It is a very nice property one building off the charming St Albans town square steps away from restaurants, coffee shops. Maybe that's why there isn't a microwave in each room. The microwave is communal at the elevator foyer of each floor. The power comes on only if the room key (or a similarly sized card perhaps) is inserted into a slot near the door. I have only seen this in foreign countries before but I like the idea. The little convenience shop by the front desk sells beer which is an idea I like even better read more

We were driving back from Canada when a snowstorm hit and the roads got sloppy real quick. I was able to find the Hampton Inn in St Albans quickly on my phone, and we pulled off the highway for a welcome and warm respite from the snow. Bonus- there is a covered garage behind the hotel ($3, but worth it) so we didn't even have to clean the snow off the car the next morning. Other than it being a clean and warm stop for the night, it's pretty much a regular Hampton Inn...convenient, good breakfast (they also had seasonal pumpkin waffle batter for make-your-own waffles), and it was conveniently located a few minutes from I-89. read more

Horrible dirty hotel, small TV like the size of my daughter's dorm room. No access to Netflix or any streaming devise. Front desk check in was not a great experience stuck in this town had to stay at this property. Basically, reminds me why I am loyal to Marrott. Old towels and beds the accept pets with a deposit, and don't clean the rooms after 1st room check in smelled like wet dog. Breakfast was less than desirable they have the low budget offerings from their supplier assuming Sysco foods. You get what you pay for. read more

Very nice accommodations downtown close to a wonderful restaurant that we visited that's farm to table! The only reason for three instead of five stars is the fact that there is mold around the top of the bathroom all around Hotels have decided to take the exhaust fan out of the bathroom ! There's a reason there's been an exhaust fan in bathrooms for years and that is because of excess moisture which causes mold Other than that thus hotel was comfortable lovely and very convenient! I would like to suggest that breakfast warm/hot would have more pescatarian options ! Thank you everyone for a nice stay! They converted an old downtown building to make this Hampton Inn. The feel is very European with the floating bedside tables and the power key. The odd thing is the sliding barn door that covers the closet when opened and the bathroom when closed. Convenient parking garage behind the hotel and the hotel validates parking so it is free. Nice bright breakfast area and lobby and a small indoor pool rounds out the hotel. For a new hotel the staff is well trained and very attentive. read more

We stayed here this week while visiting family. The hotel was nice. Parking was interesting because it is available in the garage behind the hotel. The website isn't exactly clear about it, but upon calling for information we learned what we needed to know. It is $3/day using the ticket system and validating it at the desk. Then you put the ticket in the machine when leaving. Parking is charged at checkout as part of your bill, but can also be paid in cash. Hotel staff was always pleasant. The room was nice and a portable crib was provided as requested, with no additional fee. A unique feature was having to keep a room key in a slot on the wall near the door for power to remain on in the room. For those who lose keys or lose track of them it's helpful. Breakfast was good. Eggs, waffle station, fruit, smoothies, etc. The mini waffle maker was quite a pain but that could have been user error. It would be good if they had a spray to keep the waffles from sticking. The indoor pool was a nice bonus. It appears to be rarely used and clean. It was nice and warm for some fun water time with my five month old. read more

Sha-booms has never looked better. It's your typical Hampton Inn, but this one is brand new. The pool is indoor & heated, the gym looked typical. The rooms are very nice. There wasn't a dresser in my room, just a closet. The shower is good, but it's a walk-in, no tub. The front desk folks are great. The location is walking distance to almost everything in downtown Saint A. I'd definitely stay again. read more

Three stars at best. Rooms were clean but surprisingly small and when you factor in the $300 cost for a night it's just not enough. Crappy coffee maker that shuts off halfway through a cycle, torn lampshade, a shower curtain that doesn't reach the floor or reach from side to side of the shower. Ice cold coffee in the lobby and no microwave in the room to even warm it up. It's not the cost of the room, it's just even close to worth tat amount of money. read more

I returned to St. Albans for the first time in several years and was pleasantly surprised to see the revitalization of downtown. In particular, the addition of the Hampton Inn on Lake Street offers quality accommodations within walking distance of shopping and most restaurants. The rooms are large and very clean with very comfortable beds. The entire staff is very accommodating and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The front desk staff go over and beyond to make sure the guests are taken care of. Autumn, Monica and Jim were loaded with local info and suggestions. Judy Luneau, Director of Sales, was often in the front lobby greeting guests and making sure all their needs were met - a very classy, nice lady. It was truly an outstanding and enjoyable stay and I will definitely return. read more

The hotel is nice and has decent amenities but the staff is awful. There was a cleaning lady who didn't like that the temperature in the fitness room had been turned down to a reasonable 67 and the next day I caught her setting a timer so the room would be a sweltering 76! What an awful spiteful person! There was another cleaning lady who told me she couldn't clean the room with me in it! I was working remotely, so you're saying I can't get fresh sheets or towels because I'm working! Needless to say that is not the policy. Although I'm not really sure since I called the corporate office to ask about corporate policies and since he didn't know, he called the hotel and asked the manager on duty! This was a terrible experience and I'm a frequent traveler! I almost would prefer a hotel that's not as well kept but the staff is polite and accommodating! read more

I give this rating ZERO STARS even though it won't let me. My husband and I stayed at this Hampton Inn over the weekend for a honeymoon. We were told you needed a credit card to HOLD the room as we would be paying in cash on Sunday, when we left. When we got into the room on Friday night, I removed the comforter from the bed, there was a yellow stain at the top of the flat sheet and there was hair all over it. I removed the flat sheet as you could tell it had not been washed. I was very disappointed in this company that my husband and I had both worked for years ago. At about 2:30 in the morning we were woken up by yelling, screaming and hammering, which continued until the early morning hours. I proceeded to go to the front desk to address the issue. The very nice clerk down stairs, went upstairs in the elevator to the room above us to address the issue, it still continued until around 4:30 to 5:00 am, so neither of us got any sleep that evening. Saturday night we both we're exhausted and in bed by 7 pm, at around 8pm or 8:30 we could hear loud running around above us, and at this point, we were both very upset in our supposed, honeymoon get away weekend. I called the front desk and asked them to please ask the people above us to quiet down as we both needed a good night's rest. That issue was handled swiftly. Sunday when we went to check out, Maureen, the general manager took half of our room rate for Friday off the bill however when we booked the room Friday, we both we're told the card was only to hold the room and no charge would be made on that card. Well not only was the card charged on Friday, they also took our cash on Sunday. I reached out today, nine days after our stay, and the card was charged for $322.00 but the $50.00 deposit fee for damages was returned on that Monday. So today Maureen, the GM, straight up accused me of smoking in the room. I never smoked in that room! St Albans was in the middle of a nor'easter that weekend and I went out side by the parking garage to smoke. I had left the property three times to have a cigarette and when I came back in, I placed my cigarette butt in the black canister outside the entrance. They have video cameras out there that would show me smoking outside! So this GM not only accused me of smoking inside the room but left the $322.00 charge minus the $50.00 deposit for damages which was removed the Monday after we left. So if there was damages, then why did you all remove the $50.00 deposit off the card. That is a scam! I was NEVER notified that my husband and I were being accused of doing something wrong and not being refunded the money that was NEVER supposed to be charged on that card to begin with. My husband and I were completely disrespected by this companies actions and lies. They told us one thing and did the complete opposite. And when I confronted the GM nine days later, I'm accused of doing something I never did and I was penalized for it, instead of contacting me and asking, I was just made guilty and paid for it anyways. This company needs to understand that cigarette smoke lingers on clothes and just because the room had that lingering smell DOES NOT MAKE A GUEST AUTOMATICALLY GUILTY OF BREAKING RULES THAT ARE IN PLACE! Again both of us worked for this company and to be treated with such disrespect and disregard, is horrific! I, and my husband, in NO WAY deserve this treatment from a company that is supposed to be one of the best on this planet. I will say to anyone looking to stay in this hotel, be very cautious and careful of your amounts, fees, and credit charges as this was not handled as was expressed to us from the beginning. Companies want credit cards to hold a reservation, which is fine, but when you make it clear you are paying in cash and the card is still charged, that is illegal, and when you make a compliment and you are being made guilty for an action you never did, that is retaliation. In no way were either my husband and I contacted by the GM, Maureen at this hotel, we were just accused and charged without ANY contact or questions in regards to our stay, again, that is illegal. My husband and I both feel like we were treated so rudely and disrespectfully for our complaints during our stay and these actions are retaliation. That is truly a sad world we live in when we are treated so horrifically and made guilty without any knowledge of this or in questioning our stay there. We stayed for one night here because of the great location. Loved the decor and friendly staff. However street noise in our room which overlooked Lake St was considerable. No noise reducing windows here. And at 3:00 a.m we were awoken by clomping upstairs in the room over us. Apparently the ceilings aren't insulated which is too bad because people pay for a room so they can get some sleep. So sound deafening steps of all kinds should be a priority. Otherwise our stay was fine. Everything was clean and well maintained. If we come back we will ask for a room on the back side to avoid the street noise. read more

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Had a wonderful experience! We were greeted by Autumn, at the front desk who was incredible, the entire time. Always conversational, great with the kids, and extremely courteous. Consider yourself lucky if you stay on a day that she is working. The pool is well maintained and not too cold or too warm. The rooms are very nice and the beds comfortable. The entire building is very clean and taken care of. Overall a very nice place to stay if you're in the area! read more
