The breakfast that was advertised was just a tray of granola bars, juice and coffee. We were not warned that there was going to be construction on the property during our stay. The maintenance man actually banged loudly on our door before 9am despite having a "do not disturb" sign up. The cleaning carts were also very loud as they were rolled on the sidewalk just outside our room, also before 9am and could hear the employees talking. We expressed the inconvenience of the maintenance man banging on our door repeatedly and waking us up. He said he would look into it. At checkout the next morning (4/28) we had to bring it up again because we received no follow up. The explanation we received was that it was a mistake. We asked if we could be discounted or anything done for the inconvenience. He continued to just explain that it was a mistake and even shared photos of the repairs that were supposed to be done in the room next to us. The customer service at this point was insulting in the way he would disregard that I was having a serious complaint and just proceeded to handle our checkout and say "you're all set." This is supposed to be a business that provides the service of hospitality. It did not feel that way.

Overall this place was terrible and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemies!!!! STAY ELSEWHERE TRUST ME!!!

What I really appreciated was the new (or at least new looking), clean bathroom with a clean and functional bathroom fan, and the glorious shower with a big shower head. Given the importance of a good night's sleep, the location some distance away from the main road earns them an extra point. What detracted from an otherwise fantastic stay was the gap under the door (pictured) through which cold winter air seeped through, and the mattress with a slight sag. I hope they improve and continue to do well.

I told him that the smell of weed has been coming into my room for two days all morning before we leave and all night. He basically hung up on me and made me feel like he did not care. Absolutely disgusting place. Dirty, maids don't even has a mop on their cart to clean the floor. I had to borrow their Clorox spray and do it myself. Unfortunately I booked through Expedia and they won't give me a refund. Bottom line..... find somewhere that is better than this crap hole

While I…read morepraise the historic charm, expansive gardens, and opulent Gilded Age aesthetic, I noted the aging room interiors, inconsistent restaurant service, and occasional amenity limitations compared to modern luxury hotels. I as a guest Guests noted the "Great Gatsby" vibe and the magical feeling of staying in the second-largest private home in America. The historic guided tours of the estate are highly recommended. The formal European-style gardens and sweeping outdoor terraces are what I considered the highlight of the property. Located on Long Island's Gold Coast, it is an incredibly convenient and picturesque escape for New York City locals. I feel that that the historic rooms lean slightly toward being dark or dated, lacking the ultra-modern luxury touches expected at this price point. While the OHK Bar & Restaurant receives praise for its upscale European ambiance, reviews note that the food quality and service speed can occasionally fall short, especially for basic breakfast or brunch orders. Unlike standard luxury resorts, the estate has a limited number of staterooms and can feel relatively quiet or lacking in on-site activities once the outdoor spaces have been explored. Still, it is quite an experience visiting this opulent gilded age castle.

The grounds here are lovely and there was no wedding or private event so we got to explore the grounds and rooms which was super cool. The dining area is smaller than expected but that's fine with me - makes it more intimate. The menu is a little limited but I was able to find the pacchieri alà vodka with fresh pasta and I really enjoyed it! I got a mocktail as well, which was also refreshing. For an app we shared the truffle fries because although this is fine dining -fries always hit the spot amirite?! I loved the sorbet dessert, hubs didn't love his as much - an apple pie turnover of sorts. Service was attentive and friendly. I'd return for drinks and an app but it is pretty pricey to come for dinner if it's not a special occasion.

Avery large building, luckily I kept driving and came up to the lobby entrance. Although the parking lot next to this lobby entrance was further away from our room, which we found out later on. But fixed thru moving to the area. Checking in was ok, although they wound up changing my rooms a couple times as the rooms weren't ready. Which caused an initial issue with me trying to get my digital keys. Rooms were very spacious, especially the king 2 bedroom suites. We had two rooms, a smaller King with a sofa bed. We were able to find the bedding and pillows for our sofa bed but my family in another King 2 bedroom suite was missing their bedding and only had a blanket and pillows. I did mention that they should have called the front desk as I am sure they would have been given the sheets. AC in the rooms worked too well. At around 2am I was so cold I tried to turn the thermostat down but couldn't figure it out and wound up shutting it off. I found out the next day that you needed to hold the temp button down for five seconds to engage the change. This is the first place where I have ever seen a "Pet in the Room" sign. I had to laugh at that. They have a nice small gym and a pool so you can enjoy those. Morning breakfast buffet was nice. Although they needed to be a little more attentive as the plates ran out as well as the scrambled eggs. Saw they had oatmeal raisin cookies but they were super hard. Like hockey pucks. Had to dip out in my coffee to soften them up.

Last weekend I saw them doing the impossible! The wedding ceremony was to take place outside and everything was ready. A few minutes before seating down it started raining. Here's what happened: the staff took apart the reception room and set it up as a ceremony room, in minutes! Everything went on schedule. Afterwards while the people were at the cocktail hour, they transformed the "ceremony room" into to a dining room! Everything was flawless and there was enough time for the bride and groom to take their pictures with all the decorations! Weddings are once in a lifetime events and these people have the knowledge and the muscle power to make everything run smoothly! Honestly I didn't know this was possible. They did it all with a smile on their faces, most of the guests had no clue as to what happened. There's some things that money can't buy this is one of them!

I waited in line at the bar for about 15 minutes and by the time I go to the bartender and asked for a water... the bartender told me they did not have any water. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and obviously cannot drink and the bartender told me to check the other bar. Frustrated beyond belief, I sent my husband to the second bar who the bartender looked confused and said he did not have water as well. My husband had to go to the first floor to find someone setting up the main ballroom to give me water. How can you be a wedding venue and hope people are safe with drinking and not have water available at the bars?! The basement cocktail hour was also very crowded, dark and had no signal. The food was meh for cocktail hour and dinner. Would not recommend.

You know... clean enough, decent enough, maybe a solid 2 or 3 stars. I was completely wrong. The Holiday Inn in Plainview completely shattered every expectation I had. From the moment you pull into the property, you can tell it's exceptionally well maintained. Then you walk through those front doors and... WOW. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous. It's open, spacious, beautifully designed, and immediately gives you that upscale hotel feeling. It honestly reminded me more of a Hilton or Marriott than what most people picture when they hear "Holiday Inn." To the right is a beautiful restaurant that adds to the overall atmosphere, and to the left is where you meet one of this hotel's greatest assets... The front desk staff. I can't say enough good things about them. Every single person we encountered greeted us with genuine smiles, professional attire, and the kind of welcoming attitude that instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. It wasn't the forced "customer service smile." It was authentic. Now let me talk about someone who truly deserves to be recognized... Francisco. Holiday Inn... if anyone from corporate is reading this, I hope you know exactly who I'm talking about because this young man deserves every bit of recognition that comes his way. We were staying here during one of the most stressful times imaginable... moving. If you've ever had to coordinate hotels while waiting on housing, you already know it's exhausting. Every day felt like another puzzle to solve. Almost every single day I found myself at the front desk needing something. Another night added. Another extension. Questions. Changes. Updates. I probably drove the poor guy crazy... Not once... NOT ONCE... did Francisco ever make me feel like I was a burden. Every interaction was met with patience, professionalism, kindness, and a smile. He didn't just answer questions. He solved problems. When I needed extra time before extending my stay, he worked with me. When I was overwhelmed, he somehow had this calm energy that immediately made me feel like everything was going to work out. That's a rare gift. Customer service isn't just checking people in and handing over room keys. It's making people feel seen. It's making people feel welcome. It's making stressful situations just a little less stressful. Francisco does all of that effortlessly. If I owned this hotel, I'd be recognizing him publicly because employees like him are exactly why guests return. Better yet... I'd have him teaching customer service seminars to every new front desk employee because he truly sets the gold standard. As for the hotel itself... Our room was incredibly spacious, spotless, and comfortable. The double beds were surprisingly roomy. Two adults and my son fit comfortably without feeling cramped, which is almost unheard of. The mattresses were comfortable, the room was modern, everything worked exactly as it should, and housekeeping clearly takes pride in what they do. The outdoor pool was clean, refreshing, and well maintained. After spending the last couple of weeks bouncing between different hotels while waiting to move, I can honestly say this was, hands down, one of the best experiences we had. In fact... if I had known this Holiday Inn existed and offered this level of service, quality, and value, I would've skipped the other places entirely and booked here from the very beginning. So to Francisco, the incredible front desk team, housekeeping, and everyone behind the scenes... Thank you. You didn't just provide us with a room. You provided us with peace of mind. Five stars without hesitation... and if Francisco could receive a sixth star for customer service alone, I'd happily give it to him.
