This hotel is OK. And by that I mean it's just OK. Nothing great. The only thing good it has going for it I guess is the free breakfast in the morning. The front desk person seemed nice at first but when I wanted to pay cash for something from the commissary she said that she was not accepting cash. Not that the hotel didn't take cash, but just that she was not accepting it. Which meant that I had to put it on my credit card. I would have preferred to pay cash. Also, what is it with Hampton Inn and only one elevator working? I stayed at a Hampton Inn in Oklahoma City in July and they also only had one elevator working. I'm staying here all week for some work-related classes. Very nice rooms, decent breakfast, and a good location with plenty of restaurant options. The rooms are fairly large with desk, mini refrigerator, microwave, and some storage shelves. Decor is nice and rooms are attractive. After spending a couple of days here I have overheard many guests complaining about the elevator buttons being confusing. There is no "2"button for the second floor, the "1" button takes you to the basement and "L" button is really the first floor. The breakfast offer several hot options and the attendant keeps the area very clean and tidy, and the food fresh. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. read more

I was trying to be positive but the longer I stayed the lower the stars got. I booked through the Hilton website and used a virtual card number. Received the confirmation email and everything. The next day I picked my room on the app and requested a digital key...all is well. The day I go to check in I see there's no key. The guy at the front desk tells me the card was declined so I had to use my physical card. A bit of an inconvenience but it's ok. I get on the dirty ass elevator. There's some greasy looking substance smeared on the elevator doors mixed with lint. It looks like someone was wiping or "cleaning" the doors. My whole time there I noticed that housekeeping didn't do too much keeping of house because even the hall ways were dirty. I found cough drop wrappers on the floor near the bed and the bathroom sink was backed up. The bed was sunken in and that mattress probably needs to be changed out. On the positive side the shower tub wasn't backed up and they had plenty of towels. The lobby kinda smelled good...or were they trying to cover up a smell? Hmmmm.... Anyhow if I were being generous I'd give this place 2.5 stars. Parking is $10/day and there's plenty of it. read more

The customer service at this place is so bad. Becky at the front desk was so short with me and rude and had this look on her face the whole time I was checking in until she realized I was a diamond member. All of sudden, things were different. Then at night she was at the front desk with another associate, He was checking them in and Becky was just carrying on a conversation with this lady and her kids like I hadn't been standing there for the last 10 minutes waiting. This Hampton Inn & Suites is getting a little long in the tooth. It could use a thorough cleaning, some paint and a little updating. Most things in my room worked reasonably well except that the mini-fridge didn't cool acceptably. I was too busy during my stay to bother dealing with this but it was a disappointment. Also, the shower was very difficult to turn on. At first I pulled it as hard as I dared but relented on pulling the faucet any harder for fear of breaking it. When I called to the front desk to complain, they told me to pull on the faucet as hard as I could. I did and managed to turn the water on. I suspect that some women or older customers might be unable to turn on the water in the shower. Service here is reasonably good. My biggest complaint relates to parking. It costs $10/day to park your car at this location. I thought this was unusual for a Hampton Inn especially one located way out in the suburbs. Their excuse for the parking garage fee was that they are located on the grounds of the Mesquite Rodeo Arena. But there was no rodeo in progress while I was there and the Mesquite Rodeo Arena and its parking lot were as empty as a politician's promises. But you still have to pay for parking. I soon noticed that there are two other hotels belonging to well known chains very nearby. Both hotels appear to be much newer and, because they are not part of the Mesquite Rodeo Arena, I'll bet you dollars against donuts that the parking there is totally free. read more

It should be obvious how the management feels about the guests as they have not responded to a single yelp review. That tells me they could care less about us/you. The room itself is fairly clean and quasi comfortable. The hotel itself isn't filthy but it isn't clean. Additionally, I didn't see and hand sanitizer in the lobby or near the self-serve breakfast. So you've got people serving themselves, licking their own fingers, serving themselves again... No obvious hand sanitizer. It's feels as if they do not care. Additionally the elevators are ridiculous. They have L for the first floor and number one for the second floor but no number two for the second floor. If you get off on floor 1, which is really two, the elevator doesn't give you an option to go down. You have to press up and then press the L for floor one. It's an inconvenience and quite dumb! Additionally, they only provide one bar of hand soap and no bath soap. This place is not big on hygiene. The staff is not friendly. They aren't rude but you get the feeling they could careless. With a few minor tweaks this could be a nice stay. Until, they make the tweaks it's a bit of an irritating stay. read more

Pet friendly and they were so nice! We came here towards the end of the snowmageddon. Our room was clean. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was this assembly line for quick grab, but plenty of items to choose from. The gym was pretty decent too. You have to go to the front desk to ask for the gym key card. They wanted to limit ppl in the gym for covid compliance. So it was just us two in the gym. However they did not have hand sanitizer or wipe in the gym. That was the only down side. But had towels for you to use and leave in the dirty bin. Very nice stay for us! read more

My experience at this hotel was horrible. The desk staff was unresponsive and dismissive. The bedskirt on the bed in room 517 was torn and had been pinned partially back up which left a loop in the fabric. As I was unpacking, I caught my foot in the loop and fell face forward. Fortunately, I missed the dresser by inches. I reported this to Staff by phone and in person. No one ever asked if I was OK. I called the Hilton customer service number and the first person I talked to also never bothered to ask if I was OK. The second person on the Hilton customer service number finally asked if I was okay. I sprained my wrist, strained my ankle, my hip and back are very sore so I would say not really OK but I am mobile and I am out of this awful place. Stay at this hotel at your own risk and only if you don't value customer service and basic human kindness. read more

The front desk employees and the managers were unhelpful and extremely un-empathetic...going as far as to claiming this had never happened before (look at past reviews ....its a continuous problem-even happening on the EXACT SAME day in 2023! And the police even knew the managers' names from speaking to them so often! Seems VERY suspicious! Why lie to us when our truck was just stolen??!!) Is it the hotel's fault it was stolen? No. But the way this was handled makes it extremely clear they don't care AT ALL about their customers SAFETY OR PROPERTY while staying at their hotel! Great hotel for banquets and events. I've been here twice within the past 2 years for functions and service has been great! Parking is ample since this hotel is located right next to the Mesquite Rodeo. So for the event halls, they are huge, accommodating and clean. One thing they would benefit from is more restrooms with better ventilation. Their banquet food is hot, fresh and tasty. Have it been the best good that I've ever had at a banquet? NOPE but it's good and it will sustain you. When you have a function and do a coffee station always ask for labels for the creamer and milk section because they don't put those signs. My stay there was one never to forget. I unfortunately was there during the latest ice/snow storm. So being stuck in the hotel longer than planned was not ideal more so because the hotel is extremely low on snacks and food. They did not accommodate us in anyway for being stuck. It is not anything new for these types of storms to happpen this time of year. So you would think that Hamptons would be better equipped with extra food, bowls, basic necessities to ease our stay during a stressful time of being caught in a winter storm during febeuraury. Visited a friend staying here today. Had to pay for 8 hrs of parking for a two hour visit. Ended up paying cash at the front desk since I had no card on me to pay by phone. This place is eh. The bathrooms are roomy and clean. Not only is the decor out dated but there is no hotel or area information in your room. The carpets are wrinkled. The sheets are dingy in comparison to the bed spreads. The beds, you can feel and hear the coils in the mattress. The rooms do not have microwaves or fridges in the rooms but when asked for they will deliver it to your room. Breakfast and coffee/tea bar is standard. The staff is nice but for a convention center with arena this is an outdated and poor property. read more

The breakfast buffet was great. One of the better ones I have had while staying in the Mesquite area. It is such a joy to see real scrambled eggs and not the ones from powder. Same with breakfast sausage being cooked on a griddle with crispy brown sides vs microwave from frozen. As an avid low carb dieter this just made my morning. The buffet was always fully stocked even during peak rushes. They use paper plates which is probably the only thing you can fault them for. Also, the buffet is right across from the check in counter and the front door. It's 32 degrees here in Mesquite this morning and every time someone comes into the hotel you get a blast of cold air; I kind of like it though. For the hotel, the property seems very nice. No issues with the rooms but it does look like they could use a little upgrade. The pillows on the bed definitely could have been better. All in all, solid 4 star stay read more

I stayed here with my children and family from September 1st-September 4th 2023.Housekeeping does a horrible job keeping us stocked with towels and other needs. I had to call and let the front desk know hey I need tissue and towels twice. I excused that since everywhere is short staffed. After receiving fresh towels hours later I get back to my room to find a creature (come do) (lizard) crawling in my daughter's bed. I reported that and the associate at the front desk looked and laughed and stated oh those come from outside. The fact that they are not taking ownership is flabbergasting to me and now my autistic daughter is scared to sleep in her bed alone thinking something may crawl on her. Lastly there was a huge event held which of course left me and my family walking a long distance to get to the hotel door. Once I entered the lobby and expressed my concerns I was told that I'd be accommodated somehow. The associate that told me this was very kind but he had gotten off o I went to another worker that morning. I explained everything she directed me to the general manager who NEVER returned my call. I have never in my life been so upset about staying at a hotel , I truly regret my stay with them. It's going on day 5 and still no accommodations or no returned calls. Kinda bummed, I really wanted to like this place, I usually like Hilton hotels. For $154 I expect to be able to check in at my check in time, especially when we already 40 minutes passed the check in time. The receptionist was not friendly and not accommodating at all. Said we would have to pay a difference if we wanted to check in now. Makes no sense, I paid to check in at 3, not 5. Asked for a manager and she just said I'm all you have. Called guest services and actually filed a formal complaint. We had to come back at 5 and check in for our room. When we finally checked in the receptionist didn't tell us anything about the pool, the wifi, parking or anything because she was upset about the argument we had earlier about our room not being ready. The only reason I know about the amenities is because I overheard her telling the guest in front of us about it. Didn't even ask if we wanted one key or two like she did other guests, we only received one even though there were 2 of us. I would seriously reconsider ever going back and staying at a Hilton again because of this experience. I setup an event at this hotel and the Director of Sales and Catering is by far the Most unprofessional, rude, dishonest person I have ever come in contact. If you wish to setup an event here at this hotel Id think twice and make sure they read the CANCELLATION policy to you if you decidee want cancel your event for any reason. Wish there was an option for zero stars. This is absolutely the worst hotel ever and that is what I can tell you without getting past the front desk. I was very late checking in but, I made the reservation online so, there should have been the heads up on hotels.com but, there was no mention of the 50 dollar deposit IN CASH. YES, in cash. I, as many others these days, do not travel with cash for safety reasons. To make matters worse, the night front desk person was an absolute mean, horrible person with zero personality. Not only did he demand the deposit in cash, this hotel does not provide the customers with a receipt...the reason I know this is that the guy in front of me handed this guy a hundred dollar bill and was astounded when he didn't get a receipt...also, the hotel didn't have change. How does a business, who takes cash deposits from customers, not have change and refuse to provide receipts for the cash? Sounds like a scam to me. I turned around and walked out...I will be complaining to hotels.com and Oyo and I will get my money back since I didn't stay. Travelers beware of this scam in Mesquite. read more

Another guest had an event to attend at four, and they would not accommodate her either. Her friend was let into HER room early, but they didn't even take my name to see if my room was ready. As it turns out, it probably was, because after my initial rejection, I went to hang out in my in-laws' room, which was next door to the room they eventually gave me, and no maids were working here during that hour. My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend because he was working at the convention center that's attached to it. The room was comfy, clean, and nicely decorated. We were told that they had recently finished renovating and you could tell. The room was up to date and the amenities were well put together. The breakfast was good, the room was cleaned well everyday, and everyone we talked to was helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable, the AC kept the room at the perfect temperature, noise from the hallway couldn't be heard in the room, and the shower had great water pressure. The linens felt and looked new and the curtains were able to keep the light out. The only complaint was that the closet was just an indention in the wall with a curtain and didn't have a lot of space. Overall we had a lovely stay. read more

Parking is readily available and spacious. The location is convenient. However, the room we received was dirty. It had a waterbug, crayons, and trash under the sofa edge. And under the air conditioner were candy wrappers. After calling a Supervisor. We were relocated to another room in which the bathroom door does not close. So there is no privacy. We stayed here a year ago. And was pleased with our experience then. This time has been less pleasurable. And more of a nightmare.The hotel staff was extremely nice upon checking in. But, after making a statement questioning the room cleanliness. She was extremely rude. I came here to rest. And I am leaving frustrated. The mini fridge is HOT. As in not cool. The room was quiet on the 5th floor. And the beds were comfortable. We were going to stay here again at the end of the week. But, due to the rudeness of the front desk lady we decided to make reservations elsewhere and cancelled our reservation for the upcoming stay. To wake up and find. HOTEL POLICY STATES. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR A ONE NIGHT STAY UPON CANCELLATION. So we were billed $171.39. For a night we never got a chance to use. I'm not sure we will ever use this place again. Hilton, you should make it right....... And waive the cancellation fee when service is poor. read more
