My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Mountain View from Sep 24 - Sep 27 and had a great experience. The customer service was top-notch - every person working at this location that we interacted with provided us with excellent customer service. Some examples: --- After entering our room, we called the front desk to request extra pillows, towels, and cups, and we had those items within five minutes. --- During the first day/night, I noticed a slight odor that smelled like a dog and thought it may be coming from the bedspread. I left a note (along with a tip) on the bed for housekeeping requesting the bedspread be changed along with the sheets. Soon after that I left the room to run some errands and let the front desk know I would be gone a while so the room could be cleaned in my absence. The front desk person immediately called housekeeping to pass this along and requested my room be cleaned immediately. --- When I returned to the hotel, the front desk person got my attention and handed me an envelope which contained a very nice note explaining the odor was likely due to the carpets being recently changed but just in case, all the linens from the bed had been changed and a deodorizer used on the carpet. The envelope also included a $10 Starbucks gift card, which was not necessary but appreciated. When I entered my room a few minutes later, I immediately saw it had been cleaned as promised and it smelled fresh. --- After calling a local pizza restaurant to have pizza delivered, the restaurant said they were not delivering at that time. We mentioned this to the front desk person as we were looking for something to eat in their mini-store area, and she offered to call to place the order (she did call, but they refused her as well). She did provide us with a discount on the food from their store (again, unnecessary as this was not Hampton Inn's fault, but appreciated). --- When I asked the front desk person if I could send an email to have a few maps printed, she directed me to the printer by the copy stand and offered to walk me through the process. Luckily, I was able to figure it out on my own. Besides customer service, the room was clean, everything worked properly (microwave, fridge, TV), the was adequate parking available, and we had no problems with noise. Coffee, hot tea, and sugar-free hot chocolate is available almost 24/7, and the free breakfast is daily from 6am - 10am and has the basics; on the three days we were there, we saw: some type of egg dish (scrambled, omelet); meat (bacon, sausage, or ham); roasted potatoes; French toast sticks; oatmeal; yogurt, three types of dry cereal; bananas; apples; waffle maker with various toppings; bagels, bread for toast; Danishes, scones, muffins, juices. Two tips: 1) The toilet paper holder is on the wall behind the toilet, making it a bit awkward to reach. I opened the extra roll and placed it in the drawer under the sink to the left of the toilet (where the hair dryer and extra toilet paper is kept). This was much easier to reach. 2) The small bar soap for hand washing did not rinse cleanly, so I used the shower gel instead for hand washing. Fun fact: If you leave the hotel and walk south on Moffett for a few blocks, there is a wonderful little fussgängerzone (pedestrian zone) with many restaurants, a few shops, plenty of outdoor seating, and a permanent ping-pong table for anyone to use. If I ever need to travel to this area again, I will make reservations at the Hampton Inn & Suites Mountain View. read more

It was ok. Staff was nice. We are Diamond clients, they gave us great snacks. Our room was very clean. The shower sucked. Shower head was awful. The tub filled up halfway, it did not drain. I had to bend over and drain the rub by hand, ewe!! I had to hold it up by hand under water, again ewe. Otherwise very nice. 2 measly towels, I guess they don't clean the rooms anymore. They left us a check off list of what we needed to be delivered the same day. Ok by us. I did check off extra towels. We had a great stay there, the room was clean and the staff was great. Our car broke down in the parking lot right when we got there. Not to mention it was a Saturday and 3:30 in the afternoon and no shops open, The girl working at the front desk was so helpful, she looked on the internet and found us a mobil mechanic who came out and fixed our car 2 hours later. The Breakfast was great, big selection of stuff to eat. The lady serving the food was very nice and respectful of everyone. Checked in before 7pm, front desk staff was friendly. I was given a room on the 1st floor for my 1 night stay (not preferred but fine). After I made my way to the room I noticed that the blinds weren't closed all the way (and that they couldn't be closed all the way). My room looked onto Moffett Blvd, and the blinds are sheer so I felt a little uncomfortable (being on the 1st floor). Plus one of the best things about hotels is the blackout curtains! I called the front desk and requested a room change, and they were accommodating. I was moved to the 2nd floor. There's free breakfast in the morning, but I didn't get to check it out since I had a morning meeting. There was also a Thai restaurant across the street but I called UberEats. I was in town when most of the hotels were sold out for some sort of events and I stayed here one night because I couldn't find anything else. I would normally stay within 5-10 minuets drive to where I need to go for the next day but this hotel was still good 45 minuets drive in the morning. After one night stay, I thought I would stay here again... Good location. Only 5-10 minuets walk to downtown Mountain View, walking distance to lots of restaurants. Always good when you don't have to think about parking before dinner. Check in was very smooth. Staff was friendly and I was in my room in no time. Room I had at a corner was very spacious. I was pleasantly surprised how large my room was. A long enough hallway made it away enough that I didn't hear any noise from other customers. Room amenities were standard Hampton Inn, except they had ear plugs... not sure why and never seen Hampton Inn ear plugs. I didn't need one but thought it was nice. Breakfast is included and typical Hampton Inn style. Can't start a day without making own waffles. My must do when staying at a Hampton Inn. I would come back again. read more

Front desk staff were not friendly. When we arrived the front desk person was hanging out - away from the front desk - sitting at a breakfast table cuddling with her boyfriend. When we left, the front desk person looked away as we approached. Neither of the two front desk staff even greeted us! Sigh. Room was very clean. A good option for a business traveler. It's a known fact that some parts of Silicon valley is more expensive than Manhattan, so it's always a challenge to find a reasonably priced hotel when I travel here for business. This place is average but is almost always sold out. The staff are all very helpful, there's always warm cookies and milk in the lobby to fulfill your sweet tooth. The rooms are clean and spacious. The fitness room has some newer equipment which is really nice, and it is open 24hrs for all of us gym rats. There's also complimentary dinner which is served only until 7pm, too early; as well as complimentary breakfast 6a-9am. Parking is complimentary and plentiful. Location could be better since it's not close to anything, but overall a pleasant hotel to stay. read more

I stayed here last Winter because I was meeting a long time friend who was setting up a pop up in Park City for Sundance. Hey, why not get a few days riding in at "The Greatest Snow On Earth" It's trademarked. On a license plate. And is The Truth. I strategically picked this location for it's proximity to the resorts that I would be skiing at. Little did I know that Greatness would begin here. This place went above and beyond my expectations in regards to hospitality, customer service and nicely played. It's under the umbrella of the Hilton brand and a well oiled machine indeed. They offer a complimentary breakfast that albeit not spectacular, is a cut above lesser hotels. Staff is very attentive. Their doing something right here. Stayed one night in a double queen room. Neighborhood is fairly quiet, there are train tracks a couple blocks down, but the train noise isn't loud enough to be disruptive. My room was clean, and had a small fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom, I never had to call for anything. The beds were comfortable, as were the pillows. Parking is included at no extra charge. Breakfast was decent. There were cheese, and Denver omelettes (premade), turkey sausage, and hard boiled eggs for protein. Cold cereal, oatmeal with toppings, a variety of pastries, yogurt, fruit, and a self serve waffle station. There was regular and decaf coffee with all the accompaniments, as well as hot water for tea or cocoa. The gentleman that checked us in was quiet but friendly, and gave us a sheet with restaurant listings. There is an abundance of restaurants on Castro street, which is walking distance. I highly recommend Orens Hummus if you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. read more

Facility is decent, but the customer service is horrible. I checked in today at 7:30 pm. The regular person who works at the front desk was probably not on duty, so I got to talk to a lady named Oksana. First she gave me the room key without writing my room number on the envelope that holds the key (Big red flag: she does not belong to this position.) when I asked her about which Wi-Fi network I should connect to, because there's only Wi-Fi code listed on the card. She cannot say one. Even worse, she said we have checked in 40+ guests and none of them had Wi-Fi problems (very derogatory with her heavy accent). Yes, that is only because the front desk was indeed on duty. When I called from the room asking the same question, hoping to get to another person. still her! She even hung up on me. I hope the management of this hotel or even the hotel chain will see my review. I am very tired now, but I feel this is my duty to report what just happened, so this kind of behavior can be stopped. Unfortunately check in understaff, with multiple people in line waiting to check-in, is extremely slow. Employees struggle with check-in program. Poor computer staffing and training. . approximately at 0530/1600 entrance door is locked, new customers need to use speaker to state why you are there, although your a customer checking in..but they say it's because it's dark late and not dangerous, it's a safe area. On two different occasions, I had duplicate hotel charges for hotel one night stay; when I had prepaid for vacation stay with a travel package. Poor computer staffing and training. read more

I drove 8 hrs to check in and the front desk to tell me they don't have the room I requested. Then he proceeded to tell me he would give me a room with a sofa bed. When I got to my room NO SOFA BED?? My children had to sleep on the floor! Then my son went to use the restroom and found this mast pubic hair on the counter. When I called downstairs front desk stated "that's not my problem thwarts housekeeping?" When asking for a manager he stated he was the manager. I'm sorry what??? We had no where to go so we slept there only for the next day for the front to tell my husband to prove it was Pubic hair??? We asked her to come look! I stay at Hilton properties every week when I travel, typically Hampton Inn's so I am extremely familiar with how they should run, and this property is one of the better Hampton Inn's. Check-in was easy with friendly staff; the room was nice and spacious. The view was not so great as I overlooked the roof on the 2nd floor. As a Diamond I always expect to get what is on my profile and that is a high floor so one of the negatives is that I could hear the people above me stomping around half the night. The gym is located on the same property but you have to go outside to get to it. The weather was great so it was not a problem. It had 2 treadmills and a couple of other machines. The TV was so far up the wall that I almost broke my neck watching while I was walking on the treadmill. What I remember the most is the wonderful fruit on the breakfast bar. I complain with every review how Hampton Inn pre-cut fruit is terrible and is not meant for human consumption; however, this Hampton does it right. They actually had fresh fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple). With my dietary restrictions, this was wonderful. I would certainly stay here again on my next visit to Stanford. read more

Pros: Location - with a little conviction, you can walk to the downtown area Staff - Incredibly friendly Stuff - Free wifi, bfast, hairdryer, parking Clean Fridge Microwave Nice bed Soft sheets Easy access to 85 & 101 and secondary roads. Great for travel to both Palo Alto & San Jose, etc. Cons: I don't think the architect really thought about what s/he was doing when drawing up the plans - either that or the building was retrofitted to be a Hampton Inn. Here's what I mean: The rooms are huuuge, unnecessarily so, not that that's really such a bad thing, it's just a little weird. However, the building is in an L shape and so some the rooms from the _ side face into the wall (but at least not window) of the l side of the building. And even though there are no tall buildings immediately next door, there are many rooms that have airshaft views thanks not only to the L shape, but also the fact the carport overhang obstructs the view of several of the rooms on the 2nd floor. I don't know, it's just bizarre. Bottom line: if you don't want to look out the window of your room, this hotel is great. read more
