After donating blood down the street my dad and I stopped in for a propane refill. On the way to the car a man walked the new tank back to my car and loaded it for us. I, however, didn't make it to the car and passed out in the parking lot. The man and other staff rushed over to me and brought me inside to recover. They gave me orange juice to hydrate and sat me on a bench to recover. All staff members were super nice and we're constantly checking on me until I felt well enough to walk to the car. My dad is legally blind so I was very thankful that the workers here could step up and help me out. Customer service doesn't get much better than that. Thanks Hammond Hardware! read more

I would give zero stars if it were an option. I ordered a hose from this company, they immediately debited the money from my charge card, and canceled the order the very next day claiming they did not have the item in stock after listing it as available on their website. It's been six days running and I have yet to see my refund. When I reached out to customer service via the email address they provided, I got no response. read more

I've been going to Hammond Hardware since I was little with my Dad, for service repairs on lawn mowers,snow blower, and many other yard tools. They always did good work and the prices were real reasonable, close to home a neighborhood service hardware store But to my surprise they only work on the brand names that they sell, Big mistake to only limit it to just one name brand. With all these big box hardware stores, they are just not the friendly neighborhood service hardware store like Hammond Hardware was for a very long time. So sad read more

After years of doing business with Hammond Hardware, I am done with this place. No one in service that knows anything, since the "service guy" won't be back until Monday. I purchased a new Oregon chain a couple of weeks ago, one that was selected by someone in service, put it on my saw this morning. I cut 3/4 of the way through a 15" downed cherry tree, only to have the blade go dull and completely useless. I took it back, asked for a refund, but was told the "manager":said there was nothing they could do for me. $30 down the drain. Hammond Hardware used to be a great place to do business, but not anymore. Sadly, you'll find better customer service at the big box stores. read more

Went in to purchase propane refills. Staff standing around and 1 gruff individual finally asked, "Do you need something?: When I told him I needed propane refills he (acting quite annoyed and rude stated, "That's impossible!" What do you mean ?, I replied. He turned away , again mumbled something but.never stated the cannisters were one use and disposables. As a paying customer I stated Oh they're filled with propane and shipped in the mail. No response. As I walked toward the door I state , flammable liquid is sent in the mail? ,as he shrugged his shoulders. This business is in a predominately African American neighborhood and I was experienced was racially motivated. (The.entire staff and 2 or 3 customers were all caucasian. As a formerp corrections and police offixer , I know what racism and discrimination feel like. Shame on you mr. Hammond Hardware employee. I will never step foot in this business again! read more
