This hotel is pretty nice. They are in a good location in Brooklyn, just a couple short blocks from the subway. The front desk staff were so nice. One was nicer than the other. They were terrific. The buffet breakfast had a lot to choose from yet nothing was too good. I only drank the coffee which was OK. My daughter did not eat anything. There is a mini restaurant for dinner with a nice bar. The view from the top floor was spectacular. One night a company was holding their holiday party in the room next door to the top floor balcony. It looked festive and they had a bartender. The room was adequate and also pretty modern. I always ask for a quiet room away from the elevator. Well, this is New York and there are police cars and fire engines with sirens all the time. Still, it was a cozy place to stay. They offered bottled water and snacks because I am a Diamond member.

Stayed there for 4 nights during my visit to NYC this spring. Location is great: there are three big metro stations nearby, situated in downtown Brooklyn which had a great view of skyscrapers, not far from Brooklyn harbor where you can do running and other sports. The room was clean and not old. And I got my room cleaned every day--for the other Hampton Inns I stayed they always clean my room every two days. Other than the guest room, the gym was on the basement and not easy to find. But it had almost everything I needed. Breakfast was not bad either.

We stayed here during our Christmas trip to New York and the overall experience was good. The room was very small in comparison to west coast hotels but it was not as bas as we expected. The front desk stuff was nice and welcoming. Our only disappointment was breakfast because there were no healthy options. Fresh fruits were gone so quickly. And they close breakfast area evenly at 10am. The location was convenient; only fee minutes walk to the nearest subway station and Brooklyn bridge. Perhaps we may go with Hampton again next time.

I considered Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown for hotel stay because of its distance from DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), which had an event I had planned to attend while visiting Brooklyn. Along with that, I loved that it had a solid rating on Yelp of (4.1 out of 169 reviews), and its Expedia rating of (9.2/10 out of 1,399 reviews). It was those things that won me over and led me into booking a room with Hampton Inn. My experience with the friendly receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM; and check-out ends at 11:00 AM! Inside of my room, I took a liking to the design and interior which appeared so elegant. I could not take my eyes off the pictures on the wall which featured notable highlights within New York City. Inside the shower, there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Seems like hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. Moreover, I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable and sleeping in the lovely king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. To further assist with a restful evening, the television had Calm installed on it which is the #1 app for sleep and meditation. I look forward to utilizing Calm again during future stays at Hilton hotels. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; the soothing pressure of the water made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, an alarm clock, and a few lamps with electrical outlets built in. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. I found that it is easy to get lost within this well-maintained hotel known as Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown. I learned that instantly after my tour in search of the fitness center which gave me anxiety at the time. As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I was impressed to see the number of dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, trx straps, a decent selection of workout machines, and a peloton fitness bike which I am a huge fan of. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown sits not only within acceptable walking distance of a plethora of restaurants and businesses, but Brooklyn Paramount, Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan Bridge as well! I could not resist smiling seeing the Manhattan Bridge from a distance upon my arrival at Hampton Inn. And as for transit, MTA - Jay Street - MetroTech sits only .3 miles away from the hotel, which was my gateway to get to LaGuardia Airport. When visiting Brooklyn, I honestly would not look anywhere else for stay outside of Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown because my comfort needs were met as mentioned in this review. And I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of my interest in the borough of Brooklyn. Room: 4 | Service: 5 | Location: 5 ~Have courage. Be Kind. ~ Thomas G

This was a good hotel. It's a 5 min walk away from the subway and close to some delis. You can walk across the Manhattan Bridge from the hotel, and also to DUMBO. Room and cleanliness were ok. What made me go for 4 instead of 3 stars is the super friendly and helpful staff. They were all great!

Good hotel with spacious, clean rooms, but many blocks from a train station so not a great option if you are using the subway.

Thinking about heading down with my small family of 4 is it safe to walk to and from the metro line ? Also is there a flat rate for cabs?

So many things wrong with this hotel experience from start to finish:…read more 1) the number on the confirmation to call for questions did not work. 2) When I finally reached another Hilton employee on a general line and asked for suggestions as to where to park if the lot was full, she called this Hilton and got back on the line to say they told her "I'm not sure...drive around until you find a spot." 3) When we checked in and were handed our key cards we were told to take the elevator down to level C for our room. After walking all around with all of our heavy luggage we finally found our room, up on level 2. 4) When I got in the room there was a very loud buzzing (which turned out to be the mini-fridge), and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet by a few inches (uncomfortable and unsanitary, as your legs sit on the actual porcelain of the bowl). I went down to the front desk to tell them and the kid (literally, a kid) at the front desk told me "I'm not really sure what to do about that." 5) I asked to switch rooms and was told the hotel was full, but he would call and someone would be right up to help. I waited half an hour before calling down to the desk again and talking to a different person who told me the first person likely forgot, and said he would send someone within 5 minutes. About 10 minutes later I get a call to say "sorry, there is nothing we can do because maintenance does not work on weekends." 6) I asked if maybe a manager could help and was told there was no manager on duty (hmmmm....a completely booked hotel on a Friday night, and no manager on duty). 7) I was then told I should try pulling on the toilet seat to see if I could move it forward myself. I explained that it was bolted in, even if I could move it, it was too short, and if I am paying the money to stay at a Hilton, I don't expect to have to fix the toilet in my room myself. 8) Later when I went to take a shower I noticed dirt in the corners and then discovered that one of the handles was missing, and someone "fixed" it, by screwing a screw partly in. The idea was that you use the screw to turn the thing from side to side. 9) While I was in the shower all my toiletries fell into the sink. This is because the shelf above the sink was not screwed in properly and tilted forward (the amount of toiletries I had up there consisted of 3 small, light bottles, so not a weight issue). 10) The first morning we were woken up before 6 am by a mother letting her toddler run up and down the hall while she called to the child and laughed hysterically. 11) on the second night we were woken up just before 1 am by extremely loud music coming from the patio. After about 10 minutes I called the front desk and the phone was answered immediately (meaning the person was right there). This is important to know because the patio is right next to the front desk and they did nothing about the noise until someone called downstairs to complain. Even then, they just turned it down rather than off. All this, despite signs saying that after 10 pm was quiet time. The only things that were good about the stay was the air conditioning and a comfortable bed (comfortable once you were in it...it was so close to the wall on one side that you had to be careful standing up).

He didn't tell me what room I was in. He just wrote it on the key card. O_O. Grade A customer service. Ok. Cool. There are taped up print outs about noise, a smoking fee you'll be charged X amount if they catch you... PEOPLE ARE ABSOLUTELY SMOKING IN THIS PLACE. They may rather you not but that fee ain't stoppin nobody. (Someone randomly walked down the hall last night spraying spray to rid the smell -- it didn't.)
