Once inside we were happy to see a welcoming decor and it was immaculately clean. Our tour found a journal of past guest experiences. I sat and read many of them. Several guest were there for the same reason we were, to escape from the stressors of life and relax. We found ourselves laughing at us, city people, trying to remember how to build a campfire without starter logs. We could have been our own comedy sketch. But, we did get enough of a fire to make s'mores and enjoy our own company. Between sitting on the porch rocking, drinking wine to (me) singing with nature before sitting and listening; playing cards at the kitchen table like old men talking mess; talking in front of the fire; and relaxing in the jacuzzi this was a perfect birthday gift. The bed is very low to the floor, but comfortable. During a night rain storm we slept like babies. Our last 15 minutes before checkout was spent sitting on the porch, rocking in the chairs, listening to the rain. We are looking forward to coming back and renting both cabins with friends/family. The rooms are clean. They are well maintained. The hotel manager and service are very nice. There is an outdoor pool for the summertime. It is along a major highway so there is occasionally truck noise. The skies are blue. The air is fresh and crisp. And you might catch a whiff of honeysuckle nearby. There is a small local airport for private planes and in the summertime you might catch a biplane doing loop de loops in the sky. Peace and quiet is the recipe for this motel off the beaten path but still close to farmers who sell eggs and honey. Entertainment can be found to the west in Robertsville at the Hitchin' Post or to the east in MINERVA Ohio. You might even see a horse and buggy at the local grocery store.

This buffet style event included pasta with marinara, Italian greens, Chicken Milanese, garlic green beans, Italian sausage and peppers, carving station with Angus Sirloin, Caesar and tossed salad options and their homemade peppers and oil. Zero and I mean zero complaints on any of it. From the perfectly cooked and tender sirloin to the Chicken Milanese to the pasta, all was absolutely delicious. The dessert table or as we call it here in Youngstown, "The cookie table" included mini cannoli, mini Bundt cakes, homemade cookies and cupcakes. This was not provided by the venue but still worth mentioning because all was delectable. After dining, I proceeded to the outdoor deck that overlooks the ninth hole and the lake and enjoyed a nice after dinner cigar with friends. I had reported a coworker a week prior for threatening to "kill a Muslim if IT" came near him, at work on the clock... he finished his shift. Yet me advocating for Palestinian rights outside of work, off the clock, cost me my job. I just feel like people have the right to know what kind of business they're supporting-- and at The Lake Club, you can be served by someone who threatens to kill people in the kitchen, but not someone who says "free Palestine" 7 hours away from the club.

We were there for 3 months, and everything was great until the owner came back after having surgery. She's something else. She will stalk you. (Not kidding). Very unfriendly and rude. When we first came, we were told if we needed our lot mowed, just to ask because they don't like mowing the monthlies in case someone is napping, etc. So every week, I would politely ask, and it was done. Until the owner came! Then we all got a real ugly letter that I've attached. Our lot was not mowed for 4 weeks, and only then because our neighbor asked for his to be mowed and to mow ours and the person beside him too. There is NO "courtesy" weekly maintenance as she states in her letter. In fact, there's not much maintenance at all. The dumpster overflowed every week. You couldn't get to the left side, so the right side piled up quickly until you couldn't get in period. All it would have taken was "maintenance" to shove the garbage over with a stick to make room. It was disgusting. The owner pulled up in our lot and watched us unload groceries. Really? She was always looking for something to complain about. The quiet hours are understandable, but for the love, relax. God forbid you're outside after 10:00 and somebody cracks a joke and you laugh. She assumes everyone is drinking. And also, God forbid if you have a friend that is hard of hearing and talks loud period. It was really sad to be at a barbecue on a Saturday night and to see the kids outside playing and having fun, but at 10:00, they had to be taken inside their campers. Their sign should say "The fun stops here." She has a sign up in the clubhouse that says "Use this time to do laundry, shower, or converse quietly." Doing laundry after 10:00?!! And there's only 2 washers and 2 dryers. The website is deceitful. They even take the balls out of the pool table and foosball table so no one can play after 10:00. It's ridiculous. They are $100 more a month than all the other campgrounds in the area and charge 5 cents more per kilowatt for power. There's an extra charge for everything. One can't afford to have friends over because she charges so much per person. $25 if you come in after midnight because you will "disturb your neighbors." I'm sure the money doesn't go to the supposedly disturbed neighbor. I've seen a review about how rude the lady named Karen was on the phone. That's her. And Bridget is no longer there, who was the sunshine over the one dark cloud (Karen, the owner.) The only time the place was ever full was on Memorial Day weekend, and the people beside us said the only reason they were there was because the KOA was full. The owner has the nerve to be ugly, then asks you to get some of the people who also work with you to come stay there. Wow. Never. We left as soon as our last month was up even though we still had 2 weeks in Ohio.

I know some of the other vendors who were staffed at my brides wedding personally and they even said that the coordinator is rude and hard to work with and that's it their least favorite venue to work with. The unprofessionalism of this woman ALONE would lead me to NEVER recommend this venue to another person or family who is looking to host one of the most sacred and special ceremonies of their lives. Beyond disappointed with my experience with Avion. Last year my wife and I planned to have a baby…read moreshower for my sister, the day was set for May of 2020. Prior to this we had several events at this hall, and the one next door, including a wedding shower. I can say with full confidence that we will NEVER BE RETURNING. As the pandemic raged we called to see what our options were about the baby shower. We knew that we signed a contract that said we would not get our deposit back due to events outside the halls control. That being said Ohio was in a full shut down and gatherings were not permitted. We were told by management that our event was not part of the shut down because it was a "religious ceremony", and we would not be able to collect our deposit. We questioned them about how this was a religious ceremony, but they would not provide us with an answer. We asked if we had any other options because we did not feel safe having the baby shower, and knew the baby would be born before it was safe to gather again. We were told by an employee that we could either reschedule an event within the year, or we could get our deposits worth in banquet food to go. We were unsure of what to do since the pandemic still had everything closed, and we knew we had a year to figure it out. Fast forward to this May, 2021, we finally felt comfortable to have a few people at our house. We called Avion to use our deposit to get food, but they refused. They told us that we were lying and that buying food was never an option. It is a shame that a local business would take advantage of people during a global pandemic, and make promises that they would later lie about. I would recommend anyone to look elsewhere before scheduling an event with such an untrustworthy organization.
