Everyone on the night shift here is awful, but the sandwich guy is easily my least favorite deli guy in the city and it worsens with every visit. Half the time he's on a power trip and refuses to make basic shit, half the time he makes up absurd charges for nothing, and 100% of the time he's incredibly rude. Pretty sure he also drinks on the job. At this point I don't know why I bother stepping in here. Everything is over priced and the service at night is consistently awful. Once upon a time New York City was the city that never slept and it was a question of what you wanted to eat at 3:00 AM on a Tuesday and not whether anything was open. In the New New York late night options are limited but Hana Food remains consistent in churning out quality and tasty food regardless of the time of day. I've never been to Hana and left hungry or unhappy; they do what they do and they do it consistently and at still at reasonable prices given what you get for what you pay. You decide what you want and how you simply or complexly you want it made and leave the rest up to the masters on the other side of the counter. I switch up my order based on my mood but I'm especially a fan of the combination of the El Mexicano.
