    Here is my breakfast

There was no hot water in the shower (Room 315) and the breakfast was mid at best. There wasn't any fresh baked items only frozen biscuits, bread for toasting and small muffins. Very disappointing

    Baby cockroach

When I booked the room, I booked a room with a sofa bed, there definitely was not a sofa bed. I booked the bigger room as I have a special needs daughter with autism and we needed the room for her and all her equipment. We did not get the room I requested. The room smelt disgusting . And later in the night, I saw two baby cockroaches. Cockroaches are extremely difficult and expensive to get rid of once they're in your home. I will not ever go here again! I do not recommend.

The rooms were clean and nice but I was very frustrated that for the price we paid, once we arrived everything was under construction. I paid more to have a hotel with a nice gym but upon arriving the locks and door knobs had been removed. I asked the woman working the desk and she said it was "due to renovations" but seeing clearly through the window that there was nothing going on. There's also pallets lining the main hallways currently taking up space but no one seems to be really doing anything.

    Our room

Great one nite stay after a long day of driving. Clean even during renovations. Comfortable room with wide-variety hot breakfast. Convenient at last major exit going northbound on 20/59.

The hotel is dingy and showing age before its time -- the lobby is just sad looking.

Hotel definitely needs to be updated and is showing its age. Paid $120 per night. Based on condition of hotel, $80 would have been fair.

This hotel is a sweet throwback to the 50s-60s era. Well done restoration Marriott. I hate I'm only…read morehere a week as the area has so much to offer. From the rooftop bar to the beautiful rooms-this place has it all

I love a hotel that's housed in an old office building--there's something that feels both efficient…read moreand luxurious about it. I like to imagine the industry that played out in the space where I'm resting, the thought of someone taking a break from wheeling and dealing to look out of this same window in the 1940s and what else was going on around them. I'd never been to Meridian before, just passed through on the same road trip home after the holidays. It's about 4 and a half hours from NOLA and the perfect place to stay before the final leg of the trip home so that we'd be home at a reasonable hour. Meridian feels a bit frozen in time and this hotel is situated in a quaint downtown area. It's not very lively, even on a Saturday night but I believe the rooftop bar here might be where the action is (I passed it by when getting water in the gym that's on the same floor). I like a Tribute property, which always promises a less corporate/more boutique stay. It has its charm (original mail chute, be still my heart!) and quirks (tiny rooms, old timey elevators that take their time). The main lobby is mainly the restaurant (closed when I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday) with reception in what seems like bank teller windows. I appreciate the convenience of a Starbucks right next door (entrance from the lobby) and if we weren't looking to rest after a endless car ride, there's a few places to get food/drinks within walking distance. Rooms are cozy, beds are excellent and the bathroom is small/nothing special. Would this be an ideal stay for a vacation? Probably not, though I don't expect a vacation in Meridian anytime soon, if ever. I'd stay again, as a more interesting road trip stay than your typical Marriott Courtyards/Fairfield/Residence Inns. When we stayed it was only a little over 100 dollars/night, which is pretty sweet.

It's a decent hotel. My room needed some touches of paint here and there. But it was clean…read more Positives: clean, fairly new (last 4 years?) decor and furniture, I liked the laminate floor as opposed to carpet because I had pets to clean up after. Negatives: Tiny fridge that didn't work (but was replaced), no working exhaust in the bath with an open shower concept, a minimalistic style room with no drawers or closed cabinets or closet (open hanging), hanging light was missing a shade, there was a leak upstairs that left a stain on the ceiling, and a large scuff mark on the wall, I couldn't get my electric window blind to roll up, no microwave, and no guest laundry. Not really the best setup for over a couple days stay. I stayed over a week with pets. (I'm comparing to Home 2 Suites where I usually stay which has a kitchenette with almost full fridge, microwave, sink, dish washer, optional hot plate, pans and dishes, a couch, and guest laundry for the same price - at least I get it the same price). Overall, I would rank it below Home 2 Suites for the lack of conveniences. So give it a 7 and H2S a 9. But the light laminate floors are a plus with pets!
