Hampton Inn was one of the host hotels for my son's gymnastics meet. We stayed here for two nights. Even with the group rate, it was still pricey for the location and state of the hotel. Our double bed room was old and outdated. However, it was clean and we slept comfortably both nights. The lobby and dining room were tiny. There's nowhere to sit and wait once the dining room is closed. Breakfast included the normal continental breakfast items, plus warm eggs, bacon, waffles, and more. It wasn't very appetizing, but at least it was free. On our second morning, we decided to eat breakfast somewhere else. The staff at check-in was friendly and made it quick and painless for our group who arrived late Thursday night. The ladies at breakfast were also nice and helpful. read more

The property is in need of a deep cleaning and major updates. The lobby, dining area and fitness center are tiny. Chairs in the dining area were extremely dated and stained. stopped here as we were driving through. it was late. as we got into the room it smelled and was dirty, but the sheets were clean. it was only after we got settled that I noticed that the knob on the shower was gone. the lady at the front desk was super nice and apologetic. we moved to another room, passing an open breaker box in the hall. After we got settled in the room the nice lady said there was an issue with the toilet and would move us yet again. it was late and the kid was already asleep, so we said we would deal. read more

This was only an A-OK experience at the Hampton in Battle Creek, where I stayed four nights. The hotel is near restaurants and retail shopping, with the Lakeview Mall within walking distance. My room was clean and the housekeeping staff did a good job of resetting it the one day I took the Do Not Disturb off, they honored it the other times it was on the door. Coffee service, plenty of towels, the bed was comfortable (though quite high off the floor) and the wifi worked well. Breakfast in the morning was consistent with the Hampton brand. Eggs or pre-prepared omelets, a breakfast meat plus bread for toasting, fresh fruit, juices and yogurts. The breakfast area was clean and well cared for. My main complaint here is the noise. This hotel is right next to the Interstate and there was a good amount of noise from the trucks passing on the highway. The situation was improved with earplugs but it was still distracting. There isn't much that they can do about it, so it's just something to deal with. Second problem is that the doors in the hallways slammed a lot. The door to my room was not completely fitted so there was some room between the door and the jamb. Still secure, but not a tight fit. Also a good gap under the door for noise. There aren't any other choices for Hampton properties in Battle Creek, so when I am back, I would likely stay have to here again. [Review 11036 overall, 809 of 2019.] read more

Nope! Needs major changes! The lobby was hideously hot. Service was very unfriendly. I was given a key to a room which required a trip on the the elevator. Some type of poster was pulled off and nothing replaced it. In the room, there was a huge gap between the door and wall. Felt very uncomfortable/unsafe. Smoke alarm was removed from wall.. Carpet was stained. Furniture was knicked. There was no way I was trying breakfast. There are other places to stay in BC. read more

I booked through booking.com; showed up to be told they were dealing with unexpected construction and that we could request an early check out as there was no room that wouldn't be affected due to the very loud construction noise. the hallways were filled with construction materials and should have been closed down completely as this was a huge fire hazard speech. we had to find another hotel at the last minute. it's been over a month and they still have not refunded my money. I have called repeatedly, I have contacted both Hampton corporate with no response and booking.com is saying the hotel is "still expecting me" despite the fact that this was a month ago. read more

I'd have to call this a mixed review at best. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and had me checked in quickly. I was given a room where the window faced a wall. Not sure if that's to give their Diamond elites more privacy. The bed was a bit lumpy and high off the ground. Getting out of bed in the morning just required pivoting and sliding to the floor. I have no comment on the housekeeping since they forgot to clean my room. I had the do not disturb on the door until 11 a.m.. I guess that suggests that housekeeping will only make up your room until 11 a.m. Fortunately I had enough towels. Breakfast was on the up side. Very friendly attendant. Nice selection of items including cheese omelette on one day and ham & cheese scrambled eggs on the next. They looked to have a nice pool and hot tub, although I didn't bring a bathing suit. I did try the fitness room which had 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical as well as free weights. These were lower model Precor units with no video and programmable options. The treadmill closest to the window was in great need of servicing. Very unbalanced. High speed running may cause it to tip over. High speed internet is free (as usual with Hamptons). Other than the person in the room over me doing the in-room Beachbody workout at 5:30 a.m., there were no other issues. read more

This Hampton Inn has really been neglected. I only stayed here because the only other Hilton Property in Battle Creek had no rooms available. This Hampton Inn was old and run down. It feels unclean, and unsafe. The linens felt old and ragged, the carpet was spotted and worn. The furniture chipped, stained and very old. The price for this Hotel was very High for the quality of the property. The pool has been closed for months, the ice machine on the first floor out of order. The only bright spot is that the staff was very friendly. I will not be staying at this property ever again. read more

We are here for a high school reunion, and this hotel is sadly in need of some updating. Rooms are very dark with a color scheme from the 80s, our phone doesn't work, and so far it's been very difficult to get on the Internet. But what do you expect for such a low price? Butlers? By far, the worst Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. Wallpaper throughout was peeling, large dents in the walls, and a hole in the ceiling. Our room smelled upon entering and throughout our entire stay. The front desk didn't have room spray to lend us but we could drive to the Walmart and get some, because they're open 24/7. Thank you for that info. The shower faucet dripped 24/7 like a metronome at high speed. Had to go to the front desk to request towels and washcloths. We rented 6 rooms and not one single room had a toilet paper roll holder or a hook on the bathroom door; there was either a mounting plate with no hook or a hole where the plate was once attached. For $175 a night, I expected better accommodations. On the plus side, we weren't in the room much and it was only one night. Makes me question why Hampton would allow their name to be on this nasty property. If they can't see fit to raise this hotel to higher standards, then they should do customers a favor and raze the building. read more

The staff went above and beyond to make this a pleasant experience. They worked to our schedules for checking in at odd hours, changing schedules due to weather, odd cleaning times around our schedule, and late check out. The breakfast was wonderful for a morning buffet of this type. My sister is the mother of 3 with an autistic son that states his mind a little too bluntly. The wonderful buffet hostess treated him in the perfect sweet and stern way that had us wanting to hire her and take her home. The next day, she even put all of his favorites out. Hotel is newly remodeled, clean, and comfortable. The beds are high, but comfortable. The hot tub is small, but enjoyable. Shower has good pressure. Location is nearly the mall and plenty of food options. Only down side is that you can hear the traffic on I94 if facing that way. I've stayed at a lot hotels in Battle Creek, and have usually left with my skin crawling. This was my first pleasant experience at a hotel in town. I have been told it had it's rough years, but it's under new management and friendly staff now. It's one of the best in town now. No, it's not a five star hotel, but perfect for average business or family travel. When they found out we were there for a funeral, they brought us a sympathy card signed by every member of the staff with personalized comments. I don't know a hotel that does that level of personal touch. I would go there again in a heart beat. read more

Not my favorite Hilton property... All bad reviews of hotels start with "there was this smell"... Weird smell, the staff say it is smoke - I am a smoker - it is not smoke... I felt like lifting up my mattress to be sure there was not a body rotting under it. Lots of highway noise - like the trucks are in the room with you... So, I'm not staying there any more... They have this 100% satisfaction guarantee, but I'm not really a complainer... Then they started harassing me with this series of requests to fill out a survey...Not once, not twice, but three times they send me this form.... Finally I fill it out, honestly - including the bit about the mystery liquid on the night stand that managed to stay there for the whole time I was there.... They send me this nice letter and refund my corporate card for 1 of the nights....Now I have to figure out how to work a refund into my travel voucher... Grrrrr.... On the other hand...It would have been 1 star without the friendly letter. They gain another star for the nice Hampton beds and comforters. The first star is for the unfailingly nice and polite staff who probably deserve better customers then me. read more

You get what you pay for, I guess. But in this case you get even less. Usually when we stay at a Hampton Inn, we count on a fairly consistent high level of quality. This was not the case with the Hampton Inn in Battle Creek, Michigan. It was incredibly dirty. Our bathroom ceiling had a leak dripping from it. The roof on the third floor was leaking quite a bit, enough that there were buckets in the hallway. The pool was not available as advertised. There were no ice buckets in any of the rooms. We struggled to get clean towels and they didn't provide housekeeping on the weekend. We couldn't get our WiFi access to work correctly. There was only one small space for groups to congregate which made it difficult for baseball teams, families and other hotel guests to share facilities. Very short staffed. The manager was helpful and clearly doing her best for the situation she had to manage. We did appreciate the ability to adjust the temperature within our hotel room. read more

We just stayed at the Hampton Inn in Battle Creek, MI. I figured that since it was owned by Hilton, it would be a quality hotel. Well, I could not have been more wrong. At check in we were informed that the pool was closed for a few days for maintenance and the website was not updated. We later found out that the pool has been closed for 2 years. Furthermore, our room was dirty and very well worn. There were holes in the carpet with the shredded fibers hanging on as trip hazards. In addition, all of our desk and dresser drawers were fully opened and would not remain closed. We immediately went to the front desk to report the problem and the desk clerk handed us a roll of packing tape and instructed us to tape the drawers shut. Our refrigerator in our room was non-existent. The room smelled of 2 year old cigarette smoke. I find it hard to fathom that the Hilton would put their name on this one. Just an awful all around experience. The staff was rude and not accommodating. All for $256 per night. Very disappointed in both the Hampton and the Hilton. I am a Hilton Honors member and I guess I'm back to reading all reviews before booking to avoid dissatisfaction. I am a business owner and recognize that the last few years have been difficult for all of us, but that is no excuse for poor quality and service. read more

Hey, been a while but I'm back in action. Just haven't been motivated lately, but I admit I miss sharing and reading Yelp reviews. First review after a hiatus of several months is what has to be the shittiest Hampton Inn I've ever been to. Probably the oldest too. This Hampton is located right next to I-94 so you can get a earful of all the truck noise going on. The first thing you notice is how small everything is. The lobby is small, the breakfast area is small, the pool is small, the rooms are small. Damn, that ruler must have been calibrated for centimeters not inches when they designed the place. Now the room itself, on the small side. Just enough room for a desk and a bed. Bathtub in the room had a few chinks of ceramic knocked out of it, but at least it was clean. Biggest complaint about the room was the climate control, it was one of those window boxes that spewed out hot dry air when it was on, and did nothing if you turned it down. So you were either roasting in hot dry heat or freezing your balls off. Pool was scary, murkey green water in what has to be one of the smallest pools of water I've ever seen. Breakfast was a bit of an ordeal as people had to climb over one another to get at whatever they wanted. The food wasn't bad, but it was cramped getting at the food and eating it. All this for about $110 a night. It'll be a while before I stay here again. read more

They have decent prices, including an indoor pool & hot tub. The rooms are very clean and nice. They offer just about anything you need. Although my son was still asleep during breakfast, the food was ok. They only offer it until 10 am, maybe until 10:30 would be awesome . It's a very relaxing place to stay for a night away from home. read more

Stayed in this hotel for a last minute trip to town because of the death of the family member. Had stayed here about 5 years ago and had no issues back then so decided to try it. Big Mistake! The underside of the toilet seat in our room was dirty. The heat in our room blew out mostly cold air and the ice machine on the first floor was inoperable so we had to ride up the elevator to the 3rd floor to get ice. The elevator did not feel very stable and was jerky. On top of it all, after we left, we discovered they stole $50 out of our bank account. We contacted the hotel and they said it was because they had to deep clean the room. This was a total lie as we were in town for a funeral and were barely able to use our room. Very disappointed in this hotel. I would stay far away from them, and do not trust them with your bank account information! Apparently they use stressful situations that their guests have and try to make them more stressful by finding excuses to get a little extra money out of them. Despite the issues we had, we were still planning on using them for a multi night stay on spring break, because we realize that occasionally, something can be missed accidentally. We now will be finding a reliable hotel in the area.
