Excellent stay here! The bed was super comfortable. The room was very spacious, clean, and had no smells. The AC worked flawlessly. All staff members I encountered during my three days here were friendly and helpful. The weather didn't permit pool time, but it was clean and pretty to look at, and the view of the beach was nice. Walking distance to so many food places and shopping. Unlike other hotels I've stayed in, the walls were not paper thin so I had no noise disturbances! Big buffet breakfast in the lobby, and a tiki bar outside. What more can you ask for? Except fluffier pillows - these were flat within seconds, but honestly, that would be my only negative and that's not a dealbreaker at all. Next time, I'll just bring my own. read more

FYI: when you go to check out, there will be parking fees added! The parking fee is not disclosed on your charges you see when you book. It is a hidden fee that you are charged when you check out. It's $15/night for self parking. It can be found only on the "policies" section, where you have to look for additional fees. The staff helped us with a flat tire and with finding clothes we accidentally left. We have stayed here 3 yrs now. It's nice, overall. Not our favorite hotel on the panhandle, but certainly a good place to stop for a night. Great location and a beautiful beach. Close to restaurants and grocery store. read more

I am a Hilton diamond member and was given my two room keys and was told housekeeping would not enter my room and if I needed anything I would need to come to the front desk and ask for them. I went up to my room and my husband asked where the water bottles were. I went back downstairs and had to ask for my Hilton honors check-in benefit. She gave me a bag with two water bottles and two snacks. When I went into the bathroom I found hair on the floor, not mine as I had only been in there for a minute. Also, the door handles were filthy. The inside door handle had fingerprints and lotion on it. The door had toothpaste splattered on it. The shower/bathtub was dirty and the bathroom has mold. In the middle of the night, I noticed something on the sheets itching my leg, I got up and turned on the lights, it was some kind of fluid that had hardened, I was completely disgusted. The deck chair on the balcony looks like they have never been wiped down. I didn't know when the front desk person told me housekeeping won't enter the room, that she meant they don't clean the room or change the sheets in between guests. I am truly disappointed by the lack of cleanliness of our room. The FREE breakfast is basic and was not very good, less than cafeteria quality. The room noise is moderate as the walls are thin and the a/c is very loud. The mattresses are old and lumpy. This place could use a serious remodel. Overall for the average price of $400+ per night, this was a very poor value. Why do people stay here? The view and the fact it is right on the beach. read more

My wife and I hoped to enjoy a nice quiet vacation week while staying at the Hampton Inn at Orange Beach, AL, and it wasn't. We rented what was listed as a nice ocean view room. The room had torn carpet spots with a carpet tack sticking up that you had to avoid stepping on. The bathroom door paint was peeling on the backside. Bathtub had iron stains. Room was looking dated. There is construction of a large apartment building next door and that ruined the outdoor and beach time. Loud constant hammering, concrete frames clanging as they set them, loud cement pumping, construction vehicles and loud noises all day long were really annoying. When we booked, it was listed as free parking. When we checked in, they told me they charge $15 per day for parking. I said it was listed as free when I booked, they said we charge $15 per day as of Jan. 1st. I would recommend you look at other locations. read more

A reasonably priced hotel that is beachside. It is a modern, coastal decorated hotel with clean rooms. That being said, there are a few things that you should be aware of. A) It is a puppy paradise... everyone and their brother brought their dogs. Must be cheaper than boarding them for a weekend at the beach B) The pool is overrun with little kids using the hot tub with minimal to little supervision. C) The pool really needed to be cleaned better... hair and other items floating in the pool. It looked as though someone spilled a drink in the hot tub and there was a nice coating of whipped cream on the surface. Add that to chlorine and sunscreen, and you have quite the cauldron to bubble in. D) There were some shady characters being let into the hotel late at night that rode up the elevator with me. They entered a room on the same floor, and afterwards, the whole floor smelled of marijuana. There were multiple people in and out of that same room the entire stay. These things being said... they did provide a good breakfast, spacious lobby, and the front desk day staff - Liz, Jacelyn, and Vera - were wonderful. I booked a PREPAID overnight stay on February 28 for check out on March 1st on Priceline. I checked in and everything was fine. I left a credit card for incidentals like everyone. Come to find out I was charged for the PREPAID night again by Hampton Inn Orange Beach. I called Hampton Inn Orange Beach to question why I was charged for a night after I PREPAID. The lady was very condescending and treating me horribly. I was given a chance to speak to her supervisor and was led to an answering machine. I called Hampton Inn Orange Beach around 220 PM CDT. The incidental charges should have been a pet fee plus parking fee, not the night for which I was PREPAID. I know errors can be made but they lady made me feel like an idiot as I was double charged that totaled $800 for one night. I sent evidence to AMEX as they are the only ones that want to help to resolve this matter. So much for being a Hilton Honors Member. read more

When check was given a room with loud construction and was not told. Changed rooms and partial beach view was of parking garage and you had to lean over the balcony to see beach and to top it off we were locked out of our room on day2! I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing, particularly with the front desk staff. Upon arrival after a 10-hour drive, I walked in and wasn't even acknowledged. I stood awkwardly until the front desk staff finished their personal conversation before I was helped. Two weeks before my trip, I spoke directly with the hotel and Expedia about needing a larger room after adding a fifth adult to our party. I was told it was noted and taken care of at no additional cost. Yet when I arrived, there was no record of that conversation, and I was told I'd have to pay full price for another room, despite already paying in full through Expedia. Frustrated, I asked if I should call Expedia to sort it out--which I shouldn't have had to do in the first place. The same front desk associate basically said yes. I was exhausted from being up since 2am, and this was the last thing I wanted to deal with. After calling Expedia, they confirmed a record of the request but said it lacked details about a room upgrade. They then called the hotel, spoke to the same associate I did, and magically she got the manager involved. Within minutes, the manager approved the request with zero pushback. Why wasn't this solution offered to me directly? Why did I have to go through hoops for something that could've been resolved right away? When I was finally checked in, there was no clear communication, no directions, no info about breakfast, Wi-Fi, amenities, nothing. I had to ask, "Is that it?" and only then got a quick, "Oh yeah, sorry." Later that evening, I overheard another guest being warmly welcomed, getting full instructions, and even handed a little welcome bag. The contrast was staggering. To be clear: housekeeping and the breakfast staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and a highlight of the stay. My issue lies entirely with the lack of professionalism and care from the front desk associates. I understand mistakes happen, but when guests are driving long distances to spend time and money at your hotel, the bare minimum should be a sense of courtesy and effort to resolve issues,not indifference. My stay here with my big lab was amazing. I love Hampton Inn because there is no dog weight limit. My dog was so happy the entire time. We did end up having to drive to Fort Morgan or Pensacola Dog Beach so he could come with me on the beach though. There is no dogs allowed on the beach in Gulf Shores! Every single employee I met in this hotel was more than welcoming and kind. Two times I left my dog in the room by himself and he ended up locking the switch latch on the door. By the time I told the kind lady at the front desk, the maintenance men were already back at my room before I could get there in the elevator! The second time, the extremely kind young man who was collecting trash and towels from our floor helped me into the room and called maintenance for me, waited with me until they came. The maintenance man that time was extremely kind and helpful as well. I picked my room on the Hilton app and it was the room I got when I got there so I was happy about that! I loved that I could park on the same level parking garage as my room and not have to deal with a lot of people and a big dog everytime we went outside through the lobby! Putting our beach stuff in the car was extremely easy this way as well. I used the digital key the Hilton app provides, and there was no trouble with any of the doors except sometimes the door from the third level parking garage. I always just used the regular key then and it would open. Breakfast was great and the ladies who brought it out always said hello and good morning to all of us! Room service came every other day, which was no problem to me. I saw reviews saying you had to request them, so the hotel has updated that! The hotel on the beachside at night is beautiful with the lights. Overall I had a great stay and would recommend. Obviously the prices went up over spring break and the week long trip, so I think it was $269 a night. $125 pet fee for 5+ nights. read more

Here is the thing:Hotels are for people first, not pets. Too many barking dogs, barking the entire night and mornings/evenings. Too many people with dogs staying here. Parking is,$15 a day, which everybody compkains about and should. We got it removed from our bill but that should never be charged to guests. The parking lot is not guarded or gated or anything special. Some guest or staff member violaring the rules posted on every door saying no cigarettes or marijuana on or in rooms or balconies, which ruins enjoyment. We could see somebody a floor below us whom we think was the person but it was definitely soneone in our building. Bar was great, nice employees working there. Front desk was nice, just did not get dog owners under control. Who wants to stay where dogs are staying and ruining the carpets and barking constantly? Ugh. read more

In town for a wedding, front desk was great minus one female (don't know her name) but was very rude. The coffee maker didn't work.. the remote didn't work, the room keys didn't get us in the building (they're suppose to) and when we needed more towels, to shower to get ready for the wedding it took almost 45 min.... As we had to call 4 times but then Sonya, the house keeper was awesome! The place is clean and decent, the parking is super accessible. read more

The entire experience was a good one. Front desk friendly, the rooms spacious, family friendly, great views. They also offer free breakfast, free parking which is amazing. This place isn't yet ready to call itself "pet friendly." A blind dog fell through the slats in the balcony and died while we there. The slats are too wide, and a small dog or cat could get through. That being said, the dog owner was not smart in letting a blind dog on the balcony. They need signs saying "no pets on the balcony/unsafe for pets." They should also carry cat litter and disposable cat litter boxes- we had to bring ours. Also, the maids left the door open while cleaning our room with our cat inside- she could've easily escaped. We walked in on this. They need to find a solution. The second issue is a few of the staff. The most respectful and cheerful staff member was a lady who was 8 months pregnant. She did a fantastic job taking care of us! But a few of the other staff members that were there Mon- Wed were openly very hostile, angry, and complaining about their job to us. Ignoring us to braid each other's hair. The Thurs- Sunday employees were professional and very polite. The Tiki bar is a bit closed off from the beach, and the chairs are sooo uncomfortable. The bartenders were a lot of fun. The beach is clean and lovely, and they have the whole pool and beach area dialed in to be very clean and convenient. There were a lot of cool nearby places to order from Door Dash. Don't order from Doc's Seafood. Cactus Cantina was excellent. Coastal is a lovely restaurant right next door. The morning breakfast of eggs or omelette, sausage or sausage Patties, and potatoes is soooo good! If you're gluten free, it's a perfect option. There are also yummy bagels, muffins, toast, butter, cream cheese, jellies, etc. and fantastic waffles. Even sinful waffle toppings like caramel sauce, chocolate chips, etc. Some days we barely had room for dinner ;) The whole area is very pretty. They need to make a sidewalk from the hotel to the CVS shopping area. read more

The location is absolutely perfect. Walking distance to Walmart, Publix, and lots of other shops. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. It's off season so it's nice and quiet. Only wish I had an ocean view. 10 days is a long time in such a small space. Next time!!! I will definitely stay here again. Editing to add more photos. We got a partial view room. Translation: a sliver of water at the far end of the building, fully facing a parking garage. No room service. More like a superior motel: you have to go to the front desk for fresh towel, almost for everything actually. Also, don't loose your key, you need it to open most of the doors of the building. Beach lounger is a separate service, $40/day Friendly staff, very nice beach. Pet friendly:$75 for your pet stay ( for the whole stay ) but it has to remain in the room most of the day and taken to the side empty lot to do its business. Having been to many hotels in my life, here and in Europe, this is the less "hotel" I have encountered. It might be due to the pandemic and the restructuring it required. As I said, it is more like a superior motel. I might have to go back to AirBnB because at over $260 a night, it's not worth it! read more

First time for OB and last time for this hotel. Zero housekeeping unless you "request " it. Walls are paper thin. This place felt like a retirement home. Shuts down around 5:30pm. Front desk staff is rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this hotel for a family vacation, a couples vacation, or any place to "get away". Hampton Inn charged me for two sets of beach chair rentals $140 too much and have not refunded me after 10 phone calls to them and 3 phone calls to the beach chair rental place. It took me 8 phone calls to finally get a receipt from my stay emailed which clearly shows I was charged twice. Also, I booked the hotel over The Sleep Inn that would've been cheaper because it had a hot tub and Sleep Inn didn't . We had a great stay over the Labor Day weekend! All the staff were always helpful and friendly. We're definitely staying here again on some of our future vacations. Reservations were made two months in advance & we were made to wait for our room for 2 half hours (6:15 pm) to check in which was at 4:00 pm. only to be given key cards to find a filthy dirty room that had not been cleaned sand all over the main counter/table. The staff is really unfriendly, I had to ask several employees in the lobby & hallways if they worked here because they did not identify themselves with a name tag & were dressed in street clothes/ tshirt attire. Management made no attempt to apologize for the terrible experience. For a Hotel which boasts a Health & Safety Clean Stay program it was nothing close. Location. Location. Location. If you want a beachfront hotel and not a condo experience, this is your hotel. Our oceanfront balcony room on the 7th floor was certainly spacious. However, oddly, there was no closet to hang clothes. Not traveling much post covid, I didn't realize maid service is now upon request. Seriously? For what we paid for the room I am required to request maid service, towels, etc. by 10 am in the morning. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned was obviously handicapped equipped making the room in the shower challenging because of the large pull down bench. Also the drain cap for the tub would not stay open so the tub would fill with water. Plus the faucet needed to be tightened. While I appreciate the free breakfast it was subpar for the area. Maybe it would have been passable if any of the hot food was actually warm. Cold commercial scrambled eggs are not good but even worse when cold. We checked out early because the weather turned bad. My next visit to OB I will consider a condo. read more

Last year we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn OB and decided to try this one this year. I am a loyal Hilton Diamond member and we had a excellent stay. The parking is a covered parking garage. Which was very nice! We arrived an hour before check in and our room wasn't ready we picked on the app. They had one two doors down and that was fine. Our room was very clean and nice. Room was a little smaller then what we had last year but it made up for it with walk out balcony beach view. Bathroom was little bigger then what we had last year at the other resort. Pool was nice as it had a beach entry on one end and spray fountain for the kids. Even had a covered area for those rainy or extra sunny days depending on what you like. Beach was very nice and clean. Beach was and is constantly groomed and maintained. The beach service was spectacular. You pay $30 for one day or discount for each additional day. Best advice is get down their by 8:00 am as their setting up and reserve what beach chairs you want. Breakfast was free and fantastic. Each day is something different or rotated. We stayed 5 nights and these were our choices: cheese egg omelet and sausages, scrambled eggs, western egg omelet, make your own waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and toast, muffins. Rosa will take care of you and always helping and cleaning up. Breakfast can be jammed packed at 8:00 in the morning. So be patient. Construction next door: This did not bother me! I guess for one I had a room far away from it I didn't have to see it. Only heard the noise when we were outside. They did not work late into the evening like other posters have mentioned. And for those complaining. Guess what their will be another resort going in on the other side next year. So get ready! Best: Their were different activities each day. Board games were readily available in the lobby, had treats/snacks some afternoons, photo scavenger hunt, movies by the pool. All of those were unexpected and very welcome. Improvement: Our room was always cleaned each day for 5 nights, soaps and shampoo, towels were always restocked. We couldn't get toilet paper though. We had to ask on 2 different separate occasions during our stay for tp. Their were other guest having to do the same thing. That was weird! Elevators can be a little slow. Be patient as they will most likely stop on every floor. Like I said I've now stayed at both HGIOB and now HISOB. I like both but will probably prefer this one again if I had to choose. I always hate to leave a negative review but I really felt like someone who is in charge needs to hear this. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The first time was 1 year ago. I stayed in a suite and i really have no complaints. With my first experience I expected this time to be no different. My husband is a Hilton Diamond member so when we booked our reservation we made sure to book an ocean front view. Upon arriving we ended up getting the parking deck view. We did ask for an upgrade but didn't get one. The room was not great. It had dust and what looked like mildew where the wall meets the floor. The floor felt moist.. the shower had mildew. It really needs an update. I won't be staying here again until I see they have renovated the rooms. read more

It is very rare that I give 5/5 stars, but the customer service received from when I called to make the reservation until I received my final invoice really deserves 10 stars! Background: Hurricane Dorian messed up our plans so to Orange Beach we shall go. Reservation: I spoke to Michael in reservations and explained our situation. I told him how I found a low rate through a 3rd party, but prefer booking brought the hotel. He not only matched the rate, but also took off a few extra $$. Arrival/Check-in: we arrived super early and was told that check in was at 4 PM. After checking with the front desk a few times while we enjoyed the pool and beach, a room was ready. We were not put in the room I booked. We were put in a Suite and it was huge! Room: the suite consisted of two queen beds, a huge desk, a pull out sofa, a lounge chair, a microwave/fridge/ bar sink and a nice size bathroom. Oh and a deck that overlooked the ocean. Breakfast: The breakfast area had a great layout with not one, but two waffle stations. There was also fresh juices and smoothies and two hot options. On our first morning we have sw omelets and turkey sausage. On the next morning we have cheese omelets and regular sausage. They also offered whole and cut up fruit, cold cereals and oatmeal. Oh and if you were on the run, grab a snack bag to go. Pool area: partially covered pool and cover hot tub. A good amount of lounge chairs, but you have to grab them quickly. They also had ample amount of towels for you to use. They refilled the towels throughout the day. Bar: the bar offered a handful of mixed cocktails and domestic beer. I did wish that they offered some craft beers, but that's ok. They did offer a special Of a grilled hotdog, bag of chips, and bottled water for $2 on one of the days. Staff: everyone was awesome, but the person who stood out above the rest was Julius. My first encounter with him was when he was wiping the water off the lobby floor. My son wanted a boogie board so I asked if they had any. He immediately offered to check for us. Even though there weren't any, he was apologetic. He also brought out rocket popsicles to all of the guests by the pool and bar. Super nice touch. We will definitely be back again to visit soon! read more

Checked in on Monday, Memorial day 2023. We got here earlier than planned so we were not expecting to be able to check in, but gave it shot anyways. And guess what? Our room was ready and we were able to check in. Since walking in the front doors Monday afternoon and walking down to the beach, each step has been better than the last. We check out Friday so I'm pretty excited to see what the next cpl days have in store. The breakfast every morning has been great. Only complaint is there's a little league ball team also staying and the parents just let them run wild. No discipline to be found. It took me about 30-45 min to get mine and my daughter a waffle that should have taken about 10 min. From spilling the batter, to not using the non stick spray before using the waffle maker. I know kids are going to be kids, but come on. Parents, how about being parents and keep your kids being kids. Otherwise, the breakfast area was super clean, the food was fresh. read more

Not a fan... this hotel is very dated and way too small for the amount of people that stay here. We just stayed there and other than being in a great location, that's all it has going for it. You hear everything going on in the halls from your room. People talking, doors slamming, TV's blaring. You get absolutely no peace and quiet whatsoever at any point while in your room - even in the middle of the night. The breakfast area is way too small for the amount of people they are serving. There were a few issues with our stay at this hotel. We stayed overnight hoping to play on the beach and enjoy the area. Orange Beach is a great place to play and vacation, but we will not be going back to this hotel again, even though we are Hilton Gold members. The night we stayed there was an event in the hotel and it was crowded and the hotel staff seemed completely overwhelmed. The room came complete with mold in the bathrooms and was very small for the two queen beds that were squeezed in. The pool area was dirty and did not have any complementary towels (as promised) on two separate visits. The final straw was the internet kept dropping. We enjoyed the beach, but next time we will try another type of accommodations. read more
