    - The Greek Goddess
    Sophie B.

Snake Hill is a fun joint with overall tasty food and a good selection of drinks. That said, I do think it's a bit pricey for what it is and there's a few things they could work on. 1) The sausage sandwiches, like the Greek Goddess pictured, don't come with any sort of side. I think a nice, complimentary side option of something even as simple as chips would really elevate their menu. (That said, the sausages are delicious. My friend got the Greek goddess and said it was amazing, same with the crab mac and cheese dog that I forget the name of) 2) I am gluten free. At this point, I know I can't expect every restaurant to cater to me... but I really do think this place would benefit from a GF bun option for their sausages. They label what sausage are gluten free, which is great, but I even told them no bun and they forgot to do that. (They offered to remake it and were very nice - so the service was not an issue regarding that.) I do just think that it could use a gluten-free option! 3) The inside is a bit cramped so I'd like to see if they could somehow elevate their outdoor space. As of now it's just right next to an alley that isn't super aesthetically pleasing. All said, I'm willing to try again but I think long term, Snake Hill could consider some things to make it tasty & a good experience for everyone!

Unique gourmet glizzies!! My friends and I stopped by for lunch on a sunny Sunday and sat outside at one of the picnic tables. Immediate good vibes from this place. We ordered an assortment of different sausages which all came out hot and delicious on toasted brioche buns. Note: The hot peppers you can add on top don't play around! They spicy. We really enjoyed trying different and unique flavors of sausage. Duck, lamb, pork, rabbit rattlesnake! Kale Caesar salad was also great and had the perfect amount of dressing. Service was great and friendly.

We ate at the bar. The bartender was attentive and helpful as we were navigating the menu. I went with the rabbit alligator sausage which was a pleasant treat. It was not gamey at all. Can't wait to come back.

Overall pretty good, just a few atmosphere things I'd recommend. Came on a Friday around 7pm. It is a VERY small place, suggest just coming in a group of 2, but max 4. There are some outdoor tables too. You can sit at the bar or a table but have to order at the bar. Very funky menu with lots of unique sausages so suggest trying a few! I got the Natty Boh sausage w/ crab Mac. It was tasty and filling, came on a brioche bun which was nice. But at $16, I would've appreciated some kind of side, maybe even a pickle. The truffle fries are great but they could've been a little crispier. As for seating, it's all bar height with no backs. Hard to sit for a long time. The tables also have no hooks for purses or jackets, an easy add that would give a little more space on the already small tables. All in all, it's good food, not a great value but tasty. Atmosphere could use a little sprucing but I would recommend it!

We love Snake Hill! Particularly the Frosé we get it all the time and the service is great as well!!

Snake Hill is always a good time! Great for a casual drink with friends-- the frizzy frosé is a staple with my friend group. The people are friendly and the prices aren't too bad, which is what I'm always looking for.

Snake Hill is an absolute gem in Highlandtown! I loved living a few blocks from it and still come back to the area just for it. The vegan hot dogs are spectacular and packed with flavor. The Mac and cheese is very rich and yummy. The drinks are always amazing, they even made me a hot toddy one day when I needed a little congestion cleared up. The frozen drinks are always amazing as well. The bartenders are always super sweet. Quick side story, they once saw me crying as I was trying to leave a bad first date and they didn't even make me pay for my drink after I insisted. They even offered to walk me home (a kind patron ended up helping out!) But this is exactly what a neighborhood spot should be like! The vibes are always so fun here and there's no place quite like it!

Was looking for a new to me spot - reviews fit the bill of bar food and good beer list. All an understatement. Killer ambience. Great service from bartender. Welcoming neighborhood vibes. Great draft and can list. Had the shore tots and dipasquale - both delicious. Also the best frozen rose I've ever had in my life! Will be back!

Delicious food, and the wildest art throughout. Great service also. We immediately had someone notice we came in and hand us a memo and we weren't at the bar. I'm not used to such good service in some of my DC, I'll be honest....Baltimore won that night.

Food: Hot from the grill. The Buns on the sausage is soggy and will break apart but the meat, cooked to perfection. The lamb rosemary sausage was my favorite. The rosemary isn't too heavy and the lamb is perfect. The rabbit rattlesnake could have more favors to stand out but, it was well cooked and still very good. The truffle rings can be smelled from outside the bar. The amount of oil is a bit much for my taste. Shake and let sit maybe. They were good just a little too much oil for my liking. Overall, many food options and many unique ones at that. Great pricing and good bang for the buck at a bar. Good job! The DiPasquale isn't a 'real DiPasquale' as they 'used to' use DiPasquale for the meats however, now do not so, I'm not sure what makes it the classic 'DiPasquale'. If you're going to use the name, use the product! Service: Dean was great. Energetic, attentive and knows his drinks. Suggested great food options and made a great old fashioned without the bacon (thank you) Ambiance: Great ambiance, clean, and collective. The natural wood and metal with the historic accents makes this place have a unique presentation. I'd say this is a dive bar but, it doesn't quite qualify. There's no musty old mop water smell with old carpet, it's the total opposite. Not that it's bad, it's just hard to give this place a 'clique' which is even better, it's unique to its own and that's what makes it so great. Handling/Standards: Clean, well kept and no sticky bar at least at 6pm on a Wednesday. Bathrooms are clean and the place is well kept. I can't speak to the kitchen as you don't see much but the bar staff was sanitary and well put together grooming standards for not having uniforms.

TLDR: Eccentric sausages and a great beer selection. The perfect neighborhood hangout. Vibe: 4/5. Located in Highlandtown, Snake Hill is the epitome of the neighborhood hangout. Setup out of a row home, the bar is relatively small, with a 10 seater bar at the front and 2 long community high top tables in the rear. During peak hours, the small space could prove to be problematic, especially if coming with a large group. During warmer months, they have a few picnic tables available surrounding the building. The kitchen is located out in the open behind the bar so the wonderful smells of freshly grilled meat tubes fills the bar. Service: 5/5. The staff at Snake Hill were great from start to finish. There are no waiters at the bar, so when you are ready to order, you must go to any of the friendly bartenders to place your order. If ordering food, they utilize vibrating pagers to alert you when your order is ready for pickup at the bar. This system works great, especially if sitting outside. During our visit, we sat at the communal tables in the back and had no problems getting our beers and food in record time. Food: 5/5. Some of the best, most creative sausage blends in Baltimore. They are most famous for their pho dog, which is a blend of pork, Thai basil, star anise and Sriracha that accurately mimics the flavor profile of a bowl of pho. They also have exotic meat sausages for the more adventurous eaters, such as ghost pepper alligator and rabbit rattlesnake. One thing I definitely appreciate about Snake Hill is their social media presence, as they regularly announce special menu items. Overall, I highly recommend swinging by Snake Hill for a fresh glizzy and a beer, or 3!

I enjoyed my visit here this weekend! I arrived around 1pm on Saturday and it was not crowded - there was plenty of indoor space, which was good because it is hot out! I had a lot of trouble deciding what to get - everything sounded good. The menu was more extensive than what they had on their website, too. I ended up with the Pho Real sandwich, which was good. I think I would try something else next time because it was dominated by hoisin sauce, which I like but I felt it drowned out the other flavors a bit. But the sausage itself had a good flavor and I enjoyed it. The fried green beans were my favorite. I would go back just for those! Get the dipping sauce (I think it was Sriracha mayo maybe?) Lots of other things looked good so i would like to come back and try others!

Snake Hill is a homey neighborhood bar in Highlandtown. I love the eclectic feel of the bar area and the creative drinks. They seriously have some awesome cocktail concoctions that always seem to be changing and elevating. They usually have weekly specials for food and drinks so you can try something new every time. Stand outs on the menu include their wings, their mac n cheese, and of course, the sausage. Now, I'm not really a sausage kinda gal. I don't really eat red meat so it's never been my thing. However, Snake Hill grill has a variety of chicken, veggie, and "exotic" sausages so that even the most sausage averse person can probably find something they like. The sausage comes on a brioche bun and you get two free toppings. Plus, they have plenty of fun mustard to dress up your dog with. I chose the mango and habanero chicken sausage with hots and sauerkraut and dressed it up with old bay mustard and the bourbon mustard. Delish! Note: I got it without the bun since I stay away from gluten however, the mango habanero sausage is not GF because of the breadcrumbs. There are clearly marked GF sausage options on the menu though! My friend got the mac and cheese and we shared an order of small fries which came with a spicy mayo. My friend added crab to his mac and cheese but it honestly just looked like Old Bay was sprinkled on top - no crab meat to be seen... probably not worth the $4 upcharge. The fries were hot and thick cut and the small serving size was still enough to share. The cocktails were the Hi-C special and tasted just like an adult version of Hi-C! Overall, I'd definitely come back for more food and drinks. My only suggestion would be to add a GF bun to the menu so GF folks can enjoy the GF sausages as they are intended to be served. Cheers!

Checked out this hidden gem with the boys and had a great experience. I have tried the Bmore OG Polish sausage with the "works sauce" and absolutely loved the flavors. Also had to order the onion rings since I could never resist them, which was definitely the right choice; they were crispy, and the portion was quite good. They do have a large selection of beers too. Unfortunately, they don't have table service, and ordering at the bar can take a long time, even when it is not that crowded. This is understandable for a small neighborhood spot like this but be prepared to wait for your friends when they head to the bar to order something. Highly recommended if you're looking for a chill neighborhood spot with great food and drink options.

And I love that they give back to the community in areas such as education, community and philanthropy. Stopped in this past Saturday with a bunch of my gym friends. I love that their tap list offers a little bit of everything for everyone, from classic lagers and IPA to house ciders. I am a Pilsner girl, so their Pilsner was my fave. I love that they do weekly events such as Trivia and open mic nights to name a few as well as host a few several food trucks out back. Oh and this is the spot where they have that really nice flea market as well. You have to check their Instagram page to see which food trucks will be serving food. Saturday they had empanadas from Aru Aru, which were very yummy and made fresh to order. Best spot if you are a beer connoisseur, great place for happy hours and is accommodating for large parties. Plus you bring your own cards and board games to play as well. I will so definitely return.

The old church and architecture is so warm and inviting-- it was still decorated and lit for Christmas so it felt extra festive. It WAS weird to see the brew tanks at the front of the old church, where the altar would have been. But it also places the beer on the altar of our Friday night so I was OK with that. I had an American Pale Ale, the husband had a Kolsch. My beer was exceptional and delicious. My husband said the kolsch was OK. They also have a cute space with books and board games! As well as a cool merchandise wall with excellent cool t-shirts. I had to restrain myself. There is no kitchen or food served here. Order at the bar and sit where you want, there are plenty of tables and a lot of elbow space. The folks at the bar are Super Nice and you should tip them well. They told me there is usually a food truck that shows up at an undisclosed time in the evening. We did order some fantastic pretzels (w/ smoked gouda) and waited some more but ultimately had to go find a meal elsewhere. We will be back, perhaps in warmer weather to wait out the food truck and have more beer. Also, we were there for happy hour so our beers were $5! Thank you to all of the kind people at The Ministry of Brewing! We will be back.

I've been eyeing this place for a bit and due to the nature of walk ins hadn't been able to make it in. They recently opened up reservations on Tock so I snapped one up. Even if you don't really drink this pub is still a nice dinner/date night outing. Will say some of the seating was a little uncomfortable (both my bf and the gentlemen next to us are over 6 feet tall but sat on tiny chair/stools) but that might have been the only negative. We were not super hungry so we decided to share a lighter plate and an entree. While the menu does change almost day to day sometimes I do believe the cheese and chutney plate is a constant. Two cheeses, some chutney, butter, spicy brown english mustard and rye bread. So simple but so delicious. I could have eaten that by myself. For the entree we split a half poussin (a quail?) which was served with borlatti beans and an aioli. Again everything was really yummy. I'd come back to the Wren again. We had a nice time and even though we don't really drink (it is primarily a pub and I am sure people there to grab drinks only love their experience) I enjoyed the food. I understand why this place is so highly regarded.
