There are two Hampton Inn & Suites in Downtown Denver. Double check if this is where you are booked. This Hampton Inn & Suites is not the nearest one to the Convention Center but it's still fine to walk from here to the Convention Center. It was not that busy when I came here and I was able to check in early. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and nice. The shampoo dispenser in the bathroom was almost empty. Telling this to the front desk person did not have this addressed; I had to ask the staff member on the floor cleaning the other room about it to have this addressed. Nevertheless, the whole room was fine. Complimentary continental breakfast was served starting 6am. They served scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, fresh fruits like banana, apples, oranges. They have waffle maker, pastries (scones, muffins, bagels), yogurt. Fitness center and indoor pool are both on the lower level. The fitness center has a cable machine, weights, treadmills, elliptical, and Peloton bike. The elevators were a little slow but both were working. Overall experience here was good. read more

Had a terrible experience at this hotel. The pool was ice cold the entire time during our stay, so my guests couldn't bear to swim for more than two minutes without freezing. I didn't even attempt to go swimming. The staff was friendly, but what really ruined our experience was the souvenirs from Coors Field that were thrown away on the last night of our stay. Keep in mind, our room was never cleaned for the first three nights, and it was only cleaned on the last night, when the gifts we had purchased for friends back home were thrown away. They were souvenirs worth less than $30, but what really upset me was the lack of accountability from the general manager. The general manager apologized for the long list of things that weren't satisfactory during our stay, including the broken elevator and the freezing pool, but then basically called me a liar by stating that his staff would never throw anything like that away. Instead of taking responsibility and acknowledging that a mistake could have happened, I felt like my experience was completely dismissed. I will never stay at a Hampton hotel again. I don't care if the parking is free--which, by the way, it wasn't. read more

Close enough to downtown to easily walk to restaurants, the Convention Center, and the 16th Street pedestrian mall, but the experience itself had some drawbacks. Only one of the two elevators worked the entire time and both frequent guests and an employee confirmed it has been out for months, which meant waiting in long lines and sometimes up to 15 minutes just to go up or down, especially difficult when traveling with luggage. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel does offer nice amenities including free breakfast with omelettes, meats, a waffle bar, and juices, along with an indoor pool (no jacuzzi), a fitness center, and a laundry room. The area feels fine when walking toward downtown but becomes less comfortable in the opposite direction, especially at night. read more

Hampton Inns are kind of hit-or-miss: some are nicer than others, but I generally know what to expect. I would say this one is on the low end of the spectrum. It's impossible to get your room cold (if you like a cold room for sleeping). The coldest I could get it was 70 degrees, and I couldn't get the fan to stay on. One of the two elevators was broken. I wouldn't mention this except there are reviews mentioning broken elevators at this Hampton Inn going back YEARS. This is obviously a chronic problem. On the plus side, the rooms are large! -- you won't feel cramped. Also, it's located close to the Colorado Capitol (immediate right turn out of lobby) and 16th Street Mall (immediate left turn out of the lobby and another left on 19th). The front desk processes your credit card and hands you your key -- you won't feel like a valued guest, but they get the job done. There are better options out there. read more

Booked this hotel for a night. It is conveniently located in downtown Denver. Check in was super easy. Our room was ready earlier. I especially appreciated how cool the a/c was. I had initially booked another hotel until I read recent reviews that said their a/c was not working. Hampton had working a/c that was much needed after we walked 25 minutes from Union Station. Breakfast was one of the highlights. Lots of hot options to choose from. Room was quiet and had everything we needed. I would stay here again if I was in the area again. read more

This hotel was just so stressful to me. Out of the two elevators, one was broken and being worked on the entire time we were there. When my family loaded up the supplied luggage cart (4 wheels out of the 6 were flat so we basically dragged it around) into the "working" elevator it jerked its way up to our floor, stopped, dropped about 6 inches, stopped again and then slowly went back to the first floor. Holy scary. I was told the elevator was "acting up" but that was that. I took the stairs the rest of the time but the stairs don't all lead to every floor. To access the basement you have to go up to the second floor walk around the hallway and find the hidden second staircase. When I couldn't find it or the laundry room the first time the boy at the desk told me they didn't have one and stairs must not go down there. Ugh. Coupled with the fact our bathtub was rusty and chipped and anytime I asked for assistance no one knew the actual answer, plus the possible death by elevator I would advise everyone to stay anywhere else really. Nice room, decent full breakfast, and we liked the location away from downtown bustle but an easy walk or quick Uber ride to 16th Street Mall/ Union Station/ Coors Field etc. 5 stars for the good stuff here! Cons: one elevator is not enough! They need to get the second elevator working. Be prepared to stand in line to get to your room or take the stairs. Also, one person staffing front desk at busy checkout times is not enough - the line was out the door from 10:15 - 11am. So plan for that too, especially if you are on a schedule. Minus 2 stars for all this aggravation. We would stay at this location again, but we would prepare for the negatives by asking for a room on a lower floor (to take the stairs) and be in line at front desk before 10am. read more

Breakfast was good. The location is good but no parking except the street or paid lots. There is plenty of food that you can just walk to. The last thing was water pressure which was just average. If you have a conference at the convention center, this is the place to stay. Rooms are reasonable, incredibly spacious and set up for business travelers with a large desk. Theres a huge free breakfast available from 6-10am with tons of options. The lobby is welcoming and the convention center is 1 block away. The only confusing thing is that the hampton js in the same building as the homewood suites, which threw me off when the front desk asked which I was staying at. Another typical Hampton Inn, located near Cap Hill. Parking is a problem, you can have your car valet parked or there are some spots on the street but, you better read the parking signs. There are two public parking lots nearby, too. The lobby is small-ish with the dining area next to it. The rooms are comfortable but show some wear and tear. Disrepair significant. Sept 2024- Business Trip-8 days: 1) 1 of 4 elevators working (2 on each side of hotel) meant a line of business people waiting to descend in the morning. Spent a weekend here and it provided everything we needed for a fun quick trip. Check-in and checking out was easy. We had a late flight back home and decided to go to a Rockies games before heading to the airport. The front desk was kind enough to hold our bags while we went to the game. The room was very spacious and had a microwave, refrigerator, and a coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and clean. Complementary breakfast was provided. They had a lot of different options like cereal, waffles, bagels, eggs, bacon, etc. so there was something for everyone. We stayed here Monday night, with 2 kids and 2 adults. The hotel lobby is clean and well kept as well as the front of the hotel outside. Valet parking for $30 is pretty much your only option, which I was ok with I guess until the app on my phone for my car notified my that my car was left unlocked. We're on a road trip while moving across country, so some of the things in my car like important documents, and sentimental items I'd really not like to lose were in there. If I didn't have a brand new car with a mobile app that tells me these things it could have been all bad. When I said something the next morning to the guy at the valet booth he looked at me like I had 3 heads over me knowing my car wasn't locked. As if having an app in 2022 to tell you this is some unbelievable thing. The room was ok, sort of small and the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. The hygiene products provided in the bathroom were used, and only about half full. I'd expect that from a motel 6, but not a Hampton inn. The front desk employee was not kind at all, and very just robotic and straight to the point. She definitely made you feel like you were bothering her if you had a question. The pool is in the basement, which was ok but it seemed like that area of the hotel was neglected. Overall, I can't say I'd never stay here again but it wouldn't be my first choice. If you're only staying just to sleep, and have a 25 minute drive to the airport the next morning it's not a bad deal. read more

This hotel is in a great location and within walking distance to many attractions, including the U.S. Mint. It is in a great part of town, where you are not afraid to walk around. We checked in at a later time, after a drive from the airport, and we were buzzed in, which was a nice feature and made you feel safer. There were cookies and water and coffee available in the lobby. The breakfast was great and had many different hot dish options. It was definitely one of the better breakfast offerings that I have encountered in my travels. Do not stay here if you have a car. Upon arrival, I was informed by staff that the next door pay lot was cheaper than valet parking. There are only 4 street parking spots, so the lot seemed like a good idea. However, the all-day fee you pay expires overnight. After getting home from our trip, I received 4 parking citations in the mail, one for each night we were there. The hotel was basic, and one elevator was broken, so it always took forever to get to our room. Don't bother. read more

I just wanted to give a shoutout to those 2 employees that went above and beyond our expectations. For the front desk associate Blake, thank you for being genuinely nice and not overlooking the guests needs. To the valet, Clint, thank you for being so efficient and mindful especially coming back to the hotel late at night. They made our stay less of a hassle. I had to knock down one star because of the night crew who didn't mind that we needed more shampoo or body wash. Working hospitality is not easy but a simple act of awareness can help the customers stay more comfortable. Location wise, this hotel is perfect because its walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Positive: the hotel's location is a 10-20 minute walk (up to 0.8 mile) to restaurants and certain venues surrounding the area and located on 16th Street Mall. Breakfast was okay (waffles, prepared scrambled eggs/omelettes, muffins, etc.) Disappointments: The hotel is in need of renovation or at least upkeep. Upon arrival, the toilet/commode would not flush in the first room we were given; however, Miguel immediately corrected the situation and assigned us to another room. There was only one out of the two elevators that was working the entire stay... so wait times could be slow with guests and cleaning crews using it. Overall, the staff members were friendly and helpful, (especially Miguel) with the exception of one lady at the front desk (will not disclose name, no smile or positive energy... almost felt that asking a question was painful for her to answer and her having a bad day is not a good excuse for representing Hilton.) Basically, one of guests that I ran into (he was from Germany) and out of curiosity, asked his thoughts about his stay at the hotel, he summed up his stay, "not very good, but you get what you pay for" which in our case was partly true. When I made the reservations in advance, Hilton initially charged me $750 for 3 days, and told me it was the lowest rate; however, due to an internet ad that had a lower rate, I called back and our rate was lowered to $635. Also, had no idea it is now standard hotel policy to not clean rooms until 3rd day. My husband who normally does not complain only said, the hotel was pretty bad. So I've learned that as far as future travel I will need to stay away from Hampton Inn brand. I did not expect a sub-par experience.... I mean Come on, an old shower head, burn hole in funny , one TV did not work, low hot water pressure and when you turn on faucet in sink the faucet handle and faucet' spout is loose and moves.... Doesn't change sheets unless you make a request. Refused to remedy the situation by stating that I would need to change them myself because front desk was only being manned by one person. I've got a nasty kidney infection and am exhausted and now I get to strip my bed and change the bedding myself before I can get some rest. I would say that this hotel was only barely fine for our two night stay. We don't have super high expectations/demands for our stays we spend most of our time away from the hotel. We expect: 1) a clean room - check 2) courteous service - meh. When we called down to ask for more towels and toiletries, the never came. My husband went down to get them and was told the person taking the message didn't write down the room number. However the front desk was quite helpful when we needed something worked out at the end of our stay. So this is a wash. 3) Daily housekeeping - nope. As I said, we were out of the room most of the day. Pool has the black paint used for the coping which is flaking off and making the bottom look dirty. The whirlpool needs resurfacing, could use more heat and jets pointed inwards would do wonders. Laundry facilities are adequate, but let's progress to coin less machines. Coffee in the morning is spot on, breakfast has many options to please, but please do the world a favor a ditch the flavorless turkey sausage products. A communion wafer has more appeal. Parking is great with a soccer tournament discount. Rooms are spacious and getting maid service for trash and towels is easy. As I said in another review, hotels are hard to review because everyone has different expectations and different experiences. Restaurants - you go there to eat. Hotels - you go there to run away from home, for business travel, to park it in one place and move around the city by other means, or maybe you're just passing through. I'm going to sum up our stay with pros and cons. I guess I should also say I went along with another family member's decision on the hotel without investigating what would work for us. PROS: Clean, spacious room Front desk honored my request and put us next to our nephew who had arrived a few days earlier Pressed juice and smoked sausage included on the breakfast bar Friendly front desk staff Told us about less expensive parking on the street or in the lot across the street Easy check in and check out CONS: (And again, this is from my perspective.) No hotel guide in the room with the exception of a few bullet points on a card, though there was a travel magazine on the city Valet parking only for $30 Only one valet cart was available to bring in luggage and it was occupied; others were AWOL It was not expensive with my Hilton Honors discount, so while I was majorly disappointed to find no hotel guide and no parking deck, this might be just what the doctor ordered for someone else. read more

The front desk were amazing and very helpful in guiding us to great places. This was just a "Getaway" from Tennessee and I am happy we chose this place for our home away from away. Housekeeping were so friendly (on the second floor)and Blake was awesome at the front desk. Our Valet guys were all so great and made our parking non existent because they handled all of that for us. Hampton Inns have really kicked the quality of their locations up a notch. We stayed here for a short weekend excursion and chose this location because of the price and the proximity to most of downtown. You are no more than a few blocks away from many of the neat things to see in downtown Denver. The rooms were very modern, spacious, and clean. The beds and pillows were nice and comfy. Breakfast in the morning was the standout winner of our stay. Lots of choices ranging from classic cold options like cereal, yogurt, and pastries but also some unique hot choices like breakfast potatoes, southwest omelets, and waffles with two different kinds of batter. They also offered homemade Chobani yogurt and fruit smoothies and fresh pressed juices. You could easily fill up on the continental breakfast and be good for a much later lunch which is always a bonus in my book since eating out while traveling can add up fast. Staff were very prompt and friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay each step of the way. Great location and amenities makes this a win in my book. read more

No frills on the service though so be prepared to use maps on your phone rather than consulting the front desk. The free breakfast is a nice perk. The front desk will not tell you that there are paid parking lots located next to the hotel and street parking available. They will always offer their valet option first. For what it is, I liked this hotel. Clean and comfy is all I wanted this time. Easy, walkable distance to downtown but stay alert/be aware of your surroundings on your way there. read more

This is the worst hotel experience of my entire life. Worse than any motel, any Hilton or Hampton Inn across the country. This hotel is a nightmare. 1. They stole from me. The valet forced me to take a ticket even though I said no thank you, and then I did not use the valet. Didn't need it. Tried to explain that we didn't need it and she basically forced me to take it. They were so mean and unhelpful and even though we did not use it, valet never touched my car, they forced us to pay $30. They were awful to my partner on the phone and said it would have cost $60 if we didn't call. Makes zero sense and is a scam. Huge red flag. 2. They never serviced our room in an entire week. We were living in squalor for Christmas. We had to buy our own toilet paper, we had to call for towels three times. We changed our own sheets. They said to go get towels at the front desk. And then we had to call and ask, is there a time the service will be coming today? And they said you were too late and needed to call and request service in the early morning. No one ever told us this upon check in. I've never in my life stayed at a hotel that makes you call early and ask for people to clean/replenish your room. It's all made really hard by the staff and they treat you horribly just for asking. 3. The hot tub and pool are in a dungeonous basement and don't seem clean. If they don't even clean the rooms and don't do the bare minimum for sanitation for our room that we paid $400 for, then they are not cleaning the pool. It's all very unsafe feeling. I wouldn't be writing this if the people were kind. They were so mean. They were understaffed and the people who are working here are obviously unhappy and projecting that onto the guests. Nice hotel with all the things you need. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and ok service. We did ask for extra hangers and they got them for us which was nice. I was disappointed that they advertise a hot tub and didn't have one. It looks like there was one but its filled in now. Would be nice to have that updated as that was one important thing I like to have when staying at a hotel. The breakfast was subpar. .. it is food in that you wont die but no flavor, no love put in. Their main draw is the waffle maker and toppings. But eggs, bland, sausage, is it meat? At least try a little. read more

Stayed at this hotel 6/15-16. Arrival was horrific- line of cars just to pull into the small unloading area for valet service. Eventually pulled in just enough on the sidewalk to not block traffic. Had to sit there waiting for nearly 30 minutes before the valet got to my vehicle. Did not get the room we booked and were given a handicapped room instead. The bathroom is designed for people with physical disabilities which is not ideal for a family of 6 with 4 children. The entire bathroom floor gets wet as it is only a stand-up shower with no wall or retainer for water. Showerhead was near impossible to adjust so stream and direction, again, not ideal. Had to request more towels 3x before finally getting them over 10 hours later. One thermostat for the large room also not the best situation as one side of the room was close to set temperature but the far side easily 5-8 degrees warmer. Room layout not ideal for privacy- apparently new layouts since room was booked. No manager on duty so all of these concerns relayed to staff members who may or may not have conveyed them. So no offers of any kind to make the situation better or give a discount. Location was great (close to all things downtown if you don't mind a bit of walking) and breakfasts were done well too. read more

1) We walked into our room and the bed wasn't made (we assumed the sheets weren't cleaned either but we didn't care too much) 2) we got 2 keys and 1 didn't work for the room or the elevator- we informed the front desk and they "fixed it" for us 3) we returned for the evening, walked past the front desk where 2 people greeted us and watched us walk into the elevator, where we attempted both keys several times until we gave up and we assumed that both keys didn't work this time. We went to the front desk, told them both keys didn't work for the elevator, the literally asked us "what room?", we gave them the room number, they looked us square in the eye and said "the elevator is down for the night, please take the stairs." We're fine taking the stairs, but it's almost comical that they would first watch us attempt the elevator for 10 minutes, then ask us what room number we were in, and then finally decide to tell us that we had to take the stairs that were down the hall and to the left. The breakfast is honestly a great spread and great value - waffles, good 24/7 coffee, fresh fruit selection, oatmeal, etc - really enjoyed the feast! Rooms are clean and spacious. Gym is much better than most dinky hotel gyms - solid set of free weights and a multi-purpose machine, along with a bench and a few treadmills/ellipticals. I came from 3 hours away to stay for 3 nights. When I checked into my room (very late I was exhausted and had to haul my stuff from a parking garage which was not a big deal to me) my room smelt like feet and wet towels. I am not the type of person to complain and will suck it up most of the time. But the fact that I was staying more than one night and spent hundreds to stay I of course wanted to switch rooms. I went downstairs and told the guy that was up front I'm guessing he was the overnight front desk associate. I told him politely that my room didn't smell good and if there is something that could be done. He didn't say ONE word to me but slowly put his cellphone down and started typing in the computer. He handed me different keys to a different room and still did not say a word . My blood was boiling that you want to treat me as if this is my fault when I came to you knowing you didn't clean that room and it wasn't your fault either so if I am going to come at you politely you should give me that respect as well especially if you're choosing to work at the FRONT DESK at a busy hotel. I didn't want to ask the front desk for anything else the rest of my stay because they made me feel lower than dirt for asking for a room that didn't smell that I PAID FOR.
