This is a very unprofessional, unorganized hotel. Staff are rude. I purchased two nights at this hotel. I requested an alternate date. The hotel was unwilling to adjust the date. When I asked for a refund, they refused. I'm giving this hotel 1 star because they were unprofessional, and came across as thieves. They charge customers upfront, but refuse to make accommodations or issue refunds. 1/5 Unprofessional, rude, uncompromising. When I requested to speak to corporate, they transferred me to a call center, where the person on the other line was trying to convince me that I'd won $100 and needed my credit card information. I called back a second time to speak with a representative at this branch. I spoke with the manager, who rudely told me that had two options; give the reservation to a friend, family, or be charged for the stay without anyone staying at the residence. He also informed me that I wasn't getting refund before rudely hanging up. Do NOT stay at this hotel. Save your money, go elsewhere. read more

The hotel is nice and well-located. The room is small, but clean. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. I want to shout out to DK who was very helpful, courteous, and professional. I observed how he went the extra miles to help out a customer with an issue with the room amenities. Hampton should hire more employees like DK. My only disappointment was the breakfast buffet. There should be more fresh fruits and cut fruits served daily. Bananas were the only fresh fruit and they looked old and bruised. Overall, our stay was good. read more

"Death by A Thousand Cuts" This hotel worked hard for the title of this review. Unfortunately, what could have been a lovely stay turned into a dreadful experience due to the consistency of issues. This is the type of hotel that looks amazing for investors who do a quick walk-through, but if they stayed there then they'd pull back funding. Room 1111 was my room. 1st, let me recount the positives.... The staff! The front desk woman was extremely friendly from such a genuine place. She gets 5 stars! Now onto the bad... THE BATHROOM My 1st indication that this hotel was negligent was the bathroom door. It was installed poorly, so that I could barely open and close it. I couldn't imagine being disabled, weak, or elderly in this room with this door. Does management ever visit these rooms? Are they aware of how inaccessible and ultimately hostile a room like this is for anyone facing physical constraints? I felt like Sisyphus pushing his heavy rock, wondering if there was any point to this particular suffering. TECHNOLOGY Tvs Prince must have stayed here, because I felt like I was back in 1999! 1st, the TV... The remote control had a Netflix button and an Amazon Prime button, but they didn't work. I called to the front desk, and they explained that there was no Netflix, Prime, or ANY web platforms on the TVs. Again, this was fine in 1999, but in 2022 this is a ridiculous oversight. The only shows I watch in real time are sporting events- everything else is On Demand. At this point I wondered if the hotel management was intentionally sabotaging the hotel. The TV also had no guide to scroll through. Instead, they basically had the old school TV Guide channel that scrolled on its own 1 channel at a time. I was shocked that the TV commercials didn't show ads for Gimbel's or Woolworth's! I half expected the shows to be in black and white. USBs... So there were zero working USB ports in this hotel room. It's as if cell phones weren't yet invented, but I do recall getting my first cell phone in 1999 so I'm not sure what happened. There was 1 USB port built into the side of the desk, and it was broken. Usually hotels will either have USBs by the side of the bed, OR they'll get alarm clocks with them. Management at this hotel decided that the comfort and basic needs of guests are not important. Again- are they attempting to shut down the hotel in order to file for bankruptcy? Is there some insurance payout they're banking on? It was all very strange. Hotel App This hotel app had no helpful information, and the hotel also didn't have a helpful booklet to fill in any gaps. No checkout info or anything. Also no chatting functionality to communicate with hotel staff. It's as if they want to waste their staff's time picking up the phone and answering basic questions. On the bright side, the digital key did work! TEMPERATURE Hotel Room FREEZING! Generally hotels allow you to turn the heat up to 80 degrees, but of course that's not the case here. The highest it supposedly went up to was 75, but in reality it never increased past 72. When I'd turn the heat on it felt like cold air was pumping through the room. The blankets felt like they were purchased en masse for a cult- not warm at all. Water The sink was also freezing, and consistently took 2-3 minutes for the sink water to get hot. The shower NEVER got hot, only very warm. This was fine for me, but if you like hot showers PLEASE avoid. BREAKFAST Breakfast was quite tasty, there was a nice spread of fruit, eggs, meats, yogurts, breads, etc. Waffle maker There was NEVER any oil spray for the waffle maker, so I asked one of the staff. They didn't seem to understand my request, and I think they just brought out a spray to clean it. So I watched multiple guests struggling with picking out the waffles that inevitably got stuck to it. CLEANLINESS This hotel was very clean, the hotel staff should be commended! Everything felt very sanitized, please give the cleaning staff a raise. CHECKOUT I called in the AM to request a late checkout, and I was asked repeatedly for a specific time, so I said as late as possible. They asked if I was planning on any specific activities to help them determine the time, such as going out shopping since they can hold my bags at the front desk. I'M AN ADULT IN A HOTEL, WHY DO YOU KEEP ASKING... I get the request, but it felt like probing. Anyway, I explained that I wanted to stay in my room as late as possible, and I knew checkout was at 12. Every other Hilton thanks me for my Diamond loyalty, which is nice and lets me know my request was considered with this in mind. But here it was not acknowledged and after all of that I was only given a checkout 1 hour later. SUMMARY I hope management reads this so improvements can be made. In the meantime, please AVOID AVOID AVOID until they can get their act together! It's a beautiful space just suffering from neglectful management, with so much room to improve easily. read more

I stay at this hotel often on business. I just want to thank the thoughtful staff that took care of me earlier this week. I'm recovering from a terrible stomach flu through the night, front desk staff and housekeeping checked in throughout, brought me ice, ginger ale, clean towels, I just can't thank you all enough. This hotel consistently makes me feel like I'm coming home to an apartment building versus a hotel, they treat you like family when you are a regular. It's clean, quiet, and breakfast is delicious. Great in every way. Easy to find. Quick walk to the brown and yellow line, slightly longer to red and blue line at Barclays but super easy to navigate. The food court in the nearby mall where the Trader Joe's is had amazing food. Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. We valeted our car with no problems. As others had said, lots of people in the breakfast area and it gets crowded but that's pretty much everywhere in New York. They did a good job restocking and keeping it clean despite all the people. read more

Finding a good hotel in Brooklyn is harder than you would think. I like the Hampton brand by Hilton. And for the most part, this property is fine. The room was clean and well furnished. There is no housekeeping these days so this cannot be judged. The front desk had some significant ups and downs. When we arrived, there were 4 people behind the desk but only one handling incoming guests. The others were literally goofing off. As a result it took forever to check in. There were some much more helpful people at the desk the next morning. The other highly variable experience was the breakfast. Some mornings it was well put together with standard but fine offerings. Other mornings, staff were not putting out food or condiments and guests were walking around wondering what was up. Some consistency would be helpful. read more

Great view of Manhattan from the top floors if you pick the right rooms. I will be staying here again for the hospitality alone. Every single one of the staffers here go above and beyond for the guests. They genuinely care about helping people. Everything you need is within a 10-15 minute walk (grocery, restaurants, subway, laundry service, gym). Hotel is exceptionally clean. As I sit here waiting in the lobby for my husband to get the car which is located in a garage, a couple of blocks away, I'm appreciating the awareness the hotel staff has for its customers. It's a busy Monday morning, and the hotel's lobby has been buzzing since the complimentary breakfast opened at 6 am. Breakfast is served between the hours of 6-10. The 4-hour window is more than enough time for guests to grab a bite to eat or drink. The view from the 21st floor is beautiful. I'd recommend staying high up because there is no other city view like New York. Our room was small, which is to be expected in New York City hotels, but it was also comfy and cozy. The restaurant, Ashland, is conveniently located on the lobby level. They serve lunch and dinner. The hotel also has a conference room located on the 23rd floor with a beautiful view of the city from all angles. If you are interested in hitting the gym, it's spacious and provides all your workout needs. The hotel offers a couple of complimentary bottles of water and cookies if you ask. Remember to grab your complimentary bag of snacks, in the morning, on your way out of the hotel, no matter if you're checking out or just leaving for the day. read more

Last minute stay for a job interview - Hilton Honors hotels are always my go-to. The rooms are generally clean, stylish and affordable. The location is very convenient and within walking distance to lots of area attractions. The staff was kind of cold and not very friendly, with the exception of Dustin, who was a very sweet and helpful young man. OK - here is why I gave them 3 stars...our curtains would not close! The street light shown in our windows all night as we were on the 2nd level. I had an interview in the morning and, unfortunately only got about 4 hours of sleep. I let the staff at the front desk know in the morning and they seemed unfazed. The breakfast was awesome though (that's where we met Dustin who saved our entire stay). Fresh fruit/yogurt smoothies and cold pressed juice in compostable cups with paper straws as part of the continental breakfast! Bravo. read more

If you want a Motel 6 experience at $200 a night then stay here. I had a blackout shade fall on my head while trying to close it. Maintenance came to fix it later in the day. The next morning, when attempting to open it, it fell on my head again. They charge a $25 resort fee daily which you can spend on restaurant and services. But with limited staff, they have no service in the restaurants shortened breakfast, dinner and drink hours at the bar and no lunch. No business room services either. Perhaps they should suspend the $25 mandatory fee until they are fully staffed? Gotta go and eat my eggs at the bar out of a paper box. Not sure why. Every restaurant in NY is using dishes and plates. Maybe they don't have a dishwasher on staff. On an up-note...the front desk clerk did say "sorry" after the blackout shade fell on me a second time. read more

Staff was great! *The CONS section below is targeted towards The Hilton Group's Corporate Office only, and not a comment of the staff on-site. Even though my CONS list is longer, I did enjoy my stay (hence the 4 stars). PROS: Free Wifi was strong the entirety of my stay. Daily breakfast/coffee available. Powerful showerhead (3 settings). Toiletries (body wash was perfect for washing away the sticky NYC humidity). Microwave (upon request). Customer service was great and very accommodating. Staff sported masks. Fridge. Extra security lock. Housekeeping staff was great. Welcome bag was cute but needs necessities instead. View was amazing (17th floor). CONS: Received stained linens and duvets 3 times. A lot of Unmasked customers. Same breakfast options rotated. No SmarTV, so during Hurricane Ida, it was down and wasn't Streaming Apps compatible (outdated). Subway was too far / unsafe. Stiff but large mattress. A/C unit was finicky. Rooms are not soundproof. Bar was closed. Corporate office needs to green light having laundry in-house and completely new linens. Sticky carpeted floor on Views/High Level rooms. CORPORATE SUGGESTIONS: Corporate/Management did not take the down time during the pandemic to steam/thoroughly clean each room's carpet and completely replace their mostly stained linens. My suggestion is to dump all unmasked patrons for breakfast outdoors and let the vaxxed/masked patrons enjoy breakfast indoors. read more

I decided to book a room for NYE. Surprisingly I managed to get a room for a reasonable price, considering it was a holiday. The check-in process was quick, and COVID safety measures were in place. My room was small, though I did not mind since I was there solo. I had a nice view of Flatbush Extention with the Manhattan Bridge not far. The room was clean, and I could tell that it had been cleaned and sanitized prior to my arrival. My room was equipped with a mini-fridge perfect for the bottle of Sparkling Rose that I purchased to bring in the New Year. My stay was quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. I've been to NYC too many times to count, but mostly when I was younger and splurged on the fancy hotels with all my activities focused on the hottest restaurant, bar or club. Never had the time to see the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, or gawd forbid take the subway. Fast forward a couple decades and I decided to return with my 2 kiddos in tow. I decided on Hampton Inn Brooklyn because of the free breakfasts, proximity to Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO, and convenience to the subway. It is also walking distance to Target (I always forget to pack something for the kids) and a swanky grocery store (wine for unwinding in the room). It was was perfect for us! The hotel staff are very kind and friendly and offered us free water bottles during the heat wave. My kids LOVED the free breakfast of fruit loops, eggs, waffles (this is vacation time, no judging)... just get there early cuz they are firm about service times. The have free Wi-Fi so the kids played on their gadgets while I caught up with work. They have a bar/restaurant onsite which was super handy when we returned from a day full of activities and were too tired to venture out to eat. We stayed over the July 4th holiday so at night we had sweet views of the fireworks... it was a far cry from the NYC I was used to in my 20's, but this was experience was a perfect way for my kiddos and I to end our NYC holiday. read more

I've stayed at this hotel twice and each time it has been exceptional! It is conveniently located next to a parking garage (which is a huge plus! $45 per day if you are wondering but worth the safety/security of your vehicle). It also has a beautiful bar attached along with a small but delicious menu. The rooms I have stayed in have always been clean, and although small, we have to remember this is in the heart of the city. Super close to the Brooklyn Bridge, and great place for Uber to pull over and pick you up. I also can't say enough positive things about the staff here, they are all so kind, and always greeting you. I would love to give a personal shout out to Ki, who is absolutely exceptional - she is a rare gem to find in this industry, keep her at all costs. She makes your hotel a better place to be. Really enjoyed my stay here. First I like that you can pick your room before you get there and get av virtual key eliminating a long tedious check in process. Second the views?? I was very surprised but the views were amazing. Also the hotel is in an extremely convenient location, it's downtown by everything in Brooklyn but then you're only two stops from Manhattan on the train or a ten minute drive to FIDI. Luka and Molly at the front desk were so nice and helpful. I also loved that despite the signs in the room that they only do room service every other day they actually do it everyday! Now to the cons, the rooms are small. If you need lots of space you might want to reconsider. I had a single room which was enough for me and my spouse but when we switched to a double room and had two family members join us it was very cramped. Barely enough floor area for three suitcases. Also Luis at the bar was not nice. He didn't seem like he wanted us at the bar which made us not want to be at the bar. Besides that amazing stay and will definitely be back. read more

I chose to stay here when I was visiting The Brooklyn Museum based in part on the Yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed. The bed was comfortable, and it was pretty quiet at night. There wasn't a bathtub (only a shower), but I didn't miss it. The mini-fridge was handy. They'll store your luggage after checkout if necessary. Friendly staff, clean room, affordable, safe neighborhood--even a view from my room on the 15th floor. The location was convenient. At various times over my three-day weekend stay, I walked to the subway station, across the Brooklyn Bridge, and to the Brooklyn Flea Market and Brooklyn Bridge Park. It's also not far (about a half-mile) from a market, a drug store, Trader Joe's, Starbucks, and other stores. read more

We had a late check-in and and we encountered the worst hotel stay experience! The room was cold, and wouldn't get any warmer! There was other peoples hair/DNA in the sheets, the wall by the headboard was dirty, and the refrigerator was left outside of the room on the floor! What a waste of $250 Dollars read more

I SO enjoyed my stay. It was a great hotel, clean with outstanding service. They had a nice coffee and tea bar 24-7, good space to read and do work, and while fruit out to snack on. The room was comfortable and clean. I really appreciated a little snack bag with waters when I arrived (I think it was because I'm part of Hilton honors). The location was super close to Metrotech which is where I had work. No restaurant there but there's lots of different places you can order from- make sure you have grubhub or similar. Grubhub offered discounts to some local places which was nice. The complimentary breakfast was insane good! I was shocked with all the choices: smoothies, flavored waffles, sausages, omelets, oatmeal, cold pressed juice, toast, cereal, fruit, and more! I was very pleased with my experience and have all different other Hilton hotel stays booked which I look forward to! Also, I remember the names Dustin and Amanda at the front desk because they were so welcome in and accommodating! I certainly recommend!!!! read more

1 begin by saying I am a Silver Hilton Member. This was our 2nd and last visit. The rooms are small, old and noisy. You hear the neighbor, continual sirens and street traffic. Do not check in online if you plan on using another credit card. They run the total at check in on your card. When asked if we could use another card we were told the total would not run until check out. At checkout they charged the 2nd card we desired as well as not removing the charge from our first card which was a debit card. The result - 3 NSF fees on our card. The evening front desk was condescending when we questioned why we were charged $150 above saying it was for extras we might charge. What extras? read more

I'm in love with this hotel! Absolutely lovely. It's only two stops into Brooklyn. On if in from Manhattan. So easy and convenient to navigate your way around and also to experience staying outside NYC. Tracy was a pleasure to check in with. Friendly, helpful and kind. Once checked in, on to my room. 1109 was assigned. Window facing north. King size bed, with a spacious bathroom. Glass shower, my all time favorite. Room itself is very spacious compared to other Hampton Inn's in Manhattan. The views are stunning! Overlooking Manhattan, you can see the Empire State Building, Chrysler building and off to your left you can see One World Trace Center! Room was quiet and no notice from neighbors were heard all night. Would recommend and definitely will stay here in the future. read more

The hotel was nice and clean. I worked an overnight and stayed here one night so I would not have to drive all the way home. I was exhausted and finally made it to the hotel at 5 am I hung up the do not disturb sign so I would not be bothered. At 1O am William ( front desk staff) knocks on my door to ask when I was checking out. I answered 12 o'clock check - out time. I managed to fall back asleep only to have William call my hotel phone to ask again when I was checking out. I could not go back to sleep after that. I'm super tired only to have to work another 12 hr shift. I hung up the DO NOT DISTURB sign for a reason! The streets noise was pretty loud so be prepared for this and no refrigerator in the rooms. read more

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights. Upon arrival, the lobby looked very clean and well maintained. The staff was very welcoming. We had a great laugh with them. Did not get their names but it was two gentlemen working at the front desk around 5 pm on Sunday 12/5. We also got complimentary waters, which was nice. Room: Our hotel room was nice and clean. We both each had two luggage and a carry-on with us so the hotel room was a bit cramped. There wasn't much room to walk around. There was a decent amount of storage space for clothes and there was also a wardrobe closet. The bathroom was very spacious and had everything we needed. The only problem was the sliding door to the bathroom could not latch shut and would always slide open a little on its own. Not a big problem for us but for others it might be. I did notice that the room was not soundproof either. I can hear everyone coming and going outside of the door. Sometimes it even sounds like someone is trying to get into our room but it's actually just them trying to get into theirs. We often would hear a lot of sirens. I would say at least twice every night. We came to find out that the fire department was two buildings away. Breakfast: The breakfast was good. Nothing out of the normal Hilton breakfast except the bagels. We were told the bagels came from a local bakery, so I thought that was nice. They were very good. Location: I think the hotel is in a great location. It is only a 10-minute walk to the subway stations, Target, Parks, and the walk to the Brooklyn Bridge is just down the street. It seems like schools are nearby so it can get busy in the morning with the commuters. My sister and I walked from the subway to the hotel at night and the area seemed safe-ish. There may be one or two sketchy people walking by but there are mostly other people just walking and trying to get to where they are going so it didn't seem like an unsafe area. I definitely recommend this hotel. Regardless of the issues I found, I still found this hotel to be worth the stay. read more

We came back as a little reprieve from Quarantine back in November. The staff was nice as ever, but the cleanliness was lacking. I wonder if I was more vigilant because of COVID, but I noticed hair wrapped up in one of the "clean" towels, as well as on the bed. Even by regular hotel standards that isn't okay, definitely not during a pandemic, and they advertise their cleanliness as a selling point. I hope they have addressed this issue, as my daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves the first time around. read more
