Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by Hampton Inns in Ashland. We booked online using my Hilton Honor account which gave me a $3 discount and was cheaper than ordering via phone. Our room with two queen beds was $132 with all taxes. The staff was friendly and efficient, we were checked in quickly. The lobby is immaculate and upscale. The facility is only 18 months old opened early 2017. Our room was clean, upscale and comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and rooms quiet. The bathroom was well equipped and immaculate. The only issue was that the bathroom door was hard to close for me. It was on a barn door slide and quite heavy. Not really a big problems. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Fresh scrambled eggs were delicious. Even the biscuits and gravy were good. Pastries, cereal and waffles were also available. The coffee bar was complete and coffee was good. Newspapers available. The facility has a modern fitness center with plenty of machines. The center is clean. There is also a pool that is handicapped accessible with nice sitting areas. The hotel has many amenities for the handicapped including Braille signs throughout. Entry into the lobby is unobstructed with automatic doors. They offer us complementary snack bags when we left that included water, apple and snack bars. They thick of every thing! Best hotel I've stayed in quite awhile. I'll be back but don't tell others. I want to keep this place a secret.

We stayed here for 1 night traveling from KY to MA. We wanted an HP room. The price was $199.00. We went up to the room, and the room was pretty nice...overkill for what we wanted, but nice. I looked in the bathroom, and there were no safety bars at all. It was not a handicapped room. We called downstairs and they said it was all they had. Tired...we stayed in the room. The room was actually dysfunctional, the tv can't be turned to the bed nor the couch completely. Weird! there was a card in the room that said it was "squeaky" clean written by Karen. I opened the fridge and there was a rotten banana and a couple old packs of mayonnaise! See pics. They did take $20.00 off the room upon complaining. Staff was cordial, but did not seem really competent. It's doubtful we would stay again here.

No complaints. Room clean. Reception friendly. Breakfast as described. This will be our hotel choice as we travel through Ashland.

The front desk staff were really friendly and kind. They told me there was a pool I could use, which was really funny considering the negative temperatures. I believe it is now a Wingate.

This location has been sold to someone else. (Don't remember who). So no one is really "fixing"…read moreanything quite yet. So if outdated & warn bother you this currently is not the place for you. With that in mind, the staff here is amazing. From the front desk, to housekeeping I have not met an employee yet that hasn't been amazing. I've been here for two weeks and everyone is just great. If I've had issue with something (because it is an older hotel waiting for a facelift) the staff has been amazing and fixed whatever the issue was. You can have the nicest, newest hotel and if the staff is like talking to a lazy, rude paper weight who is not helpful it ruins the whole experience. No matter what changes in the hotel keep the staff. Give them a raise and tell them how amazing they are doing because without them you'd just be another chain hotel no one remembers or cares to come back too when in your area. Being away from home for so long is tough, but friendly faces whenever you leave your room I great. No one wants to talk to "Karen" who can't be bothered cuz it's not her problem. I was able to do my laundry there even in the dated machines. Success. Clothes went in dirty and came our clean. Cooked in the microwave from 1996 and it tasted just as good. Questioned if it was going to explode or give me a tumor from radioactive waves by the sound of it... but so far so good. Nice flat screen TV I was able to hook my Roku to but had to use my hotspot as the Wifi wasn't strong/fast enough. Also worked out. Large well lit parking lot for safety for you & your vehicle so you don't have to worry about getting lost in the darkness. McDonalds right across the street if your 1996 microwave can't cut it and you become really desperate. Warm breakfast each morning. Some kind of meat (sausage, bacon etc) eggs. There has been other thing also. Ice is only on the second floor but let's face it, I'm sure you could use the steps. (Like health wise... elevator works fine). Venting machine on the first floor for all your usual overpriced last minutes impulse snack needs like all hotels. I had a room with a jacuzzi tub that yes was dated and warm. Tub is warm & HUGE! I could fit me and 3 of my favorite Guns & Roses band members in it. I didn't try the jets but it rocked all the same. I needed to make a few modifications to my room for my service K9 and they were super helpf! If you value staff experience over newest and fanciest, this is for you. Tell them Jane sent you.

The person working the front desk was friendly and looked like she was doing 3 jobs at once. The bartender was fast efficient and made great cocktails. Some of our concerns go to more managerial issues. As an example, the heat in our room did not work and our room was as cold as the outside. Being middle of January we were literally sitting in our rooms in hats, gloves and coats. The staff did bring up some space heaters to help raise the temperature, which eventually worked. The wine pairing dinner we attended was just ok, but at 70 dollars a person I would expect more than using small plastic cups for the pairings. The food itself was really good, so my compliments to the chef. If the room price was more reasonable and not 450 per night I would be less critical. The cost just didn't match the expectation
