I booked this location for a quick NYC trip because I always like to stay somewhere that keeps me close to transportation, great food, and fun things to do and this spot checked all the boxes. It was also perfectly located just a short walk from my Pilates studio, which made sticking to my routine while traveling super easy. On top of that, there were plenty of coffee shops and local restaurants nearby, so I never had to go far for a good bite or my morning coffee. Being a Hilton Honors member made check-in a breeze, and I was even gifted complimentary water upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room itself was clean, cozy, and perfect for a short stay. The view from my window was amazing especially at night and I loved how quiet it was, making it easy to fully relax after long days out. They also have great amenities like a gym and a breakfast buffet every morning. The waffle machines, fresh fruit, and coffee were definitely highlights and a great way to start each day. This is a long overdue review! My fiancé and I stayed here for about a week in October. Shout out to Kat at the front desk for welcoming us at check-in and making us feel right at home throughout our stay! She was great! My main concern when looking for a hotel in NY/Brooklyn was having a microwave and fridge, and thankfully our room had both. I was also told you can request them if your room doesn't already have them. We stayed in a room with a window facing an extremely busy intersection, with honking going on all day and into the night, but thankfully, the windows were thick enough to block out most of the noise. The AC sound also helped drown it out. The room and restroom also felt spacious for what you get in NY. There was daily breakfast, which was your typical hotel breakfast with a variety of options that changed daily. It's about a one-mile walk to get to DUMBO, which wasn't bad at all, even when we had to do it in the rain. The subway is about a 10 minute walk, and there are two corner stores down the street. Honestly not a bad location! Just be careful when crossing that crazy busy intersection! I would stay here again! read more

Hats off to the hotel staff for their great personalized communication before, during and after my stay. I felt like I wasn't just another guest, or another tourist guest. They emailed be before my stay to check in. They helped with any issues we had at check in smoothly. Everything was great. The staff always acknowledge our presence. At one point we needed another blanket, I normally get cold in any hotel I am in. They delivered that in a great amount of time. This really is a great location. It is about a 16-20 minute walk to the water area. I felt pretty safe at the hotel and the surrounding area. It is easy for ubers, taxis and ride share services to pick up and drop off. The room was comfortable for both my friend and I. There were two beds in our room which is exactly the type of room we booked. We did have issues with the AC. I am hoping they repaired it and looked into it after we left. It was warm in the room for s little, but by the time it was getting late it cooled down and I slept comfortably. Opening the window was not going to be an option. I would not sleep well to the ASMR sounds of NYC in real life. HEHE. They were helpful though. The staff at this hotel are super kind and truly genuine humans. Whoever does the hiring has a gift. Every single interaction we had with the staff was above and beyond. I wish I could remember all of their names but I do remember Ki-- a gem of a lady. There was also a very nice tall gentleman who helped my 82 yo mom with her bags-- she said he made her feel so safe and comfortable. Huge thank you! The room was comfortable and clean. The parking garage next door seemed very secure as well. I personally find NYC to be a stressful place to visit-- the hotel was an escape from that frenetic energy. read more

This hotel is pretty nice. They are in a good location in Brooklyn, just a couple short blocks from the subway. The front desk staff were so nice. One was nicer than the other. They were terrific. The buffet breakfast had a lot to choose from yet nothing was too good. I only drank the coffee which was OK. My daughter did not eat anything. There is a mini restaurant for dinner with a nice bar. The view from the top floor was spectacular. One night a company was holding their holiday party in the room next door to the top floor balcony. It looked festive and they had a bartender. The room was adequate and also pretty modern. I always ask for a quiet room away from the elevator. Well, this is New York and there are police cars and fire engines with sirens all the time. Stayed there for 4 nights during my visit to NYC this spring. Location is great: there are three big metro stations nearby, situated in downtown Brooklyn which had a great view of skyscrapers, not far from Brooklyn harbor where you can do running and other sports. The room was clean and not old. And I got my room cleaned every day--for the other Hampton Inns I stayed they always clean my room every two days. Other than the guest room, the gym was on the basement and not easy to find. But it had almost everything I needed. Breakfast was not bad either. read more

We stayed here during our Christmas trip to New York and the overall experience was good. The room was very small in comparison to west coast hotels but it was not as bas as we expected. The front desk stuff was nice and welcoming. Our only disappointment was breakfast because there were no healthy options. Fresh fruits were gone so quickly. And they close breakfast area evenly at 10am. The location was convenient; only fee minutes walk to the nearest subway station and Brooklyn bridge. I considered Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown for hotel stay because of its distance from DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), which had an event I had planned to attend while visiting Brooklyn. Along with that, I loved that it had a solid rating on Yelp of (4.1 out of 169 reviews), and its Expedia rating of (9.2/10 out of 1,399 reviews). It was those things that won me over and led me into booking a room with Hampton Inn. My experience with the friendly receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM; and check-out ends at 11:00 AM! Inside of my room, I took a liking to the design and interior which appeared so elegant. I could not take my eyes off the pictures on the wall which featured notable highlights within New York City. Inside the shower, there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Seems like hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. Moreover, I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable and sleeping in the lovely king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. To further assist with a restful evening, the television had Calm installed on it which is the #1 app for sleep and meditation. I look forward to utilizing Calm again during future stays at Hilton hotels. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; the soothing pressure of the water made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, an alarm clock, and a few lamps with electrical outlets built in. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. I found that it is easy to get lost within this well-maintained hotel known as Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown. I learned that instantly after my tour in search of the fitness center which gave me anxiety at the time. As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I was impressed to see the number of dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, trx straps, a decent selection of workout machines, and a peloton fitness bike which I am a huge fan of. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown sits not only within acceptable walking distance of a plethora of restaurants and businesses, but Brooklyn Paramount, Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan Bridge as well! I could not resist smiling seeing the Manhattan Bridge from a distance upon my arrival at Hampton Inn. And as for transit, MTA - Jay Street - MetroTech sits only .3 miles away from the hotel, which was my gateway to get to LaGuardia Airport. When visiting Brooklyn, I honestly would not look anywhere else for stay outside of Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown because my comfort needs were met as mentioned in this review. This hotel has the absolute best customer service across the board. The front desk staff was very welcoming and accommodated my specific requests. The beds are very comfortable. There is no smoking inside and the entire hotel is impeccably clean. It's not a "Vegas smoke free room". It is an actual smoke free room. For those of us with allergies this is an important distinction. It's a great location because you are close to the subway and the BQE which will take you straight into Manhattan. The hotel contains an in house restaurant / bar. I did not dine here so I can not comment on the cuisine. I had a lovely glass of wine. The bartender was attentive and delightful. They exceeded all expectations I had and I was pretty overwhelmed by the travel process into a big city- we got there late at 10pm the check in with Romeo was so smooth he helped walk me through the valet process that made it so much easier to park for a couple days - AND we got to leave it later on check out day so we got 2 full days of parking for the price even hours after we had checked out. Pretty good for a work stay! All the hotels that I usually try to snag a spot at in FiDi were sold out or astronomically expensive; the next best option was this Hampton Inn. (They're a part of the Hilton family so make sure to download the Hilton app, that way you can skip the check-in line, pick your room ahead of time, and get a digital key on your phone to use.) Room is on the small side but I liked the desk/chair set-up and everything was pretty spanking clean. Shower didn't look the newest but otherwise no complaints in terms of necessities. Bed and pillow were fine, a tad on the softer side for my own preference. They offer daily happy hour with drinks and snacks, as well as free breakfast. Pretty convenient location, good access to subway and the path that gets you to the Brooklyn Bridge. Lots of food options in nearby Metrotech and the mall, which has a Trader Joe's. For $335.01 one night this stay was barely average. Service at the counter was friendly, and breakfast buffet was standard what you would expect for a complimentary continental breakfast. The location is great for downtown Brooklyn, with a lot of walkable restaurants and shops, and within a mile of the Navy Yard. The room itself was okay except for 3 main issues. 1, the room was supposed to be non-smoking but reeked of smoke. 2, the curtain was broken so sunlight started creeping in at 6 AM which clearly sucks when you're on vacation, 3 - the mini fridge was not functional so everything we stored in there was warm. Unfortunately we did not notice the curtains nor mini fridge issue until it was time to sleep, and wasn't something we wanted to deal with in the middle of the night. I would recommend this hotel for its location, and maybe we just got unlucky with the rooms but eek, what a shoddy experience. read more

First off, I want to say that the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. And, our room was clean (except for the floor) and comfortable. But the rest of the hotel was not clean. I understand they were having some renovations done but it only takes a few minutes to sweep or vacuum the floors and wipe down surfaces. It also appeared that some of the people coming in to get free coffee and breakfast were not hotel guests. Some of them were quite loud. The food itself was your basic breakfast ... no complaints. The staff did not wear uniforms or name tags always. So, it could be difficult to know if someone was staff or not. At one point, we went to the front desk for something and there was no one there. We waited for a time and then just left. There were customers waiting to check-in and they didn't know what to do. Also be aware that this is a pet friendly hotel. There were a lot of dogs. For us, that was not a problem. But if you don't like animals it is not the hotel for you. Overall, it was a disappointing stay for a Hampton Inn. read more

When my Dad came to visit he stayed at this location. Very convenient from the bridge but the location is on active corner to get on the highway so getting out your car can be a rush of honking and aggravated drivers with no patients. We had drinks and appetizers at your bar. The meatballs were surprising delicious. The bartender behind the bar had attitude for days. The interactions with the table felt like he was annoyed. Bar was not full at all but it took him forever to make our drinks. His energy was just off and it was shown on his presentation every time we ordered something else. So wasn't feeling the hospitality. The rooms on the top floor with balcony facing the city are so nice. read more

Big fan of this Hampton Inn for the fantastic shower, a window that opens, free hot good breakfast, snug hotel bar and the super friendly staff. No New York brush off here! Free fast WiFi also, I was streaming a game no problem. Plenty of outlets in the room for all your devices too. Subway entrances are 3-5 blocks away, convenient if not close. The rooms are small (obvs) and I felt like our king bed was not quite as comfortable as in other Hamptons. Not a fan of the in-room refrigerator that rumbles all night. The breakfast room was a chaotic scrum lol, everyone stayed calm and carried on with the waffle machine. Parking is guaranteed but not discounted at a garage immediately next door, about $45 for 24 hrs. Look for the statues of Lady Brooklyn and Lady Manhattan on a pedestal right out the hotel's front door, they rotate all day and are lit up at night. read more

The hotel is conveniently located and was clean and fairly modern. The room was on the smaller side but I guess about for a big city. The room was clean, things worked, no bugs and we didn't have any issues. In fact their shower felt more like a pressure wash. The breakfast buffet was good overall for a "free" breakfast. I didn't interact with the staff and checked in via the app, but they seemed cordial and available.... The bed was a little lumpy in different areas but I slept well overall, maybe due to all the walking around in NYC. I chose a room on th3 third floor facing the main road and since that is road crossing the Manhattan bridge, traffic was always heavy and you don't hear the fairly consistent honking of cars. The hotel is in the revitalized downtown Brooklyn about 4 blocks from the Dekalb subway station. Jay St Metrotech is in the vicinity as well. So a good amount of access to different subway lines. Of coarse during rush hour, foot traffic in the subway stations is light so that's something to be aware of, you tend to always have to be aware of your surroundings anytime you ride the subway. Very close to lower Manhattan and the heart of downtown Brooklyn. Walking around the area at night felt largely safe, of coarse there is an occasional shady looking character. The police station is on the next block so you do see uniformed police in the area. Overall downtown Brooklyn has significantly improved overall with all the luxury housing, it's a different overall vibe.... And for that I think this is fairly good choice for a hotel in Brooklyn... read more

I am so happy I found this hotel. The rooms are more spacious than other NY hotels I've stayed at. And they have hot breakfast every day. And your choice of coffee or tea throughout the day. All the rooms have a fridge and ours didn't want to work. The staff was so helpful and brought us a fridge that worked really well. And when I asked for a microwave, they were quick to bring one in. Would have given the hotel 5 stars however the location was a problem for us. My daughter & I visited Brooklyn for a graduation & promotion celebration and unfortunately the location is not close to anything. A taxi ride into Manhattan was $50 and within Brooklyn it was $25. Also the exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working and the tiny room would fill up with steam from the shower. We did report this but was told "it wasn't fixable". Any more than 2 people in the room would be really cramped. No room for luggage. Over all the hotel was wonderful except the exhaust fan and for us the location didn't work. read more

I was recently a guest at the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown, and I must say it was a pretty good experience from start to finish. You do have the choice of requesting whatever you need from the front desk as housekeeping does not come daily. A housekeeper brought me towels one day and a couple fell on the carpet in the hall as she was handing them to me. Instead of taking back the towels, she picked them up and handed them to me. I was in a rush so I took them, but did not use them. There was also a clear (dry) substance that had spilled on the floor in the room I was assigned...maybe clear nail polish? I tried to clean it up myself thinking it was a stain, but the mess remained on the flooring. It was a little unsightly, but overall did not affect my stay. Another housekeeping issue that bothered me was that the neighboring room's occupants left takeout boxes and trash in the hall outside their door that stayed there for two consecutive days. Despite housekeeping having their trolley in the hall everyday, no one saw fit to remove the trash bags and pizza boxes that somehow kept migrating toward my room door. In all fairness, I never complained about these inconveniences, but I know if I had, the front desk staff would have done their best to rectify the situations. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to nearby restaurants, shopping, and the bridge. This made exploring the area and finding dining options a breeze. One of the main reasons for my visit was attending an event at the nearby Theater at City Tech Center, and the hotel's proximity to this venue made my stay even more convenient. In summary, my stay at the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown exceeded my expectations, with just a few minor issues. Beds were comfortable, & the pillows were like marshmallows. The water pressure & temperature was good (we were on the 17th & 20th floors). Their free hot breakfast was hearty - fueled me & 2 teen boys for long days of walking around NYC. The boys enjoyed the gym. They said it was clean & were provided with earbuds to listen to the TV while working out. Staff was professional & courteous. Checking in & checking out was a breeze especially if you have the Hilton Honors app. My only issue was that floor in the shower floor was slippery because of the soap. There is a grab bar in the shower, so I just held onto that. I'm sure if I had housekeeping come in everyday, it wouldn't have been a problem. If you decide to stay at this hotel, make sure to check out Botte restaurant. It's about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. read more

Loved this Hampton! Easy pickup for Ubers, convenient to Commodore Park if you're ever attending an event there which we were. There was a concert and we simply walked the 3 brisk blocks to get there. There's also a cute little patio restaurant that had great service attached that was open late after the concert at the park, which was cool. Its also about a 10 minute Uber to the lower east side of Manhattan and about 25 minutes to Harlem. It's definitely a bit more posh than the typical Hampton Inn's I've stayed at. But I suppose they needed to have that NYC look and feel. Overall a good stay - rooms considerably quiet. We stayed on the 2nd floor so you can hear some outside traffic (horn honking and such), so if you're sensitive to noise, a higher floor may suit you. Enjoy!! read more

Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown - Nice lobby area - Hotels Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

If you'd told me when I moved to Brooklyn in the mid-90's that there would be a hotel at the corner of Flatbush and Tillary, I would have told you to get your head examined! But when looking for a Hilton brand property to stay downtown the night before the Brooklyn Half Marathon, this popped up so I thought I'd try it. The place looks fairly new and it's almost right at the food of the Manhattan Bridge, so depending on which way your room faces, you can get some great views. My room was tiny but the window framed a gorgeous view of One World Trade. Check in was quick, although the guy checking me in didn't make eye contact and said just the bare minimum number of words to complete the transaction. The room was comfortable and you could make it really dark, which I like. It was also quieter than I would have expected. Everything was clean. Only two little issues: The elevators are slow as heck and they don't have a separate service elevator. Nearly every time I got on the elevator, I had a cleaning or supply cart with me and it made it cramped. The other thing was that I asked for a late check out 12:30-12:45) just so I could shower and change after running 13.1 miles. I had the "do not disturb" sign and had cleared the late checkout with the desk and the housekeeping lady knocked on my door FIVE separate times to ask if I was done. Maybe she just wanted to see me in my towel (although I can't imagine why), I don't know but you'd think after the third time, she'd understand that if she'd stop interrupting me, I could finish getting dressed. So annoying! The location is a bit remote but actually very easy to get to from DeKalb Ave subway (closest) or Jay St/Metrotech subway. Even walking to it after 11:00 pm I felt safe. There are a few restaurants and bars nearby and lots of lunch options at Metrotech. Also, if you want to go into Manhattan, you're right at the Manhattan Bridge so it would be an easy drive (or nice walk) right into Chinatown. I think this is a fine place. read more

The staff here was amazing. I called the hotel a week before my stay to inquire about availability of a high floor room, preferably with a view. I was told there was very limited availability on rooms with a view, but was assured they would make every effort to get me one. Man did they deliver! I was given a room with great views of Manhattan skyline. I was always greeted with a smile by the very welcoming staff and periodically asked "is there anything you need?" I would recommend this hotel (even if you are unable to get a room with a great view.) It's a great location, convenient to several Brooklyn neighborhoods and a short subway ride to Manhattan. read more
