The price is right but housekeeping and repair could improve. Fulfillment of rewards programs is also not good. This was the least expensive of the second tier hotels. There are no top tier hotels in Crossville, by the way. When you drive up or drive by you see the water stains on the building and the need for a paint refresh. It gives you a clue as to how the hotel is being maintained. When you step inside it smells like mildew and cleaners. However it looks good. That continues until you enter the elevators, hallway and rooms. Those show wear and poor repairs. Tattered carpet squares rubbed wallpaper and moldy grouted tubs. The removal and repair of wall damage covered by paint that isn't quite smooth and doesn't quite match lets you know why the price is where it is. Again the daily housekeeping looks otherwise good. The only caveat is smell. You can always smell the last few occupants. Please clean carpets and curtains more often. That's all I'm saying. Finally. I registered for the $50 card promo. When I called because I didn't receive it, customer service just says they sent it and it shows delivered. However they could not provide a tracking number or date. I have USPS informed delivery so I can see my mail images and I don't show it. Of course they can't cancel and resend it either. Disappointed. Back to Hampton. read more

We stay at lots of Hampton Inns. Bed here was not usual Hampton Bed. Should have been replaced a year or two ago. It's older because there are not enough outlets. Had to unplug a clock by the bed in order to plug in my Cpap. Bathroom was clean and nice. Hallway carpet is looking dated and has multiple stains. Could be from all the dogs. Lots of dogs there the 2 nights we stayed. Didn't eat breakfast but did grab an apple and they looked old and bruised. read more

I found it very irritating that breakfast is from.I believe 6 to 10. At 8:30 came to eat. Friday morning no meat or eggs. A scoop of potatoes left. Coffee dark roast empty. Saturday morning 7:57 am bacon is gone. No effort to make anymore and 3 hours till checkout. People asking if there is any more. No... half and half container empty, dark roast coffee almost gone. Typical Hampton Inn, clean, quiet well maintained hotel. I am a Hilton Honors member, reservation was made via Hilton app, check in and check out were a breeze. Bed was a little hard and the pillows were too soft. Free internet connection was great, I had no issues using both iPad and MacBook. Breakfast was ok, potatoes and fresh fruit were good, wish bacon or sausage were available, I doo not eat eggs and was not in the mood for a waffle, coffee was meh, stopped at Pilot on next exit off highway for my morning cup of joe. Oatmeal had been sitting too long, cereal and yogurt was also available. I will not hesitate to stop by this Hampton Inn if I am ever kn the area again. read more

We had one of our best hotel experiences ever at the pet-friendly Hampton Inn Crossville, mostly because of GM Misty and the staff. We arrived with our Lab and towing a 12-foot UHaul, exhausted mentally and physically after closing on our home in South Carolina. Our pickup was so overstuffed, we couldn't close the tonneau cover, so, for security's sake, they let us park it under the covered drive-through by the hotel entrance. Beyond the very clean room with great beds, there was the included breakfast that was filled with healthy options and several kinds of coffee/tea. We've moved from South Carolina to STL, but when we return to visit South Carolina, you can be sure that we'll be staying at the Hampton Inn Crossville. We checked in and upon entering the room saw it was pretty dirty. Not like roaches crawling on the floor dirty, but dirty. It is the only room Ive ever checked in to and saw finger prints in dust on the dresser. I mean just covered with dust. There was also food stains on the desk and a stain on the blanket on the bed. I was not looking for something but all were visible within 30 seconds of being in the room. Any maid could have easily seen all of this just as easily as we did. We got moved and the second room we checked into was not much better. We pulled down the sheet and saw a handful of black hair on the fitted sheet. The ladies at the front desk were nice but the housekeepers could have done a much better job. read more

I went here after being denied my hotel room AND a refund from the neighboring Super 8 because I had pets (they clearly stated that pets were allowed in the description) so I headed over here and they were more than happy to accomodate me. The $50 pet fee was pretty reasonable as well. The best part about Hampton Inn is that you can never go wrong with their breakfast not to mention fairly clean rooms. read more

I'm always having to dig around the room looking for freaking electrical outlets to charge my phones (personal and work) and then have to sometimes walk across the room to turn of alarms or put them in the path to the bathroom (almost stepping on it). This just makes sense! ** Fridge AND Microwave Unlike a lot of Marriott Courtyards, Hampton Inn usually have fridges AND microwaves. Because I'm a Marriott Gold member now, they'll actually wheel in temporary tiny fridges into my rooms, but they're clearly afterthoughts. At Hampton Inns, they're permanent fixtures in the room, and I love them for it! ** High Ceilings Also typical of Hampton Inns, it just gives the room a more roomy and less claustrophobic feeling. ** Laptop table for using laptop in bed. While I'm not usually one for laptopping in bed, it's just nice that they give you that. You don't have to worry about the heat from the laptop burning your nuts off, and it's elevated too! CONS ** Chair Is Unstable The chair for the desk is this nice comfy leather chair with wheels, but I don't know if it's because the chair is bad or the carpet is too soft (which seems to me about par for the course for a hotel), but the chair doesn't want to roll if you're sitting in it like most office chairs. And even though it does have 5 legs/wheels, if you try to scoot forward, the back wheels will come up and try to tip you over! Be careful! OTHER COMMENTS I've always liked Hampton Inns, but since all the Hilton brand hotels are a little higher class, they're not as available as a Marriott, and that's why I made the decision in 2006 to book Marriott wherever possible to pool all my rewards. Marriott has Fairfield Inn (which is kinda ghetto) and Courtyard that are cheap so they're in all sorts of Bufu places...surprisingly not in Crossville though. Hampton Inn is probably in the price class of Courtyard, but has better amenities, and quality of rooms about the level of the standard Marriott brand (which is above Courtyard). So far, the last 2 Hilton brands I've stayed at, I've really appreciated the amenities...if only they were as prevalent as Marriott...oh well! read more

Here's an update to my previous 2 star review. My husband talked to the desk clerk about the issues we had with our rooms the previous night (construction zone). The clerk expressed his apologies and refunded the charges for both rooms (we were checking out that morning). We were completely satisfied with this solution. I am very pleased with Hampton Inn's quick response. The cleanliness, comfort of the room and hot breakfast at Hampton can't be beat and we will stay here again the next time we come to Crossville. By the way, the little lady in charge of breakfast was very sweet and friendly -- her service stood out. read more

I'm a Hilton Honors member so reservation and check-in were a breeze. I was impressed by the apparent concern for cleanliness throughout the hotel. Room doors are "sealed" to show how clean they are and unused. Our room was nice and appeared clean. My complaint, behind the curtain on the window sill was a used hypodermic needle. Just sitting there...waiting for a curious child to pick it up. We have no little kids but obviously this could've been a horror for a different family... Maybe I'm over reacting but I really expected the hotel to apologize and do something...but the response was a shoulder shrug. Even called customer service and same response. This place is filthy. Absolutely filthy - the afraid to sleep in the bed kind of filthy. The bathroom was repulsive. The linens were stained. The carpet was disgusting. Ceiling had water damage and was never repainted. Room was SO loud. Bathroom in public area was without hand towels the entire stay. Staff never stayed behind the desk, so you frequently had to wait long periods of time before being helped with anything. I would never stay here again. read more

This is the 4th Hampton I've visited this year. (The night before we stayed here we visited the KC airport location.) This hotel is on the bottom of the list of the 4. The room had a stench to it. We checked in on our trip to Knoxville and didn't plan on staying there. The worst part of it all.... A unexpected "drop in" by the staff to our room at 8am. Both my husband and I were nude and by the time he gathered his clothing to investigate why the door opened at 8am, he noticed that a staff member was going room by room confirming which ones were vacant by opening the door! For hospitality this is completely absurd! The excuse I received was that "we hired a new staff member" I cannot continue to comment on the rest of the property because once something as horrible and foul as this to occur, nothing else matters. This location doesn't represent the "Hampton Inn" brand whatsoever. I plan to personally see to it that is does in the future. read more
