Very nice property. We stayed here for a few days in November 2014. The staff was nice, the rooms were comfortable and the proximity to the L.I.E. was much appreciated. The breakfast area in the lobby was often crowded, and at one time, it seemed to be completely over-run by a sports team. The fact that I picked a smoking room when I booked is completely my fault, so I can't take stars away for that. The staff was so amazing when I checked in, and realized my mistake. I couldn't move, Bc they were booked, but the staff offered to febreeze and ionize my room. They were sweet and attentive. My linens were clean, but the rest of my room was not very clean. There were crumbs, dirt and lint in the corners. They also need to replace all of the carpet in the entire hotel. It was stained and filthy, not a good impression. The AC unit in my room was very loud and never got the space cool, despite being on the lowest setting. I'll try and avoid this stop next time. read more

Nice hotel. Definitely pricier than I would normally have been willing to pay considering the rooms are very small and the area is not very populated to warrant pricing this way. Walls are paper thin so be prepared to hear screaming children next door when they wake up. The air conditioning didn't blow very well in our room (501) but that may have been an isolated incident. Oh, and don't even dream of using the complimentary wi-fi. It's so over-used that it is too slow to even function. Breakfast hours are the norm I suppose, but were way too early for us to attend, and was so packed that it wasn't even worth the time. Only actual complaint is regarding the pool not being open 24 hours. The fitness center was open 24 hours and I would assume the liability issues would be about the same... definitely disappointing as during our stay we did not use any of the facilities we searched for in a hotel. My stay at the Hampton is was nice, I like the breakfast from 6-10am The room was nice as well very clean , the bed was on the hard/firm side ! The pillows are great, I liked the bathroom as well , good shower ! Dislike the hallways smelled like smoke, also it was a little bit noises as well. When we entered our room the heat was set to 58degrees . Prices really do range from $119-$179. I would say for $119 it's worth it But for $179 is not worth the money, there are some better hotels near by. read more

Staff is really friendly! My parents have stayed in this hotel and told me they loved it so I gave it a try and I'm glad I did. The room was very clean, it's outdated but it was clean and comfortable. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will return! read more

Pajamas were left in the room and we called immediatley to ask if they were found. We were given the run around and I called to follow up and were told they weren't found. Furthermore I was told the "cleaning people have turned in much more expensive things than your pajamas." Very class and very professional response. read more

I went to my mom's funeral in NY so I took the only room available, which was a smoking room with a king-size bed. Aside from two lights being blown, the room had bed bugs. We stayed two nights and it was really the second night that was bad. We told management and they were sort of blase. My wife was bitten all over I have pictures if you want to see them. Lucky for us my daughter warned us about not taking our clothes into our house. We had to undress in the garage, put all washable clothes directly in the wash, dry them twice and as for clothes that could not be washed, they had to go to the dry cleaners even though they were not worn. We then had to buy a steamer and steam out our luggage, leather jackets and shoes in the back yard. It's a good thing we did because both suitcases has bed bugs. Finally, my wife had to go to the dermatologist to get treated for them because they itched so much. Today is October 18th, and they have just begun to heal. The hotel was not not cheap and our monies reimbursed immediately, but as I said above, management took a blase attitude or maybe this is not the first time. read more

We stayed here while visiting from Fl. Good thing there was a Lowes next door, for tools, w/in walking dist. as I had to try to do a sensor swap on an Altima. WTF!?! Still had to go to the dealer to do the swap or end up possibly being stuck somewhere in the sticks off 95 on the return ride. Anyway the desk people are friendly and the breakfast bar opens @ 6ish so I could eat then about, as I usually get up 430 ish, and then eat again, lol, before it shuts down, Plenty of bagels, OJ, coffee, milk, jelly,toast, yogurt, etc...like a mini denny's w/o the cooking,lol. There also is an indoor pool, not olympic but who of us are true swimmers? If you want to get wet or hold your breath underwater and try to beat the record you can go for it. Also there's a weight room if you want to buff up or just strecth as I do, so when I get back to work I'm not sore, We had a splendid view of Commack rd and the parking lot and the cable TV allowed us to hear of Prince's death, how untimely. Overall I guess the place is pretty good for the money, it seemed like the lesser priced places were, umm on the seedier side....like hourly rates,,ugh. You come to a hotel to sleep and you will not get a good night's sleep here. I stay in Hampton's for their consistently and this one was a huge disappointment. The hotel staff is really lovely and that's the only thing that gives this hotel 2 stars. The outer front door appears to be broken, making the eating area cold and drafty. The beds feel like rocks, while the pillows are mushy. Water was leaking through the roof in our room from the shower on the floor above. For $160 a night (AAA rate) you can do much better. read more

I'm a Hilton Honor Diamond member and have stayed in many Hampton Inns. This is probably one of the oldest and dirtiest. This property needs refreshing. Carpets are stained and sticky. Rooms are cramped. The pullout bed mattress was very lumpy and you can feel every spring. Thankfully they had a mattress topper which made sleeping bearable. Closer is small. Bathroom is tiny. Limited buffet items. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Checked in for a three-night stay at $130/night plus tax. The lobby was clean and modern-looking, and the lady behind the counter seemed friendly enough - initially. My room up on the third floor was beautiful.The bed was very comfy. Nice flat-screen TV with a decent channel selection. The pool was awesome, and the complimentary breakfast was good - but, as with all hotel breakfasts, avoid the eggs. Watery and rubbery. I wish we had left after the third night. At the end of my third day at the hotel, it became apparent I was going to need another day on Long Island to complete my work. I went down to the front desk, paid for another night, and was told everything was "all-set". I should have asked for a receipt. The next morning, one of the maids invited herself into our locked room, despite the Do-Not-Disturb sign. My wife was blow-drying her hair and had not dressed yet. Luckily, she was able to quickly shut the bathroom door. Once dressed, we went downstairs and I politely complained to the counter lady who had initially checked us in that a member of the cleaning staff had invited herself into our locked room without even knocking. The lady then told me, "Well, you were supposed to be out of here over an hour ago. You paid for three nights. Your check-out was 11 this morning." I politely told her that I had extended my stay the night before, and had even paid for it. She then looked me up on her computer and said, "There's nothing in here that says that. Who did you speak with?" I told her the employee's name and she quickly excused herself, walking to the back room for several minutes. By this time, a considerable line had formed behind me, as a large wedding party had started filing into the lobby. The lady returned from the back room and apologized, saying the young man I had spoken to "recently lost his grandfather" and "must have screwed something up due to being emotional." While I appreciated her ostensible honesty, I was slightly concerned by her not only throwing the young man under the bus for this, but also relaying information about his family to me, which made me wonder if some privacy law had been broken. I thanked her for her apology and she went to work arranging the extension of my stay. When she was done typing everything in, she informed me that the cost of my room had "gone up" and that it would now be $174 instead of $130. I politely told her that I would not be paying an additional $44 dollars for my room and gently reminded her that it was Hampton's fault I was in this mess. Visibly annoyed with me, she changed the price on her computer and swiped my card. Then, for reasons I can only chalk up to spite, she then very loudly informed me that she had tried to call my room the night before due to a "noise complaint", claiming "several" people had called to complain about a crying baby - my 2-year-old son. She could have left it at that, but instead, very loudly in front of packed lobby, said, "We were very concerned that you had abandoned your child in the room or were abusing him because we could not reach you over the room's phone." My wife and I had unplugged the room's phone because our son kept trying to make calls on it. This was the reason for his very brief tantrum. I took my receipt and quickly left. The story was obvious bullshit. If there was any serious concern, they would have sent an employee or a law enforcement officer to the room. They never did, nor did they try us on our cell phones. So, for $520 plus tax, I was publicly accused of child abuse/abandonment. Yay. I reported the counter lady to the manager, who offered me a $10 Dunkin Donuts gift card for my "troubles" instead of comping my fourth night in return for the embarrassment. Hampton's customer service reps offered nothing but a promise to "look into it." Long story short, great hotel, shitty people. read more

I am staying at the Hampton now and I am not sleeping between the bed and pillows it is not at all comfortable. The room has a smell to it. I have been keeping the air conditioning on to help with this. The food is very bad if you are looking for healthy. No low carb items at all. The banana and apple are about it. Can someone please tell me why European hotels from the same chains as here have such better choices? The food in Switzerland was unbelievable. No pride in America so sad:( The pool is awesome, beautiful color not green like most other hotels and warm. I can not swim in a cool pool but this is very nice. The staff is very nice not a bad one among them. Kudos to them all! read more

We celebrated my dad's 90th birthday party at a restaurant in Hauppage and we chose this hotel to stay in. We had over 40 people in our party staying in the hotel, and we pretty much took over the lobby from Friday evening to Sunday morning. The staff was so accommodating and friendly, and allowed us to have an amazing weekend visiting with friends and family from all over the country. Could not have been a better stay, and a special thank you to the staff that worked the weekend in mid-February! read more

We had to find something fast and within budget. Unexpected funeral/wake in the Kings Park area and we chose this one for it's price and location. Everything was great - the early check-in request and roll away bed. The check in was quick and we received the extra bed within 3 minutes of us arriving at the room. We were in room 501 which was the corner room and we didn't hear any of our neighbors. Clean sheets, comfy mattresses and the standard bathroom accessories (blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner, large mirrors etc...) A/C works fine and wifi too. Lot's of places to charge your devices. Close to 495 for easy access to the hotel. There is a great diner right next to it! The free breakfast was awesome. Eggs were kinda runny but my kids didn't mind. Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar is available 24 hours. Large parking area and close to a Walmart and other shops. Staff was great too! read more

I'm a frequent traveler and always stay at Hampton hotels. This one is the worst one I have ever experienced. Choose which you want most-- hot water or AC but don't expect both. The manager cuts every corner possible and 3 times I tried this one for ease of work location but I give up. Never again! Don't do it. read more

Fails in the most important function a hotel like a Hampton serves: the mattress is a very firm -- hard -- poor quality, steel spring mattress. Easily the worst hotel mattress I've ever experienced. Manager was cooperative and told me all the mattresses in the place are the same. She gave us an egg crate foam as a mattress topper to try too compensate, but it was still horrible. I'll never stay there again. Clean hotel in other respects and would be fine if the owner had not cheaped out on bottom of the barrel bedding. read more

We have stayed at most hotels near the South Shore Beaches. Last year due to a wedding, we stayed at this Hampton Inn, and we have been going back every weekend, last summer, and now this summer. Every property you ever stay at will have a problem from time to time. The judge of a hotel is how they handle it. This staff is five star all the way. Rooms decent and always clean, with refrigerator and microwave. It is our weekend home for the summer, and we are made to feel like we are home. Good breakfast items available at 6am, a plus since we head to beach at 7. Always clean, and always a smile. Not to mention a great diner right next door, plenty of shops nearby, and right off the LIE. We don't need the fanciest, what counts is a comfortable bed, good service, comfortable and clean. This has it all. Oh and the cookies when we check in are good too, as well as the always fresh coffee available. Perfect. read more

Hosted my wedding guests here last weekend. Maryann was courteous and professional with the room block and booking a room for a post-wedding breakfast. The rooms were clean and the suite we received (comped due to our guests booking enough rooms) was huge. We arrived at the hotel after our reception by coach bus @11:30pm and the front desk manager allowed us to hang out in the front lobby/breakfast area until we all dropped @3am.
