01/06/2025 After reading the reviews, I was worried that I'd have a bad experience at this hotel, but I did NOT! Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome by Samantha. Check-in was fast and simple. I've never experienced this even at the hotels where I'm a regular. Because of the reviews, I thoroughly inspected my room and didn't find any evidence of insects nor bad smells. I even removed the linen to inspect the mattress. My room and the hotel smelled clean. My room was very clean and although it was freezing outside, I couldn't tell because the room was warm without turning on the heater. Instead, I slept with the AC on. The mattress was extremely comfortable, the pillows were just right, and I got the best sleep I've had in months. The curtains are definitely blackout, major plus! The property was very peaceful. The room is equipped with everything you need for a short term or long term stay. The room has two desk, one that rolls so you're free to position yourself wherever you'd like to work, research, or play games etc. There's nothing like a shower with hot water, most have lukewarm warm if that! The only thing I'd change is the position of the tv. I suggest mounting it on the wall or moving the tv and dresser to the center of the wall. I didn't eat breakfast but it smelled and looked good. Everything went right with my stay, and I'll definitely make another reservation here again. Before leaving, I also gave a positive review to the manager, Lacey. I picked this place out based on the reviews. In town for just one night and needed a good place to get some rest after driving in from Fort Worth, then training the next morning. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the nice breakfast offering. read more

Upon arrival to check into my hotel room, there was a sign at the front desk that said, "the staff had stepped away to assist another guest, but would return shortly". Well after waiting over two hours, no one ever returned. I had to try to find another hotel. Pay more money. And pay for another Uber ride to get to another hotel. How does this happen? How is there no backup employees? I called Marriott and they couldn't help either. Just poor service all around from Marriott. read more

Horrible experience. I arrived late after a long day and was told that despite my having a reservation, which had been booked for weeks, they had given my room to someone else and offered absolutely no alternatives or compensation. They tried to tell me that it was because other guests had higher Marriott status, but I know that was not true as a colleague of mine, with no Marriott status, was given his room, even though he had just booked it days before, well after I booked mine. I did not learn about the overbooking until I arrived at the hotel late at night with no ride or any place to stay - they could have called me or emailed me at least so I could have made other arrangements. I understand the hotels sometimes overbook. But in that event, the guest should be offered a place to stay at another Marriott property. This hotel basically told me to pound sand - they had nothing else lined up and no way for me to get to another place to stay. Luckily, there was another hotel with availability, so I had to walk about a mile with all my luggage to get a roof over my head for the night. The staff was unhelpful, dishonest, rude, and incompetent. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! NOT MARRIOTT QUALITY, more like a motel. The computers were down to check in, and we had to wait for 30 minutes. Hubby and I checked in and went to our room. The toilet didn't flush, so we had to ask to be moved. We moved to the room across the hall. Everything seemed to be clean. We took a shower the next morning and saw how they tried to cover all the nasty mold with the trash can. This is disgusting and unsafe. No wonder my asthma was triggered while sleeping. So I can't say enough good things about this place. I guess it's under new management so they were working out a few kinks... Lori and Anita were amazing at making up for where their hotels screwed up. Which I did have a few issues but nothing worth mentioning because they did their best to make up for it, even comped us $20 off our second night because their pool wasn't warm like advertised, they did their best but it just didn't warm up fast enough and the next day weather wasn't good enough to use it. I wish that had been more available to use seeing how that was a priority for our stay. We got to try for an hour but just too cold of water to really enjoy, and it was plenty hot enough outside so I do appreciate that not only was their pool actually open this time of year (many places in Texas this isn't the case even though it's 80 degrees out) but that they really tried to fix it before we left, it just didn't happen in time, but not their fault I would just recommend feeling the pool right when you get there so if it isn't warm, it has time to warm up. (Obviously this will depend on time of year) we stayed in the beginning of April. Doing my laundry a bird actually got through the vents into the room, it was insane felt like twilight zone but I was so impressed with Lori getting right on it and trying to handle it herself, I would have called someone. Dryers did work good, but I think they are fixing it. They said they had new management and that's why these little things were being fixed. I'm certain if we came back another time we wouldn't have so many problems. We didn't get to use the BBQ outside because we happened to pick the one week they were replacing it. One morning there was no eggs at breakfast because their order never came which sucked but all the other days it was real eggs! Which is so nice compared to nasty fake ones most places use. Place is beyond clean!! Smells great!! Quiet!! Price was def worth it!! Well the doors are a bit loud when shut but you can't hear through the walls like most places. All the staff was very friendly. I especially appreciated the cook. She worked non stop making sure the breakfast tasted fresh and was stocked. Cleaning non stop! I loved that!! I would definitely come back! read more

1st visit to this location. Excellent Marriott property. Glad to have the cart to bring in our luggage made it very convenient. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is very nice. We also liked the breakfast in the lobby in the morning. Wonderful place to stay while visiting relatives in the area during Christmas 2017. read more

My first review of Odessa, Texas! I'm not sure that I'll ever be passing through Odessa again, but if I had the chance I would stay here again. This hotel is definitely new, and it's in great shape! Things to love about this place: 1) Kitchenette included- complete with full size fridge and all the dishes you could need 2) 24 hour gym with treadmills, elliptical, bike, and weights. Several of the cardio machines have built in TVs with headphones. Definitely a nice touch. 3) Heated pool. I know you're thinking who needs a heated pool in Texas? Well, it looked beautiful, but I thought it was too cold to go swimming (there were freeze warnings that night!). However, right by the pool area is an outdoor fireplace you cat sit by, for some winter fun! 4) The bathroom: this is the area that I find to be more pertinent when evaluating a hotel. It was clean, and well maintained. The tiled shower was really really nice. The countertop was a nice material- perhaps granite? They include a hair dryer, but instead of putting it on the wall like tacky places, they discretely place it in a drawer. 5) If you need it- this hotel has rooms equipped for the hearing impaired. I saw many of them, because they have the light-triggered doorbells outside the door. Nice to see that they're making it accessible for more people. Hands down, if you are staying in Odessa, I encourage you to stay here. read more

This is a good hotel if you find yourself in Odessa. It's clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly. They provide many comfortable seating areas which is nice when you don't want to stay in your room. The free breakfast has a huge variety from artery clogging choices like sausage and eggs to waffles, muffins, oatmeal, you name it. The nightly reception with free beer and wine can be enough to call dinner. Although watching other guests gorge themselves can be a turnoff. The 24 hour gym has good equipment: cardio, weights, yoga balls, and the area is a nice size. The rooms are very comfortable. You get a full size fridge and kitchenette. The TV is small for the size of the room. The wifi was easy to set up and use. But most importantly, the bathroom was clean. The hotel is conveniently located by the mall and plenty of restaurants. I will probably stay here when I am back in Odessa. read more

Every once in a while, there are challenges to our travel plans. My 75 minute flight turned into and 8 hour drive. I called the front desk with TownePlace to update and confirm my planned arrival early in the morning. Everything thin was looking good for "Plan B". I called the hotel 60 minutes out to update and found that my reservation was cancelled and they were full. Slightly tired and frustrated, I listened to the lady at the front desk explain the situation and tell me she will get it worked out. She told me to come in at 8:00 am and she will get me in a room. I checked in at 8:10 and the lady from the front desk had cleaned a room for me. She had got my reservation back on line and I am good to go. My appreciation goes out to the staff of the TownePlace. They speak of their customer appreciation efforts, but this morning I felt it. I have not had a bad stay at this hotel ....on a rare occassion a loud neighbor. Thank you again. read more

Staying here for business for 3 weeks. Last night the cable TV went out followed shortly by the internet connection. I called the front desk and Jill said that the technicians were working on it. Well it's been 24 hours and those technicians have been working awfully hard and still no cable TV. There was a hockey game I wanted to see too! I am pissed. Thankfully the internet is working. Does Marriott think that Jill acted appropriately in lying to the customer that someone was working on the situation when they were not. Is that considered to be good customer service? I am not staying at another Marriott again. They could care less about the customer. Furthermore, the breakfast here was pretty pathetic. The fried eggs were concentric circles-- obviously microwaved and looked inedible--on several occasions. The positives: good maid service, NBC Sports network. read more

This TownePlace just didn't seem as updated as others that I have stayed in. It also didn't have that "suite" feeling, as the kitchen is just in the entryway and not sectioned off. It is still nice to have a kitchen, but I was just expecting a more spacious room. The TV channels were pretty basic, a lot of news, history, etc. The side of the hotel that I was on had a clear view of the Wienerschnitzel drive thru so it felt akward if the blinds were open. The breakfast buffet was actually pretty good with scrambled eggs, yogurts, and bagels. Overall I would stay here again, but have preferred some other properties in the area. read more

It's Odessa Fancy. Tiny room, smaller than most non-suite hotel rooms for almost $400 a night. I understand that's the going rate when the oil field is booming but invest some of that into your establishment. TV was in a weird spot off to one side by the bathroom door blocking the thermostat. Sliding glass doors on the lobby got stuck and locked us outside several times, breakfast was old and cold by 8:00 am, only one of 3 room keys worked. We got stuck in a room overlooking the pool that doubles as the chain smoking, beer drinking, guitar playing lounge for the oil field crowd and their wives until almost midnight. read more

For starters, everything was great. The rooms were some of the nicest I've personally found in hotels. Very clean. Nice air conditioning. Comfy bed. But (hope I'm remembering/spelling her name right) Johnnie alone was worth the price of staying. She was an absolute gem and provided some of the best service I've ever had! Sparing the details, she didn't hesitate to go above and beyond to help us with an small issue that eventually turned out to be a false alarm... And she did this all at 3AM. She was the sweetest and you'll be lucky if you happen to stay a night she's on the clock! read more

Nice place, ample parking for my truck and trailer. Front desk lady was really nice and friendly, room is clean and modernized, bed is good. No complaints nice stay. The firplace on the patio was a nice feature, it was kind of cold out tonight and I wanted a cigarette and it was nice and toasty by the fire. The workout room was clean and the machines are newer and good condition. read more

The hotel rooms inside are great, but the website does not make it easily clear that there was a $100 pet fee (non-refundable.) They should add it to the main page next to where it says "Pet Friendly," and add it to the checkout page as well letting you know there is a pet fee. The woman that checked us in mentioned she would be able to waive it, but the manager, Santos, this morning checked us out and added it right back on. read more

This hotel has been one of my favorites on a cross country trip. They put out a free buffet complete with pitchers of beer in the middle of the day.... sounds to good to be true but it happened. They also have a great outdoor grilling area with a bigscreen tv that my friends and I took complete advantage of. This hotel was an example of southern hospitality and I would definitely go back. read more

This hotel is more than wonderful! We had about 15 guests for a funeral and they accommodated us all. We were allowed to use the conference room for our food gathering. Sophia and Erika were great hosts and in our time of grief we did not have to worry about anything. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the free breakfast was excellent. read more

New, Extremely clean and well maintained, excellent customer services, good size rooms with kitchens, and a full hot breakfast buffet and dinner that is better than a Residence Inn. Not only is this one of the best hotels around, but it is probably the best TownePlace suites in America. Only negative is slow wifi that frequently cuts out. read more

Towneplace lite is how I'd describe this hotel. Generally very nice, and the staff is great, but coming from a proper Towneplace this place is under par. Biggest negatives are: - Windows don't open - Dunno if it is the official fragrance or not, but the room smelled like subtle old-spice. And since you can't open the windows...tough to get away from. And more chemical sprays are not the answer. - Greenwashing happening with their flowery, feel-good note about the environment in the room, but there are no recycling containers in the room as claimed. Not even sure this is possible in Odessa. - The kitchen knives were so dull that even with a serrated blade I could not cut into an orange. That's impressively bad. - Internet was weak, even with the upgraded "platinum" service simply streaming music didn't work so well. Plus I think I got charged one day for it despite my status. - No desk organizer like in the other Towneplaces, and no closet organizer either. - The windows don't open. Such a bummer. So very frustrating. It was quiet in the back, though, and the staff again was great. The morning gal even bought us bananas on her own dime. Also could walk to a restaurant or two, and in the nice, modern lobby the TV is not perpetually tuned to Fox news with the volume up. A nice change from many midwest hotels. read more

So it's been a while writing my reviews so work with me . This last Tuesday we went to a hotel... book it.. suggested . By the way if you stay so many nite you get one for so try it for those who travel as much as me. We arrived in Odessa at 12am earlier that day, but had business to attend to so afterward we decided it was time to straight crash out the only problem was the check in for most places were at 3 so dreading life know that kinda just ruined my whole thought process especially considering I just drove 8 hrs non stop from Oklahoma. And yah I'm a beast ... but I had a lunch meeting at 12.30 desperate need for shower and makeup ... girls... so we called to beg for mercy and the ladies working amazing . Yah come on in they said when we got there fresh lemon water and fresh orange water ... the ladies were so polite and helpful . Such a blessing to have after all the driving and hooray. Next morning 4am my back had started locking up standing. So we grab our stuff to hit the road and the lady at the front was so generous that she offer us a free pillow to go . I will definitely be returning. Thank you ladies for the grand stay. read more

This was our first time passing through Odessa. The hotel was comfortable and in good shape. Several of the washers in the laundry room were not clean. The kitchenette included plenty of dishes and flatware for one night, but larger utensils were lacking. To save space, they put the paper towel holder under the sink, and you have to brush by the waste basket and the garbage disposal to get to them - a little less than sanitary, if you use the paper towels in food prep. We removed the roll of paper towels and set it on the counter while we were there. The bed would have been comfortable, but the sheets were too small and didn't stay tucked in, and the mattress pad moved and wadded up every time I rolled over. Had to get up a couple of times during the night to fix the sheets. And the bed was so close to the wall that there was barely enough room to squeeze into one side of the bed. I've had better rooms in other Towne Place Suites for half the price. The fitness center was great! read more
