Fantastic service during COVID! Face masks required in all public areas and plastic dividers are up between you and the the check in/out staff. They also have tables set up to help enforce the 6 foot distance recommendations, which are greatly appreciated. They do not do daily housekeeping at this time to reduce contact between people during COVID and let you know ahead of time. Before checking in, I received a helpful email with all of the changes due to the pandemic. It was really helpful! The staff is really helpful and allowed me to check in as soon as the room was ready without additional fee. I was also able to upgrade to a king studio suite without additional cost because it was available and I'm a Hilton Honors member. It's been a really comfortable stay and I love having the fridge and microwave in my room with the uncertainty of the pandemic. It makes me feel a lot safer to eat here with take out. read more

Again, HI has a quality place to stay. In an oilfield town like Odessa, cleanliness is tough but this one is a good one. And yes, it's expensive - but everywhere in the Midland-Odessa area is so you might as well get a nice place. The only down side, as in any HI, no bar, and even though they are on a main drag, walking is a bit much. Twin Peaks at one end of the block and Hooters at the other. Uber works though. read more

I think my 4th star was because I wasn't expecting much, but regardless here goes: On an organised tour, so can't comment on the price, and we obviously didn't pick the hotel. Odessa was the destination of choice mainly because something something about presidents & high school football, but really it's on the way from Dallas to Big Bend. First thing I noticed was how modern & big the hotel looked. I was kind of expecting more dodgy Bates Motel (hey, my last organised US tour was Contiki so can you blame me?). Once inside, the breakfast & coffee area, along with a big table near reception all stood out. There's free coffee, cookies & even m&m's all day long! The artwork in the hotel was all B&W photos and chosen to represent Texas in some way - even each room even had a different photo next to the door number - think old signs, farms etc. Loved it all. Once in the room, I was rather impressed at the size - 2 comfy double beds with a flat screen TV, and plenty of room to move around (had a few of the others in for drinks later on and by no way were we cramped). Shower pressure was good, if you needed toothpaste / brush you could ask reception, and the toiletries were all Neutrogena! There was a fridge, coffee maker & extra sink all in the room. The sink came in handy when my roommate was in the bathroom, I could still brush my teeth, score! The pool was open from 7am to 10pm, and was a really nice area with tables, hairs, lounges & umbrellas. I didn't interact with the staff at all, so can't comment on that side of it, but all the little design, and welcome touches (see the post it pics!) made for a really enjoyable stay. Was safe to walk around the area at night as there's a bit of traffic, near a mall, liquor store & a few little take away food joints. I'd stay again if I found myself in the area. read more

We stayed here on the way from NC to AZ. Odd little town but the staff was super friendly. The rooms were clean and we were given a spacious suite. We only only stayed here one night but enjoyed our stay. I'd really like to thank the staff because after driving for about 3 hours East closer to home, I realized my iWatch wasn't around my wrist. I looked around the car and in my back pack and couldn't find it. I called the hotel, they answered right away and the receptionist went up to the room and found it in between the bed covers. They all assisted in mailing it back to me and I just received it today! I am so grateful! I've stayed in so many hotels and have lost so many items and have only had a couple of them be returned like my baby's blanket for example. I've left expensive electric facial cleansers in the shower before and they were never turned in. I know, you'd think I would've learned my lesson but that's what happens when you have 3 kids and are packing up early in the morning. Things are missed so thank you staff of Hampton Inn Odessa for your honesty and getting my watch shipped so quickly! read more

During a recent business trip I stayed here. The first key they gave me was to a heavy smokers room. The second key they gave me was to a room occupied by someone already. They were NOT happy to see me n their room. The third times the charm and I had my own room UNTIL 5:00am when someone elses room key opened my hotel room door and I was greeted by someone yelling at me to unbolt the interior lock. This hotel has some serious issues to work through. They should really focus more on customer service and attention to detail. read more

I feel like I am reviewing a McDonalds or something, but here we go: If you should find yourself in the market for an Odessa Hotel, this is a better than average option. The beds are really comfortable; they have a bunch of pillows; the rooms are spacious; the desk folks are nice; and breakfast is more substantial than a sweet roll. Horrible horrible horrible service. First nonworking showers, then an AC unit that gave off fumes and then died (in the desert, HELLLOOOOO) with nobody to fix it, topped off by hideous staff. Nobody speaks english on deck, so heaven help you if you have a request and aren't fluent in Spanish. Great for a hotel serving cross-country travelers *eyeroll*. Then the frontdesk clerk, Shaun, managed to simultaneously insult, ignore, and swindle me. Astounding! I got interrupted, YELLED AT, hung up on, and walked out on. Never an apology, efficient processes, explanations, or even complete sentences. Even after I spoke to corporate, Shaun had nothing to say to me while checking out except more passive-aggressive grunting and more avoidance of eye contact. Oh, wait, he did say "Well I've been discharged from the Military, some folks 'round here respect me for that." Brilliant. Half my family was or is in the military -- I lost a cousin in Afghanistan -- and those still living don't demand respect based on what they've done, they EARN it, every day, through their words and deeds. Shaun barked at me like a Sergeant to a Private! Now I'm curious...when was that young, young man discharged...and why? And if he's old enough to be discharged from the military, why was he working frontdesk at a hotel instead of making $30 an hour on an Oil Rig? So I had to call Corporate to get anything done. And why did I have to speak to Corporate? Because the Hampton Inn does not have a manager on staff on the weekends. Is this because of the local job shortage? Hmm, it doesn't seem to have affected the fantastic staffing of the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, which is right next door. No, I suspect that the despicable service at this hotel -- missing management, absent technicians, reprehensible front desk staff, hostile housekeeping crew, constantly broken amenities, blarfworthy morning breakfasts -- all of these issues can be laid squarely at the feet of Management. This property was just okay for me. It served it's purpose.. The decor in the room was actually kinda "homely"....kinda felt like I was staying in a 2-story motel or something the way the room decor was. And I have to apologize, because it's been about 10 days and 7 hotels later that I'm writing this review -- so my memory may not remember everything. But I do recall the feeling when I walked into the room... thinking it was like staying in your Grandma's guest room or something. :( There was a separate sink area in the room with the coffee maker (which was kind odd). But the staff was always friendly -- at check-in to check-out to the attendant in the complimentary breakfast area. There were 3 cardio machines in the converted room, which is now the "Fitness Center" - a recumbent bike, a crappy elliptical, and a crappy treadmill. This Hampton Inn is relatively new (opened in the last 10 years, that is), so it was nicer than many I have stayed at in the past that were a little older and more run-down. The rooms are large and clean, with nice linens. Beds are just okay-- You might be a little stiff when you get up in the morning if you have back issues like I do, but it was nothing that a little stretching didn't cure. Only issue here was that the room had an odd smell, like maybe it had been smoked in. Others I traveled with had the same complaint. I travel all the time so I keep air freshener in my suitcase for just such an issue. HOWEVER, others might find this much more bothersome than I did. The front desk staff was very pleasant at check-in and when helping to recommend a restaurant for dinner. They also would greet you when you entered and tell you to "have a nice day!" as you left in the morning. Housekeeping also did a wonderful job. At first they didn't replace the makeup wipe in the bathroom, but the next day I left a note asking for another and they left me two that day, which made me happy. Breakfast was totally serviceable. I just grabbed oatmeal in a to-go bowl each day (nice that they have the bowls with lids to grab and go!). One day the oatmeal had just been refilled and the lady let me know to microwave it for just a bit --so I didn't walk out with half-cooked oatmeal! They also provide snacks during the day-- popcorn and cookies and such. As a Diamond member with Hilton Honors, I was offered a soda when I checked in, which I said I would like, but after he handed me my key, the clerk just went on to the next customer. So I didn't bother asking for it again. Not a big deal. Fitness room looked to be in nice shape. Was too cold for the pool this trip, didn't check that out. Parking was not a problem-- didn't have to walk to far to or from the car at any point. I think the only issue might be the price. This Hampton Inn was priced higher than what I would consider average. For that reason specifically, I don't know that I would choose to stay here if it wasn't the hotel my company chose. read more

Check in for the hotel is 3pm. Got here today 11/23/2014. Not HAPPY with this hotel. There is nobody in the hotel but yet our rooms are not done. Pick the Fairfield inn right next door. Can't blame the girls first day. Blame the cleaners for not having the rooms ready and for the attitude they give you because you get your key and walk to the room but your room isn't clean and they tell you to go back and ask the girl at the front desk. Just clean the room and don't give attitude. Then they tell me that my room is done. I waited 5 more minutes and got up to get my key only to be told that my room wasn't cleaned yet. JD the front desk associate is excellent at her job. Welcoming and that's the reason I remain a Hilton Honors member. I stay at the Hamptons because it's like being at home and the rooms are always clean, beds are super comfortable, sheets are always crisp and clean. Traveling nation wide as I do I unfortunately don't have the luxuries of a comfortable bed such as what's provided at the Hamptons and sister hotels. Very good Hampton Inn. This chain is our hotel of choice, so we see a lot of them. This is the only one that had snack food set out for weary travelers arriving late. It was a nice assortment too: chex mix, peanut M & Ms and popcorn. They also gave us a can of pop at check-in even though we haven't made it to gold status yet. The room was spacious, especially compared to the next Hampton Inn we stayed at, in LA. I slept well in the immaculately clean room and comfortable bed. At the free breakfast buffet, they had pleasant messages written on the banana skins! The lady maintaining the buffet was super nice as well. read more

We travel for business and pleasure frequently and often chose Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Double Tree Suites for our stays. We are Hilton Honors members and have been loyal to the brand for many years. The last time we walked into a Hampton Inn, we walked out after the odor in the room, general appearance of the property and poor customer service gave us no other choice. Last night would've been the same situation if we had not been traveling all day and too exhausted to pack the car up again and go elsewhere. We were not even offered a bottle of water at check in! From the awful odor in the room, run down appearance and the lukewarm water for tea, I knew this property was not up to Hilton Standards. The p-tac unit was so loud that we couldn't use it for heat or air. The towels and sheets were stiff and scratchy and front desk agent didn't even greet us in the morning or acknowledge us at all! Cold oatmeal and AGAIN luke warm water for tea at breakfast, I was ever so annoyed that these properties that continue to damage the Hilton name! We are done with you Hilton and I mean it this time! This property and brand has definitely seen better days! read more

The rooms were very nice. My problem is I was quoted one price for my 4 night stay and charged another. I spoke with the evening clerk and extended my stay. The next day they had no record of it. When I spoke with the GM she was very RUDE and VERY unprofessional. I had to change rooms since she said my current room was booked by someone online and she couldn't change that. The price also more than doubled. I have filed a complaint with their corporate office regarding the 100% guarantee. read more
