I saw a sign for a pool, but it was outdoors, and the weather was the coldest it's been in years, so that was out of the question. We stayed for one night in December. The hotel is doing some renovations, though I could only see the materials outside. Inside, the lobby felt modern and fresh. The breakfast area is spacious with lots of options. I made myself a waffle and had some sausage and fruit. The room was updated, though had lots of bright lights on the clock and the microwave. I did appreciate the nightlight in the bathroom. We brought our dog either us for a $75 fee, which I appreciate but it felt like a bit much for one night. I stay in hotels a lot customer service at the Fairfield Inn is above and beyond breakfast on the other hand never changes and the eggs are always scorched. The sausage is always undercooked and it's the same thing every day. Solid 4 star hotel. Not super-high end, but for a reasonably priced option, a great choice. Rooms were spacious, well maintained, and, most importantly, extremely clean. Beds were extremely comfortable. Easy free parking. Conveniently located off Dual Highway. Helpful, friendly staff. Free easy wifi. I love that the front desk texts you right after check-in in so that you can reply with any needs or questions. This is a decent Hampton Inn in a great location. It's surrounded by convenience stores, a pharmacy, fast food, and a liquor store. The Hampton Inn is clean and the staff are nice folks. The room itself is well appointed and has all the amenities. I particularly enjoy the pool and wish I had more time to hang out there. I have stay at so many Hilton properties I can't recall. With No reservations I arrived early morning 1:30 AM ish. Explain how horrible my hotel was staying at that I moved. Super understand and very accommodating. Ended up getting a great night of rest and a well needed night of rest. Would and will stay there again. Hampton Inns continue to be the best value proposition in the Hilton portfolio. I checked in late night and the evening front desk attendant - Greg - was really helpful and chipper. The morning staff was super friendly and warm, too. The breakfast options were the usual Hampton fare, with continental items and a couple of warm options. The pastries could have been better but overall, for free breakfast, you get your fill. Also love the 24/7 coffee. The gym and pool looked clean and well-maintained. The room was super clean, though it smelled a little damp (i.e. humidity). I would stay here again, and I recommend it. read more

Our team was racing right down the road at the Mason Dixon dragway. I usually pick Hampton to stay at when I travel because their rooms are always remarkably clean and they have wonderful, hearty complimentary breakfast in the morning. My room was in pristine condition, very clean and very nice. The purple mood lighting above the work space was a nice touch, and the bed was very comfy. I will definitely be choosing this location for all future trips to Mason Dixon. read more

Clean and quiet for one night. The hotel is right on US-40, so there are fast food places in walking distance and some restaurants within a short drive. I thought that it was a pretty standard Hampton, not that there's anything wrong with the Hampton brand. Right on Route 40 offering great beds, free wifi and free hot breakfast, this Hampton is a solid choice. Located just far enough to the side of the big road that you won't hear much of anything. And of course free parking. Four stories, I got a modern, large, exceptionally clean room. In-room tech was also A-OK: wi-fi was excellent, hi-def broadcast & ESPN on a 37inch flat TV, but no USB charging stations. My two beds were soft and well equipped with four pillows EACH, altho a bit squeaky-springy. The work desk was small and the chair just would not go quite high enough for comfortable typing. A fridge & microwave were in a cabinet, noisy fridge .. pull plug, then quiet fridge lol. Thermostat on the wall. My bathroom was medium size and had been upgraded with granite etc., it was spotless, well stocked with towels, great. But the shower water pressure was nothing to brag about. The outdoor pool wasn't so attractive in 50 degree weather! The exercise room offered two treadmills, an elliptical machine, and some free weights. Free breakfast (starts 6am!) was the standard Hampton menu: fresh cut strawberries, fresh raspberries, bananas, yogurt, cereals, donuts, breads, oatmeal, make-your-own-waffles, hard-boiled eggs, juices, coffee in regular, premium and unleaded, plus a steam table with pre-fab bagel toppers and scrambled eggs. Love the variety and obviously the price can't be beat. Hate all the styrofoam plates and paper cups that go into the trash. You can walk to several restaurants from here, two burger joints are literally in front; several more if you're brave enough to use the crosswalk across Route 40 traffic. read more

We stayed here the 25th and 26th of October, while visiting family in Hagerstown. This hotel/Inn was so clean and fresh. They have a very friendly and welcoming staff. It was nice to wake up and have breakfast provided each morning. They have a varying assortment of cereal, pastries, cut fruit, make your own waffle, and a selection of hot dishes. The first day the hot dishes included scrambled eggs, French toast strips, and turkey sausages. They also had a selection of yogurts and boiled eggs. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends who are going to be in Hagerstown and I would definitely stay here on a return visit! They have a small gym and a small convenience store by the check-in counter if these are something you would use. read more

I was checking into a pre-paid room for two nights with a friend. The young woman behind the counter was actually very FAR behind the counter - in another room and she was not happy to help us when we went looking for someone to check us in after we had waited at least 5 minutes. Noelle was very discourteous to us and made us feel as if we were interrupting her day by being there. Larry, on the other hand, who showed up a little later was courteous and very helpful. Noelle said it wasn't her job to check us in and she seemed to be very angry that we needed her help. Maybe Larry should have been there and wasn't? IDK, but it's not my responsibility to figure that out. On a more positive side, the room is clean and the property is well appointed. What a shame that one staff person put such a sour taste in my mouth for Hampton Inn in Hagerstown, MD. read more

Had a one night stay and really enjoyed it. This was a last minute work trip and I was not at all expecting such a good hotel. The entire hotel was clean, organized and very peaceful. Extremely friendly staff as well! In particular Laura!! she allowed me to have a breakfast to go pack and really made me feel like I was taken care of personally even when there were lines at checkin :) highly recommended for business trips and vacations (pool and gym seemed really nice and clean too!) read more

Nice Hampton Inn with Difficult Entrance/Exit We like the Hampton Inn chain and this hotel measured up to the standard -- clean and well appointed rooms and a better than average breakfast with smoothies (included). Staff was friendly and helpful. The one disadvantage of this hotel is related to the layout of the streets and highway it sits on off the Interstate, which featured median barriers and few traffic lights where you would expect them. From the I-81 exit to the hotel was easy, since the hotel was on the right hand side of Dual Highway Route 40. Returning to the hotel from the opposite direction was difficult and somewhat dangerous. One had to drive past the location, then from a left lane pullout execute a U-turn on the busy "Dual Highway". No traffic light and a lot of oncoming traffic going pretty fast. Similarly, the hotel sits at the corner of Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive. We executed a right hand turn out of the hotel parking lot to Edgeware Drive on the way to a restaurant. But when we returned, a barrier in the median prevented a left hand turn into the hotel parking lot. We had to make a left on to Dual Highway, then the rather dangerous U-turn described above to get to our hotel which was so close but so far. Maybe other Hagerstown hotels have a similar issue, since the problems relate to the street layout and frustrating median barriers without jug handle turns or traffic lights. read more

I was not planning on getting a hotel, but my husband felt sick, so we pulled off the nearest highway exit and saw this hotel first. I walked in and asked the front desk for a room, which they thankfully had available. The rate on a Tuesday night was $99 plus taxes. Near the front desk was a mini store that sold products such as snacks, hygiene products, and medicines. The room had an updated and nice-looking bathroom and furniture, was clean and quiet, and had comfortable beds. Wi-fi was included in the price. A vending machine was in the hallway for soda. The lobby had tea and coffee. They had a swimming pool, exercise room, business center, and coin laundry rooms. We checked out very early in the morning so missed out on trying the breakfast. I was happy with our stay here. read more

We stayed here from Montgomery County because this place had power and wasn't sold out. It was fine for the night and is in a commercial location next to an extremely popular Sonic. The hotel is a little older but things were fine for the purpose of our one night stay. When we asked for more towels they gave us tons, but we had to go get them at the desk. The front desk staff are a bit on the older side. They move a bit slow and may make you wait a bit. They are friendly, however. I'd stay here again if I needed to be in the location. read more

(Cereal, bagels/toast, french toast, sausage, etc). Exactly what I was hoping for. Edit: Someone asked, so, if you liked everything, why 3-out-of-5? The heater was louder than I would have hoped. Very nice. I checked in with my sister and we got the last room in the place. There was a wedding or reunion or something. And we were so glad to get the room. The decor is adorable. You walk in and are greeted by a mural photograph of cows. How Maryland! Each room had a different Maryland picture on the placard with the room number. The beds were so comfortable. Clean. Great hotel in a nice, quiet location. We booked what we thought would be a suite, but the room was a bit small. Nonetheless, we adjusted and had no other complaints about our stay. However, I do wish there was much more information in the binder for local eats and businesses. Other than that, The breakfast was great! The front desk greeted me when I arrived and were very helpful. Hot showers are a must for me and they definitely provided that. I only wish I took time to visit the gym. read more

First time staying at this Hampton. It was very clean and it felt like it was just recently refreshed in rooms and common areas. It was fairly easy to get to. The breakfast had scrambled eggs with bits if ham and cheese in them. There was also a make your own waffle station with usual fare with continental breakfast. It had a pool that we were not able to utilize since it was raining. This Hampton is right behind the Sonic and next to Checkers. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator. Against the wall by the window there is a nice desk. One of the light switches is for the uplight at the top of the desk fixture, very pretty. read more

Clean, good rates, ($103 for King size bed, desk, fridge, microwave, 32" LCD, free breakfast). Typical goodness from Hampton Inn. Downside: When we checked in at 1:00 a.m., there was a very strong smell in our room. When I called the front desk, I asked if it was a Smoker's Room, I was informed there is no smoking. I asked if the room had been painted and was told that the hotel was undergoing renovation. I'm asthmatic and recovering from a severe respiratory infection, so inhaling strong fumes only aggravated a miserable condition. I awoke coughing all through the night and a sore throat in the morning. The bed headboard was slam against the wall, so every time you moved, the headboard would make a loud scratching noise. I didn't realize this until my partner was asleep, otherwise, I would have moved the bed myself. Construction started a 7:00 a.m. We were on the 4th floor and it was EXTREMELY loud. Since I didn't get to sleep until after 2:00, this made for a very rude awakening and there was no sleeping through it. It was constant and sounded as though it were right outside my window. Basically, this was a miserable stay, which is atypical of a Hampton Inn experience. Steer clear until the renovation project is complete. No mention of this was made when we called for reservations. I think all hotels should be forced to disclose renovations when customers are making reservations. Bad business. read more

Nice clean room with a comfy bed. Recently updated hotel that we would stay at again. Major con was the attitude of the front desk employee. I believe her name was Esther. When we called to book a room and inquired about using Hilton honors points she was cranky and rude. This was our first time redeeming points and we didn't know the room had to be book using the Hilton Honors number. She could have told us this information without making me feel like I was stupid. Her cranky attitude was also on display when we checked in. We just spent a week at a Hampton Inn in Corolla, NC where everyone that worked there truly went out of the way to make you feel welcome. Great stay! We stayed there for 3 nights for my son's Little League Tournament at $99 a night (group rate) for a 2 double bed room. The minute we walked in my son was happy about the big fluffy beds. Nice furniture, marble - like counter tops in bathroom and stocked with Neutrogena products, not some crappy off brand like many hotels. Cable wasn't working on TV when we first got there due to a recent storm but it was fixed almost right away. Pool was small but comfy, free breakfast in the am was great! Hot foods both mornings, waffle maker, variety of juices, etc. Beds were soooo comfy and staff was friendly, especially for having to deal with a hotel full of 10 year old boys. Only complaint, we called ahead previously to ensure one family in our group got a suite, which includes a kitchen for a family with a highly allergic child. They gave the suite away and then refused to.give it to intended family afterwards. :/ Otherwise good experience. Would stay again. read more

Excellent stay. Everything was clean, the breakfast was delicious (the zucchini bread tasted homemade), and the staff members were friendly and accommodating. The only thing might be the distance from the highway, but the drive there took us through a quaint downtown area, so that was nice. read more

Room was nice, quite a bit better in fact than I remember of the Hampton. Furnishings were nice, small fridge, great cable, towels were soft, water pressure was good, and all products offered were Neutrogena. We were very happy with the room. The hot breakfast left something to be desired. The 'scrambled eggs' were rubbery and tasted strange, like it was actually chopped up powdered eggs with yellow food coloring - yuck. The oatmeal was runny and soupy. The fruit was obviously canned and it was mushy. The sausage gravy was good, but that's about it. Book a room at this hotel for the room itself, but skip breakfast and go to Denny's down the street. read more
