NICE PLACE TO STAY IN WATERTOWN, NEW YORK ========================================= Note to myself to always confirm hotel reservations, especially when my husband makes them. We arrived Thursday, November around 5:00 p.m. and we were supposed to meet a group for dinner. They had no record of our Expedia reservation and said that our reservation had been cancelled. This was not the case as my husband just changed it to add one day at the beginning and taking off one day at the end. After sitting in the lobby for about thirty minutes they let us check in until everything got ironed out with Expedia. The room was nice and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. It helps having free breakfast and coffee all day long too. I'd definitely stay there again. read more

They only turndown the room every 3 days, ok thats fine but i asked specifically for it to be done at the front desk the morning of the 3rd day (because this has happened multiple times) and upon arriving back to the hotel at 6pm the room had not been touched. Twice all of our towels were taken (even though they were hung up to be reused) and not replaced. The first night here there were used towels from the last occupant still hanging on back of the bathroom door (come on now). The TV just keeps going all digitally scrambled and totally unwatchable. As with most Hiltons, the check in process was simple and efficient. The building was clean and the staff was incredible. Very friendly and efficient. A special shout out to Chris, the man that runs the breakfast in the mornings. Extremely helpful and friendly. My room had some light cleanliness issues but nothing tragic. The room was well stocked and had everything we needed. Then why a two? I have been listening to children running up and down my hallway for two days. Screaming, yelling and banging doors. It's 10:08pm as I write this and the children are running races down my hall. I'm on the ground floor. About 100 feet from the main desk and nobody is doing anything. Just watching the kids run and scream and slam doors. This has been going on for hours. It was the same last night and really bad early this morning. The staff is just ignoring it and it's really frustrating me. For this reason and this reason alone, I would choose not to stay here again. There has to be some control over blatant and obvious screaming and yelling. This was a romantic weekend for us and listing to all this noise is not romantic in the least. We are just frustrated and annoyed. The breakfast is extremely good and well paid out. The gym and pool are first rate. Now there is a dog barking and running down the hallway with the kids. The accommodations were very good. Very clean and the room was above average in size. The only complaint is with the other guests. At 5:00 am a bunch of guys decided to have a meeting in the parking lot. Speaking very loud and for about 20 minutes. No courtesy towards anyone else. read more

Hilton properties are my first choice when I travel for business. The Hampton Inn in Watertown, NY was another good experience. Arrived on a Sunday and it was my second week on the road so I needed to get some laundry done. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant and very helpful! My stay was 3 days / 2 nights and everyone on the staff (Front Desk, Janitor, Housekeeping, Maintenance) were engaging and showed concern about my satisfaction with my stay. This is one of those where I really don't want to penalize the wonderful people who work there just because the GM is a horse's rear who teaches his "been there the longest" employee, how to be a cantankerous boar doesn't listen, arrogant and downright nasty person who does not have an ounce of personal touch. The workout room is small and can crowd easily. It was cold. And my medical issue required that I find a suitable place to run a zumba gold routine and get my leg back to working. It was 510 ish, and I ask Mr. Nastiness the god of nasties, IF he could please open up the pool area - he wouldn't even let me explain. Wouldn't let me talk. WOULDNT LISTEN. PERIOD. JUST SHUT DOWN. THEN in a huff and a puff and he'll blow your head off, he grabs the keys and gives me a lecture, as I walk away "BUT IM DOING YOU A FAVOR" he barked. It wasn't the favor dear Sir. It's the fact that you are rude, belligerent and NASTY. My co-worker was appalled. Other 3 co-workers, all respectable veterans referred to this guy as "jerk", "horses ars" and other choice words I can't use in a family setting. The guy lacks any sense of niceties. BUT I can't blame HIM. HE is a carbon copy of the GM. Reminds me of the stuck up owner who took a pot shot at me using my husband (HTI... near Tanglewood!) - follow the story as we go along: Valerie at the front desk is THE poster child for customer service. When we got there, I had a mix up with hotels that my client wanted us to stay at. We had driven 6 hours to get there. We were tired, and a group of us showed up at the same time... without a hair out of place, a sweet smile IMPECCABLE SERVICE, she took care of us all. Morning breakfast is the gross stuff you get in this type of hotel. But the girl with the feeding bug, kept it clean, stocked, organized and interestingly edible (ok some of the items are edible...). I flipped when all my cheap fellow travelers forget to tip the lady. So every day, I tipped her, because we need to remember these people work hard for a penny. Rooms are clean. Hotel is clean. And Mr. Cleaning dude is always on hand - mopping, vacuuming the hallways... YES! Fast forward to the last day, breakfast. I walk into the kitchen looking for our breakfast woman, but it was her day off. GM was there. He offered to take the money for her. Cool. As I proceeded to compliment Valerie - HE CUT US OFF! "SHES LEAVING" and stopped me in my tracks. He just didn't listen. And he doesn't read Yelp because the bloggers are not credible, etc. He just didn't listen. As obtuse as Mr. Gumpy pants who has been on the job since the place opened. My colleagues agreed. The place offers a good night sleep. Just don't engage Mr. Grumpy pants and the incredible "no listen" General Manager. Not bad for a Hampton Inn, just bad service by the more Senior folks. The rest? Hard working, caring, nice professionals. Too bad Miss Valerie is leaving when her spouse deploys. Because she should be the Manager, and all will be good in the world - the world needs more people like her! read more

Ended up going to Hampton for my birthday, the pool wasn't much (deep end was 5 feet or 15 meters) but it still ended up being a great trip and i would recommend this hotel to others especially with, cocoa/coffee/decaf at all hours, amazing hygeine, and perfect breakfast albeit the eggs tasted salty but were still great! read more

Great hotel for a few nights stay in the Watertown area. The hotel is a little dated but it is well maintained and clean. My room was quite large with a king bed and plenty of space. The hotel was very quiet as I didn't hear a door slam all night. This location is in a great spot to run around the area, great running routes through a local college. Stayed for 5 days awaiting sons return from afghanistan. Great place to stay. VERY clean, Customer service was top notch!! The free breakfast in the morning was great. Not the usual one old lady keeping the breakfast area serviced. I must have counted 3-4 people in and out cleaning and refilling the foods. Used the fitness center and the pool at this location. Had a great stay recently at the Hampton Inn Watertown. Visited the area to see family at Fort Drum after Christmas, and the location couldn't be better. Plenty to do around the hotel property, including tons of food and shopping options. Many gas stations and right off the highway. The service was top notch, from the greeting at the front desk and the housekeepers to the staff maintaining the breakfast area in the morning. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only thing keeping this from getting a five-star review was the breakfast....it left a little to be desired. The mini omlettes were cold and the meat choice appeared to be some sort of summer sausage....we're a few miles from the Canadian border....how about some Canadian Bacon?? I called to make a reservation for my husband who was on a business trip and needed to stop for the night...he walked in a few minutes later and they greeted him by name, handed him cold bottled water and offered him freshly baked cookies and coffee. I was there on Jan. 21st 2018. 2nd floor. The room was pretty clean, but smelled heavily of air freshener. Loved having a coffee maker and frig in the room. My suggestion for staying here: Try to request a room with no-one on either side of you. Maybe a corner room? The walls are paper thin. Luckily the party next to me ended about 10 PM. Nothing to call front desk about, just weird being able to hear other people's conversation so clearly. read more

First Class Service - The Best Value - Great People Absolutely THE best stay of any hotel that I have been in around the world. We stayed with family there in preparation for a wedding close to thirty days. The staff is more like family and will go the extra-step to ask what they can do to assist you; and unlike many other hotels, they assist you and look after you like you are family. The grounds are immaculate and brand new. The entire property looks as if it had just opened. The lobby along with the entire property is extremely clean and well maintained. The gym and the pool are ready for use, modern equipment and clean. The rooms are of such quality that you would say you were in a four-star establishment overseas. Large open rooms, with extremely comfortable beds (lots of pillows); a desk and adjustable chair; free WiFi in the room and on the property; a large flat screen HD TV and a large bathroom. Each room has a large college dorm fridge and a microwave. The halls are nice and large and you don't hear other guests coming in and out. The morning breakfasts, starting at 6am - 10 am are fantastic; Tammy ensures that everything always stocked, so if you are the first one in or the last to arrive, everyone has have the same selection. During the day there are fruit and cookies along with a free self-serve coffee/tea/hot chocolate station and popcorn at night. Free parking in a huge, newly paved private parking lot. Deb runs an outstanding organization that she and the corporation should be extremely proud of, they truly are a team that she has developed and nurtured; Naomi is always assisting and doing whatever she can to help; Tammy and Morgan in the kitchen do an outstanding job. Brian is always on top of maintenance and fixes problems before they happen. The Ladies of the cleaning team are a joy to talk to, are extremely personable and take great care of you. These ladies work hard, come in early and always have a smile. The ladies and gentlemen at the front desk are always in a good mood and always go above and beyond to assist you. I've been here multiple times and I've got no complaints except when it's hockey season. Those kids broke the shower head and threw socks in the pool... The parents did ABSOLUTELY nothing. I take my comfort very seriously, if I'm spending good money I expect quality service. Hampton Inn in this part of Watertown NY is the best hotel I've been to EVER. We have family in the area so we are always up there. When we go the pricing is around $ 129- 130's per night for two adults a night. I think the price varies depending on the room so inform yourself , but in any case the service is Outstanding. Service There is helpful and friendly staff along with constant room cleaning as well as clean hotel. This is one of those reliable hotels which meets all requirements perfectly, but doesn't go any further. It's relatively near shopping. My only complaints are that there was no local information, newspapers or anything in the lobby -- apparently it was all kept locked up. And we were given a handicapped-access room (which we didn't need, but evidently what we requested was unavailable) right next to an outside door (great!)...which could only be reached by a flight of six or seven steps. read more

This was the best hotel we stayed in of five in northern NY. It was a tremendous improvement over the first hotel, and the standard by which we compared all the others. The bathroom was bigger than average, and much more functional. I was surprised it didn't include a night light. read more

We had a horrible experience at the Hampton Inn in Watertown NY. We had valuable things stolen from our room from the house keeping staff. The management called and said we can't do anything about it. You can call the cops if you want. The management did not apologize or express any concern for the loss. Very poor head of management. My girlfriend and I drove through Hampton Inn and stumbled upon this place. It was the only place we could afford so we decided to give it a try. Boy were we sure disappointed! There was a couple days of heat, 90+, and our room was super hot. We asked the office folks to turn on the a/c and they said they would. It came on for maybe a few minutes. We thought if we went sightseeing and came back later, that the room would be cool. Sadly, it was still hot even after the sun went down. The place is decent and the rest of the stay was fine; staff was nice, rooms pretty clean. But I wouldn't recommend coming here on really hot days. read more

.Stayed overnight with my 3 daughters. I have the opportunity to spend a few days every couple of months in Watertown to visit 2 of my daughters who live here. I usually stay at a different hotel because of it's proximity to my daughter's home, but it was completely booked so we gave Hampton Inn a try - so glad we did!! Hotel is super clean, decor is very modern. Very close to many restaurants and shopping. 2 of my daughters used the pool - said it was beautiful and water temperature was perfect. Staff were very welcoming, rooms are very spacious as are bathrooms. Loved the shower- had both an overhead and handheld shower head, and awesome water pressure. The complimentary breakfast was good - a nice variety of hot and cold items, and a hot beverage counter available 24/7 - good coffee!! If we find our usual home away from home booked again, we will definitely be coming here!! read more
