Note that we ONLY stay at Hilton properties, but this hotel is a tear-down in a bad part of town. First clue was the sign in the parking lot that says "not responsible for damage to vehicles". Hallways are narrow and creepy, carpet is dated, lobby is extremely small. We took a quick peek in our room - the bedspread was torn down the middle, and it looked like a motel 6 from the 1990s. We turned around, got our money back, left and stayed at newer property on the better side of town. We simply did not feel safe. This property is a dump and not worthy of the Hilton name. read more

I wish I would have read the Tripadvisor reviews before booking this place! I have a lot of points as a Diamond member and went with the cheapest one; now I know why. I arrived a little before check-in (around 1:30pm). Front desk attendant said it would be another 45 min before my king room was ready. Ok, fair enough. I sat in the lobby and just chilled...until 3pm, when I asked if the room was ready, and they said, "no probably another hour" unless you want a double queen room on the third floor in an odd-number instead of the first floor in an even-numbered room. Fine. I needed to get to work so I accepted. Bad move. As someone noted, there is a car garage behind the hotel. I think I slept a total of 12 hours over three days, as there was constant traffic and banging around over there. The bathroom had a number of long black hairs in the bathtub back by the shower curtain. I'm blonde with short hair . . . the sink didn't drain, the carpet is worn, but that wasn't from vacuuming, because I dropped something and it came up covered in . . . long black hair. Gross. The beds are bouncy and uncomfortable, the TV is outdated (no streaming), and breakfast is a joke. Clearly they're trying to save money: the hot food must be distributed by the breakfast attendant (who was very nice and friendly!) which I haven't seen since COVID. Minimal selection, stuff wasn't refilled, so I ate basically nothing from it other than a cup of juice. Not the quality I'd expect from a Hilton. read more

Hilton Diamond member- "I've stayed at Hampton Inns before". First room, 2nd floor, bathtub/shower- wouldn't wash a dog in it. Looks like at some point in its past it had been painted, and was peeling badly. Bad rust stains on overflow and drain. Front Desk was apologetic, but couldn't assign another room on 2nd floor. Empty parking lot- only car here is mine- assume a number of reservations for the evening, they certainly are not at the hotel now. New room on 1st floor. Handicap room. Again, tub/shower are an issue, but not as bad as the other room. Quite noisy, road noise, occupant above has a heavy walk- guess there is at least one other person in the hotel. Lobby and first floor hallway appear to be undergoing remodel- should have concentrated on the rooms first. Alway been proud of my Hilton status, embarrassed today. Seems to be a general trend with Hampton, as my last few stays have all been less than what I had become accustomed to. Hope they can pull it back together. read more

Nice facilities, nothing wrong with the room, and everything was clean. I'd stay there again to earn the points, but just a couple of notes: The room seems a little smaller than other Hampton Inns, and also appears a little dated - see pix. not sure what decade the red wall paint and curtains came out of - but I can deal with it. I'm just there to sleep after all There's a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker included in each room. Clean indoor pool, clean fitness center, and everything else was clean too. Here's a nice touch that I haven't seen at another Hampton Inn. The front desk texted me about 45 minutes after I checked in to ask if everything was ok with my room. This little bit of customer service goes a long way. Kelly was the front desk clerk when I checked in and the one who texted me. She was very helpful and very friendly. I hope your boss is reading this Kelly! Like most Hampton Inns, you are going to hear your upstairs neighbors trouncing around on the floor with their heavy footsteps, so request a top floor room (it's just the way the Hampton Inns are built folks). Also, ask for a room on the opposite side of the building from the iHOP next door. The iHOP dumpsters are picked up at "Oh-My-God-Thirty" each morning and they make a lot of racket! If you've stayed in one Hampton Inn, you know that all of them offer "pre-made" omelets on their morning breakfast buffets. This is just not right, and I will never rest until these "pre-made" omelets are eliminated. They have a couple of other options, but there is just something ungodly about pre-made buffet omelettes. If you haven't experienced them first hand, you absolutely MUST! They will rock your world - in a weird way. read more

There was a good wait at the desk the first time we came prompting us to leave and stay at another hotel. We came back the next night to try again. Initially and the second trip there was a foul odor not sure what it was mainly in the common areas. The pool had visible rust in some areas and the rooms were ok the a/c must be left below 60 to come on at night. The breakfast was not too good, however the lady serving was nice and attentive. read more

This is an older hotel and feels like it. Floors are uneven and creaky. The automatic entrance doors don't work automatically. There's a sign on the door to 'push the doors apart to open and push together to close.' The toilet seat won't stay in the raised position. And there's no 'pardon our mess while we remodel,' sign, this is just the way this property is maintained. I have to admit that I forgot that I stayed in this property about a year ago and it was in this condition, but I forgot about it until I arrived. Not really worthy of the Hampton or Hilton brands. This property should be sold to some mom and pop operator and the Hampton name taken off the building. read more

Can't recommend room 217 as repairs are needed in the shower area. A real shower curtain is necessary as it wicked water onto the floor. The handicap seat didn't fold back against the wall securely. Several hand rails needed attention. A bathtub isn't what I consider handicap friendly for a person with bad knees. Pros: near elevator, near ice machine on 1st floor. The a/c was working extremely well and the option to have the fan on continuously was a great white noise background. During the day, the auto biz next door was noisy but no problem at night. The black out curtains worked extremely well. There's plenty of lighting and outlets. I like Hampton's breakfast, especially the waffles. I'm not fond of kielbasa sausage for breakfast. The drink selection included juices, teas, hot cocoa, coffees etc. read more

I stayed here for a week long business trip last month. I have grown to really enjoy Hamptons for my business travel. Free hot breakfast every morning, clean rooms, and friendly staff have become a regular occurrence at their properties. My room in San Angelo was very clean. Not fully modern but also not outdated. It was a very comfortable stay. I like the larger rooms many Hamptons offer with a separate sitting area for when you don't feel like sitting at a desk or on your bed. The prices are also usually very affordable. If you aren't using Hampton as your business travel mainstay -- I suggest you do so! read more

I stay here this past weekend and really enjoyed my stay here. The staffs are very attentive, nice, and friendly. Upon my arrival, they left 3 notes around the room for me, welcoming and thanking for my stay here. This is 5-star service to me. I booked the room with a single king-size bed. The bed is very comfortable and the room itself it's very clean. There's a small sofa and a desk in the room, and the bathroom is clean. They have a onsite 24 hour fitness center on the 1st floor and a pool. Breakfast is served in the lobby from 0600-1000 daily. I would stay here again if I ever come to San Angelo to visit my friend again. read more

Solid Hampton Inn that served as an overnight stop in route to Abilene. I cannot say enough good things about the people here. From check in to check out they were on top of things. Case in point: when we noticed that the TV picture wasn't that clear, we let the lady at the front desk know and they sent a maintenance person within moments. They were also able to resolve the issue in short order with no further concerns. Price was just right for the stay and location, which was a definite bonus. My wife wanted to give additional props to their coffee and hot chocolate bar which was helpful after a drive through some snowy and icy patches between Austin and the hotel. Made her day! Hotel lobby was hot and just waiting for someone to show up we were sweating. Room smelled funky and very muggy. smoke director hanging off the ceiling. Multiple bugs come out of the uncapped sprinkler in the bathroom. Toilet seat was so loose every time we sat down it would slide quickly to a side. Shower floor felt gritty and tile cracked in multiple areas. Handful of channels didn't work and just kept freezing up. Night stand drawer wouldn't stay closed and charging port on table didn't work when we plugged out USB cords in. Pool was small with multiple rusted areas as well. Breakfast area was so hot just sitting to eat we were sweating. Horrible would never go again. read more

I don't know how people would dislike this place at all. The service was beyond my expectation. Everything was so clean, hip and attentive. The employees were always smiling and helpful even with small requests. I felt welcomed in the moment that I walked in. They really treat you like their own guest and make sure you have a wonderful stay. I travel a lot for business and this place made it feel like home. Not too many people so that I was able to enjoy the swimming pool and fitness center without too much disturbance. I will definitely come back again if I'm in town. read more

We had a marvelous stay here, during a road trip to NM. Using Yelp, this seemed like the only reasonable choice and while I hated to pay $129 for a sleepover it was well worth it. The lady at the front desk was super friendly, and though we didn't avail ourselves of the pool or hot tub, both were nice and looked inviting. The room was large, spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfy. Neutrogena toiletries were a pleasant surprise as was the nicely appointed bathroom. The shower head was fantastic, prompting the man to say we needed one like it. The wall thermostat had a constant fan option which is awesome and provided the white noise i needed to rest well. And breakfast (free) was fantastic. Great coffee, eggs, biscuits (good biscuits!) gravy, fresh fruit, yogurts, waffles, juices--really good food. We were looking for a nice place to rest and relax and that's what we got at the Hampton Inn. The bed and pillows were wonderfully comfy , so comfy I slept in and a little later than I should have. The shower has the massaging shower head which was nice for your tight muscles on your neck and back. The breakfast selection was nice and a little different than the other continental breakfasts. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone for their comfort, their polite staff and their continental breakfast. read more

This is a new facility and is beautiful. I was amazed by the staff. How often do hotel staff actually acknowledge you unless it is job related. The guy at the front desk made me fee at home immediately. A young lady, who I presume was cleaning rooms said hello in the hall. Linda, who works in the dining room offered any help she could give. Bottom Line: It's fine but I won't be staying here again. First the positives. The room was fine. Bed was comfortable, shower had hot water generally, hotel was quiet. The staff was friendly and htere were cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. If you just want a place to sleep for a night or two, it's fine. Negatives: Breakfast is just ok, and is from 6-10. I stayed here for two weeks including one weekend, and when I went down at 715 or so it was fine, but on the weekends at 9:30, some food was out and not replace, and what was still there was cold and inedible. Once at 6:15 not everything was out yet. The vending machine is broken and the sundry is very limited. The room cleaning didn't vacuum, and often forgot to leave shampoo (even though I was clearly out. I only had them clean my room every other day). There is no laundry available, even for pay, so good luck with that, because you'll have to go somewhere else in town to do laundry. Lastly, and most frustrating of all if you stay more than one day. You have to sign into wi-fi multiple times per day. Even though you have to put in your hilton account, password, and room number (or just name and room number depending) everytime, and you'd think there was a better way, you still have to do it twice every single day on every device. It's so mind numbingly stupid and irritating, that after two weeks I can't stand it anymore . I don't know why they do it that way since you generally don't come lingering around a hotel for wi-fi and you do generally stay for longer than 12 hours, but it's so grating. I stayed in a hilton property last year for a month, and it was the same thing. If all the above things weren't enough, this was the final straw. I'm not a hotel reviewer, this is the first time I've ever written one, and I'm aware that all of the negatives I've listed are minor, but they really do add up to an overall negative experience. If you need a place to sleep, by all means stay here. But I found that staying longer, it was just not up to par with competitors in this (not cheap for San Angelo) price range. Stayed there in April of 2018 , this place is in terrible shape , the first room was filthy so they moved us to another room and that room was ok but the spigot flew off the shower and hit the back wall while my husband was taking a shower . Then he had to dry off and go down to front desk and request the maintenance person to come up and fix it before he could finish his shower , showed her a couple other things that were broken and shower curtain had mold growing on the bottom - this place is a terrible representation of most Hampton Inns ! Keep in mind that this rating is within the context of a Hampton Inn being a self-serve hotel. It was clean and quiet. The bed was not so comfortable, but then usually they aren't. The staff was friendly and made sure I was ok. The most annoying thing about my stay was that the wireless internet connection was soooooooo slooooooooooow. The reason I will choose a Hampton Inn over the others in that price range is that I have accumulated a number of Hilton Honors points, and they accumulate pretty quickly into legitimate rewards. The reason I would choose a Hampton over a more expensive hotel is that the internet is free, and they haven't subscribed to a freakishly limited TV channel selection that lets everyone know that they think the only people who travel on business are middle-aged republican men who are bankers. The room was good. It smelled good and was clean. The bed was comfortable. But I am sick to death of hotel rooms with laggy WiFi. Seriously, how hard is it to get good WiFi. I stay in a decent amount of hotels and I've yet to have one with good WiFi. This is three stars because of that and also because I checked in early and was supposed to have a digital key delivered but instead I had to check in at the front desk and show my credentials and credit card even though all of this was in the system. read more

Two stars because it's across the parking lot from IHOP and easy access to the highway. Otherwise: it's noisy, the front desk isn't helpful, the rooms are very small and cramped, and worst yet the mace doesn't feel clean. After checking-in, the ice bucket in the room a still had water from the previous guests. The furniture is too big for the adjoining rooms to have the doors open suggesting a recent renovation that wasn't thought out. Staying here you'll hear every crying kid coming in from the indoor pool on the first floor even though we were in the third floor. There's no way to emphasize enough how noisy and loud this place is. Late checkout request got us an extra 20 minutes from 11:00 am to 11:20 am. Skip this place. There's gotta be something better. read more

I want to thank Jennifer for going above and beyond, she needs a raise! Their were about 20 of us staying from Thurs to Sunday for my son's wedding in Christoval. We had 14 adults and 6 kids. I had asked if we could all be on the same floor. She went way out of her way to make that happen which was so very nice, the kids were able to go from room to room with no worries. It really could not of been any better. The breakfast was good, rooms were clean, we ordered pizza for lunch one day eating it in the dinning area, the staff supplied us with paper plates, forks, napkins. We all really enjoyed out stay. I stayed at the Hampton Inn last weekend while in town for my cousin's graduation. When I knew I needed to book a hotel for this weekend, I just automatically booked at the Hampton because I have always had good experience with the chain and I was not sure what else was available in San Angelo, as this was my first time in town. I woudl not stay here again if I was to return. First off, there are closer hotels to campus. I could have stayed at the Fairfield or the Staybridge Suites. Second, this hotel has not been updated. It is an older Hampton and while the linens are new, the rest of the hotel is just kinda outdated. The bed was fine. The bathroom was small. Did it do the trick of giving us a place to sleep for the night, yes, but I have seen nicer hotels for the same price. Speaking of price, I should have found a better deal. We paid $199, which was defnitely up there for the quality and location. Hamptons are known for their breaksfast in the morning. Most of the food was cold and I just had a few bites to fill me up. Did I expect the best at the Hampton Inn San Angelo? No, but for the price I paid I feel like it should have been a little nicer. read more

My issue was we spent 150.00$ just to let our kids swim, kind of a little weekend getaway, as we were headed that way , there's a sign saying " pool & spa is closed " which was kind of weird because our kids had just swam a few ours before that but got to take a break !!
