This might be one of the nicest Hampton Inns that I have stayed in. From the friendly staff to the perfect cleanliness, to a safe and convenient location for mid-coast Maine, you really can't beat it. The biggest downside is that there isn't much open late in the area so you might have a bit of a drive for dinner if you get a late start. That being said, it's a really nice area to go for a walk if the weather is nice, day or night. read more

A good enough hotel but below average for Hampton Inn in some regards, such as fewer breakfast items (no fresh fruit), missed housekeeping one day, but its OK and we had a nice stay. The location in Bath is great and plenty of parking. Riverview rooms are maybe not worth the extra cost. read more

Stayed here last Tuesday evening after a day in Boothbay (most of those rooms had already been booked). Hotel is near the waterfront and lots of nice parks in the area, but had several interesting characters walking around the street before the turnoff... the bathroom was big and the room decent sized and clean. But, the main star here was the breakfast! There was an assortment of pastries, waffles (complete with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips), mini omelettes, oatmeal, biscuit and gravy, coffee, juice, . I was impressed. Would stay at a Hampton again. Rates were reasonable as well. Staff even gave us a few suggestions of some light houses to visit in the area. 2021 #79 read more

Stayed here for a work trip. This was one of the nicest little hotels that I've stayed in, especially since it's not one of the pricier business class hotels. The room was spotlessly clean and had all the usual essentials you'd want such as mini-fridge, microwave, ironing board, etc. Breakfast was included and was typical, but ok. I would have preferred more fresh fruit and some fat-free yogurt. What I really liked about this place is that it had windows that actually open! I had a view onto the Kennebec River. Try finding hotels, especially business class chain hotels, that have windows which open. It's pretty rare, so this was a nice surprise. read more

Ok laundry here is a nightmare, one washer and dryer for the whole place, expensive and always busy, but I'm trying to not hold that against the hotel. Indoor pool, fitness center and computers to use. The common areas all large clean and newer. Room was large with typical amenities all worked well and clean. Average hotel breakfast. Staff very polite, knowledgeable about area and helpful. 5 min walking distance to grocery, shops, and restaurants but not in the middle of it all, nice place to stay at a fair price. read more

I have to thank this hotel + hotels.com for being so reasonable & accommodating when canceling our hotel that was booked for my daughter's upcoming graduation in May at Bowdoin. Flying from California, we were all excited to celebrate her Senior year in style. We had so many things planned, and wanted to eat endless lobsters. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus scare, the College canceled the rest of the semester. My daughter is devastated to finish out her Senior year this way, not getting to walk on stage with her friends & having to say "goodbye" now! We're also devastated and can't do anything to console her being 3000 miles away. Immediately, we contacted hotels.com to cancel, praying to get our refund back. The call went smoothly, and this hotel made the process easy by refunding our stay - PHEW! My mom, sister, and I stayed her for a few nights while we were visiting Bath, Maine. And this hotel was by far the best choice we made. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, and always made sure we were happy and got everything we needed. They gave us multiple suggestions on places to eat, things to do, and were very helpful. New hotel, friendly staff, and well designed grounds. The bathrooms smell a little funky; not bad, not good, just funky. Breakfast is what one might expect at a lower-middle chain; average. The staff is young and very friendly. The grounds are well kept. Rooms either have a view of two parking lots and the Kennebec River; the other side looks out to old trees and a grassy hill. This hotel features a hot breakfast, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a wonderful location. Just off of Route 1 on the Kennebec River, it is an easy walk to many shops and restaurants - with a trolley pick up at the door if you'd rather. It is a quick drive to two awesome Maine State Parks - Popham Beach and Reid State Park - both within 30 minutes, both with sandy beaches and beautiful scenery. Rooms were comfortable and well organized; staff was friendly and helpful...there were even umbrellas left near the entrance for guests to use on a rainy day. River views and plenty of parking added to the enjoyment.....rates were summer-on-the-Maine-coast typical, though I feel it was worth the cost. read more

Had a wonderful stay here. The rooms are huge, very spacious and very clean. The staff was very friendly, helpful and acommodating. The hotel could not be located in a more convenient location, just a block from the cute downtown Bath area, with lots of nice shopping, antiques, arts, jewelry, cafes and restaurants. The grounds were nicely ladnscaped, plenty of parking, and very easy to get to. Our room had a beautiful view of the water. Breakfast was much more than just continental, with several hot options while we were here (on the weekend), including waffles, omlettes, and oatmeal with lots of add-ins. The staff was very helpful, and apologetic that they were out of honey that I wanted to add to my oatmeal, but made several suggestionss of alternatives. The lounge/dining area is lovely, very clean and comfortable. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day was a nice touch. All in all, a great stay. read more

I have to give this place considering we booked it super last minute after having a terrible experience upon checking in at the Best Western Plus (think pubic hair on the tub, hair all over the bathroom floor and no option given in terms of changing rooms or having anyone clean up the mess-feel free to read my other review). After making several calls, Hampton Inn came through for us. This isn't the cheapest place to stay, but it was worth it knowing the bathroom was clean, the rooms made right and a staff who cared. It's also right next to the water and makes for a nice walk/run in the mornings or evenings. They have a decent workout room and a nice pool. Their free breakfast is average but let's be honest here, you didn't come here for the breakfast, right? Or maybe you did. I enjoyed a waffle and made myself a bacon egg mcmuffin sandwhich. Nice, quiet room near the historic district. Didn't get what I asked for when I made the reservation but they tried to accommodate. Room was clean and parking was ample. Beds are extremely comfortable and the heater in the room was able to keep up with the 3F temperatures. The hotel was extremely quiet even though they were anticipating some sort of team visiting. Breakfast is served from 6 to 10 but don't try to get anything early as it is partitioned off. read more

This is a nice hotel with a beautiful view of the Kennebec River right in downtown Bath. Staff has always been kind and accommodating--let us extend our reservation on the fly last visit. We hear good things about the complimentary breakfast. Only lost a star because we have Hilton rewards status and should be offered complimentary water bottles and snacks and such upon arrival and the reception staff didn't do that until we asked after check in. The staff at this location makes this hotel my favorite hotel and makes my trips to this location, for business, worth the trip. The staff is always pleasant, kind and will assist in anyway they can. The location of the hotel is very convenient for both work and down time. Everything is within walking distance. Once I arrive I park my car and let my feet handle the transportation. Great place to stay! We rolled in without reserving a room beforehand and they accommodated us very easily. The girl at the front desk was very helpful answered all of our questions about the area. Breakfast is good here, but the hotel is also within easy walking distance of many good cafés and restaurants. It's also not hard to drive to Popham beach, which is a great spot. Free wifi is always a huge bonus at hotels, and this Hampton checks that box. Room was clean, wifi was free, staff was helpful, location was great- I can't complain. read more

I am a loyal Hilton Honors member and try to stay at a Hilton Family of hotels when I can. One of the things I like about Hampton Inns is you know what you are getting each and every time. The rooms and the lobby can be swapped out from location to location and you would never know the difference - I mean this in a good way. The front desk staff was friendly upon my check in. Each time I passed the desk going in or out the clerk always greeted me and asked how I was doing. The room was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well. The TV had plenty of stations to choose from for watching. The waterfront view was uninspiring as it looked upon a working harbor but its location very near the heart of historic downtown Bath with the shopping and eating establishment is what makes this hotel valuable. I used this as my base for sightseeing up and down the coast of middle Maine. read more

My family spent three nights here and found it very peaceful and comfortable. The beds, blankets and pillows were awesome! The kids really enjoyed the pool and the full breakfast.
