Decent corner store in Hana. We stopped for postcards and something to drink. Employee behind the counter was pleasant.

I stopped by the Hana Store to get a drink.

I stopped in here on a whim as I was in dire need of water. Originally I was looking for another general store in Hana, but since this store was just up the hill from the Bank of Hawaii (Hana Branch), I just popped in just to buy a bottle of water. A very small store, that carries an array of drinks, snacks, and any last minute nick knacks you probably forgot if you came out to Hana town. Stores like this is very important in the Hana community, since driving out to Hana is a long & winding trek. I can imagine if you forgot some important items, the convenience factor of this store is what will actually save you! Through the years the Hana Ranch Store has probably done something right, as I saw a sign posted outside of the business that said it was established back in 1830! WOW! Unbelievable!

There are slim pickings for grocery stores in Hana. I originally was looking to purchase basics so we could cook breakfast the next day. I wasn't prepared. The store is small and cramped. There are basic necessities and I enjoyed perusing the store. One of the things I came here for, I couldn't find were eggs. My Sweetie and I walked up and down the aisles several times with no luck. We ended up leaving empty-handed. We decided we will try our luck trying to find some food in the morning instead.

Hana Ranch Store was open so we could grab a light dinner. I saw a sign said Take Out Food, but what I saw was hotdogs & chili up in front by the cashier. I guess that's what I'm having for dinner. I wanted chili in a bowl, but I didn't call it that. I said Hot Dog with Chili in a Container, she goes "you wanted a chili dog in a container yah?" I said "Ok", didn't want to make a scene after she just told someone to move the car because it was near the front door. Sausage chili dog $3.99 + .17 tax = $4.16 Charged it.

First and foremost the Food was not as I expected. I ordered the fresh fish and it was good. The snag was the 8 bones that I found and the cucumber salad that was cut cucumbers. The second dish was the shrimp linguini. It was a great attempt at a classic. The prawns were not seasoned well. The final straw was the service. The stars for this evening came from the Garlic Prawns. I would highly recommend them.

There aren't many place for grocery shopping on road to Haha. I'm glad to find this market in the area. The store is clean and well organized with basic supplies like over- the-counter medicines, soaps, fruits, drinks, etc. They have very good selection of local vegetables and fruits. The price is compatible with regular market. So, next time when your are visiting Hana bay and forget somethings, no worry. They do close early though but so as everything else here!

Respected the land.* Our first stop for some fuel after a nice hike on the Pipiwai Trail. ⁣ I don't think this local family owned biz gets enough love and attention it deserves! Everything comes straight from their farm! The owner, such a charismatic man. It was nice chatting with him a little about the trees, the kind of fruits he has growing, and how he knew we were Filipinxs cos of "the way we take pictures" lol Filipinxs looove their pics⁣. You probably won't have any service while on the Road To Hana, so just be on a lookout. You'll see their sign! ⁣ This coconut is straight from his tree!!!! If you haven't seen my Maui story, you'll see him cutting it down from his tree! Super cool tbh⁣ ⁣The coconut was sooo fresh!!! He then cut it in the middle for the boo and I to eat the coconut meat. Yum!⁣ ⁣ Not pictured is the GUAVA BANANA BREAD; which I didn't really taste the guava but the bread was moist and flavorful! Tasted the banana part of it though. Parking is very, very limited. They have a small lot that can probably fit 3 to 4 cars easily. They have tables and benches for you to just sit, relax and enjoy. They offer other goodies, too! I also like how they allow visitors to sign their farm stand. With the amount of names written around, it's hard to believe there's very little reviews here on Yelp! So I hope this review reaches someone to spread the word about Hana Cultural Farmstand! ⁣ Pricing is reasonable. The coconut was $10, better pricing here compared to other farm stands we checked out during our trip. The bread was, I believe, so,where between $6-$8 which is affordable because if you started early like we did, you're going to need some fuel during your trip. A lot of eats along The Road To Hana weren't open around 7-9 AM, so I'm glad this place was. ⁣Until next time! Mahalo for the Aloha! ⁣

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

Waimea Butcher Shop is a good place to try them, (it is also a restaurant)! You will be served with warm & friendly service. I found out that I enjoy the taste of fresh grass fed beef, while my family did not. They did not think the meat was fatty or tender enough. This is because grass fed cows are much leaner and don't have their feed come to them. Anyway, I enjoyed my dining experience here and if you're curious, you should definitely come and give it a try! If you're inclined and know how to cook a mean steak, and staying somewhere with a kitchen, grab your supplies here.

The sandwich was packed with flavorful beef, roasted peppers, arugula, and a spicy horseradish sauce all on poi bread. Pricey at $18, but big enough for two to share. The combination of toppings on the homemade crunchy poi bread makes it worth it! Service was pretty quick, friendly, and helpful.
