issue I didn't like and it was the chairs. The huge leather chair looks amazing but you can't sit in it without sliding out. They would have received 5 stars but the chairs need to be replaced ASAP. If they decide to upgrade the chairs I will be back for sure. read more

Mandy is by far the best barber I have ever been to! Always an amazing cut and super consistent, never a hair out of line! Being a perfectionist myself it was hard to find someone I could always count on. I've had her do my haircuts and beard trims for years and today even had a nose wax done. I am beyond impressed with this locations professionalism, treatments and services! I encouraged my boyfriend to book an appointment at Hammer and Nails, because for the first time in his life, he grew out his beard & hair. Over the last few months, it had become unruly, and not having experience with hair/beard care, he didn't know where to turn for quality service. We live by H&N, and he decided to go in for a beard treatment. He saw LV (spelling?), and she was impeccable. He could not stop raving about her quality of service, education and vision she had for his beard. It is nearly a full facial, with the straight edge razor & trimming of beard and mustache. I have even gifted him a facial to a massage chain, and he 100% prefers and recommends the Hammer and Nails experience! On top of the fantastic beard treatment, LV suggested he come back for a hair cut later that day, and he did! Again, I must reiterate, my boyfriend is not one to pamper himself, or spend money on experiences like this, but her professionalism and atmosphere of location, made him want to invest in himself. Let me start by saying this was the first time I've ever had a pedicure. I've never wanted to be in the room with women and pull out my runners feet. I was very happy with the service I received here. Jenna did an amazing job taking care of my feet. The chairs were large and comfy, the atmosphere felt like a chill man cave, and the pedicure was relaxing.
