The jacuzzi didn't work :-(
Steve R.

I like to sleep in, but I couldn't get out of this hotel fast enough... I just had an uneasy feeling all night! This was an overnight stop for us on the way through the Cincinnati area, we booked our room on the way and arrived after dinner. The area it's in looks like it's in the middle of a revitalization, you have newer outdoor shopping and restaurants across the street but the boarded up Cincinnati Mall right behind it. The hotel itself felt like it wasn't originally a Hilton/Hampton Inn, if gave more of a Hotel 6 vibe. We checked in with Vinny who was nice, got us our waters and asked if we had any questions. Our room online seemed like it was showing it as a smoking room so we ensured the entire property was non-smoking. He assured us it was, we are fairly certain it wasn't always... We arrived to the room (Rm: 101) and got smacked in the face by a musty, moldy, smokey odor. Despite the AC being set at 60, it was damp in the room, my wife even commented that the carpets felt wet. We figured we would try to bear it for the night. The room we booked was selected because it offered the jacuzzi tub, we figured it would be good after all the driving. Unfortunately, the tub had no power so no luck there... I returned to the front desk and asked if there was a trick to it. Vinny said "no" and immediately offered to change our room, I told.him that wouldn't work since she was already in the tub and he instead dropped our rate, which we appreciated. The bed and linens seemed clean, but the room overall needed a remodel. There was artwork pulled off the wall, the AC was separated from its mounting, the microwave was slanted and there was some mold spots in the bathroom. In general there was a lot of scrapes and dings on the furniture and walls and some rust around the tub and jacuzzi. We packed up as quickly as we could but my wife had to leave with her hair wet because the hair dryer was broken too. The front desk clerk asked how our stay was and seemed genuinely confused when we said it wasn't good. Not sure how, online reviews echo a lot of what we experienced and if we had read them and not just trusted the Hilton/Hampton Inn brand, we probably would have stayed elsewhere. It only got 2 stars because Vinny was nice and tried to help and because I have actually seen worse than this.

No no no! Please read reviews before staying here! We couldn't leave fast enough. When I went to finish my mobile check in process I went to select my room and the front page said the room was smoking. Second page stated non smoking. When we arrived the front desk agent said all rooms are non smoking. Fine. Selected an upgraded room for our stay with a jacuzzi tub. We have been traveling from New Jersey to Tennessee and now back up to Kentucky with a final stop here in Ohio before heading back to New Jersey. Our bodies needed a tub to relax. Tub is broken. Already unpacked and settled in we didn't want to change rooms. But they did however discount the room. Room smelled like wet towels that have been sitting in the dryer that didn't dry fully. Also smelled like a previous smoking room. Room was in rough condition. Bed was hard. Sheets were clean and no signs of bed bugs. So we sucked it up for one night. There was mold or mildew in the bathroom on the ceiling. The bathroom mirror was still steamed after 45 minutes. Showered even with the door open. Ventilation needs to be addressed. Carpet felt like there was film on it. The general area is all closed up and run down. Tv was big but kept changing from bright to dark. Furniture it's all busted up. Not at all what I expect when I stay at these properties.

Peep hole removed 3rd floor room 304
Annie H.

Room was defaced several times through out day. Our peep hole was soaped out. Several other rooms had same issue. Manger was uncooperative and actually sighed when I asked to get our door cleaned up. Hall was a mess. Food in floor and one room actually had peep hole pulled out of door of one room door

Is there a Hot tub in good working order by the pool area?

Yes, very nice hot tub. Good size, we visited it both days.

Not only did they put up with our odd request and happily hand out the welcome bags we assembled for all of our guests, they added their own note and a few pieces of candy to each bag.

I've stayed in much worse…read more There were many positives and although there were multiple negatives they really weren't a big deal. Just kind of comical. The pros: Plenty of close parking. Lots of decent restaurant options nearby. Check-in was fast and friendly. Wifi worked. They had biscuits and gravy as well as a waffle maker for breakfast. The bed was comfortable. The room appeared clean. Water pressure and temperature was good. The price was reasonable. These are the things most important to me, so our stay was fine. The cons: Keep your window shade drawn. In the rear is a forested area. So much trash on the ground and hanging in the trees. Yikes! The safe was locked and could not be opened. Not an issue since we didn't need to use it. The toilet seat was clean but in really rough shape. The chair needed reupholstered. The only egregious issue was that they had attached these heavy duty side tables on either side of the bed. I think the weight of them must have caused them to tilt so that if you put anything on them (a book, keys, glasses, a cup of water) it would slide right off. They looked nice but were completely unusable.

The room stunk. We got a handicapped room, not by request. We had to lift our 6 yr old onto the…read moretoilet. The shower was lukewarm and the pool was frigid. The entry alcove was filthy. It had dried leaves inside but the outside had no leaves. I will NEVER stay here again.

What a great hotel! Everything associated with this stay was simple and wonderful…read more It was easy to make the reservation online. You can choose to prepay and get a slightly lower rate or make the reservation and pay on arrival. If you have a free Drury Rewards account, you also get a slightly lower rate. The hotel is easy to find and basically right off of the highway. There is ample parking and the lot was well maintained. Check in was quick and easy. Even though we prepaid, they still ran a card for the $50 deposit. The hold on mine was released about 12 hours after checkout. The front desk associate was incredibly friendly and helpful. we were even upgraded to a suite! One of the things I love about Drury are the meals. The evening reception the night we were there had pulled pork, coleslaw, hot dogs, baked beans and salad. You could also get unlimited pop and three alcoholic drinks. Staff was very attentive in keeping food full and the area clean. Our room was large and spotless. When we entered, there was a chair, pul out couch, tables and a tv. the center hallway had a counter with drawers, a sink and the microwave and fridge. The bathroom had a spacious shower with pumps of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I was impressed with how comfortable the beds were! We had forgotten toothpaste and the front desk was able to give us a small tube free of charge. The pool area was clean and well maintained, but fairly small. Overall, a wonderful stay and definitely a hotel I would stay at again.

We were attending a convention in Sharonville and were happy to see a Drury nearby. They are…read moretypically our go to since they have complementary breakfast and happy hour and popcorn. This location is a little bit different than others that I've stayed at. We booked a room with 2 Queen beds. Please read this entire review in order to be completely fair to this location. First the not so good: Our room was not 100% clean upon check in. We arrived late and so by the time we got unsettled I'm ready to call into bed, we realized one of the comforters had a blood stain on it. We were told that housekeeping leaves in the afternoon and so they couldn't provide us with a clean comforter. Next, this is the first Drury Inn we have stayed at that stopped popcorn by 8 PM. Every other one has had it going till at least 10 PM. Families like to have movie night and/or grab a bag after playing in the pool or relaxing in the hot tub, this location promptly stops at 8. If they have any extra popcorn, they do bag it and place it on the counter but they go quickly. Typically, I bring microwave popcorn to hotels but I can always count on Drury until this stay. Next, cabinets in the dining area are pretty filthy. I think this is just more of an attention to detail that I notice. Last bad experience: the exit doors kept getting propped open by contractors reserving meeting spaces. In our short three night stay, I can count on both hands how many times I removed stones from the doors. Lastly, the coffee station is in an incredibly awkward spot. I would venture to say most people reserving rooms are adults and they like their coffee. The station is awkwardly set in the middle corner of the breakfast area which creates a traffic jam in the morning mornings. Give yourself extra time. Now onto the good...no GREAT: Armani was at the front desk when we reported the dirty comforter. She handled it with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. I could tell she really felt bad for the experience and wanted to make it right. Next the food area is kept well cleaned and they have a great variety of food. I love that they offer real half-and-half for creamer. Next, when we reported the stones in the doors, management did a perimeter check and ensure that the contractors renting the meeting space were instructed not to do it again. When they ended up doing it again, they actually discontinued the contract and blacklisted them so that they're not able to come back again and rent the space. I love that security is important to management, too! Back to the popcorn. There were some rowdy kids in the pool one evening when a few of us were soaking in the hot tub. A staff member came in and without saying much could understand that a couple of the people were very uncomfortable with the level of noise of the kids. The parents sat outside while the kids were rambunctious inside. She actually went over and kindly told them that they had to be with their children because they were all under age. She brought peace to the experience which was a really nice way to end the day. Next, I really liked one of the speakers at the convention And so I ordered a book to be delivered to the hotel. I put my room number on the Amazon order assuming that it would be left there or that they would notify me when it was delivered. It was probably my fault for not going and checking but we were so busy with the convention I'm nearly forgot and left the book behind. I called the hotel and not only did they find the package but, and I don't think that would happen for everybody but I'm sure thankful it happened for me, a manager was willing to return the package to a UPS store for me. He texted me and I was able to give him the return shipping label. Talk about outstanding service! This specific individual was Andrew and he deserves all the props for making this such a solid experience for me. He didn't have to do that and quite frankly I didn't expect him to. This was definitely above and beyond my expectations! Back to the popcorn, an employee Was kind enough to hold bags for us on the last night so that when we came back late from our convention, we were able to enjoy some popcorn. I really appreciated this gesture because you know it was important to us as guests. Also, we were Pleased with how they dealt with the soiled comforter. They offered to change rooms but when it was so late, and I was rather upset, they gave us a discount on other two nights. That was greatly appreciated and handled the right way. I can't imagine the employee who left the bloody comforter will ever do that again. Next really nice thing, the Jim: we had some equipment malfunctions early on this day but they were fixed quickly by a technician and we were able to use the gym daily. I really appreciate how fast they tried to make that right. Even though a lot of things went wrong, this Drury location exemplified how to make things right when things go wrong. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

When my wife entered the room for the first time later in the day, she had the exact same reaction without any prompting: initially positive, then negative. The bathroom floors had old stains; the side of the TV stand had dark, dried-on droplets; the caulking around the shower had mold; dust on the air vent; the border around the closet door was separating; and what looked like dried blood was stained on the carpet next to the couch. The sliding bathroom doors are designed in such a way that they don't fully close, leaving a 2 inch opening at all times. And although the frosted glass doors leading to the bathroom look nice, it means that if you or your partner uses the bathroom while someone is sleeping, the bathroom light will illuminate the bedroom area. The rooms need better care and attention. And while it may be easy to blame the cleaning staff for some of these issues, from what I could see of them working they were working diligently. More staff may be needed in conjunction with more investment into updating the rooms themselves. It was the first hotel I'd stayed at where I didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot.
