Royal Funeral Home employees were very caring, supportive, and professional. They communicate clearly and promptly, kept us up to date during the process. They reply / return calls timely. They provide all services and options I could think of and are flexible with aspects of your service. My father's presentation was well done. You can choose options that reflect the respect your loved one deserves and fits your budget. Their facilities are nice, modern, and well kept. The chapel is spacious and the audio system is professional quality. We were pleased with how my father was presented and the support of the employees during the service. Again, I am especially pleased with the care they take, the support they provide, and quality service.

The Mercedes Eurovan was perfect for transporting relatives from the service to the repast and added an elegant touch to an otherwise unspeakable day when my mother passed; the white limousines that were used during my father's services were magnificent and well-cleaned. The staff is professional, unusually kind, and prompt. The way they addressed my brother and I during each interaction was exemplary. The annual candlelight memorial service was elegant and well-planned also. Why use anyone else but Royal? They will handle my last rites as well.

Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory was established 156 years ago. The know this business and…read moreknow it well! My family have used Laughlin for my sweet Grandmother's cremation and burial service; my beloved nephew's re-burial service from Florida to Maple Hill Cemetary when my sister and her husband relocated to Huntsville permanently and purchased grave sites for themselves at Maple Hill, and wanted their beloved son to be buried in the same area as they will be; and most recently, for my sweet Momma's cremation and burial. Somehow, there is a connection between Miss Sarah Chappell and my family, although we went to Butler High School, and I would imagine Miss Sarah went to Huntsville. My sister told me the connection, it just escapes me. Miss Sarah is knowledgeable, personable, and helpful! I met her at my nephew's reburial service. From an outsider's perspective looking in at my sister and brother-in-law's implementation of my nephew's reburial from FL to Maple Hill Cemetary in Huntsville, there were a lot of "moving parts" and logistics involved this effort! Miss Sarah was instrumental with removing nephew from his current gravesite, transporting him to Huntsville, replacing him in a new casket because the old one had deteriorated, transporting him to Maple Hill Cemetary, and then, [Phew! Thinking of all these steps, and the various laws and regulations that must be adhered to is wearing me out!] successfully holding a re-burial service for him, and likely, she and her team helped with sister's selection of his beautiful tombstone marker and its install! Miss Sarah and team pulled this entire effort off without a hitch, always remaining sensitive to the emotions and the gravity of this unusual circumstance. Fun local trivia: It was fun to see former Mayor Loretta Spencer was a former co-owner of Laughlin and is now shown on their website as being Secretary/Treasurer of Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory. It was also interesting to see how the funeral home served our community with numerous grants they gifted to local non-profits in honor of their 150th year in business. The Laughlin grants totaled 54,620.50!!! Well done, Laughlin! A lot of back work goes into gifting those grants! Although it is not something we look forward to, I know Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory will always be ready, willing, and able with the utmost professionalism to help out in any way that my family or I need. Thanks Laughlin!

In this case, I feel it's important to share our experience to help others avoid going through what we did with this funeral home. On Thursday, March 6th, Alec and his family lost Diane, their beloved grandmother, mother, and wife. Diane wished for her funeral service to be held at Elliott-Brown Service Funeral Home in Moulton, Alabama, as her late husband and son's funerals had been held there. Diane's husband, Dan, honored her wishes, and her service was held on Monday, March 10th. However, what was meant to be a day of celebration and honoring Diane did not meet the family's expectations. Personally, I have never been to a funeral home that was so poorly managed. Diane's husband, daughter, and two grandchildren did not feel any compassion from the staff, and they did not feel that Diane was honored and celebrated in the way she deserved. Alec did address his concerns with one of the employees, and the response he received was, "I don't know, I just work here." While the family technically received all the services they paid for, everything was executed poorly, leaving the family feeling disrespected. Alec, Dan, Chasity, and Emilee had carefully selected photos of Diane for a slideshow to be displayed for the family at the funeral home. Unfortunately, the slideshow was shown on a 2001 desktop computer, tucked away on a built-in shelf in a spot where it was very easily overlooked. It was not in a place where people could easily stand to view it. Additionally, the music that the family had chosen to be played during the service was never played while we were at the funeral home. Instead, the songs were only played at the graveside service. I've never been to a funeral home that didn't play calming music or the family's selected songs during the service. Furthermore, we were not given a police escort from the funeral home to the graveside. To add to this, the funeral home employee driving the hearse never used his blinker once. With a 1.5-star rating on Google and Facebook reviews disabled, it's clear that this funeral home has received significant criticism. If Diane hadn't specifically requested Elliott-Brown Service Funeral Home, and if we had done our research beforehand, we would not have chosen this location. This funeral home is poorly run and does not provide the respectful and professional service that families deserve when honoring a loved one. I'm sharing this experience in the hope that no other family has to feel the way Alec and his family did.
