I'm tickled by all the reviews that inform us that this is "Americanized Chinese food," as if there wasn't an entire network of these restaurants and that wasn't the norm. The prices here seem to incrementally increase, but the food is still relatively inexpensive and it is exactly what you think it is. Get: The shrimp egg rolls here are old school, loaded with shrimp and quite tasty. Meh: The hot and sour soup is loaded with stuff (mushrooms, tofu, egg, bamboo shoots, what I think is pork), but it's not really hot or sour and it has too much corn starch. I'd probably try something else next time. I ordered the General Tso's chicken because of someone else's review, and it was fine. But again, I'd probably try something else next time. It was loaded with crisp, not overcooked broccoli (yay!) and the texture was good. But again, not spicy. There was an overabundance of corn starch and sweetness, but it held up well for leftovers. I will definitely work my way around this menu and find my favorites. This place has been around forever but I hadn't tried it before. I like that they don't give you a thousand plastic utensils. You pick up sauces at a side counter and there are chopsticks in the drawers. There are no tables to eat inside, but you can take it home or eat in the park nearby. Nice guys but the food is not good. I really want to give a better review but the food ranges from mediocre to just bad. And it's not cheap. And they only accept cash while providing a high fee ATM on sight. Unfortunately not many other options for Chinese so I guess they don't feel any pressure to be better. read more

Horrible food. Large vegetable fried rice had a couple green peas and carrots probably frozen food and a few slivers of barely cooked onions. I couldn't eat one fork full and I was so hungry. I waited to go there a second time before leaving a review because everyone deserves a second chance. Not only are they way overpriced but the food is just the worst. Both times it was over $80 for me alone and the amount of salt and or MSG was off the chart, but the food was cold and saturated with grease. They won't be getting my money again. Sing City is my new go-to Chinese place. The Southampton Chinese food locations leave much to be desired; my family and I dealt with years of inconsistency. Having visited Sing City several times now, I applaud them for their speed, customer service, and quality. The food is ALWAYS hot and delicious. The prices are a little high for Chinese, but it's worth shelling out a couple of extra bucks when you know what you're getting is going to taste great. I believe that you pay for what you get here! This was the only late night place open (Hamptons late is something I will never get used to). So we weren't also expecting it to be some of the most enjoyable Chinese food we've had in a long time! The style was slightly different than the takeout I'm used to; for example the steamed dumplings are like a cross between a bun and a jiaozi rather than one or the other, but such a good texture. The moo shu pork and orange chicken were also great, and the egg drop soup was AMAZING! The staff there was also so patient as we raced across town while they got ready to close. read more

I grew up on Shelter Island so I know Sing City well. It's technically "just like every other Chinese food place" but it's cleaner and they are super nice. The prices are a bit higher than your average joe Chinese joint (you're in the Hamptons after all). The dumplings and the chicken & broccoli in brown sauce are my favorites, but they do most dishes quite well. The House Special Duck is awesome (great portion, perfectly crispy skin, served over fresh veggies)! Eggs rolls are true NY-Chinese food egg rolls. Living on the west coast I miss these SO much, they're only like this in NY. Sing City is the only option for Chinese in Sag, but luckily it's better than average. read more

This is the best Chinese food spot in Sag Harbor. Well, it's the only Chinese food spot, but it's definitely a good one. I go there at least once a week for lunch and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. The people there are always nice to me. They know my favorite order and the special way I like it cooked without me having to say it each time. It's the little details like this that really make a difference to me. I get the General Tso's chicken lunch special almost exclusively when I go there, but I've also had the sesame shrimp, the egg foo young, the fried dumplings, and the sesame chicken. They are all great, especially when you mention how you prefer them to be cooked. They don't deliver or accept credit cards, unfortunately, but those are minor inconveniences. Neither rain nor snow have ever stopped me from taking the 5 minute drive there, and I'm always glad that I did. read more

Started going to Sing City, recently find the food, tasty and fresh. Asked for young Chow fried rice, this past weekend, found it was one of the better fried rice, that I've had from a Chinese take-out, had meat and shrimp, all the way through the bottom of the box. The tofu and broccoli in brown sauce, had large chunks of tofu, a lot bigger than any other Chinese restaurant that I've ordered from. Mediocre chinese takeout but at Hamptons prices. I've tried them 4-5 times in the last three years. A few times the food went right in the trash as it was awful. The other times it was acceptable. Being the only Chinese takeout around I've given them more chances than I should. Service is not at all friendly.
