Hampden Yards is a one of a kind experience. It's a beer garden tucked right off the Avenue in Hampden, across the street from Bluebird and behind the WeWork church. It is a purely outdoor experience, with picnic tables on astroturf where you order drinks from your phone with a QR code. The drinks are a little pricey and the service tends to be slow, but you deal with that for the atmosphere. Like, I ordered a crush 10 minutes ago and am sitting right at the bar, but I'm still waiting. ‍ The downside this season is that they got rid of the lawn games - there used to be foosball and giant connect 4. That is gone, so now it's just a place to chat and drink. However- on the upside Glizzy is now the house food truck/stand. If you've never experienced a Glizzy hotdog (or sliders), run there right now and get some. They are a delight and the Glizzy King himself gives not just dinner, busy also a show. Spring has sprung and summer is fastly approaching which means we'll be relishing in all the outdoor and rooftop bars thr city has to offer. Tucked away on a quiet street in Hampden sits Hampden Yards Beer Garden. Bringing all the patio vibes to this little community. If it wasn't for the sounds of the patrons chatting away, you might actually miss Hampden Yards. Which is nice because it's off the beaten path from all the goings on happening on the main street. I loved the kind of garden look they have, and it was great that Hampden Yards has some areas that are covered to keep you out of the sun if you so choose. The drink options were nice, with various beers and some crafted cocktails. Offering a little something for everyone. Hampden Yards sells a few snacks but the Glizzy hot dog stand sits at the opening, providing everyone with a taste of summer in the form of a grilled hot dog. This was my first visit to Hampden Yards Beer Garden and it definitely won't be my last during the summer. read more

First time there and it was a nice vibe! Staff was nice and attentive. I came for crabs from Xash Crabs on a Thursday and they did not disappoint. The margarita was nice (I took some ice out so it wouldn't diluted it because it was strong). I got a meat lover pizza from Raffy's and I expected it to be better but it was still pretty good. I do want to try other pizzas from Raffys but for Hampden Yards, its a small selection to choose from. I can't wait to come back! Especially for football season, if they're open. read more

Hampden Yards is a cute little patio beer garden that I would definitely love to come back to with my dog, Chronos. They have plenty of outdoor seating you can order at the bar or scan the QR code at your table and they will bring you your drink right to you. The service is pretty fast and if you need any customization, they are usually kind enough to accommodate if you comment what you want on your order. The lighting makes this place very welcoming. They also have a foosball table, cornhole, and some board/card games as well. Street parking is very limited, however. I got the Hampden Wooder Ice for $10 that comes in cherry, passionfruit or blueberry flavor. I got mine in the blueberry flavor and it came with Blanco rum, orange-flavored rum, lemon, and topped with lemon lime soda. I asked for Prosecco instead of the lemon lime soda, and they did accommodate for that which I thought was very kind of them. They do offer some light bites. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and do not take reservations. Their seating is on a first come first serve basis. In addition to being dog friendly, they are also kid-friendly as well. Their upper deck is covered so when it rains that's the place to be. I will definitely be back with some friends for a good time at Hampden Yards. read more

I had always heard about this spot but never had a chance to stop by until last weekend. I came here for a fundraiser (Pong for Pencils) which was a beer pong tournament raising funds for teachers. The set up is super nice with a large outdoor area full of tables with umbrellas and an upper, covered pavilion with a bar. It was towards the end of their season (since this place is totally outdoors and closes for the winter months) so I was told their selection of drinks was limited. They only had beer at this point in the season and being gluten free, I was hoping to see some ciders or seltzers. The staff was really nice about it though and accommodated me with a grapefruit crush which was delicious. Toni definitely knows how to make a very solid crush! I really liked the vibe here and I'm excited to come back next season to see the place in full swing. read more

The pros: super cute patio, drinks that are DRANKIN, supporting local people, sweet and quick waitresses. The cons: not comfortable seating ( you are on wooden benches), the food is really expensive for what you get (but it is tasty), the non alcoholic drinks are 4-5 dollars more expensive that the actual cocktails. If you're wanting to grab a good cocktail after work, this is a great place to do it. But I wouldn't say that this is a place to do anything more than that. Great addition to the Hampden neighborhood! I came with a friend to check out Hampden Yards pretty close to when they opened, so we were able to get a picnic table. I could definitely see if getting crowded as the evening goes on! I liked the convenient ordering system through the QR code. It makes it super easy if you want to pay separately. They have a decent selection of cans, cocktails, and beer! I tried two different beers that I enjoyed. I've seen great things about their cocktails but have not tried any (yet!). Food-wise we ordered a burger and hot-dog and split it so we could try a little of each. They were both really good! They also come with a bag of chips. I think the food is a tad expensive for what you get. Also, I think they should make it more clear when the kitchen opens. We got to Hampden Yards around 4 and were confused as to why we didn't see the burgers/hotdogs on the QR code menu, but it was because the kitchen opens at 5. They do have other food you can purchase before the kitchen opens (pretzels, charcuterie boards, chips). It's completely possible the kitchen hours are posted somewhere and I just missed it though. I usually have visited Hampden Yards post bocce for celebration drinks, so my memories of this venue are fuzzy, yet still very pleasant. I love that it's open air, perfect for spring, summer, and fall. There is ample seating, plenty of shade, and a water mister (black girls beware your hair). They carry excellent craft beers, and just recently I had their frose, which tasted like happiness. Service has been expedient and friendly. read more

Hampden Yards Beer Garden is a seasonal beer garden in ... you guessed it ... Hampden. I'm giving it four stars for ambiance and location. The location is super convenient, and the outdoor-only seating is great - tons of tables, TVs playing sports, and turf underfoot. They offer a large menu of food and drinks. I'm not usually impressed by their drinks (overly sweet and not too interesting, generally speaking), but I do appreciate that they have food (including a charcuterie box, which I think is such a cute and delicious idea)! The service is good (friendly), but it's an order from a QR code on the table kind of place, so there's less interaction with staff than at other bars. It's seasonal - closed in winter - but they post when they open and close on their Instagram page. Definitely check it out when it's open and the weather is nice. I love this addition to the neighborhood! Its such a fun spot to pop in and have a drink and some snacks. I have been a few times since they opened and I always have a great time. I like that its open seating which encourages you to make friends which is always nice. The ordering from your phone and it being brought to your seat is nice, it cuts out having to wait for a check or staff but it also sucks because no one is then checking on your table. I love how they have seemed to master draft cocktails. Usually when places have cocktails on draft they arent well balanced and usually sweet.. These taste like a mixologist created each one. This past Saturday was my second time at Hampden Yards. I truly enjoy the space and love the location. The drinks are great too. This time I ordered the Eternal Groove and my sister ordered 'The One in the Bag'. We also ordered a pretzel, but it was dry, cold, and bland. The menu here depends on the day, but both times has been very limited. After a couple rounds, we decided to order food from another local small business. We saw others bringing food in and did not see any signs indicating that outside food was prohibited, so I picked up the food and brought it back. As we began eating, a waitress (who seemed to be a lead) came over and told us that we could "not have outside food and would have to put it away or else we would be asked to leave." As I stated previously, we had already seen multiple families eating and finishing their meals from the same restaurant where we ordered. She claimed that she had already mentioned this to those tables (one of which was right next to us) even though she mentioned it AFTER they finished their meals. This left an uneasy feeling so we finished our drinks, ate in the car and decided to go elsewhere for drinks. For the future, a sign could be helpful, especially because many places in the cities that are set up the way Hampden Yards is, welcome ordering outside food. Other than that, the other servers were great and the drinks were delish. read more

Such a fun spot for summer! I've been hearing a lot about the new hampden yards so I thought I would check it out with a friend! I came on a saturday afternoon, parking was street parking but decently easy to find. When you arrive it's self seating and staff bring out your order to your table (you order through a QR code). It was pretty nice weather so pretty busy, we had to share a table but it ended up being fine. It was all outdoor seating, some of the tables had umbrellas but ours didn't so we ended up moving after our first round so we could get out of the sun. If you move tables and wanna order more drinks make sure to close out your old tab and start a new one so that the staff bring out your order to the right table! They also had a couch option and some games you could play. Ok so on to the drinks we got. My friend and I both tried the Medfield crush, which was quite strong and gin-y but I like gin so I enjoyed it (and i mean good bang for your buck right?). Then I tried the Cushwa beer which was light and refreshing and perfect to sip on in the summer! My friend got an IPA that had pineapple flavoring of some sort in it? Not sure what the name was. But it was delicious. Overall it's a great spot to hang out and drink when the weather is nice! In one visit I had to shield my dog from an unleashed, unattended, uncontrolled doodle and clean up a mess left at the games made by children who's parents left it for everyone else to deal with. Loved the atmosphere, service was was great, draft and can beer selection was abundant and full bar drinks were on point and mixed to perfection. We had mixed drinks, draft beers, the charcuterie "box" and a burger. All were very good. The charcuterie box was more than enough for three with a nice selection of meats, cheeses, nuts, dried fruit........enough to bring home. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating.
