One of the front desk representatives was extremely rude and would benefit greatly from retraining, or perhaps a role behind the scenes where she does not interact with guests. When I showed her a photo of the conditions in our room, she simply asked to take a picture of it and then completely ignored me. On top of that service experience, we had to be reassigned to three different rooms before getting a decent one: * Room 1: Was not properly cleaned; there were hairs all over the bed and a filthy bathroom. * Room 2: Had what appeared to be blood stains on the bedding. * Room 3: Was acceptable by default, though the AC was weak and a fixture came off in the shower which were issues that only seemed minor compared to what we had just dealt with. To be fair, credit should be given to the representative who assisted with the room changes bevause she was helpful and apologetic. I also spoke with a manager at checkout to provide a brief rundown of this experience. While she apologized and offered to add some points to my account, the gesture felt minimal given the inconvenience of the situation. We were extremely disappointed with this stay. Had we been able to switch hotels last minute, we absolutely would have. This is simply not the level of hospitality or standards I have come to expect from the Marriott brand.

Our check in went smooth and the front desk staff was very nice. Sad that it was on a Saturday and no M Lounge, but we enjoyed the restaurant for an evening bite and breakfast the next morning. Parking was free which was great. There is valet service available for overnite if you need it. The breakfast buffet was very nice and you can tell they make sure everything looks nicely put together and neat and clean. That's impt to me, especially with breakfast buffets. The food was good and plentiful. The room was a very nice size, comfortable and we had plenty of room. The chargers worked on both sides of the bed, which was nice to see. We used points for this trip, and prices weren't too bad without the points. We will definitely be back when we need a place to stay in the Melville area.

Avery large building, luckily I kept driving and came up to the lobby entrance. Although the parking lot next to this lobby entrance was further away from our room, which we found out later on. But fixed thru moving to the area. Checking in was ok, although they wound up changing my rooms a couple times as the rooms weren't ready. Which caused an initial issue with me trying to get my digital keys. Rooms were very spacious, especially the king 2 bedroom suites. We had two rooms, a smaller King with a sofa bed. We were able to find the bedding and pillows for our sofa bed but my family in another King 2 bedroom suite was missing their bedding and only had a blanket and pillows. I did mention that they should have called the front desk as I am sure they would have been given the sheets. AC in the rooms worked too well. At around 2am I was so cold I tried to turn the thermostat down but couldn't figure it out and wound up shutting it off. I found out the next day that you needed to hold the temp button down for five seconds to engage the change. This is the first place where I have ever seen a "Pet in the Room" sign. I had to laugh at that. They have a nice small gym and a pool so you can enjoy those. Morning breakfast buffet was nice. Although they needed to be a little more attentive as the plates ran out as well as the scrambled eggs. Saw they had oatmeal raisin cookies but they were super hard. Like hockey pucks. Had to dip out in my coffee to soften them up.

I had no clue prior.Great for the photos, the hey I was there, the ego, the bucket list .... But here is the true, unassuming champ of all these hotels ;also part of the Marriot network including Ritz Carlton and it is located right here where I grew up - Long Island. I am glowingly talking about the Four Points by Sheraton in Plainview/ Melville on the South service road of the Expressway aka my HOME away from HOME. The people here - the staff are indeed the most important asset and they are golden, they are solid and consistent. Hailey - Manager Extraordinaire- amazing, professional, caring, proactive, so very patient, a genuine person, kind and very aware. She sets the bar for excellent natural customer service. Plus a huge sushi fan and just fun to talk to. Brianna - a great and beautiful soul who is also my foodie pal and just so efficient and calm. She is so effortless & soft spoken yet great and solid at the front desk multitasking between housekeeping staff, a guest checking out, another buying a Cup of Noodles and the phone ringing; making all happy and satisfied with a smile. Superstar Brianna. Nirmala- outstanding person, very caring, on top of everything, always finds a solution. Clifton - the stellar Chef! He is the nicest, most friendly, aware, courteous, humble, outward and super quick Manager/Chef/ all hat wearing Skipper who has this beautiful and great energy; he feeds all of us with the best special omelettes and those killer potatoes. He has become a dear friend as we speak often about our families and better halves. This hotel used to be a motel. It is clean, maintained well; the suites are spectacular, spacious and comfortable. The beds are comfy. I slept really well. The seating area in the suites is roomy and inviting. The showers are strong . The housekeeping team always smiles and is so helpful. The location is so convenient- just off Sunnyside Blvd on the Long Island Expwy only 28 miles from Manhattan and 21 from JFK airport. There are great restaurants in Plainview and Melville close by and the one n only Ralphie's Cafe is a 77 second walk from the lobby. The prices are great. While I…read morepraise the historic charm, expansive gardens, and opulent Gilded Age aesthetic, I noted the aging room interiors, inconsistent restaurant service, and occasional amenity limitations compared to modern luxury hotels. I as a guest Guests noted the "Great Gatsby" vibe and the magical feeling of staying in the second-largest private home in America. The historic guided tours of the estate are highly recommended. The formal European-style gardens and sweeping outdoor terraces are what I considered the highlight of the property. Located on Long Island's Gold Coast, it is an incredibly convenient and picturesque escape for New York City locals. I feel that that the historic rooms lean slightly toward being dark or dated, lacking the ultra-modern luxury touches expected at this price point. While the OHK Bar & Restaurant receives praise for its upscale European ambiance, reviews note that the food quality and service speed can occasionally fall short, especially for basic breakfast or brunch orders. Unlike standard luxury resorts, the estate has a limited number of staterooms and can feel relatively quiet or lacking in on-site activities once the outdoor spaces have been explored. Still, it is quite an experience visiting this opulent gilded age castle.

The menu is a little limited but I was able to find the pacchieri alà vodka with fresh pasta and I really enjoyed it! I got a mocktail as well, which was also refreshing. For an app we shared the truffle fries because although this is fine dining -fries always hit the spot amirite?! So location was perfect for me, the rooms were clean as well with outdated beds, beds set were clean as well, just like the comfort of not sharing anything with nobody. Cost was also okay for the locations. Customer service was okay depending on who was there, my first night checking in, no one was there for 10mins and there's no bell to ring and I mentioned it to the young lady who checked me in but she had some attitude; I was too tired for her, and need to sleep for few hrs before work early morning. So I let that slide. Next day, I told them that my room phone wasn't working and they promised to fix it next day but never did for 5wks. They said breakfast was included, it's a coffee bags that tasted awful, with package oatmeal, muffin, snacks bars. It's like a joke on my first morning. After that, I did some grocery and never pay them any attention with their plus breakfast. Environment seems to be safe i guess but I didn't wonder around after dark. My major complaint was the smoking of weed all over the property and inside the hallways, even the venting system was circulating it in other rooms. I complaint several times but they told me that there's no way they cld know who was smoking and which rooms. So I just left my window open whenever it happened since the room doesn't have any fan. Overall, it's was okay and wasn't noisy to woke me from sleep any day. I observed school buses coming every morning pickups, so some families actually lived there or they are in-between homes. Only negative note would be I had already pre-paid for the stay and was required to leave a $100 credit card hold, which is standard practice. Upon checkout I learned they processed the $100 "hold" at check in and charged my account, they tell me to monitor my account 3 - 7 business days for the refund to be processed. This I think is an unfair and non-standard practice. This had temporary locked my credit card while I was on vaca, not a good position on vacation. Over all, it was a pleasant experience, I would recommend and also stay again.

So I go on Google to leave my review for the Hollywood Motel in Farmingdale, and the FIRST thing that pops up is this news article saying TWO MEN WERE FOUND UNALIVE IN THE JACUZZI. HUH?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That's the SAME room we stayed in! We were literally sitting in that nasty old crusty jacuzzi like it was nothing. It wasn't even remodeled or replaced. So you're telling me two people died in that tub, they bodies were found soaking in there, and y'all just cleaned it up and rented the room back out like nothing ever happened? Ain't no way. I don't even care if they bleached that thing a thousand times. The thought alone got me sick to my stomach. I'm sitting here replaying it in my head and getting goosebumps. I would've NEVER gotten in that jacuzzi if I knew what happened in that room. Isn't there some kind of law where you gotta tell people somebody died in the room? Or at least remodel the place or rip that old jacuzzi out! Instead it's the same busted, ancient tub looking like it's been there since the '80s. I'm dead serious... I don't think I'm sleeping for a month after finding this out. This whole place creeped me out before I knew the story, and now it all makes sense. Never again. One of the most disturbing motel experiences l've ever had. One star is being generous.
