Stayed here a few times over the years. This was our first time meeting the desk crew of Alexis and Harsh (GM). Though checkin time was a few hours away, they knew we were weary travelers and quickly found us rooms to settle in. We so appreciated their kindness and wanted to publicly say "Thank You"! This place is consistently well maintained to the Hampton Inn quality that you expect. The rooms are fresh and clean with comfy beds. The breakfast team work hard each morning to offer hot and cold choices that are constantly replenished. They are always moving around cleaning up to make room for the next guest. DO NOT STAY HERE! My daughter and son traveled to this hotel from North Carolina for a friends wedding. They got eaten up by BED BUGS. My daughter had bites all over. My son had so many bites he had an allergic reaction and had to get a prescription cream to help with swelling and bites. He missed time from work. They tried calling the hotel and were told they would only be refunded half of their stay. This is unacceptable!! They had to have their car cleaned, wash all clothes and suit cases to make sure they didn't bring any home with them. This made their wedding trip totally miserable. We tried calling corporate, who said it had to be handled from the actual hotel. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, they acted like it was no big deal. EWWW read more

We have stayed there quite a few times over the years and this place has gone downhill. Although the staff was friendly and breakfast was good, the room was below average. Beside the fact that we had to kill a centipede on the floor and a very large wolf spider on the wall, the chair was badly stained, wall paper was starting to peel and there was even a clipped toenail on the rug. We notified the desk and because they were booked, they said they couldn't change our room until the next day, which they never did. When they asked if there was something they could do to make it right (via text message), I suggested that they give us a deduction on our bill. They never did, nor did they respond back. The morning we were leaving, we came back to the room after breakfast and saw an exterminator leaving our room. Needless to say, we don't plan on ever staying there again regardless that they said renovations are scheduled for this Fall. Even if we have to drive a little furthur out of town, it will be worth it. read more

I stayed here two nights since I was in a wedding in the New Castle area. This was the suggested hotel for everyone to stay who wanted to stay over. The room itself was pretty good. It was two queen beds and the rooms had nice size to them. We were in a handicapped room so that may have been why they were larger. The grounds and common areas of the hotel were clean and so were the towels. Two downsides were the overnight front desk woman who was very rude to us in the wedding party who were staying the night. She was a tough nut to crack and could barely get a smile or nod out of her. She should have realized that our wedding contingent made up a good number of rooms that weekend. The free morning breakfast was blah. The juices that came out of the machine were gross. I'd rather go to Walmart and get something. read more

I don't usually review hotels but I have to give this one props because it really was an enjoyable, comfortable stay. I guess I am just pleasantly surprised because New Castle doesn't offer much except some run down buildings and disgusting restaurants so I had low expectations. The rooms were clean and they have this whole campaign that says they clean the duvet covers and sheets for every guest. I like that. That makes me feel a little better. The bed was super comfortable, the room remained quiet, they had plenty of ammenities for being just a standard hotel and the room didn't have any weird "hotel funk." Impressive. The best part was the daily breakfast they served from 6am-10am. They really made an effort to make it nice and it was free! They offered hot oatmeal with toppings, a variety of pastries, bagels and muffins, batter to make your own waffle in their waffle maker, fresh fruit, a variety of juices, coffee and tea, yogurt, biscuits/gravy, eggs, and cereal. I was truly impressed with the layout. It was above and beyond. The building is fairly new so I hope they keep it up and continue to maintain this level of service. They weren't "cheap" considering the location but I do feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck so I would return. read more

Horrible customer service. Failed to honor the Hilton Make it Right Guarantee. Manager was unapologetic for problems with reservation, room accommodation, or their ability to serve my needs. I can deal with run down or slightly unappealing hotels, but when the management is rude and apathetic, it's not acceptable. read more

Though I was only at this hotel for 12 hrs, my stay was very pleasant. The night manager was right at the desk and welcomed me, and check in was a breeze. My room was spotless, wifi worked perfectly, and bed was very comfortable. Only downside was I thought the pillows were too small, the manager said they get tucked or folded over, I guess to make them feel fuller. The fitness center was decent, the elliptical did need servicing, but it served its purpose, and despite a previous review, there were plenty of free weights and some kettle bells, so I got a good workout in the following morning. The last thing is the breakfast, it seemed to be a generic Hampton breakfast, be they did spruce up the eggs with some cedar and ham, just had a couple minutes for a quick breakfast, but it was satisfying. read more

At just after one in the morning the phone in our room rang. My boyfriend answered it half asleep and the woman on the other end was yelling so loudly I could hear her. He was confused and just kept giving our names. I took the phone and was immediately being screamed at. I was told that I was in the room illegally and would be forcibly removed. I asked who I was speaking with and was told it was Kristina at the front desk. I was shaken, confused, and extremely angry. I went to the front desk expecting that the hostess would have no idea what was going on and this was some sort of prank. What I found however was Kristine and the couple that she was trying to check into my room. I asked if she had been the one who called me and she said yes. I do not have the words to describe the foulness of this woman's attitude. I asked why I was being disturbed at one am and she proceeded to tell me that I had never been checked back in and it was not my job to explain to these people why I was stealing their room and inconveniencing them while they tried to check in. Apparently she had been able to get them another room and they quickly left. At this point I was beyond upset. When I asked to speak to her manager I was told, as she laughed in my face, that he wouldn't be back until Monday. ( As a side note I had been told that this was one of their busiest weekends) Why was the GM no where to be found? I was told he wasn't on call and there was no way to reach him until Monday. I know, and anyone in higher management knows this: a good GM is ALWAYS on call. What kind of establishment are these people running? Kristina or Kristine continues to yell at me and threaten to disturb my property so I began to yell back. She said I had never made a reservation in the first place, and that my boyfriend was not aloud to be there. So now is she not only threatening me, but imposing her own personal beliefs of some sort of traditional value on me. I can only assume this is the general attitude that Hampton has as a corporation and I feel this is wildly inappropriate. This is 2017 if I want to stay with my boyfriend before we are married, or whatever misguided and archaic beliefs Hampton/ Kristina is trying to impose on me, I have every right to do so. I had to literally yell at her in order for her to fix her own mistake. As I walked away to go back to my room she swore at and berated me the entire walk down the hall to my room. As I settled back into bed the phone began to ring. When we answered no one was there. The phone continued to ring the entire night until we finally unplugged it. Kristina then began to come and pull on and rattle our door the rest of the night. I was in utter disbelief that this was happening to me. The next morning, after not sleeping at all, I got up early fully prepared to confront this woman again. I was terrified to leave the hotel believing my property would be disturbed while I was away. Not surprisingly she was no where to be found. When I told the new hostess the story I was told that while it was indeed Hampton's error, there was nothing that could be done. She told us to call the GM on Monday, which we will be doing. I was so exhausted and had such a big and important day ahead of me that I did not feel like arguing it further. On Sunday when I went to check out I was offered no compensation and no apology. They had also ignored completely my three attempts, both over the phone and in person, to change my credit card. I couldn't wait to leave. Hampton Inn ruined what should have other wise been a fun and restful weekend. Hampton Inn will ruin your vacation and they don't care. I do not work hard and pay money to be treated like that. I have worked in customer service and cannot imagine speaking to someone in the way I was spoken to by Kristine/ Kristina. Also the GM being in the wind is unacceptable. I was harassed and sleep deprived by an employee for an entire night. At the wedding when I told everyone about my experience ( and believe me I wasn't the only one with a horror story) I was told I should receive compensation for the entire stay, and I agree. At least we had something to laugh at, as Hampton Inn and Kristina became the laughing stock of the entire wedding. read more

I was calling to inquire about a block of rooms that were reserved for a wedding. The receptionist answered without emotion and put me on hold in mid-sentence. Once she returned to the phone, I tried to explain to her that I was just wanting to reserve a room included in the blocks, she interrupted me and assumed I wanted to reserve a block of rooms for myself. Once again, for the third time- all I wanted to know was the price for the room with and or without the cut-off for the blocked rooms. She was not helpful at all, I felt like she was not listening to me. I have been in costumer service for several years, and the way she represented the hotel was discouraging. read more

We have stayed at this specific location more than once normally it is mediocre, not bad but not good either. Our most recent stay is a whole different story. When we checked in at the front desk lady was rude to say the least. Due to the virus spreading around the country, no breakfast was offered. I do believe not offering a buffet is a good idea but providing a secondary option would be appropriate. When we inquired about it she said " didn't you use your Hilton Honors Points to pay for the stay, it's not like you were paying for it anyways" and then went on to say we could buy breakfast at the Sheetz across the street. As if the customer service we received wasn't bad enough the bathroom was dirty and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. I was already hesitant to recommend this hotel but after this experience I would discourage people from staying here. read more

Staff is always friendly and courteous. We've stayed a few times investigating out in New Castle. We love to come back everytime.

The location of this hotel was perfect for the wedding that we were attending last night. The service wasn't the greatest. We tried to check in at 3 pm but our room wasn't ready. The gentleman (manager I believe) behind the desk was also very rude and acted as if we came too early. We waited about fifteen minutes and he had come gotten us. The room was nice but a little loud. We left for the wedding and I had forgotten the card. We went back for it but my key wouldn't work. The same man behind the desk reprimanded me for keeping the key near my cell phone and that is why it had deactivated. I brushed it off as I didn't have time for his crabbiness. I most likely won't be back but if I had to go up there again I'd pick another hotel. read more

NO HOT WATER! Sure the room was clean and the staff was friendly BUT they apparently had no authority to help solve the problem. We stayed for three (3) nights and no plumber appeared. The handyman could not fix it and we just got the pleasant run-around. The sad part is that this happened on previous stays and were assured that the hot water problem would be addressed. Recently stayed in this hotel for a wedding. The staff was completely unprepared for having the majority of their rooms booked and were not afraid to rudely share that with the guests in the elevator. Generally everyone of the 35 booked rooms felt unwelcome and somewhat harassed by various staff members throughout the weekend. This was my first time staying in any Hampton and if they train all their customer service members the same it will definitely be my last. read more
