I have been wearing Hamrick's clothing since I was a kid. Every year my Mom would take me to the Hamrick's in Charlotte (there was not one in Raleigh yet) to buy my school clothes. (I am 57 years old now.) Hamrick's is my go-to place for reasonably priced, work-appropriate, professional, well-made clothing. They have plenty of employees at this location that are friendly, knowledgeable about their brands and professional. They make you feel appreciated. Refreshing indeed! I've seen the commercials on TV and have wanted to make a visit with the prices that they advertise. I signed up for their newsletter and saw they were having a great summer shoe sale starting today so made the trip over. I tried to be optimistic that I'd find something in my size for the sale prices advertised and since I need a wide shoe, which are not always easy to come by. Well was I ever pleasantly surprised!! I got two pairs of Keds for $20 each and two pairs of Ryka, one for $19.49 and the other for just $6.00!! That's four pairs of shoes for $70.24 including tax. The Ryka's are not inexpensive shoes, btw. My receipt says I saved $144.45! Now how cool is that?!! Will I be back again? You betcha!! read more

They have a wide selection of women's clothing, household goods, shoes and men's clothing. They do have limited selection of kids clothes. They have toys. Lots of household goods. Many end caps have outfit ideas complete with jewelry. The shoes are good quality name brand. It was hard to find something not on sale. You need to make sure that you get the sales paper because they have amazing deals. Love shopping here and checking out the new stuff. I always can find great prices on different items here! Tuesdays are 10% off for Seniors! Plus there's always sales!!! . Fabulous WOWoftheweek sales. The store is a little crowded with merchandise and so it can be difficult to maneuver around and find what you want but there are good deals to be found. I love find good deals on pet items and great pillows. You can find a lot of as seen on tv items in this store. They have great customer service but you have to watch the registers because the prices are super tricky. They have a have a very spacious parking lot. However their chaotic check out system seriously needs attention for better order, like a bank rope line system where next customer is served by next available cashier, so you don't get screwed by being in the wrong individual line being held up by some problem . read more

CHEAP CLOTHES!!! My bride dragged me here because I've lost a ton of weight and my wardrobe literally hangs off of me now. She wanted me to get a couple pairs of dress slacks, so I caved and went to try a couple pair on. Went home with 2 pair of brand name dress slacks for less than $20. There was a bunch of other merchandise around, most of it priced for the budget conscious person. I can't say I'm a fan of the place - it's extremely crowded, and I don't necessarily mean people - more like the aisles are very narrow. The place isn't easy to get to for the person who has never been there before - a little weird getting off the main road to find the store. read more

Hamrick's is designed for the budget conscious basic styles shopper. They market heavily to senior citizens, with a weekly discount for them on Tuesdays. As another reviewer noted, the store aisles are not easy to maneuver. Trying to walk around with a cart means a careful dance through the display racks and other customers. I also agree that the checkout lane design is poor. If you sign up for their store rewards card, you do get frequent discounts offers. read more

Let's start with...I've seen worse. That said, if you want stuff on the cheap, hit it at Hamrick's. This place is a hodgepodge of clothing (men's, women's, children's), accessories, home goods, shoes. Basically a poor man's TJ Maxx. Square footage wise it is a large store but I defy you to spend more than an hour in there because it's filled with a lot of nothing in particular. Really hard to sort through the selection. But if you like bargain hunting, hunt away in this place. It's been mentioned before but its worth mentioning again...the cashier register set up is crazy. You form a line and when your are done, you have to walk back the way you came in it. Sort of like checking out at the grocery store then having to turn your cart around and pass everyone behind you to get out. Doesn't make sense. Hamrick's. I called before I came today, to make sure they had a tan skirt that came to the ankles. They said they did, so I drove an HOUR to get here, only to find hat the skirt they had on hold was brown and came just below the knee. Made me waste TWO HOURS of driving, and I only get ten miles to the gallon because my vehicle is huge, as I'm the mom to seven children through birth and adoption. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!! read more

This store is severely overcrowded with displays and merchandising stands. You can barely walk around the store. The checkout lanes are the worst I've ever seen. You get corralled down into a tiny spot to check out then you have to turn around and fight your way back out of line thru the customers waiting in line. Very poor layout. read more

Hamrick's is just what it says it is! A huge store with a wide selection of about anything you can find! All these reviews about driving 2 hours and not finding what you want is ludicrous! Find a tan skirt to your ankles at your local Target or KMart if they are still in your area! You can negotiate around the aisles and I agree that they are crowded. My advice is to get there early for Christmas items cause it will REALLY be crowded with all kinds of neat items! May not be what some are looking for but it meets my needs! I have gotten GREAT deals on clothes, shoes, household items, etc. LOVE HAMRICKS! AND I drive about an hour to get there! read more

We lived in Greenville, SC for ten years but have now returned home to St. Louis. BOY! DO I MISS HAMRICKS! I guess the negative reviews I've seen are from other stores, but the ones in Greenville, Spartanburg and the store near the outlet mall in Gaffney are excellent. Yes, it can be a little difficult to maneuver a shopping cart through the isles, but it is definitely worth the effort and I agree that checkout could be improved. However, if you're looking for some good deals, this is the place. I have always found that any of the Hamricks store brands hold up well, do not pill and do not "twist" after washing. Is this haute coutre? No, but why would you even go there if that's what you're looking for. Dress selection is not the best. But for nice clothes at a very fair price, this is the place. We are considering a trip south just to visit Hamricks. read more

I recently visited this store, I do not recommend it to anyone. The fayetteville Hamrick's is much better as far as customer service and a wider variety of clothes. Seems like the raliegh one is geared 98% to senior citizens. I mean even the juniors section is bad. And the customer service- terrible. Some of the associates were most definately worse than others... Everyone was given a dress bag for their dresses except for me they threw all of the silk dresses I purchased for a rehearsal dinner in a bag all wadded.. not even folded. Worst of all- the associate who waited on me at the dressing room.. i had ten articles of clothing. She counted 8. And every thing i tried on that i loved she had something negative to say about. I simply looked over to a person i was with explaining that i loved the fit of the jeans as well as the look when she looked at me and ask if i could breathe. Then, when I tried on a not so pretty dress (to humor the person i was with since they liked it) she patronized me. Telling me what the word appropriate means. This dress wouls have been appropriate for a 12 year old sunday school class.. not a classy elegant event for a 20 year old female. When i walked out she replied with a real smart remark "oh you chose those? I would go back to thw drawing board if i were you.." VERY RUDE!! read more
