I stayed here a week and it was fabulous. I remembered it from a stay years ago. The most comfy bed and black out curtains, one could sleep all day, I like residence inns as they give you your own furnace with fresh out side air. Joan and the woman with red hair whose name I unfortunately forgot are wonderful, very accommodating and professional, especially when I first checked in in an emergency, I will stay here again gladly! read more

The room I was assigned had no been properly cleaned. There was a lot of noise from neighboring room. I heard very loud snoring. I was disappointed with my stay. I tried to put the fan on for white noise to drown out the snoring but the the system was configured so that I couldn't get the fan to stay on. I ended up not getting much sleep. read more

Ok now - I'm sold more and more on the Marriot branding - since I've joined the Marriot rewards. This spot is pricier than normal it's not your average room. It's a spacious suite. Every room is a suit - kitchen and living area as well. It is very meticulous. I was impressed with their breakfast options. Gluten free, fresh spinach and scallions - fresh yogurt and fruit. My now husband took me to the botanical gardens last year to propose with our infant daughter. The staff was just as kind to us then as they were this year on our return. They treated our 15 month old as the little princess she is. The woman who runs the breakfast & evening snacks/desserts went completly out of her way for us & was the sweetest thing ever. Someone from a higher office might want to start looking deeper into the place. The way people are treated there is un-friggin believable. The guy that "runs" the place (HR) is a bully. Brags about it also. The housekeepers tips get stolen, almost daily. They know by who, but know that if they speak up they will be fired and harassed for an extended amount of time. Can't call his boss because they have it so you always end up getting the run around. I'm still calling all the numbers for their " corporate office and for some reason I always end up connected to the one I'm calling about. I guess I am damn lucky I dont have kids at home, because I was told some stories about how he treats single mothers and women that have been through it. Sad thing is he has told his version of the same stories with little twist and a grin. Like how he "had" to fire one girl because she wasn't honest with him about her situation. Even though she came to work everyday and even came in on her off days (because she was treated like crap if she didn't). Come to find out this girl is a cashier around town (has been for years). Hell of a worker. She had just been in the hospital. Got out of a DV situation and was made to feel like it wasnt a big deal. To get over it. The room needs to be "cleaned" in 20 mins so it can be rented right out. What you and your children were and still are dealing with isn't as important as the room.Thats how you are made to feel there. Makes You wonder now, really how clean are those rooms getting?? Then there was the young lady that had an elderly mother she was taking care of. He fired her for needing to change her schedule (like they agreed on when she was higher). The kids were going back to school, she needed one extra day. For her mother because she cant be completely alone without help. The young lady who's child was extremely sick. She had to take some time off. Everyday after the first day, she got a text from two different people in the office. One was the head housekeeper asking when you'll be back in to work? How much longer do you think you'll be out? Then one from Mr. HR. Then a phone call from the head housekeeper or the other lady in the office. Then you would get a couple from Mr. HR. Or they would try calling her in everyday she was out. Making her feel bad. I understand being short handed, but your staff, (not including housekeeping and anyone that isn't in charge of another department) do absolutely nothing but screw around, make the staff that are busting their a** feel like lowlifes, take from them, bully and use fear tactics. Shoot I was told they use to have a picnic table to sit at. After it was torn apart, they were told they were getting a new one. As of my last day, pretty recently. They still didnt have a table to sit at. Some of them don't dare to take breaks or their lunch breaks, because then they will be there sometimes until 7-8pm at night. Thats after going in at 9 am and waiting 30 ish minutes for your board, and hope you get to your tips before someone else does. Then about 20 minutes to load you busted up cart, with things you either have to go look for, or the kid they have in charge of housekeeping forgot to do an order again. Can't do our jobs if you fail at giving us the supplies to do them with. If I was corporate I would be checking out some stuff. I really think that some of the former employees should get together and do something. I lasted only a couple weeks, maybe a little more. I was forced to worK 10 hours or more a day, without a break. I mean really you can take a break if you doing mind hearing about it. One good thing though. They make it up to you with coffee sometimes. But you have to wait 4 hours after they offer it to get it. I really don't know why someone hasn't spoke up, you've had some really dedicated people there and lost them because its more important making sure the rooms look clean, then it is to treat people better and listen to the people that actually clean your business and make it so people want to be there. I really hope that as many as possible, former employees of the last few years get together and talk. At least to be able to tell someone that will listen how terrible someone you places re to work. I'd rate this fairly new Marriott a solid 4.5 and I'm only subtracting since it's on Rt 1 and our view was of a construction site. Zero curb appeal but once inside, it's a different story. I'd still return depending on my destination in Maine. We stayed here after leaving Portland to be closer to Boothbay and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens holiday light display. It was about 40 minutes away. This is a new design for Residence Inns And I'd say very successfully executed. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with separate bedroom. A large kitchen area with 2 bar stools ( no dining table), the living area seems smaller. The bathroom was very spacious with a great new shower glass door system. We found the design worked great!! Breakfast area is very well laid out with plenty of seating . They even had iced coffee!! Although you really need to drive to Bath, it offers a really nice array of shops for exploring. A beautiful kitchen store, children's and toy shops as well as a lovely art/ craft shop. There's a coffee shop that looked very inviting and was packed. It's a block from the waterfront on the river and a nice walking street! read more

Not a bad place but way overpriced. Great breakfast and clean rooms. Air conditioner was so loud I though someone was running a Harley outside the window. It literally woke me up all night long as it turned off and on. I would not stay here again as a result but if you use ear plugs or are a very sound sleeper you'll find this a great place to stay, even at the high price. The breakfast is one of the best I've had at a place like this, the rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you could want or need. The bath/shower is excellent. Couldn't find HBO type programming. It's probably there, I was too tired to try to find it. That could have been a bit easier or maybe it was just me. If you're a light sleeper or don't like overpaying for a room, don't stay here. Otherwise it's a good stop. The trolley to downtown stops at the front door so you could park here and go into town without a car if you wanted to. Very friendly staff. read more

Thanks for treating us as valued patrons. We stayed with Marriott points and as a platinum member, the staff gave us a complimentary upgrade from studio to one bedroom. When we arrived in our room, it wasn't clean so they gave us another one bedroom which had some smoke smell and they ended up giving us a two bedroom and it was a huge suite. The room was very clean and the upgrade was a plus to our vacation. Great staff, great hotel and if you are in the area, you have to stay here as the breakfast was a plus and the workout room was huge. Glad we chose to stay two nights. Oh and gold and platinum members get free high speed wifi. read more

I had the privilege of having a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn in Bath, ME this past week. I've stayed at many Marriott properties around the country, and this is the best Residence Inn I've visited. The hotel is new, very clean, and has a great staff. The GM, Kali Liimatainen, was fantastic, courteous, and professional, offering me special perks for being a Platinum Elite member. I have nothing but great things to say about this place!! Everyone was SO NICE! The staff was truly great, which made my stay even better. I was there for a total of 10 days and each day the staff was so nice and helped tremendously. The housekeeping staff was so on point and did such a great job keeping the hotel clean. The room was nice and clean when we arrived and anything I needed, they were right there to assist. Even when my baby threw up all over the bed, they were so nice about changing and remaking our bed. Having the kitchen was extremely helpful and helped us save so much money. I was able to cook nice home cooked meals for my husband who we were visiting and he was so thankful. The stovetop does take a long time to cook on, but nonetheless it got the job done! For sure loved this place and wanted to stay even longer but they were sold out. 10/10 would recommend! Because the Airbnb we rented was a flop, we needed a two bedroom suite in a hurry and this hotel pulled through in the middle of the very packed tourist season. We stayed a total of 5 nights and have nothing but wonderful things to to say. Every staff member was accommodating, congenial and helpful but a special shout out to Paul the manager, who went out of his way to ensure that we could stay in our room the whole five days by calling incoming guests and rearranging rooms. Our room was perfect for two couples. Two bedroom suite with a common area and kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove top and microwave. The room was clean, the kitchen was perfect for preparing small meals and beds were comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. Breakfast included healthy choices, such as fresh cut fruit in sealed cups, non-fat greek yogurt, cheese sticks but also, eggs, waffles, bagels, and more. Oh, and the coffee was prefect with an almond milk option! The location is close to major highways making it easy to travel to southern or northern locations. I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this hotel. read more

Needed a quick getaway with hubby and came to the Residence Inn in Bath due to its proximity to Freeport. What a lovely hotel! Sure it's comfortable and clean but what really makes it special is the people. From Debbie at the front desk who greeted us when we arrived (and gave us great recommendations for dinner) to Arthur in the kitchen and the morning front desk manager Joan, everyone was so kind ,helpful and most of all, welcoming. There was a small incident where another guest burning popcorn at 11:00pm setting off the smoke alarms (note to hotels everywhere, it probably isn't advisable to give people complementary microwave popcorn. Have you learned nothing from working in an office setting? People cannot be trusted!). But this did not spoil our stay at all. Breakfast was delicious and Plentiful including waffles, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, sausage, fruit, Greek yogurt, cereal, oatmeal and hard boiled eggs; something for everyone. I have to mention how amazing the customer service is at this hotel. From the moment we've checked in, to the housekeeping and management. I called the front desk and mentioned something minor about the room. They instantly came to fix it and personally sent a bottle of wine and a plate of cookies as an apology. Our family came to Bath under sad circumstances - to celebrate the life of a dear family member who passed New Year's Eve. We arrived just in time for the severe winter storm and we were confined to the hotel with 6 kids and 4 adults. The hotel put games out for the kids, drinks all day long, and best of all they cooked a fantastic hot meal for all the people staying here tonight free of charge. Their hospitality was incredible!
