The Manhattan location of Hampton Chutney was great, the Amagansett location is awful. I was there a while ago and the owner really needs to hire new staff because they will run your business into the ground. The girl who appeared very in charge does not know how to treat customers. The chutney was completely curdled and when I brought it to her attention she was not apologetic at all and seemed annoyed, then I paid for more thinking it would not be curdled and she took my money and gave me the same curdled chutney! So this person is selling bad food, even after she was notified it was bad, and is being obnoxious about it. Also the dosas were not even heated properly as all the other reviews stated. If you haven't already hired a new manager (or who ever that obnoxious girl was) you really need to if you value your business. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but now I will not go back. read more

With pandemic precautions, stopping for lunch has become something of a nightmare. They're only taking orders over the phone, which is regularly busy. Another option is to use a confusing post mates app. Then one man calls out all the orders from a doorway. It would be more effective to have a person stationed out front taking orders. My go-to weekend spot ever since I moved out east. I love the #6 and #9. The dosas are the perfect mix of satisfying and healthy and they will fill you up! I love the mango lassi and cardamom coffee. It's really rare to find a place to grab food in the hamptons that is both affordable and high quality and this place nails both.
